through 11 you're watching online we invite you to read the Word of God along with us David asked is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake now there was a sermon of Saul's house names Abba they summoned him to appear before David in the king said to him are you Sabah at your service he replied the king answered is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I could show God's kindness Zara answered the king there is still a son of Jonathan he's lame in both of his feet where is he the king said Isaiah answered he is at the house a maker son of a mile in lo debar so King David had had him brought from lo debar from the house of maker son of a mile when mephibosheth son of Jonathan the son of Saul came to David he bowed down to pay him honor David said Mephibosheth at your service he replied don't be afraid David said to him for I will don't be afraid David said to him don't be afraid David said to him for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather saw and you will always eat at my table [Applause] Mephibosheth bowed down and said what is your servant that you should notice a dead dog like me did the King summons Ibis all steward and said to him I have given your master's grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family you and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops so that your masters grandson may be provided for and the finish of grandson of your master will always eat at my table now as IVA had 15 sons and 20 servants Zen's IVA said to the king your servant will do whatever my lord the King commands his servant to do so mafia chef ate at Davis table liked one of the king's sons that's good all by itself hidden I want to preach this morning I want to teach I want to talk about the subject the comeback kid the comeback kid are there any comeback kids in the house who have survived the vicissitudes of life who have had close calls almost didn't make it the odds were against you you were facing turbulent circumstances but some kind of way every time the enemy counted you out and your haters counted you out and sometimes you counted yourself out but God still made a way out of no way touch your neighbors say I'm a come back here let's pray father in the name of Jesus I pray that the blessing of the Lord would overshadow this place in a supernatural way that that you would move in such a way that people would be blessed and healed and delivered and yokes would be broken off of their lives that they would be set free that the power of God would operate in a supernatural way I thank you for what you're going to do in Jesus name somebody shout a man you may be seated in the presence of the Lord I would love to say that that I created that title the comeback kids but I did not originally it was taken from a movie called the comeback here and the movie is quite old I think he was back in 1990 or so that the movie was made but the statement was became famous because of Bill Clinton at a time that they had ruled him out and politically had had backed him up in a corner against the wall and he was going through the process of trying to be elected and it looked like he wasn't going to get elected and all of a sudden in a shift of events he rose up and dubbed himself the comeback kid but he is not the only comeback here there there are a lot of people who are comeback kids there are people who have recited who have rebounded from things that were so horrific not not not just not just not just elections not just politics but rebounded from cancers and rebounded from car wreck said and rebounded from neglect and rebounded from abuse and rebounded from rape and rebounded from being ostracized and rebounded from being illiterate and rebounded from being disconnected and rebounded from being abused as a child and rebounded from all types of circumstances you don't understand when you come in and you sit back with your nose up in the air and you judge our praise and you think we're praising God because we're ignorant you don't understand that we're praising God because when the odds were against us and it seemed like there was gonna be no way at all that God has a way of making a way out of no way in fact it almost seems as though he chooses the most unlikely people to do the most amazing things so that you can take no credit for yourself you all the honor and all the glory to God because it didn't look like you were gonna be sitting where you're sitting right now but god bless you to get there anyway I wanna I want to put this text in context I have preached this text years ago and preached in a different way but I want to put this text in context because when you look at it I want you to understand what season it is in David's life David has been prophesied to by Samuel that he would be king when he was a child when he was just a little run of a boy he's been anointed to be the king of Israel and years and years and years have gone by and he served in a lot of different capacities and he has not yet become King and Saul has died and he has not become king so sometimes God gives you words and it takes a long time for that word to manifest in your life the Bible says love the vision Terry wait for it in the end it will speak and not lie it's not like they anointed him to be king and immediately he was made King and the word came to pass and it looked like samuel was a true prophet of God David could have concluded that samuel was a liar because he had the anointing on his head but he didn't have the position some people like to say it this way he was anointed but not appointed sometimes God will put an anointing on you for a time that is years to come but just because you're annoying it doesn't mean you don't have to pay your dues Dudley you're you don't have to fight it doesn't mean you have to you have to doesn't mean you don't have to learn patience and learn how to wait that you have to endure hardness as a good soldier and it can look like the dream is not going to happen it