This is a great watch! It's unquestionable that the games as a service model has lead to greater funding and development in those titles rather than new single player IP and some long awaited sequels. I'm glad that the narrator points out the recent Respawn Entertainment Star Wars game as an exception to this trend. I believe this is because Respawn was fully aware of this practice by EA and other potential publishers, and did all they could to protect themselves when the entered into their publishing agreement when they finally settled on EA. Many new developers are trying to emulate this approach, or taking a queue from CDPR and going the self-publishing route. The latter option has become less challenging in some ways, but more so in others.
This would be told better by someone who didn’t start gaming on a Gameboy color.
