[Music] hi guys I'm some Gormenghast welcome to Asian at home and today I'm going to show you how to make tell you polka or spicy pork bulgogi as known as you know spicy pork or whatever you call it in Korea we caught a poco or to a cheaper cookie but usually it is even though it's a pretty kooky cookie doesn't mean it is sweet so it's a space if you go give mean it just meet the cook on the fire so yeah let's get started usually this about my time did I say usually already usually cheapo come as red and spicy and like so good it's a one of Jacob's favorite Korean food so yeah I'm really excited and takeover so excited he actually made the rice already back there is it going it's probably gonna interrupt me very very soon but anyways let's get started first the thing is the first we need to trap ten cloves of garlic because my mama said Korean foods no good if you don't put enough garlic so I actually shared my tape oakum recipe like a long ago a couple few years ago a few years ago and those recipes actually I use a coochie John Korean red pepper paste good anyways my all the Chinpokomon recipes calling kochujang Korean red pepper paste but this recipe only kochu karu there's no cuts tongue involved and this is actually my favorite favorite favorite chicken style because when I growing up my mom always makes sheikh hakam with dau coochie Chang and it just is still red and really spicy and delicious and my mom can you make Jim poker with our coaches yeah well can you make you poker without question I always have you know order anyways my garlic is good to go now I'm going to slice up some large onion three to four green onions I'm gonna cut in two two inch long pieces and because of this is possible you will need some chili peppers to put it in I choose to use a serrano and red chili but you can use a jalapeno if you want that all said I know if you're going little bold bring a mixing bowl we are going to make the best sauce for Korea spy support first or the chop the garlic oil tablespoons of a good Chuck karo Korean red pepper flakes what you dong is something like a you cannot really substitute but Kucha Peru or this recipe you can actually substitute oh wait red pepper flakes if you want to use that actually that will do the job two tablespoons of mirin season the rice wine do the tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 and 1/2 tablespoon of fish sauce 2 tablespoons of plum extract it smells so good I will put the link down below where you can purchase this exact the same bottle but if you want to make it like tomorrow you cannot wait then go ahead and use two tablespoons the same amount of apricot jam or apple jam two tablespoons of sugar because we need to sweeten this up some black pepper mix everything together and let the sauce actually sit like this so for about five minutes in five minutes the sauce will actually get a little more thickened Oh coach Chicago will orbit over all the moisture from the sauce the soy sauce fish sauce mirin that we added in here so hold the pole today I'm using thinly sliced pork butt like this I got this from local Korean market but if you cannot find this no worry so you can just slice just a pork pot from the regular grocery stores it's the size that you want like a little bite size if the thickness doesn't matter you can make actually little victor is actually more meteor fide if you prefer that's delicious as well properly also great for this recipe I'm not sure about pork loin is it too lean I think a fattier cut works better for this recipe I'm gonna add the pork into the sauce if you're using can you slice the pork like mine make sure you separate them individually okay it looks like ah it looks like a little too much a sauce for that amount of pork oh by the way it's a one and a half pounds of pork he looks a really spicy don't worry because we are adding the whole entire one lot of green and a curried onion the onion slice the onion that it will dilute it not to loot it out the sauce but it won't like you know make sense after now I'm gonna add the onion you see now I always like you you know mix up the sauce with the meat first and then as the onion no right now it looks like a lot of onion but remember onion cooks down you know a lot whenever they cooks cooks down a lot whenever they cooks it doesn't make sense but anyways so we are going to let it marinate at least to 20 to 30 minutes or up to overnight especially when you're using actually more thicker bigger chunk of the poor I recommend it to marinate a little longer but my meat is very thinly sliced so about twenty to thirty minutes will do the job my pork has been marinated about 20 minutes and they look fantastic smells fantastic I'm about to die right now because I wanna eat it's so bad so I'm gonna hit a large skillet over high heat and add about a tablespoon of oil honey I'm so excited and how they send up I just can't hide it I'm so excited I just can't hide it vanilla I'm excited I'm about to lose control and I like it I'm about to lose control and I like it I think I like it know those other things I know I like it all right my hand looks good nice and hot I'm gonna pour all of it [Music] hundred at all I'm gonna head it off a lot of the guys I asked me about this pin right here that I cooked like garlic shrimp lemongrass asurim and garlic noodles and all that I got this from Target I'm not sure if they're still selling exact the same pan or not but yeah I got this from Target [Music] I don't know what to do with myself right now [Music] I will be cooking my pork about 10 minutes now I'm going to add all the green onions and the chili recorded earlier [Music] [Music] [Music] losing myself delicious man I'm gonna plate my poor but I'm gonna decorate my play with them you know good in matters like [Music] by the way this will be really go with notice to inside instead of a rice but rice is like the way to go for Korean food and I finished the with little drizzle of sesame oil sesame seeds because you do not want to put the sesame oil in the marinade I mean you can really taste it that much anyways in Korea we like to actually make some which is a lettuce wrap with this that's what I'm gonna do I mean before then let it let you eat it right mr. Buckner [Music] and that you're megan i love onion and if it is know about this in Korea when you make me already strap there's no take a bite of the leather strap never litigants overrule it in your mouth one shot one kill I trained in the right country to take a huge fight if you rolled a little bit and started craving some food to eat where I was this Korean food and if you like the recipe please give me this video thumbs up subscribe my channel if you happen to not miss out all the delicious new inspirations of Asian home cooking i'm thank you so much for watching me today remember you can always cook Asian food at your house making it easy and fun and some young guys check up along gasps I don't know why I'm too overall calling bean pepper look histogram but he's there in the world and this is Asia at home and if you make my recipe please take a picture and tell me some jong-hong guys on Instagram and Facebook so I can shut out I can love and comment on your post okay I'll call you I know you in wishing waiting noise taken taken taken baby [Music]
