The Delaware State Fair - Talking Ostrich, Butter Sculptures and The Haunted Dark RIde

froggy 99.9 isn't that the one from the office hey you all carpetbagger here coming to you live from the great state of delaware more specifically we're in harrington delaware now i've made it somewhat of a goal on this channel to visit all the state fairs at some point maybe i would have visited every single one but it's been kind of a slow journey i've only been able to visit a few every year i visited the north carolina state fair the kentucky state fair i visited the arizona state fair i went ahead and visited the texas state fair which is the largest state fair and earlier earlier this year i visited the florida state fair which one of the few fairs that actually has their fare with a few states as they're for the beginning of the year welcome to the one so that's 5 out of 50. but we're going to check another we're going to check another fare off the list this year because we are at the delaware the delaware state fair here at the delaware state fair gate now i don't know a whole lot about the delaware state fair i don't know a whole lot about what we're going to be seeing honestly i don't know a whole lot about delaware but we are going to immerse ourselves and we are going to learn together here at the delaware state fair so please follow me [Music] company [Music] some wonderful state fair treats there some candy apples some funnel cakes and fried oreos over here by spaghetti eddies i noticed there's a man riding an ostrich oh the ostrich can talk oh wow he's he's alerted feathers allergic to feathers he's covered in feathers can i be in here watch out for that ostrich he likes you this is awesome oh my god what oscar the awesome ostrich is that what he said well hey there oscar it's a it's a pleasure to meet you oh don't don't make any sudden movements oh wow oscar the awesome ostrich getting some people taking some selfies there with the ostrich we will likely get some fair food here before the end of the night lots of things to choose from this uh gator this gator stand is caught man i definitely love eating a little bit of alligator everyone now and then i'm gonna head here into the exhibit hall not only do they have exhibits inside but they have butter sculpture now i've heard of butter sculptures a famed state fair activity but never seen them with my own eyes so let's head in got various businesses selling their wares got some uh political booths in here i don't follow delaware politics but look at this in this refrigerated booth we can see the butter sculptures taking shape you can see there is a ferris wheel being carved back there and a tractor being carved up there so i guess people have to work in the refrigerated area so the butter doesn't melt you don't want to end up working with lobster butter you got to keep it nice and cool inside this refrigerated unit here you can see doing some work there on the tire gently spreading the butter so yeah it's not carving they don't like carve it out of a big chunk of butter it's more like smoothed out they take little little pads of butter and smooth it out in to a sculpture let's see they got some reference material there of a tractor they're forming in to this butter tractor here you get to see the amount of butter it takes to make one of these sculptures just a pile of sticks of butter right there the artist works to very slowly very meticulously take them it looks like there is like a wire framing you know framing out the basic shape of the item that they're sculpting but then they apply the butter to that frame and smooth it out i guess they're going to be here all week long forming the butter into these sculptures they'll look really nice by the end you see yeah the the wheels here they've had the butter they put little little balls of butter all over it all over the seat and then as they slowly go towards smoothing that and creating a smooth buttery cover you can see where the body of the tractor has been smoothed out with the butter and i was not expecting this to have a cheerwine booth here in delaware there you go thank you it's good to see the gospel cheerwine being spread you know i i live primarily in north carolina so it is a carolina beverage it was actually started in north carolina so great to see all the way out in delaware here at the delaware state fair they have a cheerwine booth [Music] so delicious it's a cherry soda but it's very very unique a very distinct sheer wine flavor again it's called cheer wine but it is a non-alcoholic carbonated wine some would say it's very similar to a soda [Music] cheers the delaware solid waste authority little mascot there who's a happy yellow trash can [Music] and across the way here we have the delaware state fair marketplace this basement waterproofing specialists have a mascot here miss molly mold spore it's a pretty terrifying creature there she's eating a lollipop there's mold coming out of her mouth it says yucky basement great my friends and i will be right over to play and see all her disgusting friends ready to play in your moldy basement different toys stuffed animals being sold here got some knives for sale here let's see i got some swords some katanas back there this is the