good people i have had this case for months and the only reason we've been delaying this review is because the stock situation was so bad nobody could actually buy the enclosure and so we didn't want to tease you until now you can buy the case in north america through newegg.can.com although be careful there's some discrepancy in information uh in fact the cases are identical but it almost seems like they're not one is better than the other but i think it's time to give this one a proper review shall we the meschalicious mesh and delicious that's the whole thing with the subt now pricing is a bit all over the place here the full mesh case will go for 119 with the pcie gen 3 riser or 189 for the pci gen 4 riser which is not yet available nor is sold anywhere else while the tg version is slightly cheaper at 109 with the pci gen 3 riser cable now sub is a system brand from liam lee stands for sunny side up design and their whole slogan is to make pc building intuitive pleasurable and fun and i feel like they achieved it with this thing here but of course it's not without its challenges let me tell you that right after a message from our sponsor extra 5mz1 size rail a unique project and a very unique mouse designed by rocket jump ninja for better aim after testing more than 250 mice zai knew what a mouse needed for maximum aim potential but the shape did not exist so he teamed up with extrify shaped his own mouse and loaded it with top tier components that means pixar 3389 sensor klgm 8.0 switches and the new easy chord pro on the lightest extra five mouse yet a killer in the right hands try it out for yourself on extrafight.com welcome back first let's begin with the size this is a 14.67 liter enclosure mini tower form factor made entirely of steel it's smaller than the h1 and much smaller than the new ipad power vault 3 really like the compact nature and all the hardware that it can accommodate next up is the design and the two color options are pretty nice i normally prefer white frames over the standard boring black but here given all the mesh exterior i would choose the black one any day the full shell is perforated giving you a small glitch into the interior now at first i was worried thinking just how much is exposed through all the sides but once the system is assembled and closed it's a pretty case from all sides especially when you sync up the lighting appropriately i really like the clean style and ease of access with these tools panels all around although be careful with the tg version since the steel mounting plate is glued to the glass and on my sample it just came off as i was removing the panel it's really meant to be placed on the motherboard side for that hardware showcase although to be honest i really don't like it and it will require some serious cable management for it to look pretty especially on the white model since the interior is also fully white and this type of color would pop any black hardware of course this perforation will also act as a dust barrier but keep your expectations in line and occasionally dust this thing out the only branding we see is at the rear it's just stamped into the steel this might be a cost saving practice but also subt don't exactly have the most logo friendly branding anyway the i o is straightforward with a clicky power button very nice a single usb a port and usb c gen 2 port now keep in mind you still got to use that bulky 19-pin cable for that single usb-a port but the cables are up top right beside the motherboard for easy routing all right so the interior is really freaking interesting i'm excited i'm not angry and i feel like it would serve as a blueprint for future itx designs because of that clever modularity approach so let's start with the radiator support at the front which can accommodate a 280mm radiator size with thickness up to 63 millimeters if you're using any 120mm mounts there's actually a pre-installed bracket for that with some height adjustment since the top of the radiator is very close to the i o cables so i move my radiator slightly down to give me a bit of flexibility and what's cool is that you can either have the tubes exit from the top which is better for power supply clearance and here you can remove that metal top piece so the tubes don't kick anywhere or you can route the radiator with the tubes exiting from the bottom thus giving you the more optimal flow configuration with an all-in-one cooler there are some atx power supply size restrictions with the tubes exiting in the bottom which is something subbed has made clear in the full spec sheet speaking of power supplies it's installed below the motherboard with sfx sfx l and atx units supported and what's cool is that the floor can house two ssds regardless of your power supply size is just a matter of access afterwards plus the sfx bracket has two positions one lower and one higher to accommodate a dtx motherboard or if you need extra reach with your short cables for example and also there is a slot in between the unit and the motherboard tray to house a third ssd the atx power supply is massive as you'd expect and eats up a lot of space here quite intimate with the middle spine and the only thing you need to worry about is the length of your unit in relation to what cooling you're installing in the front and those specs are listed here but still it's a very impressive utilization of space especially for an itx having an atx power supply at the bottom uh of course with some limitations but still it's a good design in my books now if you are air cooling you can do dual 120s or 140mm fans at the front and for cpu tower