look like it wasn't gonna happen Saul died Jonathan died and still David was 19 ish Michelle fit was one of Saul's sons who really wasn't a great leader but they made him King and it looked like David was not going to be king Israel had split and David had become the king of Judah but not the king of Israel and all of a sudden it's machetes in power to be king and you hear very little preaching about Ezra Chef because he wasn't King long because he wasn't really anoying it to be king it just fell on him because everybody else was dead Jonathan was dead and all of Saul's sons through one of his concubines named RZA were also dead you will remember whisper she is the one who found Mike the buzzards while her sons have been hanging there decomposing fighting for them to be buried as if they were legitimately one of the king's sons all of them were dead and and the Bible says that the house of David grew stronger and stronger and the house of saud rule weaker and weaker and God is making the shift because in order to bring the Word of God to pass in your life there are a lot of things that have to move you might you might be ready but the stage might not be said you might be ready but your family might not be ready you might be ready but but but your children might not be ready you might be ready but the circumstance that God is going to use to catapult you into the next dimension has to be setup God is a God of order he does things in order he does things in his own time he does things it is all the way and a whole lot of things had to happen and a whole lot of obstacles had to be moved in order for David to be king because if Saul was king by rights that should go to his son but he couldn't go to Jonathan because he was dead he couldn't go to the other three sons because they were dead and it failed to instrument chef's even though he wasn't really good at being a king a fellow named Abner who was Saul's brother he'll issue shelter up and kind of got him together because sometimes the God that gets the job really ain't that good but the people up under him make him look better than he is I have read so many resumes of people who said they did all kinds of stuff and hired them on the basis of the resume only to find out it was their team that made them look good it wasn't really them was able to do it such was the case with issue he really wasn't that good Abner was in his ear calling the shots and making the decisions and Abner was Saul's brother and because this Michelle is not good and because he was really weak his own men killed him and skilled David wasn't King and Abner slipped over and goes over and starts talking to David and he starts talking to him about taking over the kingdom because the house of David is growing stronger and stronger in the house of Saul is growing weaker and weaker think about it this way god bless his houses my god that's why it's important to be in the right house glory to God the deal didn't only falls on houses it falls generationally it falls down on your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your old men shall dream dreams your young men shall see visions God said I will bless the house as for me in my house we will serve the Lord and the house of David was getting stronger and the house of Saul was getting weaker and weaker and now is Michelle is dead and Abner who is was is Michelle sir uncle is coming to David trying to work out a deal saying I want to I want to do some things to help you because Israel really wants you to be king even though you're not King and even though you're not want to solve kids Israel the people of Israel want you to be king and this is why they want you to be king because you have been successful at fighting our enemies the Philistines sometimes the way you fight has a lot to do with you getting into a position of leadership sometimes God will allow the Philistines to attack your enemy to make your enemy need you and look at look at how God is manipulating all of these circumstances and bringing things into order causing them to come together to set the stage for David to become King and Macau is now married to someone else and David begins to talk to Abner he says well in order for this to work I want my wife back okay I want my wife back who is now married to someone else and when you read the text it's interesting because the husband that she's made to now walks her down to the end of the field weeping for her weeping for her because because the whole marriage falls apart and Abner tells her husband go home get to steppin because the purpose of God will not be aborted by the feelings of men and my camera Saul's daughter and David was smart to want her back not because she was nice not because she was good but David is knitting the house of Saul into the house of David so that nobody can contest his right to the throne and sometimes God will make connections in places that you might not even want the connection but the connection is necessary for you to gain the leverage to move to the next level and so David starts pulling all of these things together and it is in the backdrop of these realities that this text emerges but before I get into the text I want to tell you that the final straw is Abner who was making the connections got killed and David wept over the death of Abner because when you got somebody who's down for you I'm a urbanize the text when you got somebody who's really down for you and you lose him it is a great loss now Abner is related to Saul and now he's dead but he was for David and he was working behind the scenes to pull things together because there's a lot to get together anytime God's gonna do a big thing in your life big things take time big things take time there are no overnight wonders you saw them overnight but you list all the years that they were working to get to where they got stopped waiting to be an overnight wanted and suddenly be discovered it takes all of your life to get ready for greatness the weight of glory