bbx wellness machine here apparently seen on dr oz i guess it says you must be over 21 to 20 i am over 21. so i will on here feel the vibrations i think so bending your knees open my knees okay see the barbecue tube man there happily waving above the delaware state fair he's got some stakes there on the trunk of his body [Music] oh who is this who is this hey there oh you're gonna do that oh oh what we're dancing okay woohoo all right that is some awesome oh did the bernie there for a second that's awesome oh who was that i love their dancing they're supposed to have a nightly parade here at the fair not been able to determine exactly where it's going to pop out of oh wait i spot it i spotted him again hey there how's it going all right [Music] okay i found the parade i had to follow the sound of the marching band [Music] oh there's something there's some nice horses there this is uh youth of the day angelina horak right there got an old tractor there some kids sitting on hay another old tractor there looks like here we may have the queen of the delaware state fair the queen of delaware if you will oh then we end up with the delaware state police oh there's one more old tractor up there in the back see some cows there getting a haircut before the big show [Music] now it is time to grab a seat for one of the greatest fair traditions the racing pigs here we have the hollywood racing pigs guess they're racing all the way from hollywood ladies and gentlemen boys and girls if you have never seen the hollywood racing pigs before i do want to tell you a little bit about what's gonna happen today out on our track now today you're gonna see two races our first race is gonna be the only obstacle racing pigs and our second race that's gonna be the main event winner takes all you will witness five racing pigs race all at the same time now we're gonna start with our first racer wearing the number one blanket so folks let's make some noise for the baconator baconator and we have our second racer he's wearing the number two blanket he's everybody's favorite so let's hear it for dale earnhardt junior dale earnhardt jr [Music] [Applause] trying to catch up [Music] [Applause] trading her freedom she's britney spearon britney spare ribs our second racer with a number two blanket yes that's mr kevin bacon kevin bacon i've heard that pun used before she's making a comeback in and out of trouble lindsay lohan lindsay lohan number four all the kids favorite from the pineapple under the sea that is sponge hog pork pants sponge and my favorite number five blanket he performed at the super bowl which is probably why he's racing here today love it let's hear it for snoop hoggy hog snoop hoggy hog [Music] they are moving so fast it looks like we have lost their blankets right off their back while i have two racers out in the lead good thing that kid crew knows who's who out here crowd here is going to be here oh there he goes here we have the free menagerie we walk through this interesting gateway here to see some animals got some goats hanging out over here hey there mr goat how are you doing mind if i had your horns i feel like you feel like he just wanted food he doesn't care about pets hey you're a cute little goat how are you doing there goatee there's a scottish cow hey there buddy i like like your shaggy haircut how are you doing let's see when it's even getting my mind if i rustle his hair a little bit hey buddy oh my gosh these goats are all very cute but that there that is the cutest goat right there look at how tiny how tiny that goat is it's a tiny tiny tiny goat see there's a regular goat by comparison got a cup of food here to feed the animals listen i'll give you guys some food if you tell me the difference between a llama and alpaca you guys look a little different which one of you is the llama and which one is the alpaca okay okay yeah i'll shut up you can get some food oh don't take the whole cup don't take that you're a let your friend have some too here you're here oh he's more gentle he didn't try to take the whole cup so yeah i'm gonna give him just a little just a little bit more okay now he's getting now he's getting aggressive you guys do you guys ever bite people i got bit bit by a camel once and uh it was really terrifying but i don't know you have kind of a camelish vibe to you but uh i don't know i gotta give some of this food to some of this food of this goats over here i think they deserve some food as well hey tiny goat tiny goat here here your tiny goat the big goats won't let the tiny goat get his food oh these big goats they oh they've totally pushed totally pushed tiny goat out of the equation not entirely sure what a zebu is it appears to be the world's most adorable cow hey zebu you want a little zebu food this is especially food special for zebras yeah we'll pour it in your mouth there you go there you go that's some good food for you mr mr zebu see if i can get my last little bit of food over here to the tiny goat here you go wake up wake up wake up and eat the food oh he's fast asleep he's tuckered out and now this big goat is stealing all his food all right i got some carrots as well this is the carrot only section and feed these zebras here you zebras like carrots i heard i've