all right guys this is it this might be my final straw with Kubota [Music] all right so you guys are new to the channel let me fill you in a little bit about me and this lovely's machines history because we have some history together let me tell you so right after I bought this machine I lost an injector in it and that ended up being a pretty big ordeal because Kubota decides they need to make injectors um for them the only place you can get them is from Kubota they are ridiculously expensive and the reason they fail or what I've been told is because they have a filler neck on this thing that produce a type of rust that the filters didn't catch and wipes out injectors there's a whole video on it uh if I think about I'll link that video in the description so what was after that like two or three months after we had major engine problems well we had my adrenal problems again and this was a faulty bracket I'm trying to be nice here I'm trying to be nice I'm doing my best to be nice but there is an entire video for that if I can think about it I'll link it in the description if not one of my awesome subscribers will put it in the comments and I'll pin it but uh some how do I want to describe this individual that uh I think my exact words in the video was I'm a dumb hilljack from Indiana and I could have done a better job designing this bracketry the bracketry that holds the DF filter or DPF filter and all that stuff up there it's horrific like I never like I've never seen anything engineered so bad in my life until today we'll get to that in a minute but it's horrific anyways it vibrated around blew a hole in the intake which seems to be a somewhat of a common problem with these that was uh ordeal in itself two-man job but today lucky for you guys bad for me the Kubota Engineers outbid themselves we found a whole new problem I'm trying to be nice here but for the love of whoever I don't know how you can be that stupid I'm sorry I just don't I don't get it so let me um stay with me let me tell you what's going on so if you guys can't see let me show you outside here if you guys can see we have a winter weather Wonderland going on out there we got about three inches on the ground maybe we're expecting uh what eight to 16 inches I bought this snow plow like five or six years ago never used it so I thought hey we'll get the old snowplow out the leads and see what's going on obviously the machine was sitting outside on the job we did shovel the tracks and did everything we needed to to make sure she didn't get froze up so uh I thought well I'm gonna pull the machine in the shop let it get warmed up let it get be thawed check all the fluids make sure everything's ready to go so whenever the snow's done I'm just going to hit the door drive out start plowing snow it's a great idea right really good idea oh no Kubota engineers said no that ain't gonna happen that's not gonna happen we're going to make you earn your snow plowing abilities with our machine so we bring it in here have it sitting here on the floor and I can't help but notice we have an oil slick that has never appeared before this oil just started appearing and it's coming out of the most random spot ever so we're thinking oh we got a cooler line looser we got something going on got a cylinder leaking no so let me draw you a picture first off let's point out the obvious this machine moves dirt I don't care how good operator you are it's gonna get dirty number two this machine lifts dirt up to a height and I don't care how good operator you are some of that dirt is going to fall out and fall back on the machine it happens and if you're a bad operator like me it happens a lot so Kubota thought it would be a great idea to install a dirt funnel and this is what I'm talking about so you guys can't see that in there but they got Steel in here that goes like this and like this and guess what there's no way in the bottom there's no way for dirt to feed out the bottom so you got a light so I can demonstrate their stupidity I'm sorry Kubota I'm done I am done I'm done playing nice because you guys can't be any smarter than this I will never ever own another orange piece of equipment in my life so what has happened is they have created a hole and I even I put a nice little tray here for dirt to go in can you guys see that in there look down in there absolutely flipping ridiculous so what's happened is over the years Dirt has went down in there it's probably filled up on this side to about the right here it got cold outside that dirt froze dirt perfect didn't know any better raise the arm up snap the hydraulic line off the side of the cylinder at least it wasn't me I'm trying to keep my cool because somebody's going to comment well you should run better maintenance you should have did this you should have done that save it you're not going to change my mind anybody that's dumb enough to design something like that on a piece of equipment that holds dirt that raises dirt up and it can't come out I don't have no I I'm not going to say anything at all so I don't have nothing nice to say at all there's not even a way that like you can't even pressure wash that out of there like I don't even