foreign [Music] along the last video we were on Mount Blanca which is definitely one of Colorado's deadliest Trails last night we stayed in Alamosa we came up through Bonanza this morning and we're gonna do the Bonanza Alpine Loop on a Colorado secret Alpine Loops that almost nobody knows about everybody knows about the one down south Silverton urea that area they don't know about this one so that's where we're gonna hit it Bonanza foreign six years old didn't live very long back then [Music] look at the size of this Mill shazawi and it keeps going up and up and up and up so at the graves a lot of people died in the 1920s so I wonder if that's when everything stopped around here was in the 1920s chop suey that's where they put the people that gave him grief you work or you get thrown into the pit it's crazy to me that I just left it there's still a lot of money here in Lumber and recycled goods and nowadays can you imagine like this is millions of dollars worth of lumber nowadays well it's one of these poles that I sell to rich people to put in their houses as like barn wood you know yeah look at that log behind you the size of that bad boy the vastness of how big this thing is I'm glad it hasn't been completely vandalized like a lot of stuff or broke down from weather that happens too they just left that tube in there in case somebody was still down in there [Laughter] I got a green chili burrito in Alamosa because green chili in Colorado is good once you're south of Pueblo geographically that's where the green Chili's at anywhere from there down into New Mexico trust me as a guy lives in South Dakota the farther north you get the green chili goes down banan's Alpine Loop has lots and lots of Minds there's tons of Mines here I know if they mine for gold probably silver copper and other trace minerals I'm sure I'm not really sure when the town and everything kind of dispersed I think there's only about 20 or 30 people that live in Bonanza year round nowadays and it's a pretty small community that the area is not really well known it's not traveled a whole lot um I usually see anybody out here it's usually a couple quads or something like that and that's all I've usually ever seen out here every time we've been out here to wheel this area we're not going to have enough time to experience this all today [Music] foreign [Music] big rocks in and it would just kind of sift down and sort everything large rocks smaller rocks and Pioneer dust and as we've been finding trash and stuff we've been throwing them in our bleeping Jeep trash bags pick up your bleep and trash get them at bleepinjeep.com oh man I hope you guys can see this time I try to get to focus this is absolutely amazing look out there there's mold burner right there we're gonna come up over here to the Overlook but it's a pretty steep climb you definitely want four-wheel drive for this [Music] we're about to go up uh a really steep Rocky Shirley Hill Climb how often would it be if I just got out of the car and stayed down here let's watch him go up and see how it is this is Steam this is steeper than it was when we did that recovery with Matt's off-road recovery up on the Tower Road in torquerville oh my gosh and kind of the same deal no trees anywhere the only difference is I've been up here and I know you can turn around up here on flat ground left-handed Rock throwing competitions look at how far it went yep just dance guy okay oh okay good job honey oh yeah we got this tell me another Alpine Loop that gives you a view like this oh yeah she's mine though so it's a bit windy up here what but the view is beautiful Lean Into The Wind Lean Into The Wind but I think this is our cue to get off this mountain 's headed this way [Music] so last time Shannon and I were out here she walks right over to this one door an opossum jumped out right on her head and then ran up down the hill I didn't know there was even possums in Colorado it was the craziest thing I've ever seen it but it was either it was either a possum or the largest gray squirrel on the planet with crazy Fang teeth just saying [Music] we have exited the forest and so we headed out from the Bonanza Alpine Loop towards the town of nathrop from there we turned up towards Mount Antero to try to find a place to camp for the night because we knew we had a busy day in the morning and exploring around Antero and then hitting one of Colorado's other deadliest trails and the name of that trail is Grizzly Lake we're gonna go find a place to Camp as the dark is coming it's soon approaching what time is it seven o'clock we'll see what do you think uh I glad that I'm glad we have a pop-up tent it just goes it makes me happy what about the Bears are the Bears Gonna Get You kind of chewy I don't think they'd like it so much I collected [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] all right guys it's getting dark we're still going up or just passing tree line now it's getting colder by the minute coming up this high good morning this is our campsite very beautiful it's not that cold but I'm covered head to toe because look at this there's thousands and millions of mosquitoes just just haven't SWAT them like this huh that was a thousands yeah thousands of Millions they're just all over foreign [Music] then we're rich get your hammer and your chisels see that that's just water no all right so there was a little mine up there but otherwise Dead End Road now we're going back down and see what other kind of Adventures we can get into thank you [Music] [Music] last night we stayed in Ontario today we're on Grizzly Lake this Trail is rated an 8 out of ten right next to it is iron chest these are two of Colorado's deadliest Trails I chose for us to do grizzly Lake over that one we are on a time crunch and this is what we're gonna do that looks pretty hard over there I don't know about this one foreign holy smokes so Colts having difficulty in this built Jeep with uh one tons and lockers front and rear on 40s so I don't think I'm going to be able to follow that I guess we'll see what happens here but might have to do some winching if I want to