I actually like it when I can recognize a 4Runner engine starting from a far. My wife doesn’t get it..
Brand new vehicles are capable of having problems.
Ive followed Scotty for years- he is a very experienced (like his whole life) mechanic that doesnt bullshit on his vids. 4Runners can have problems- The sensor doesnt lie.
This guy is pointing out an obvious issue with a relatively new 4runner- dont shoot the messenger.
I mean, don’t they all sound diesely? I’ve owned a Tacoma and now a 4runner with the 1GR-FE and they both sound like this.
Edit: I don’t really get the comparison with the 3rd gen either. My 06 V8 is super quiet even at 200k miles, but it’s a totally different engine.
