[Music] one of the best burgers in Los Angeles can be found at this busy pop-up and Silverlake [Music] best burger in LA no question this reminds me have more than anything is like if McDonald's burgers were good you say anything else gold burgers is my favorite burger in Los Angeles I've had a lot of them and I swear to you these are the best I am a full-on fan I am so excited they have a semi-permanent six-month pop-up here in Silver Lake so let's go check it out it's day two of this pop-up in this space and I know people are going to be going crazy for these burgers let's go go burger had its first pop-up in the fall of 2018 and has been selling out of cheese burgers ever since people love the grass-fed double cheeseburgers smashed on the grill with onions smothered in American cheese with your choice of sauce I started doing burgers just for like backyard stuff for my daughter's first birthday just kind of came from my love of burgers and buying burgers cookbooks from like George Motz and stuff like that no it was just an Instagram account like taking photos of burgers I ate while I was working and then I you know start cooking in my backyard and people liking it and really good feedback and like we're like really positive feedback so it's kind of getting me excited about it and my friends own dinosaur coffee and just Jeff down the street from here and I decided to hop up there and people came and people ate burgers and people like that and they just kind of spiral they kept going and I kept trying to push it the core of like the burger is the meat so I really spend a lot of money on really high quality meat and I really put that as like the focus for flavor cuz that's what comes out the most we're kind of rich with burgers in LA a lot of options this is my first full burger amazing it tastes like a perfect backyard cheeseburger that makes me feel like my family's here and my friends and these are all my new friends the cheeseburger was like invented in Pasadena right like the first place where like cheese was put on a burger but I think like burger is such an easy thing to eat in the car in LA you're not looking for like a big kind of like pub restaurant burger because you're always on the go you're in your car you need to pick up food drive-through eat while you're moving and it's just a really easy thing to eat and it's just like a perfect American sandwich people must really like it because Allen can sell over 500 cheeseburgers and one weekend Goldberger offers three kinds of double cheeseburgers the classic the gold burger and the LA special the special comes top of pastrami which weirdly is a very la thing I flip every burger in all the way outside the crystals on these are literally my two favorite burgers Jesus a super doing good and like it's pretty simple like it's not fussy I love the cheese I love the devil patty the bun holds everything in together and like the smashed onions in that burger make a huge difference if you don't get these like holes of straight onions as you take a bite it all comes out like super clean it is like Messi said that you could walk around eat this burger this is an LA driving walking around on a burger each patty is it the right amount of char on it but still it's like medium rare on the inside well just sort of hard to do good stuff man I got to come out I think a lot of the other like smashed burgers kind of go too far it's like eating a meat paper just not enough stuff there so like when you bite in you're getting pickles you're getting the dice onions but you're not actually tasting the meat and sometimes the meat is actually not super flavorful either so I think that's the main discerning factor it's good it's like herping it's perfect balance what they remind you of the time has to be a fancy a Big Mac that's what I said that's hairs now fine a pop-up is just all-encompassing it takes over your life there's like there is no downtime even if you're popping up one day a week you're just like spending the entire week getting everything organized and logistics or just a nightmare so just spend a lot of time take load of time so is a permanent location and the cards for Goldberger who knows we did really well on opening day so hopefully hopefully it'll keep going [Music] I'm sorry you said this day this is too he's got earth
