You don't need 95% of this. The most difficult thing to game on Linux is installing steam and GPU drivers. Both not covered in this tutorial!

It is worth noting that you absolutely do not need this to use Linux. Just pop in a USB with a Linux distro, and you're on your way. Most of them are as straight-forward to install as Windows, if even not more.

A course in GNU/Linux is no more necessary than one in Windows.

Not trying to be snarky or anything, but what is the main benefit of Linux? I guess I'd call myself a casual user as I do not have a computer science background but it seems like there is a small but vocal user base that loves the software. Do users get increased performance? Or is it more customizable?

Hello everyone and welcome to this complete Linux course. This course was previously hosted on Udemy and I am now making it available to everyone here on YouTube. This course was designed to be a survey of Linux, so we're gonna touch a lot of topics. This is a complete list of topics and I will post this in the description to this video as timestamps But we start with a general introduction to Linux. What are Linux distributions? Then we move onto installation line and we get into command we move into the file system, how to create create delete and transfer files, move onto some development some networking and general I guess Linux administrative tasks if at any point you find yourself needing help, or you'd like some more one-on-one attention or a tutor of sorts, I currently have a great course on Udemy that is Linux based, its a pen testing course I'll put a link to that course in the description, so be sure to like comment and subscribe, and without further adue I'll turn you over to Nick who will be your instructor for this course. Hi guys I'm Nick, thanks for joining me today together we'll get a journey through Linux and give you the knowledge you need to be a power user But first we need to ask a question: what is Linux? Well, confusingly it depends on who you asks In order to get an idea of what Linux is, we need to go back to In the early 80's, Richard Stallman, then working at the AI lab at MIT, started a good new project with a goal of creating a entirly free and open unix-like OS