know how we're going to get the dirt out of there like put a darn hole in the bottom of it or put something up there to keep the I could go on like I said I'm a dumb Hill Jack from Indiana I got a lot of ideas thousands but this is my final straw with Kubota I'm done after this equipment after this thing leaves the fleet I'm pretty sure Never Say Never I'm never going to say never there may be a chance I own another orange one again but it's a long shot I'm telling you people it's a long shot okay so now blood pressure down all right we're good all right guys so now oh huh I don't know what this is so stupid I don't even know how to start fixing it I'm trying to be nice guys I'm trying to be nice I'm trying my best to be nice hey good news I do have good news it's at least in the shop and it's warm and it's warm but Kubota seriously Kubota seriously I mean seriously like me and him will both agree operating this machine we don't mind operating it but there is so many little stupid things that I know all manufacturers got them but I'm done with Kubota sorry Kubota this video is not sponsored by Kubota all right so this is our plan we got to get this fixed worrying about it's not going to do us any good um this thing comes straight off the basement job over in Kentucky I think I covered it on that job it was a muddy mess it was a rough environment it is what it is I don't think we were asking this machine to do anything it wasn't um designed to do but I think Aaron's going to start attacking this thing from the top side I'm going to try to start attacking this thing from the bottom side I think we're gonna have to pull the uh I think we're gonna have to pull the radiator out of it and pull the battery out of it there is a hole there is a hole on the side right here that the hydraulic hose goes into but it's a far cry from being a clean out hole so uh I don't know I guess we'll get the battery pulled out of this thing what we think has happened is there's a metal pipe welded to the side of the cylinder and when that dirt froze it caught on something and it's either cracked or broke that metal pipe off that cylinder we do have our safety prop in so we've got that going for us but uh he ready to start to you ready to start undoing stupid I just I wish this thing was you know 20 years older and it was mine because I know what I'd do got a hole inside of it do what Kubota should have did from the factory somebody's gonna call me we'll just cut a hole in the side of it that's not the point design it right in the factory and I don't have to cut a hole in the side of it it goes back to the whenever I complain about putting oil while complaining about putting oil in this piece of crap or I complain about putting oil in the GMC 8500 to look boil a photo I shouldn't have to buy a funnel it did let me let me show you this this is this is 1990 technology held in any engine manufacturer I don't even like and they are smart enough to put a tube on it and bring it up here where you can fill it up sorry guys I am fired up today this thing has just really struck the nerve with me why should I have to do that they should design it at the factory that is basic Elementary engineering period it's all it is basic Elementary engineering that right there proves the guy that designed that thing right there has never cleaned out a belly pan a day in his life and he should have no right designing that period I don't care how many bam degrees he's got from whatever fancy colleges he went to he does not have common sense and I'll argue that to my grave okay why do you keep firing me up I I was on my way down I was on my way down and you let my fuse music I may get red time to time all right rant about this is not going to fix it we're going to dive into this thing however you dive into that pocket that semi Engineers you can't get into and we're gonna attempt to fix it thank you [Music] oh it's hard to see down in there Aaron's been taking the vacuum cleaner and got some of it out of there if I pulled the battery out of there and uh the more I take apart the more frustrated I get on this thing see if I get you guys down here and see what's going on so the battery sits you guys better sits right here that's the hole over there this hole here is pretty high there's another hole down below there but uh Kubota decided to use the battery as a dam to hold the dirt in to make sure everything didn't fall out so we're gonna have to take this battery holder out of here and you can see all this dirt right here this is all dirt that's fill out of that hole it's come down through the dirt funnel that's what we're going to call it we're going to call the dirt funnel all that dirt right there has come down through the dirt funnel into the engine bay so I mean if I was going to funnel dirt that's exactly where I would want it to funnel to is straight to the engine bay um I mean I see no issues with that at all uh the more the merrier in here so let me let me get this battery tray out of here and then there's another hole you can barely see it right there that's the hole we need to get to you could barely see it because they decided to put a hole in there if you put a