our complete history and lore series for overwatch for today's video we're here to shed some light on the elusive master hacker Sombra who is this mysterious agent of chaos and disorder where new her loyalties really lie what is her real name it's time to explore where Sombra came from and where she might be going next this is the complete history and lore of Sombra in overwatch some 30 years before the current events of overwatch Sombra was born with the name olivia column are in Dorado Mexico however she was born in the midst of one of the most dangerous conflicts the world had ever seen which was of course the aamna crisis years ago young Olivia column R was one of many thousands of children in Mexico who has left orphaned in the aftermath of the war the aamna crisis took a large toll in sombras home country Mexico was ravaged by the conflict and a great deal of its infrastructure was gone young Olivia was able to survive and make her way through the world due to her natural gifts with computers including hacking ultimately the orphans Sombra was taken in by the los muertos gang who became her new family after the ominous the reconstruction of Mexico was taken over by mega corporations such as loom Eriko the company created a series of power plants in a network across the country with the final one built in dorado gangs like los muertos thought the reconstruction of mexico merely benefitted the rich and powerful of the country meanwhile the destitute and people most in need of help were left out in the cold it was time to fight back young Olivia Coulomb are helped the gang in a revolution against the Mexican government one of Olivia's hacking targets was a police commissioner named Rivera she hacked his computer by offering him a gift of bread from there things snowballed for Cole amar she started hacking politicians corporations governments and celebrities Olivia colum R became obsessed with gathering and retrieving data over time colmar became incredibly confident with her special set of skin however at one time colmar stumbled into a deep government conspiracy her identity became compromised she could no longer live as Olivia colum our putting her hacking skills to use Olivia erased her identity and went off of the grid all traces of her identity were erased including all records of her real name she also received advanced cybernetic augments Olivia Kumar was no longer the girl was gone she became a whisper in the night at O of the dark web no she was not a shadow she was some bruh and thus Olivia colum R was put to rest and the master hacker Sombra was born after establishing her new identity as Sombra the master hacker sought to uncover the truth of who really runs the world her hacking jobs have came even more ambitious striking at the world's most powerful governments and organizations including other mega corporations such as Ville skya Industries sombras abilities ultimately gained her the attention of the international criminal and terrorist organisation Talon she was recruited into talent and helped assist in the organisation's massive cyber attacks against corporations with strong government ties while a part of the organisation she eventually befriended the combat medic Jean Baptiste the two became close friends however Baptiste eventually grew uncomfortable with the actions of talon and sought to leave the organization Sombra opted to still keep an eye on her friend after he left during her time with talon Sombra staged a massive cyber attack against Lou Marek oh when Lou Morocco and CEO Guillermo Portero were supposed to announce a power plants construction Sombra hacked Lou Morocco's web sites this included unauthorized logins to the personal page of lemare co-ceo Guillermo Portero power spikes during an alarm test and unauthorized changes in server code later on somebody leaked company documents revealing that Portero was embezzling money and that he bribed public officials the action ultimately disgraced Portero who is forced to step down because of the leaks however the authorities called Sombra sacked a crime and Portero was later somehow exonerated and able to maintain his position as CEO Atlas News characterized hombres acts as the actions of a collective group and not a lone individual Sombra called the cyber attacks on America as acting in the general public interest as a result of her actions the public rebelled against the Americo and would spray crow Sombra graffiti on the streets all over the world now Sombra was no stranger to theft besides the girl has got to have the latest tech right summer would acquire her advanced tech and equipment such as her translocator device from over watches Winston and this stolen equipment did earn Sombra a bit of ire by tracer so resumed took part in one of her most audacious missions yet joining Talon members Reaper and Widowmaker summer took part in a mission to infiltrate Vil skaia industries and assassinate Koch eval skaia instead Sombra went into business for herself she called an audible and acted on her own preventing ville sky as assassination Sombra broke into vol Sky's office blackmailed her revealed that she knew the truth about Katya Vil Sky's dealings with the omnis and this information if it got out could ruin vol scious career public image and status as a russian hero so summer essentially recruited Voss kya as her own personal informant but Voss kya was not going to take this transgression lightly she sent a soldier to search and destroy Sombra and that soldier was none other than Alexandra's Arya Nova aka Zarya along with a nom mnek named link 17 Zarya went on a trek across the globe to locate and eliminate Sombra and at one point Zahra went to Lumiere co-ceo Portero for assistance in tirado Mexico but he said that Lumira Co could not offer their resources to help ins arias mission perhaps since there was yet another data breach at lemare cove or taro feared that more sensitive information would get leaked evangelize area and link 17 tracked Sombra down thanks to help from the young girl Alejandra Zarya tracked Sombra down to a warehouse where the two engaged in battle Sombra revealed Valle scious dirty little secret however Zarya revealed her own trump card sombras real name which took Sombra by surprise during the confrontation Sombra claimed that she wanted the sky to remain in power as her informant also she said that something much bigger was going on and she wanted while skies helped to uncover it ultimately Sombra incapacitated link 17 and started a bomb that would effectively destroy the warehouse so while Zarya had to make a decision on whether to go out Sombra Wars save League 17 Sombra was able to escape since Zarya let her go opting to save the omnec currently summer remains a part of towns organization after doom fist broke out of prison River debriefed him on some brass activities during the ville sky emission doom ffice didn't mind some recalling inaudible the leaving vol sky ax was more useful to talent alive and he didn't mind talent members such as Sombra having ambition later Sombra joined doom fist Widowmaker and Reaper for a mission to take down a rival Talon member viale in Monaco the mission was successful and doom fist eliminated the dissident viale while soma appears to be an agent of chaos and disorder her true loyalties appear to lie mainly to herself Sombra is most certainly a master hacker and she seems to be aware of the secrets and dirt on everybody in the overwatch universe however it's unknown if she's aware that Reaper is keeping tabs on her extracurricular activities she was also taken by surprise when Zarya revealed her true name at one point over Christmas Sombra was also seen at a bar in Calaveras Mexico where a Jesse McCree was passed out dead drunk at the same bar it's unknown if they had any contact with one another or if he was already passed out when she got there while Baptiste left Talon and stopped other members from the organization who pursued him summer was still keeping an eye on him from afar wanting to know what her old friend was getting up to does Sombra see Baptiste as a genuine friend or is she simply spying on him for her own benefit to the general public Sombra is a mystery however the even bigger mystery is her one true goal summer wants to unravel a conspiracy that led to her erasing her identity the truth behind this conspiracy is unknown all that's known is that this is a global conspiracy that is bigger than anyone thought possible according to Sombra it will affect everyone and everything considering talons and goals to start a world war in Somis past actions to expose corruption by governments and mega corporations does she really support what talon wants when it comes time to assassinate Voss kya Sombra changed the plans volvo sky is not exactly innocent she did keep a mother from being murdered and a child from being orphaned not to mention Sombra has her supporters in the public who are in lockstep with of her actions to expose the wrongdoings of those in power now it begs the question does sambar really support talent or perhaps there is something even more complex going on frapp summer is a part of talent to work in the belly of the beast and disrupt the beast from within maybe summarize acting as a virus from within talent will ultimately help bring the organization down otherwise if summer is completely aligned with talyn's mission her actions to support the blatantly malevolent terrorist organization to start a war that could kill millions and create more orphans like Sombra seems to directly contradict her true goals but of course that's just a TGN overwatch