heard zebras can be very bitey so yeah just caution i may bite may feel like biting so i'm gonna extend the arm and see if he can see if he can oh look i'm trying to grab it with his tongue there you go there you go there you go there you go there you go oh oh you're so cute do donkeys like carrots do you want a carrot oh reach for it oh don't bite my fingers okay there we go i keep my fingers and you keep the carrot do you want to carrot there little sebastian oh my god look at his mouth did you see that all right do you want do you want my last carrot i have one last carrot left if you if you're interested there we go these are jacob's sheep jacob's sheep actually can grow up to four horns none of these particular jacob sheep have four horns so maybe they're maybe they're growing sheep here this is cyrisaurus reptiles here it's one dollar person of course they don't not allow photos or videos so i'll head inside and just tell you what it's like so yeah a dollar for a room full of snakes and reptiles definitely truth in advertising a lot of big snakes a lot of big lizards and there was even a couple big frogs in there [Music] now it is time to check out the carnival portion of the fair and according to this banner this is the greatest carnival on the planet so we see the giant speedy ferris wheel over the fair you can actually see there's some storms earlier there is a rainbow right there oh the skies are pretty dark so kind of a dark rainbow there in the sky very interesting pretty beautiful actually oh and look who decided to show up at the delaware state fair it's the haunted the traveling dark ride i've actually rode the haunted at the tennessee valley fair in tennessee as well as the florida state fair in tampa but you know what i'm always up for a ride on the haunted see the demonic creatures here on the side of the haunted the skeletal grim reaper the wicked demon face over top the haunted castle that evil dragon there this guy up here has actually ripped someone's heart out of their chest as you see it's still beating and pulsating blood right there this guy here he's pulled someone's skull right out of their head these these demons are not playing around i think that's actually dimitri from night stalkers oh and our chariot has arrived all right getting in our cart here as we prepare to enter the haunted gotta hold on tight that's ready to plunge into a world of pure darkness evil and horror oh let's turn the lights on here oh and we're ready to head in here we go into the haunted oh it's very dark in here we gotta watch out i think there's some spooks and some scares in here something coming up i think something's gonna pop oh oh oh what's that okay something down there there's a face it's gonna pop here oh it's a clown a themonic clown of some sort something's coming something's coming maybe not all right what about this here it's gonna oh that's veracio's head where are we going oh i think it's flat a skeleton in the darkness but it's going to remain in the darkness i guess another spooky face yes a skull of some sort oh and there we go very spooky spiderweb here at the end we head back out in to the state fair you can see the haunted there that rainbow above it that rainbow actually goes all the way across the sky right there over top the ferris wheel and landing here at the haunted as if a haunted were a pot of gold oh what's this it's the downdraft propels them up and down through the atmosphere oh that was a big one right there big jump [Music] this is called the axis variation of the scrambler you can see those people there currently being scrambled oh it's picking up some speed remember annabelle used to actually love riding the scrambler back when she was little she'd make me ride it and i'd always be crushed against the side the centrifugal force pushes you out towards the side you got to make sure she is on the other side so i didn't crush her win some big prizes here see some stuffed animals there i guess these all have different military affiliations the marine corps the donkey here is in the army [Music] look at this big red bull there the mardi gras fun house we've actually been in there too it's kind of a mirror maze there on the bottom you go up to the second floor and they have some fun mirrors and then you exit through the twirly slide there the alpine bobs bob's of course short for bob's sleds see they're being rotated very very quickly the pirate ship there still pretty terrifying but this is one of the more uh more moderate versions of the pirate ride you got to watch out for the ones if they have a counterweight at the top that means they have the capability of going all the way around always wondered how this jamaican banana has become such a mainstay at the fair scene there's actually even a news story about a guy who spent his life savings trying to win a jamaican banana what is the p the what is the appeal i didn't even mean to make that joke what is the appeal of the jamaican banana leave a comment in the comment section and tell me why jamaican bananas are so great what is this guy called i know he's like a scary internet character is it huggy wuggy or fuzzy wuzzy one of those things here and then i think i think are these the cactuses that would sing