is so heavy that you have to be prepared to stand up to the weight of what God is about to put on your life I don't know who I'm talking to but I feel like I'm talking to somebody I feel like I'm talking to somebody just because you're gifted and just because you're talented doesn't mean you're ready for the weight of the glory that God's about to release in your life and a lot of things had to be done and a lot of things had to be pulled together and David finds himself in the situation where I happen there is dead and David gets right behind adness casket and starts crying and the people of Israel saw how David loved Abner Saul's brother and their hearts were endeared to David because you can be legitimate on paper but if you're not connected by heart what good is a title if they don't see you as a leader a lady told me something years ago that took me years to fully understand she said she said the people choose their thing the people always choose their own thing you can appoint whoever you want to appoint but you can't make people respect to your point the people choose their own team and when they saw David walking behind the casket of Abner who is literally of the house of Saul and David is of the house of David and David is the stronger house but he humbles himself and walks behind the casket of a weaker house weeping it endeared Israel to him see some of us miss our opportunities because our heart is not ready our head is ready for the position but our heart is not ready you have more degrees than a thermometer but you cannot get a job because your heart is not ready you know all the right people but you can't get the hook-up because your heart is not ready till you humble yourself till you humble yourself till you can serve something lesser than yourself till nothing gets beneath you until you get your heart by and your emotions by get your feelings but God will not promote you because God has promised I will give you leaders after my heart God chooses people by the heart not their head we choose people by their head and then we live with their heart but God chooses people about their heart and then he equips her head because if your heart is right I can get your head together but if your heart is not like oh you don't hear what I'm saying I don't care what's in your head it's not going to help me and David was a heart sort of guy and God understood that and God trusted him and God knew that David was weeping behind the casket of Abner and God let Israel see his heart and they melted before him and God set the stage and as God begins to set the stage he's knitting this opportunity together because he's about to give David the fulfillment of a prophecy that happened to him when he was a kid some of the things that God telling you when you were a child you're just now coming into the place for God to do the things that he prophesied a long time ago they shunned a little water I have to watch it because I feel prophetic there are some things that got whispered to you and your youth and all of a sudden the stage has just now said certain things had to happen circumstances had to change certain people had to die certain people had to move certain things had to share but God is getting you ready to do something at this stage that he told you a long time ago I set you apart and I called you for a purpose and I'm gonna do something in your life be not weary in well-doing for you shall reap in due season if you fight not I hear the Lord saying it I don't know who he's talking to but somebody in this house God has selected you since you were a child and it looks like he forgot you but God sent me this morning to tell you I have not forgotten you I have not forgotten you I had to move something I had to change something I had to break you I had to save you I had to make you but you're about to step into your season about to break forth in your life who am I talking to in this way and when David is so we've been at the funeral of a blur everybody from the house of Saul as God accepts lost daughter who has made an agreement to take back in marriage so she can't take the throne because he has married my girl he's brought her back who would want my tailback hateful as she was just like her daddy she was your worst nightmare but she was necessary [Applause] sometimes you got to be able to work with people that you wouldn't really want to work with but in order to get what God has for you it's necessary my god I don't know if you can handle this somebody shout it's necessary yeah yeah I can put up with it cuz it's necessary if it takes us to bring the purpose of God to pass in my life I'll take you back to your nag and a hateful shelf you've never did like me you're just like your daddy but if it becomes necessary I'll take your back because once I take this throne I don't want you coming up talked about I have a right to the throne no I'm a married man I'm gonna bring my enemy closer then I brought my friend and he brought my chair back look at how smart he was look at how strategic he was you can have a prophecy over your life but you're still gotta be smart enough to maneuver yourself into a position to protect the prophetic word over your life you got to let some people go and take some people in to protect the prophecy that's over your life you don't hear what I'm saying to you and I have to set all of this space so you can understand that David didn't just wake up one morning and says is there anyone left of the house of Saul he's removing the competition he's clearing about the obstacles he's making away for the prophecy that was given to him as a kid to come to pass in his life and he doesn't want anybody left of the house of Saul that could rise up once he moves into position and claim rights to the throne and he says is there anyone left at the house of Saul that I can show kindness to kindness to my competitor kindness to my would-be enemy kindly to somebody who could contest the prophecy over my life sometimes you get to be