Test Riding an 80+ Horsepower Raptor 700

okay i'm on an 83 horsepower raptor [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh hey everybody before the video starts i want to give a big shout out to sanflix for partnering with me on this silver lake you pass us so it looks cool um all right the camera's on we're all plugged in only i don't have is my gloves but i'll be okay yeah think about my helmet yeah i'm nervous man this is just this is the most serious quad i've ever ridden in my life [Music] all right i think my favorite part about this is i love the 2006 special edition it's so cool don't worry about this rattling around oh okay uh keon it's got the key mounted where the reverse spot would be well i guess that started i was trying to find neutral oh i'm in neutral so your light doesn't turn on oh wow okay i'm on an 83 horsepower raptor so first things first john case the owner of this raptor huge shout out to that guy it's always looking to help people share his expertise and this is his baby and he's letting me ride it and i feel extra privileged right now this isn't my toy i'm not used to it i'm going to be very careful here it has yfc 450 front shocks got long travel arms on it the seat just feels a little different than mine but this is a 2006 model it has flex bars with rocks anti-vibe clamps odi grips here obviously i'm not laid on it yet whoa a little bit of gas there so one thing i'm really curious about with this machine he's done a lot of handling things to it and i'm really curious about the handlebar setup and just kind of how it feels so i need to respect this thing because it's extremely capable wow i have yet to go past half throttle if that i haven't given a half throttle beautiful day here at the dunes man it's a big bummer that my raptors having a hiccup today but huge testament to all the awesome people in our riding community that have helped salvage my trip so far i'm very grateful oh it's smooth here wow dude whoa man oh you feel like a king driving this thing i'm gonna go to the left here wow you got this holy smokes dude it's so effortless i really like the way everything feels it's definitely a bit soft softer than i expected that soaked that up pretty good that was a pretty hard transition there i really like how smooth it is like you can really ride this in the lower rpms and it runs really really well like very smooth holy smokes man very aggressive when you hit the top of the uh power range there i'm very excited to be here for an evening at silver lake man holy cow i just got a really good uh sensation for how stable this thing is right there i had like no body roll at all just making that right-hander the front end's dancing a little bit i don't know if this has a stabilizer on it i kind of like that it's quieting down out here it gets so crazy here on the weekends man their mercy throttle would actually be super close for this thing because if you want to ride it really chill you can just put the throttle away from you you don't have all that on tap so fast oh i'm mugging it there it's really hard for me to tell what gear i'm in on this thing it's just so different from mine i definitely uh can feel some of the anti-vibe stuff working in the handlebars setup it's subtle but now that i focus on it it is pretty cool how you know relaxed i can kind of ride with my hands here whoa oh i just felt it move forward that felt weird dude should i take in the bowl since i'm over here wow let's see losing my bearings a little bit it's really rough over here but hey that's a good spot to test this actually yeah dude it's like suspension for your hands man it's pretty crazy how rough this is but holding on isn't that challenging wow that's rough dude i've never ridden a machine with an extended swing arm i forgot to ask him how long this i'm was the longer wheelbase is kind of making this feel fairly foreign for me wow dude that was nuts to pull up on that it's so smooth like even if i were to romp on this it hits hard it's not like a wicked power man i mean it's like it's manageable you know not gonna take it through the water wow that might be all i'm going to do here that was nuts dude running this on a smooth surface it's got to be unbelievable putting all this power down it does feel like a lot of machine to manage not in a bad way but it's a very specialty build quad i mean you can definitely use this all over it's a really cool build the way he's got it set up but this thing is made to go dude that was cool i think i'm starting to see more of the effects of the big anti-vibe setup he's got get on a little bit here wow dude it is really fun man thank you so much john oh man that's so cool wow i'm gonna bring it back this is definitely a classic case of the faster you go the smoother the ride gets it's still really smooth though with the anti-vibe stuff wow definitely not a wheelie test for this one man i'm not i'm not flirting with that massive difference with sand tires too the machine doesn't have to work nearly as hard wow this is a lot of quad dude it is i mean i got on it a few times obviously i don't know what gear i was in it's really hard for me to tell what gear i'm in on it yeah and i don't know it's a gear racial stock it can't be it is stock air ratio i'm one tooth larger on the front okay and i need to do that to mine i think i think it'd be nice maybe that's why it felt a little weird um i went over by like the new bathrooms over there it's pretty rough that was when i probably got the most effect out of this well it does and i i didn't really feel it much until i had one moment where it went forward and that was like whoa that like it moved a little more than i expected i think another thing that was kind of making me feel different on this is probably how long it is how long is the swing arm it is six inches and that's i think that really changes your your sensation a lot on one of these um the exit road gets all chopped out when you get on the gas on this it becomes like a one of those sand rails it just just takes it off and i obviously it can do more i mean i wasn't gonna i knew you weren't gonna tear it up like that no i wasn't gonna flirt with it but i i feel like for me to really appreciate the setup on it you kind of got to push it that hard right and you know i played with it a little but it's crazy to have that much power on tap it makes you giggle it's fun i mean it's it's fun it's like it's just it's got so much wow factor when you lay into it i mean 20 20 horsepower is a lot for me i mean that's and that's insane it's really easy to ride like for having that much power you don't feel that at all unless you push a button all the way that's what i'm saying so you'll just you won't notice it until you look for it yeah the franks and mine are pretty much really similar i mean this has a little more top end but he's got a lot yeah what is your with the taller tires on and everything i mean this has got to be pushing a 90 mile an hour quad oh yeah yeah easy it's gotta get there pretty fast [Applause] me [Music] one [Applause] oh all right part of the day man i don't really know how to sum up uh it's a long sum so i'm on frank squad now so we're on our way back we're going to come back and watch the sunset my raptors in the back of frank's trailer we have decided that we're going to leave the raptor alone so we are going to uh reach out to these guys as engine builder his name's jay with illinois power sports i think it is because uh it might be time to tear my raptor open it's uh really unfortunate but you know that's just it happens man i have no idea how the videos are going to be made from this weekend the fact that i don't have my machine changes the trip changes the collaboration with sabo sable doesn't have his 250r which is a massive bummer this guy seems to know me on his 250r man i'm not gonna lie i'm pretty tired it's been a long day i've filmed a lot of stuff my voice is like practically gone talked to a lot of people yelled over a lot of motors all day i still can't believe how great of a day i had even though the raptor uh decided to take a break how does this thing turn off what does that