get up through here my Gym's already been through the ringer don't break it it's also not running good at all it's running on about four cylinders now uh we've had um coolant coolant is just disappearing somewhere I'm assuming there's a head gasket issue and it's leaking into one of the cylinders and fouling the spark plugs or something thanks foreign foreign [Applause] [Applause] foreign foreign so the interest of grizzly Lakes gotten a little different since I was here last there's more people more houses you do have to cross a section of private property to actually get to the entrance so you got to be really respectful there but this Trail is still very very bold Airy very very Rocky and very very steep as you can see it's hard to tell but there's a rock here there's a cliff there's a cliff there is a big rock right in the middle of the trail here that doesn't look very fun and then there's a rock sticking out to go around ab workout s right there good job foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] crap this Trail is really steep you gave a lot of altitude really fast and these River Rocks just kind of fall out from under your tires the whole way up so coming down it's not so bad because you can kind of just keep gravity in your favor but going up it is really tough because they're spitting out as you're trying to climb and it's just shifting you left and right left and right as you're trying to climb up these rocks it also doesn't help that Matt's Jeep isn't really running right and I have a rear air Locker leak and I noticed that my brake fluid's low and I don't have any brake fluids so we're going to try to make it through the trail it's only about an hour and then we're going to have lunch and work our way back down with weak brakes and a hurt motor [Music] this look here is about as close as you're going to get to the Alaskan Tundra style look without having to drive all the way up to Alaska foreign Avalanche here I think I had to cut them to make the road s this is this is the part of why being part of a four-wheel drive Club is good four-wheel drive clubs that maintain these Trails come up here and they'll open this back up so that people can still enjoy it so Matt and hopes JL is not sounding real good it's uh actually starting to sound like an Eco Diesel and we may have to move on to the rest of this this adventure in one Jeep hopefully we can run into some people to come Wheeling with us then there's another way smart to wheel just uh with one Jeep that is Grizzly Lake straight ahead Gosling's ginger beer keeps me strong right here [Laughter] [Music] I can maybe find a find a bear or something on the road a lot of people that live up here there's a race called the Leadville 100. leadville's at 11 000 something feet and they race a hundred miles at that on your feet Yeah a hundred miles the most dangerous part about this Trail is probably the first half a mile or so and it is just Rocky and it's on a cliff Edge and that's where you could definitely go off the edge there's been Jeeps that have went off the edge same with iron chest is the same way and that's why I consider two of these to a color in those deadliest Trails because Jeeps have one off the edge people have died miners have died and they are two dangerous trails that you better have your equipment ready to go if you're gonna come do them and you definitely don't want to do them alone if you are going to do grizzly lake or iron chest ideally you want to do it before noon you want to get going up before noon because in the afternoon people are going to be coming down and there isn't very many bypasses there isn't many places to meet up where you can run a rig side by side so it could get really really weird trying to abide by the the person going up has the right-of-way rules it if if the person coming down can't even spend their tires and spit in rocks trying to back up the thing I love about these Trails out here is as a kid you know my dad used to tell me about all these trails and he'd take us out for a wheel and then give us all the stories you know and the stories are what make make it even more more epic is when you have stories and I think that's what just motivated us to get outside me and my brother got us in the Jeeping and got us into four-wheeling and got us into being outside just uh living life and seeing what's out there so that's uh that's really what it's about [Music] foreign so we're coming back down Grizzly this is the one spot that I always remembered as a kid with this rock right here that stuck out and as you're sitting there bouncing up and down the road you'd bounce off to this edge here because you'd have to get close to the edge to get around this rock the Trail's gotten a little wider since I remember but Jeeps were a little narrower then too what do you think about it maybe you just got bigger since the last time you were here it is sketchy coming down this it's kind of all the rocks are loose you hit the brakes and you still go for a little weight so yeah [Music] like that JLo booty [Music] [Music] so Matt's got a few issues going on with his Jeep the trail was rated at 8-10 it is definitely one of Colorado's deadliest trails along with iron chest which we weren't able to do we're just out of time what would you rate this Trail oh man so the fortunate Trail and that the one obstacle is right up front and it's the hardest obstacle I think there was only one other obstacle really on that which was kind of at the end of that climb there with the Shelf road but uh I'd say it's it's a good eight out of say they got that one accurate I wish there was a few more obstacles along the way just to give it a little more excitement though yeah yeah I agree I think Trail's gotten a little wider over the years but it's definitely definitely dangerous and it's very beautiful you get to that Lake very pretty out there but make sure you guys stay tuned because the next one we're gonna hit is Colorado's deadliest Trail check out our t-shirts at bleepinjeep.com and watch these videos right there we'll see at the dealership let's get that fixed