nice I don't know I'm talking to but your prophecy has been delayed because of your attitude and this is a second week that God has me talking to you about attitude and if you hurt last Sunday I'm gonna lay this on proper last Sunday's message because God is dealing with blood spots in your life because you fell out with people that you go lead to bring the vision to pass and you got to be bigger than that you got to be stronger than that you got to learn when the wheat and you got to learn whether it be tough some things to do as a liar and some things to do as a lamb Christ didn't redeem us as a lion he redeemed us as a lamb you got to know when to be tough have you got a load with so he calls either because either was at the house of Saul example was not at the house of David he was at the house of Saul and sometimes you need the inside track so he calls Ivan says is there anyone left at the house of Saul to whom I may show kindly he didn't ask anybody in the house of David about the people in the house of Saul he wants somebody who's inside the house of Saul and he says either you are part of the house of Saul is there anyone left don't worry I'm gonna be nice I want to show kindness to and they said there's nobody left except Jonathan's crippled child and he's down and lo debar and he's laying in both his feet now that brings me to the only person left that could get in the way of destiny the only one who was feel connected to solve that would have any legal arguable right to take the throne david says bring him out a little bar now you know mephibosheth mephibosheth it's Jonathan's child the one that the nurse dropped running trying to get away he was a 5 year old boy and she had him in her arm and she dropped him and the way she dropped him he fell in such a way that he was laying in both his feet he would have been king but he was laying in both his feet he would have been a successor to the throne but he was laying in his feet he would have been living in the palace that David was living here but he was laying in both his feet he would have settled his Father's throne had been a rightful heir but he was laying in both his feet I want to talk to some lame people this morning I want to talk to some people that could have been should have been would have been but somebody dropped you I want to talk to some people that ended up in a situation that wasn't even your fault but somebody you was trust in here dropped you in such a way that they left you damaged for years is there anybody in here that knows what it's like to be damaged for years to be damaged for years to be broken for years to be twisted for years to be mangled for years to be trying for years to be nervous for years to be traumatized for years that before they knew what PTSD were Mephibosheth had post-traumatic stress disorder the emotionally crippled physically crippled his strength is crippled his self-confidence is crippled his self-esteem is crippled his ankles are crippled and so he moved to lo debar can I take my time with it he started to get good to the right now he moved to lo debar I went down in the Lord oh boy he was the right person but he was in the wrong place he was the right person but he was in the wrong place lo debar is a place it means had several minis one of them there's no pasture no passion there any do you understand no pasture there's no grazing place and lo debar whereas David had been promised in the 23rd division of song that I'll lead you be into green pastures David has green pastures but River Chef has no pastures and he moved him at the Lord of our because Lord of our also means no communication and when you've been dropped bad enough you can't talk about it when you've been dropped bad enough you don't write notebooks you don't tell no stories you don't testify about it when you've been dropped bad and I fit a shut your mouth have you ever had something hurt you so bad it shut your mouth it stopped all communication all communication you internalize the pain you don't verbalize the pain you don't have the words to communicate how you feel that's what a bar trapped in your own head remember what you wish you could forget and there you are at loadable all dressed up smelling good got all them stiletto pumps but people don't know you're walking around in lo debar driving your car it lo debar going to work it'll or debar got married it lo debar had a baby it lo debar never told your stories never could never would couldn't find the words to express it or explain it what would people think if you told them it's not my fault up like this it's not my fault I didn't I wasn't born warden to be lame like this I wasn't born one to be weak like this I wasn't born wanting to be incompetent I wasn't born wanting to be afraid I wasn't born wanting to be weak I wasn't born wanting to be a problem I wasn't born wanting to be unstable but somebody dropped me there are some people in this room you you would have been a Dean or a professor or a bank president or scholar but somebody brought you you would have been leading a team of experts or scientists or an inventor or lead or preacher or pastor somebody Drudge and when somebody drops you you get to the point that you don't say nothing and the silence is as painful as the fall but today I'm gonna bring the South today i'ma break the sounds because the silence is brought about by shame and if I can break the shame I can break the silence God is about to do a new thing in your life God is about to do a new thing in your life because you're the right person but you're in the wrong place I'm gonna work this thing till I get it done I was at an event the other day and they were talking about economics for underserved communities and they were talking about how the skill sets had to change in order for underserved community should be competitive in 2020 and they were talking about the classes that we ought to be taking on what the degrees are to be here and how technology is going to take over and how