Tesla CyberTruck | Honest Review

what's going on YouTube family welcome to Automotive life my name is lucky and today we're going to be talking about does the Tesla cybertruck [Music] suck so four years ago when Tesla announced they were coming out with a cyber Tru it made worldwide news half of it was positive the other half was negative now I know looking at this car it looks like an 8-year-old designed it with a crayon and a ruler and only thing uglier than this design is the sweater that I'm wearing but that's okay I actually like the design of this cyber Tru and my sweater as well so we're going to go over all the things that you need to know about the Cyber Tru now I know all these Automotive YouTubers talked about horsepower and stuff like that you're not going to be drag racing in this car you don't need to put a trailer full of horseshit and try to do a 10-second quarter mile that's not the purpose of the truck most of these people are going to be using these are going to be soccer moms and crypto Bros driving around to their either court dates or their child support hearings so we're just going to make this fun easy and talk about the real capabilities of the Tesla cyber Tru so let's go ahead and take a closer look at the Tesla Cy truck cuz it's just like an ugly girl with makeup it's good from far but far from good let's check out some of the panel gaps now the doors don't look too bad everything looks pretty seamless we'll give some uh b-roll shots of there but I do want to recognize the front here you can see that the panel Gap is kind of off a little bit and the fit and finish is kind of loose and sloppy like your mom and so I don't really think that spending over $100,000 you should have that but I know that the stainless still procedure that they did to make these body panels are kind of a new technique that's why a lot of this stuff once they get hit it's under tension it's going to pop out so I'm more worried about what's going to happen in 5 to 10 years when you have to fix these things so for all you young people that don't remember the DeLorean it was all stainless steel but the problem was the second you put a dent in it you would pretty much total out the whole car now remember Insurance costs are rising because EVS are super hard to repair so I want to see what happens when these things get hit now I know there's a bunch of videos out there showing these things getting smacked and ran over and breaking but I'm really interested to see what's going to happen in the next 3 to four years so let's go ahead and check out the frunk to see how usable this thing is because I've heard a lot of people have negative reviews about it online not much space but let's see here crawl my fat ass inside actually I think I could probably close this no probably not I think I'm too fat for it but it still looks good now the cool thing is we have the automatic closing as we close it we can kind of notice the gaps fitting a little bit better now so I don't know if it's because of the automatic trunk but if you come over here to my beautiful smart car it almost has the same panel gaps as the actual Tesla so let's go ahead and check out the bed because every truck that has a bed is probably going to be used and I know a lot of people are thinking this just going to be driven around by soccer moms but there are some people that are actually going to drive it now everybody's already talked about the tunnel cover you could stand on it I'm not going to stand on there cuz I'm a lot heavier than 200 lb so we're going to go ahead and open it up one of the things that I really liked about this now it's not a crazy amount of space but it's actually a decent amount of space to put your stuff in I like how it's already got a plastic liner in it but probably the thing that I love the most is the actual power outlets here on the side so if you're doing any type of construction work you want to plug in your tools or my favorite you have the 220 here so you can actually jump start another dead EV which is hilarious but one thing that I noticed that I that nobody else has mentioned in these videos if you actually come over here you could see the glass window right now I'm going to go ahead I'm going to close the Tano cover and I'm going to show you the reason why this is a big deal once we get inside now one thing I noticed is as you have the tunnel cover down you know people say oh you can't see but you have your camera but what happens if you have your tools maybe some of your equipment in the back of the truck now that the tunnel cover is fully extended out there's nothing protecting this glass so if you were to slam on the brakes and you had some of your gear back here it would basically run up against the wall and possibly break the glass I thought there'd be some sort of barrier between that and the actual tunnel cover but there's not and I know this is the only video you're going to see that in now one thing actually pretty cool about this truck is it has a lot of cool stuff from unplugged performance we have these aftermarket wheels that actually look really sharp I actually had the same honeycomb wheels on my Audi R8 and my Lamborghini and the same thing with these carbon fiber fender flares I think it's a nice offset to kind of match in the black with the red so not only do you get to look at a Tesla cyber truck but we're actually reviewing one that's very unique so why take some random YouTubers opinion on the Tesla cybertruck Let's go ask a random person excuse me sir I'd like to get your opinion on the Tesla cybertruck do you think that this will depreciate faster than the actual Tesla stock is this what our friendship has become I've just become a random stranger yeah I just figured you just walked up in my yard it's okay totally not planned I would say the cybertruck's going to depreciate much faster than the stock the stock's down 25% this year but I figure in a year from now you'll probably be able to pick one up for like in the 60s I actually agree with that because I think that just like a lot of the EVS that are happening right now they're