since this was nothing but wild countryside it survived fire and flood and famine and frost and drought and war and even and even clubs no mistake there's a new highway coming in through here and that tree creates a traffic bottleneck hey all i know is that tree has to go to make room for the new highway but bear town doesn't need any newfangled highway who could be at the bottom of this terrible awful disgusting scheme ah that'll be a four-way traffic light here in front of town hall we'll time it extra long so everyone can look up and see the name of the new highway the honorable horace j high pot honeywell yeah i mean their honeypot highway right every time anyone in bear town goes anywhere they'll have to take your highway it's better than advertising right but here's the really good part think of all the money we'll make money how do we do that by using cheap materials of course you know maybe i could get us a meal on the duck i i i mean a deal on muck right hmm most folks think their town's just fine the way it is but what about the traffic problem well that's the problem there is no problem don't you worry mr mayor just leave that to me papa papa it's just terrible we've got to do something hmm the old shag bark hickory tree has been condemned the old shag bark hickory it can't be it mustn't be yeah they're gonna cut it down it's something about a highway highway robbery is more like robbery of one of our great temples it's time for action mama what is it here they're going to cut down the old shag bark hickory we've got to hurry what would we do without old using the old shag rock hickory as a back scratcher is a bit unseemly if you ask me it is a pretty famous tree that's right and as chair beer of the bear country historical society i am not about to sit by while one of our national monuments is destroyed a traffic jam a traffic jam they're trying to be a traffic jam free honey drive don't walk to the town square today for your free honey see rapid rough a busy sneak the maple is beautiful but the shag bark hickory is a good scratch and those are hard to come by [Music] i mean the honorable horace j honeypot highway will be wonderful for our fair city but we like it the way it is no no no we mustn't stand in the way of progress now must we the new highway is the scheme of a i mean the dream of a lifetime but what about the old shake bark hickory tree we need the shag bark it's the best back scratcher in bear country well yeah i refuse to discuss the scratch backing a guy i mean a back scratching issue at this time only if certain members of our community can control themselves as chairman of the historical society i have to launch a formal protest the shed rock hickory is a national treasure start messing with old shade and you'll uproot our entire community new highway is going to all the traffic problem that's a lot of phony baloney there are no traffic jams in bear town we don't need a highway well i mean any time narrow [Music] and my new highway will prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again where did all those cars come from no no you cubs know where i can go to get my free honey honey well this of delightful yeah i mean despicable behavior brother claire honeypot haven't you ever had one of those crawly itches in the middle of your back you know one of those squiggly kind of itches well really as a matter of fact it's a prickly tickly kind of that sneaky creepy kind of the kind of that will drive you crazy because you just can't get it no matter how you try oh yeah oh get hold of yourself now then what were you saying about that new highway and cutting down old shades cut it down never i forget the highway project it is hereby permanently cancelled i officially declare the old shag bark hickory tree a historical of the landmark you cubs gotta help me what's the problem ralph did your traffic jam get a little sticky [Music] you see i i thought i got a steal on a load of honeycomb bits at the honey outlet imagine they cheated me there's not a drop of honey in it a fine piece of work cubs a fine piece of work you not only foiled another one of ralph's rotten schemes