battery in front of it to make sure nothing comes out the hole that's uh yeah I start shoving dirt off that hole no quiet over there well I'll be a lot easier for me to just shove it out your way and let you get it out to me trying to suck all that out it'd be a lot easier if somebody Kubota had a brain and we never had dirt in there they may have been using that for a dry compartment I'm sure there's a lot of smart people working Kubota just not the guy that designed this our girl or whoever it don't matter to me [Music] okay I'm gonna get this battery tray out here I gotta find the bolts first because they're covered in dirt [Music] let's see what's behind tray number one [Music] the bottom of the dirt funnel can you see me yeah all right now I kind of shove dark to you yeah I don't want you to but I guess you can oh yeah the dirt funnel is working great bud bring her on down I mean seriously people seriously foreign have you ever seen anything [Music] crazy man that is freaking crazy a little better maintenance prevented this I personally have only clearly for over 30 years I've never taken a flashlight and checked for dirt cavities I mean I've cleaned out belly cans and a lot of other stuff but never in my wildest dreams I ever thought that would have been a blind hole and even if you wanted to pressure wash that out I don't know if you could [Music] but it's been in there more than six months [Music] all right let me help him get that cleaned out we'll get our eyeballs in and see what we got foreign foreign High School when your teachers started to teach you these lessons like you should really uh do your research or like you should really think before you talk or you should assess the situation before you make an opinion let me guess you're wrong I'm not gonna say I'm wrong but there's possibly a trapdoor down here I don't know how let's see here see if this magic nut does anything hold on oh hold on oh come on see ya got a hammer or pry bar oh look at that oh they gave us this little bitty sliver it's allow dirt to fall out that hole can you see them through there now oh greatly yes you know what this is well this does not change my opinion on Kubota engineers at all I'm assuming they didn't want to get a stick up there to accidentally knock the dirt out so they put a I don't know yeah I mean come on people I didn't realize there was a door down there and I'm sure some of you already screamed in the comments we'll just take the door off the bottom this thing is a joke about like the dirt funnel they built back there but anyways good news we got the dirt out of the funnel we're gonna try to track down the leak and find out exactly where where it's leaking at oh yeah this works a lot better man yeah go straight out the bottom yeah we got the battery out of this thing we had to get into the hole to clean it out so we may take the crane and take the prop out and just kind of let some pressure down on that cylinder and see if we can see where it's oozing out at that's probably going to be easier than putting the uh that's probably gonna be easier than putting the battery back in don't you think yeah because if something is wrong we need to fix it uh we're going to need that well the debate's going to be whether or not we need to pull a cylinder out or not if it's just that fitting down there maybe I'll pull it out putting the O-ring in if the fittings broke we may have to uh pull that whole cylinder out there to work on it so all right I said we hook the crane to her and uh take our prop out and just kind of let some pressure down on it all right I got a lot of plans see if any of that work so here's kind of the setup guys Aaron's up in the lift we're going to take the crane take a little weight off that I'm going to take the safety prop out go ahead that thing means business now I've come with our plan let's let her sit there for a second maybe she'll bleed off enough we can uh get that prop out all right didn't manage to get the safety prop out Aaron's going to let that down a little bit we're going to come over here hold on just a second Aaron get my hood open back up we're going to come over here with the light see if we can get both our heads down in here see if we can see where that thing's leaking at all right come on down with her come on down come on go on down foreign all right let's let her sit there for a minute and see what she does I guess hold tight be patient all right guys I don't know if you can see in there we may end up getting off a little bit easy can you guys see where Aaron's got that wrench at right there where that fitting goes into that cylinder it's hard to see but that's what uh coming out of here it's a feeling like this and what it does is this part here threads into the cylinder then these threads here you tighten up and it changes the angle of this I believe they call it a boss o-ring fitting I guess whenever that dirt guy froze it turned that and broke this nut loose which is now not holding that o-ring in there so uh we're gonna attempt to since this thing wasn't actually ran had a lot of pressure around that we're hoping that O-ring is not damaged so we're going to attempt to just tighten