going to have a massive depreciation curve and everybody just like cell phones they want the newest latest thing I believe the Tesla cybertruck is going to have a big issue with resale and I think that this is probably going to have a 40% drop in vehicle value the next year and a half so what you're saying is Yolo Allin yeah just yolow it all on Tesla stock go for it thank you random sir I appreciate it no I know I make fun of all the Tesla Fanboys all the time but I really do like the Cyber truck I was actually pretty excited about it when it first was announced but unfortunately I think the fact that it took so long to come out it kind of festered people in a bad way I think that now that it's finally hit the market they feel it's going to be a big big hit but we're already seeing people walking away from their allocations so supposedly they got over 2 million people that um put deposits down on this car but I guess less than half of them probably less than a million are actually going to pick up their car and get it but as of right now they've only released about 1,300 units I don't even know how they're going to put out a million uh cyber trucks so it'll be definitely interesting to see I think with Supply constraints and the fact that they got to build these things a certain way I think it's going to have a lot of negative feedback when it comes to pushing these units out because a lot of the people keep complaining about the exact same thing which I've made fun of in a few of my comments was the fact of the fit and finish you know you're paying $100,000 for something like this you'd expect you know a little bit better build quality so one thing pretty neat is the actual ambient lighting I didn't really notice it too much until we actually drove into an underpass but it's very cool obviously it's something that Tesla has but I think it's a nice feature so I like the fact that the ambient color is green because always remember this if you can't afford gas you should definitely buy yourself a $100,000 EV so I've been driving to Tesla cybertruck for about 30 minutes now and I want to try to put all my feelings into one minute now I love the fact that it has a real horn because idiots have been like literally cutting in front of us here on Las Vegas Strip so I had to use it it does get a lot of attention I was surprised about that also you can notice the camera swaying back and forth the second you take your foot off the accelerator this this thing bogs down very very quickly a lot more than a traditional Tesla Model 3 or S I don't really like it kind of gives you motion sickness another thing is the drive by wire is very smooth I like the way it feels but I don't have any feedback from the road and I don't like that because as I'm driving I can feel the slope kind of pulling me one way or the other and I'd like to get a little bit of feedback from the steering wheel braking seems fine not too bad overall Comfort seems very comfortable we' been driving on the Strip lots of potholes lots of bumps and it seems pretty smooth um turn signals on the steering wheel takes a little while to get used to but all in all not that bad I thought it'd be a lot worse especially being this boxy design and with the uh loaded travel suspension this thing has I figured that it wouldn't be as soft as ride as what it currently is so right now we're just driving it down the strip we're going to take it off-roading tomorrow which will be in another video and we're going to pin it against the Smart car but all in all I have to say that I'm actually mildly surprised that the Tesla cyber truck is doing this [Music] [Music] [Music] well so my final thoughts on the Tesla cyber Tru does it suck now it does have its flaws a lot of issues some build quality things which everybody knows of that's a big thing on Tesla but the way it rode the way it handled the steering with the four-wheel steering was actually very impressive but I do have something that I'm sad to announce after driving this I'm actually going to cancel my order for my cyber truck because I actually expected a lot more I think think it was very overhyped not saying it's a bad car I know a lot of people are going to be happy with it but after driving this I just didn't get that like that wow feeling now don't get me wrong if you love this thing or it's your dream car go for it but for me it just wasn't my cup of tea driving it around Las Vegas strip not getting that feeling back from like the road and just I guess some other things it just doesn't feel right and I also think it has a really great place for anybody that loves EVS that's looking to get their first EV because to be honest with you I thought this was going to be mine but unfortunately it's not but before we wrap up I want to give a huge shout out to Dennis for driving all the way to Vegas to let us review this car so we're going to ahead and interview him inside the car because it's made you basically want to why everybody put their $100 deposit but what made you go all the way through with purchasing the car yep so I've had all the Teslas so far the model 3 the model y s and the X still have the X but kind of in 2019 just like a lot of other people I just threw that th $100 down deposit and kind of hope for the best and I figured future dentist would worry about actually taking delivery or not and got called up to take delivery and got lucky and so I figured why the heck not own a cyber truck and be able to drive it and experience it I love driving cars I think I have like car add or a little bit of it maybe not as bad as yours but uh I love experiencing cars and new things so I figured why not do you feel it's worth $100,000 definitely not unless you're like a contractor someone that can use it as an advertising piece like a local plumber or something real estate agent even 100% or a YouTuber doing some well connecting stuff because like I said we actually met through this cyber truck which is really cool um but before we go can you tell everybody like how they could find you and and like I said not very many people were very cool about sharing their
