Isnβt it triggered by NFC?
I would assume that the W1 or H1 chipsets are capable of BLE or ToF (time of flight) and that would trigger the contextual pop-up. These Chinese copies probably have knockoff chips in them. It could even be UWB. NFC typically have a range of 10cm or less and that menu can pop up from at least 50cm depending on when and what you do while opening the lid. So my guess would be that the W1 or H1 triggers a typical AT command to the BT chipset, firing a BLE Beacon which triggers a listening process on the compatible devices after calculating the time of flight or even RSSI. If the dbA signal is fast/strong enough, the device simply displays the pop-up.