coolers up to 73 millimeters are fine so no problems with like nhl 12s for example but here's where things get interesting because the middle spine can be offset to accommodate a four slot gpu thus squishing the motherboard area a bit so in this four slot mode cpu coolers up to 53 millimeters are supported with sfx or sfxl power supplies only speaking of gpus full specs are listed on the screen which is a really impressive layout so nothing interferes with that gpu chamber but you probably already have noticed the three vertical pci slots at the top of the case and that is to house a small gpu while giving you more storage space underneath so included is this cage for four ssds or two hard drives that mounts below the sff gpu and the drives are facing the proper way towards the power supply for easy routing now at first i thought this was a brilliant design given the modularity of the riser cable but unfortunately the included riser cable is not long enough to reach the motherboard in the sff mode so this option is unavailable out of the box also depending on the length of your sff gpu front cooling compatibility will vary so if only the riser cable was three and a half centimeters longer this configuration would have been possible by default and i don't blame subbed for it because including that hard drive bracket of like that single piece of metal is probably no cost at all to them but including an additional riser cable would have been more expensive but i still wanted a slightly longer cable maybe by default so that you can utilize both vertical and horizontal gpu without needing to go and buy your own riser cable for standard gpu installation to the most part it's very well done with a fully accessible chamber two mounting points for security although the bottom of the pci slot is not as easy to reach with that thumb screw but i'd still recommend it to add more confidence to the mount unfortunately since the gpu io is bottom-facing we have very little room for cables and we all know how long those dps are i should have rephrased that this means whatever cable you plug into the gpu it will raise the back of the enclosure what the hell perhaps this would not have happened if the case feet were basically non-existent so this is a really disappointing start to the assembly plus the mounting stem for the pci area is too chunky to allow cable to go in and the included 90 degree hdmi cable is somewhat appreciated but it's way too short to use in the real setup now interestingly they offer 3d printed schemes for taller feet that would alleviate any issues with displayport cables sticking out on the frame but i wish that slightly taller feet were included in the box to eliminate any of the challenges with cables now luckily soft have built in this solution to allow you to move up the riser cable and the gpu mount all together to give you more height for those display cables so there are three positions in total and i went all the way up to have the cable properly situated unfortunately this resulted in another unforeseen challenge where the riser cable bulged out because of the now higher gpu and the slightly misaligned angle so it doesn't cause any issues as far as i can see but if you are installing an atx power supply you will need to press that one in hard also this isn't something to worry about but given the orientation of the graphics card and where it's mounted it's going to sag a little bit even in vertical orientation now for the final system look i went with the down facing tubes an sfx unit and those sleeve cables surprisingly this was one of the easiest itx systems to route because all of it is done on the motherboard side and with plenty of corners to stash away cables the middle cable type points near the gpu are a little bit hard to reach with the radiator right there but all in all a small pc that i'm very satisfied with especially from a cooling standpoint when you orientate the front fans to intake air and this gives me the best cpu temperature in the stack and slightly better temperatures for the gpu versus exhausting air and i'm actually going to transition from my ibuypower ryzen system into the meshliches because it can still accommodate all the exact same hardware uh but at a much smaller footprint and with much better temperatures also regardless of this whole mesh design it's still a cooling barrier as having no panels on the case drops our temperatures a little bit so what to say i really like the mesh delicious for a clever interior layout and back-facing motherboard io that is so thankful for that because that is not very common among towering itx cases all the power supply options are awesome the fully modular gpu chamber both in height and width is pretty innovative and that whole front section is open for radiators and fans the few small details i don't like all revolve around the tiny feet at the bottom uh when it comes to like routing your display cables that will bulge out underneath unless you raise that whole gpu mount the riser cable is not long enough for the sff mode and can we please get dual usb a ports especially when we're using the full 19 pin connector anyway other than that i'm gonna finish on the positive note this is a damn good case if you're looking for an itx towering form factor that is both performance compatibility focused ease of use i feel like the subbed mission statement is exactly reflected in their first product and the messalicious gets my full approval i'll be using this thing from now on maybe even as my main case i don't know who knows i'm dimitri thanks so much for watching check out this other