that up go ahead Aaron if you can yep can you get another bite on it maybe we turned her quite a bit Yeah well you got your wrench stuck don't you yeah I can't see them okay there you go ahead I'm gonna hold the hose while you turn that hose is uh it's kinda it went a little bit does that matter nope you're good yet keep going is that all you got yep that's it okay come off come on off of it uh I guess I need to clean that off real good with the uh air hose and Brake clean and see what we got unfortunately that didn't work I don't know if that elbow is cracked or the O-ring is bad but either way we got to get that out of there to find out what's going on um again if an engineer that designed this was worth the crap this would have been a very easy simple task but oh no oh no we gotta make it way more complicated it needs to needs to because we don't know design stuff so let me show you what's going on now this here you guys look down in here it's so hard to get you guys in here I'm sorry can you guys see right here is this elbow we need to get out but oh no look it won't turn because it hits the pinballs down here so now that means we got to pull the bottom pin out of this cylinder we're gonna pull the bottom pin out of this cylinder to get the hydraulic fitting out of the bottom of it which is absolute asinine there is no reason why they couldn't put this pin this hose a little bit higher put it over here a little off to the side of the 45 degree angle there is like 15 easy solutions to that not being an issue but uh oh no we can't use common sense so I have no idea how hard that pin is going to be out of there get out of there if you guys remember some previous videos on this we had the air Lance some out so we're gonna pull the keeper out we're gonna hammer on a little bit we're gonna see what happens and go from there I've learned one thing from the last time is to not let you swing the sledgehammer well that's true you ready yep oh my goodness oh no I can't believe it yeah can you get this thing back out now yeah right it'll be close nope don't go forward anymore uh go raise up on it just a little bit okay let me make sure they'll get a hydraulic oil bath here what's up yeah I'll go easy keep going keep going oh I might get her hold on nope okay got it foreign I'm not sure if this thing is cracked from the stress or if we just got a bad o-ring or what's going on but uh we're gonna clean her up real quick here in the parts washer give her a good inspection and see what we got [Applause] all right guys we got this thing cleaned up me and Aaron have both looked it over one thing we can find around with it is that O-ring is supposed to be round and it's actually well I'm not sure what shape that is so we got two options one we can put a new o-ring back on this one and try it or two we can take an hour-round trip to town to Blizzard and get a new one I'm gonna go with the safe bet may not be the smart bat but the safe bet is to try to fix this one so let's throw an o-ring on this real quick and see if it fixes it I guess there's that washer down there stuck oh okay I mean that thing's been pretty bad okay it ain't round no you feel like a Kubota design probably could be all right guys there it is we got the new o-ring on there I had another fitting over there this side was right but this side was wrong so I ended up stealing the O-ring off it which means it should be a proper o-ring design for what we're doing I'm gonna go back in the hole down there you guys see me took it take it out I'm not going to make you get claustrophobic and get back in there again so let me get it in there and then we'll get the pen in all right guys we got the fitting back in down there now we got to get this pin lined up which may end up being interesting so uh Aaron's gonna guide me and I'm gonna try to drive her home all right you ready yep the problem I'm gonna have is being able to get it yeah [Music] okay inch oh hold that get close okay foreign that actually went pretty smooth yeah it did I cannot believe it all right so I guess I need to get that hose hooked back up and see what she does well guys down there in the whole of Misery we managed to get the hydraulic hose back on the keeper pin back in everything hooked up and connected I dug a lot of dirt out there by hand one of these days when it gets a little bit warmer nice sunny summer day you'd pull skid pans off this thing and clean everything out but we can't do our crane test on this one because there's no hydraulic oil left in the cylinder it all come out and we took that fitting out of there for some reason so we're gonna take our chances we got her fixed we're going to slide the uh battery tray back in put the battery back in pop the radiator up and uh give her a test run see what happens Aaron actually pulled the door off this one he's going to go down in there and uh we're going this side here is not near as bad mostly because it's open over here on the back side and it's funneling everything into the belly pan stupid uh one of these belly pans get full of dirt so fast on this thing they got two big dirt funnels going into them but Aaron's going to get that side punched out the