The Darkest Episode Of Clarence

[Music] oh [Music] clarence was one of my favorite shows on cartoon network growing up for some reason this show just really really struck with me i think it was maybe just the fact that it was just such a down-to-earth show a lot of stuff that clarence did on the show reminded me of me when i was a kid just how he used to act around friends and there was nothing extreme about the show there was no like explosions or time traveling or anything like that on the cartoon it was simply just a kid and his friends getting into adventures which really just kind of hit home to me the show featured around the title character clarence who is a young boy who basically just gets into adventures with his friends whether it be like in a player pen or the school he just basically was a really happy kid like kind of like spongebob in a way but he was just a really kind of big dumb kid who everyone liked and it was kind of heartwarming to watch but i always remembered this one episode that i always kind of quote i mean my brother talk about every now and again and this episode of clarence was titled little buddy the episode begins basically advertising like a doll or like a friend doll you know kind of like a chucky type doll but this is obviously a parody i don't know if you guys know this but it's pretty much identical to a my buddy commercial back from the 1980s clarence has obviously just powered it with little buddy i'll put the two clips side by side to show you guys what it was like [Music] with nc clarence who was basically showing the class the advert as like a presentation to the class about his doll little buddy which obviously really really likes it's now recess and clarence has been really annoying he's trying to get everybody to touch little buddy and you know feel his hair and stuff like that even her little buddy is gross look it's such a beat up disgusting old doll he finds his friend called reed and he decides to kind of force reed to play with the doll which reed falls over and then starts crying which obviously looks like clarence has pushed him so the woman who's on recess duty basically puts clarence in timeout for five minutes and if clarence speaks any word he gets five extra minutes where he misses his recess this five minutes obviously feels like an eternity for clarence and he's getting really scared that he's gonna miss his recess time the woman then shouts at clarence saying that why didn't he say something his five minutes ended five minutes ago so he was in timeout for 10 minutes and he can go back and play as soon as clarence goes to play the bell rings and he has to go back to class which just does something to clarence which is kind of weird when you get into it a bit further clarence has been back in class and i think they're in science class and summer obviously tries to cheer up clarence which just isn't working he's got a blank expression on his face he doesn't seem interested in anything we then see that night clarence is talking to himself in his bedroom kind of repeating what the playground teacher said and he's kind of getting more and more crazy and he blames little buddy and something starts to go wrong with clarence clarence then basically gets on his bike and rides into the woods in the thunderstorm to bury his doll underground which that is creepy really clarence then buries the doll before going back home the next day his mum's taking him to school and she tries to tell him a jerk clarence doesn't laugh he has no expression there's just there's no like body there's just a body there's no soul behind it clarence is just like completely dead inside we then see a montage basically seeing clarence's decline it's kind of parodied as well of uh strange things from toy story where woody has to get used to buzz being there which i'll compare those two clips as well so you guys can see the example [Music] clarence is in detention and he looks completely different he's got his head shaved he's got like bags under his eyes he's wearing black belson says that he's pretty cool now which clarence honestly doesn't care what belsen thinks we then cut to the playground where a young student runs up to the teacher and tells him that clarence has gone insane so she goes over and clarence is dressed up as little buddy and he's forcing jeff to touch the severed hand of the doll that he buried on the ground which but this is a kids show this is like on cartoon network for kids clarence then starts to rebel against the teacher and he's like getting threatened in towards there when he turns around then belson then pulls down his trousers and basically tries to mock clarence which clarence then punches him in the face which is extremely out of character for clarence he hits belson everyone someone says to cheer for him which then clarence shoves him over as well before running away clarence is now in like isolation after this he's sat in a dark room by himself which then he needs to go speak to the principal he goes to speak to the principal and she notices that his behavior has changed and he seems sad all the time and then she makes a surprise and she gives clarence little buddy back that she's found obviously out of the debt she's digged it up for him which is really happy he then gets rewarded with a little bit of extra recess time to play by himself to cover for the 10 minutes that you've lost the previous couple of days so then clarence is outside dancing with little buddy and we get this hilarious shot of clarence which i found hilarious suma and jeff then say they got the old clowns back which then the episode ends this could possibly be my favorite episode of clarence just because it has such a weird dark undertone to it like it feels like a kid's version of child's play i really do like this episode and it really just goes to show how creative clarence was you know the parodies and the the jerks and stuff like clarence really was a good shirt i want to go into more episodes of clarence in the future because i feel like it's extremely underrated when it comes to modern cartoon network so if you enjoyed please like and subscribe the
