[Music] hi i'm hambit and i'm a pastry chef from [Music] korea hi everybody it's hamburg here in this video i'm going to show you how to make the best matcha latte matcha latte better than the one from starbucks well how is this recipe better than other matcha lattes when matcha latte is essentially just matcha and milk the secret is in this vanilla syrup if you want to find out more about how to make vanilla syrup please watch my previous upload this vanilla syrup has been made with real vanilla so there's nothing artificial about it and it really has that deep vanilla flavor vanilla pairs well with matcha in terms of flavor pairing but in this case of my matcha latte the roll of vanilla is not only to add vanilla flavor but also it smooths out the sharpness of the matcha because matcha can be aggressive and bitter the way i'm going to make my matcha latte is i'm going to make a matcha base and add that to the milk so i've got milk over there and for the matcha base i've got vanilla syrup sugar hot water and matcha have you clicked like and subscribe the matcha i'm using today is from jeju island and some of you may have visited jeju island in korea i actually received this package yesterday and i haven't even opened the packet and yes you can see that it's matcha from jeju island so i'll weigh this out wow look at that look at that matcha powder look at that green matcha powder look at the color honestly anything from jeju island tastes good including the disju tangerines when all this covert situation is over i recommend you visit jeju island it's a popular tourist destination and you know it's just simply paradise making the matcha base is actually very straightforward it's a matter of mixing all these four ingredients and making sure that the matcha dissolves completely however dissolving matcha completely is not an easy job it creates lumps just like pectin if you've been watching my channel and especially those videos on tarts you would have noticed that i used a lot of pectin when making fruit coffee and remember what i did with the pectin i always mixed it with sugar rather than using pectin alone because pectin creates lumps and i'm going to use the same trick here by mixing matcha with sugar and then mixing that together and dissolving it in water so sugar and matcha mixing sugar and matcha together like this will help matcha dissolve easily in water hot water and simply mix [Music] great now i'm going to add in my homemade vanilla syrup so there's my matcha base done it's a bit runny but that's the way i like it because it's going to mix well with milk if you're worried that your matcha might not have dissolved completely then just put it through a sieve i'm actually going to pour my matcha base into a squeeze bottle before pouring this onto my icing milk and you're going to see in a minute why i'm doing that and this is a technique that's going to make my matcha latte look so amazing [Music] preparing ice and milk [Music] now the final step is to pour my matcha base onto the icing milk but the way i'm going to do it is i'm going to pour it by drizzling along the side the inner side of the glass and that's going to create a really nice effect now watch this [Music] so [Music] well what do you think that looks so much better than a standard matcha latte doesn't it wow that's really good i can't really feel the vanilla so i'll take another sip if you really focus then you can taste the vanilla so i think this is the right balance when you drink it it's meant to be matcha latte the vanilla is meant to be sort of hidden but it does its job of smoothing out the bitterness of the matcha which is perfect hope you've enjoyed this video on amazing matcha latte just buy matcha and make this it's so easy and it's delicious i'll come back next time with another amazing beverage recipe thank you very much kam [Music] i tamida know if you know yet i've tried some time