people who are making decent wages are going to fall into the quagmire of utter poverty not because another race of people are coming here but because computers and Technology are going to take away your positions and in the course of the conversation somebody said to me I know that's right because I was in my hotel room and I ordered a toothbrush and a robot brought it that robot took the place of somebody else's job and technology is coming there we're talking about how the bottom has fallen out and so they started talking about how can we get the skills to the people that need them so that they can remain competitive but where I'm a power this together and then the conversation as it progressed said it's not enough to give them the right skills they must also be in the right place because they forgot the right skills but I'm not in the right place I won't be marketable not because I'm not gifted but because there is no demand in my area for what I am still there so I have to be the right person now but I also have to be in the right place my friend chef what's the right person now but he was in the wrong place ah get ready to tell somebody pack your bags you got a move for what God is getting ready to do it your life you got to get out of the bar touch seven people try to get out a little bar get out of Lourdes all right get out get out get out get out of lo debar get out a lot of hours get out a lot of are get out of lo debar get out of lo debar get out of the load of all right get out of fear get out of solemn get out anxiety get out of being nervous get out of being intimidated get out of being insecure get out of being afraid get out of waiting on somebody to discover you get cuz you got your cute dress off and you don't want nobody that low and you try to catch them tears before they falling out of your face but for the size you are you shouldn't have the problems that you do but somebody drops [Applause] and the truth of the matter is you can't get out a little bar by himself you can't get out a lot about himself but the good news the good news is it's when David a sniper where is he he said he's in the house of a mile and he's down there lo noir God sent me here today he knows exactly where you [Applause] my god I feel like Sheldon everybody else might have forgotten you but God knows exactly where you are everybody else might have thought you'd never be loved but gods kept you old hole for such a time as this and the Lord should be here today yeah I got your address baby my preacher 30 seconds of crazy crazy [Applause] the Lord the Lord saw was a good-looking man he was tall and strong and strapping and he looked like a king Jonathan was a good-looking man when David met him his heart was led to him he was fine he comes from generations of fine people but he's sometimes other people's success only underscores your defeat and when you're surrounded by people who did and you didn't who went and you couldn't who rose when you fail you don't even look like you can he didn't look like Jonathan he didn't stand like Saul but he had the DNA of a king [Applause] I might be living in the raggedy house but I got the DNA of a key I might be pushing a broom but I got the DNA of a key I might be backed up against the wall but I got the deity in the key check the records check the record check the record track your neighbors they check the record my situation does not describe my identity [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] feet don't even show and the Lord told me to tell you he's got you covered watch this and I'ma close [Music] I had put together my message and I didn't have a sudden I said Laura you'll give it to me when you give it to me and I got up and I got ready to go to bed and he said go back turn your phone off cuz I put my notes in my phone and he said call it to come back here I said why you want me to call it the comeback kid I could see that mephibosheth wants to come back kid cuz he made it back to the estate from Lola bar but dr. James just before I fell asleep the Holy Ghost said he ain't only come back here he said David also was a come back here and see when you are a come back here you are drawn to come back kids nobody else would have had compassion on it but because David had got a promise when he was a child and because David had been dropped out of his blessing all of his life - when he got a chance to bless somebody the driving force behind the blesser is how they had DNA with the one they are trying to bless you ain't a good preacher because you're smart or educated or articulate you're only a good preacher because you're broken [Music] cuz the only person that can restore a broken person is somebody that's been broken too a witness so one come back here rich batch I grabbed another come back here and brought him into a blessing because as David came into the palace and became king he had received a blessing that he rightfully did not deserve but because God had given him a promise God had switched everything around that was necessary for David to make a comeback so when you see David dancing [Applause] when you see David get the Ark of the Covenant and dance out of his clothes and Mikhail is looking out the window fussing at him cuz she don't think it's appropriate for him to act like that there's somebody got their hands on me hips looking funny of you right now but if God lets you make a comeback [Applause] I don't care how they look at you coming you better praise him anyway [Applause] if you praise hold it if you praise him right now God said I will respond to you [Applause] and the love you fade up if you praise him right now I will restore it I will restore [Music] I don't think they heard me if you praise him right now God said I will restore everything that the devil stole I'm finishing I'm finished I'm finished but that's a neighbor's a neighbor excuse me like you though who you are [Applause] the service is in your hands the services in your head every River in this field you