bottom get everything cleaned up on that make sure we don't end up the same issue there follow this girl up and see what happens [Music] foreign [Music] I got all that put back together everything's good there Aaron has got this side cleaned out you guys see how much is in that side there white as bad we're gonna leave the doors off the bottom I don't see no reason to put those suckers back on but uh we're gonna get this thing disconnected from the crane fire it up cross our fingers and hope we don't have any leaks all right far in the hole the only place I can see it's from the top so I say cycle it up and down then I'll check it anything dripped in her pan so that's good four times all right I'm going in I think we got her I want to sit there with a Goomba for a little bit hope this restaurant and see what happens but uh we'll check fluids in the machine thank you all right everything is cleaned out picked up I think we're going to put the snow plow back on this thing pull this dirt ball forward and clean the floor so so far so good no leaks yeah feel better about your Kubota why did you just started I love it hey I still love my Kubota [Music] oh man you've had on purpose good operator could have held that just a 30 second off that floor and took that mud with him he fought a good operator you let me know someone have to look for one I tell you what the guy who poured this floor did a better job than the guy made the straight edge plow it's a mess all right let us get us let us give it up here real quick and we'll wrap this one up oh man I see a trip no you don't I do we'll just hope it don't multiply yeah it's open now at the bottom all right well guys there she is as far as we know back in operating in functional order good news we did not get any more drips on the floor so I think we got 10. I think we got that covered so I uh we did check the hydraulic oil in this thing it is a couple gallon low I don't have the right oil here in the shop and there's well I make believe blizzard going on outside everybody around here likes to acts like the world's coming to an end and we got a dusting but uh anyways we decided I'd throw the town after the oil if we need to plow snow we got enough oil ones to do that and we can can move forward so I appreciate you guys listening to my rant at the uh beginning of this I know every manufacturer has issues like I just described I've found with Kubota they seem to be a little bit more numerous it's not just on this machine I also owned a u35 Kubota Excavator ran into a lot of the same stuff I've owned a bx22 series tractor right into a lot of the same stuff I do think this is a mechanically sound good machine we love operating it's one of Aaron's favorite pieces of equipment to operate it's just hard for me to get over the aggravation of crap poor a piss-poor engineering uh simple little things like bolt placement orifice placements openings I mean things that don't cost this manufacturer any more money to do can just I mean this this breakdown fortunately didn't cost us a lot of money or down time no it took us about two hours from start to finish I had the O-ring here in the shop which is a couple of cents but if for if this was on a job and that happened that could have been a five or seven hundred dollar repair for somebody uh just because I'm gonna blame it on engineering crappy engineering so uh it is what it is will I ever own another Kubota machine again highly unlikely I Won't Say Never would I recommend this machine for somebody I won't say it's a bad machine I mean it's but I I think I think I can do better next time uh I'm gonna get a whole bunch of comments what will I buy next I don't know maybe this is as best as it gets and I just don't realize that that's legitimate possibility so uh and one other thing I want to point out this is a six-year-old machine uh I don't know this is a 90 the 95s they may have addressed that issue they may have learned from their mistakes and it may be a mute point at this point I'm talking about what I got guys and as always I'm going to be honest with you um the performance of the machine I'm tickled to death with the balance of this machine I've never operated skid steer to have better balance than this machine but I just can't that stuff right there a dumb stupid Hill Jack from Indiana knows better to do that these guys ought to be smarter than that and that's what aggravates me I'm not that smart a guy but I'm smart enough to realize that's not uh not supposed to be done that way so anyways I'll stop around I'm done I'm over it I still love my big orange Beauty I told you you can buy it and I'll borrow it that way if it breaks down it's on your dime you know you won't bring up cost I mean it's a good thing this wasn't a Sunday because I'd be charging you double time then it could have got costly he acts like I pay him jokes on you so anyways that's it guys that's a wrap uh appreciate you listening to me rant for a second I had to vent I kind of I gotta talk to you guys I gotta fit I gotta get it off my chest I'm good now we're all over it we'll uh we'll move on to plow snow another day and uh catch you guys on the next one yes we will foreign