about cocaine once the kids got them home and if i leave here tomorrow would you still remember me we have the free bird actually been on that ride pretty ludicrous of course it's basically just being stuck in the loop of a roller coaster without having the ability to move forward in any way hear the screams coming i think it eventually will go all the way around takes it a second takes it a second to get that head of steam or maybe it'll never get away all the way around i don't know oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh almost maybe now okay oh not quite all right it's got to make it this next go round [Music] oh no oh no someone's satisfying when it doesn't make it okay maybe i'm starting to think it's never going to go all the way around but we're wasting our time here oh wait there it goes oh so satisfying when it finally goes there's starship 4000 also known as a gravitron some people people are actually smashed against the inside as it rotates one of the only rides where they can make you feel your organs moving around inside your body and changing places oh i actually really hate this ride you see people hanging on it like superman but actually it's like really painful that like crushes your guts as you're laying on that platform these people seem to be enjoying it though actually honestly these people look a little bored i would be screaming in pain [Music] it's just called zero shock it says just jump sorry no sissies so i guess it's a very uh fairly primitive carnival ride you just climb up that ladder and jump off the top tower there oh he says he can't do it just said he's not going to do it come on over and take it up guys guess he's free fall right here right thinking about it i don't know i don't know i don't know we should go for it or not oh i think he's gonna do it i think he's gonna do it there he goes [Music] [Applause] so this may not end well actually tried to ride this ride before but i actually was too big the restraints would not close on me so unfortunately i may never know the joy of riding the hydro shock and of course i'm actually relieved i don't ever really want to ride the hydro shock and i actually just saw some lightning back there making me even more glad i'm not on the hydro shock oh my gosh let's see the orbiter there kind of like the scrambler but taken to a different level they have these arms that scramble you upwards as well as sidewards the super himalayan the himalaya rides very similar to the bobsled rides i guess the difference is the bobsleds are hanging so they can swing back and forth and the himalaya cars are on a straight flat track it's my old nemesis the zipper actually rode this crazy thing at the florida state fair oh my gosh so basically those are coffins and there's humans inside them and that was pretty much the wildest ride i ever had it's a fun night packed in there my friend tampa j as we were spun in our double person coffin into the sky good memories good times here at the state fair this scooter right here the front almost looks like the front of a semi truck we got some bumper cars in here oh head-on collisions coming up right it's the goldfish game back when i was a kid that was the only thing i cared about all i wanted was to win a goldfish and take it home have a pet forever i could tell the story i rescued him from the fair see when i was a kid he actually had the goldfish in those little bowls you'd have to throw the ping pong ball in the bowl and you got that fish in the bowl i guess they've stopped doing that that's not a good really good way to treat a fish so now you can get up get a ball in one of those bowls they give you a fish from this tank here so he's actually bigger and more healthy looking than the fish they had when i was a kid at the fair all right here comes the worm oh [Music] [Music] see mario land here complete with the mario brothers there on the side where kids can climb around inside and pretend that they are indeed in the mushroom kingdom say construction themed train ride here the zombie motel a more uh kind of gentle spooky ride for kids little fun house you can walk through with the traditional rotating barrel at the end i think it is time to get some food here at the state fair i think we will go here to the bacon stand they have bacon wrapped chicken bacon on a stick bacon corn dogs has everything you could possibly want wrapped in bacon all right so this is what i got for my state fair dinner that is a piece of bacon wrapped bacon it is a giant thick cut piece of bacon wrapped in smaller thinner bacon so bacon wrapped in bacon here i am with my bacon wrapped bacon i don't even i don't even know what to say never seen anything like this in my life oh my gosh that's so good it's the thickest piece of bacon i have ever had the pleasure of seeing super crispy super bacon yeah it's just a giant slab of bacon it's like a piece of bacon as thick as a hamburger wrapped in other bacon yeah i think if you're all for bacon i think this is pretty much the ultimate bacon treat there in a true state fair style meal and once again i am a member of the clean stick club at least it's keto see a giant inflatable polar bear there sliding down with some penguins isn't it true that polar bears and
