and how did Ron get involved in a murder that was not initially targeted at him brace yourselves as we get into the unsettling findings of Ron Goldman's autopsy report and uncover the shocking truth behind his untimely demise Simpson arrested for the murder of his wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman one evening in 1994 Nicole Brown Simpson the ex-wife of o J Simpson went to eat at a restaurant with friends and family but later that night both Nicole and Ron Goldman were found dead outside her house they had been stabbed to death in a brutal attack OJ Simpson was charged with their murders and put on trial he was famously found not guilty on October 3rd 1995 after a lengthy trial Ron's Father Fred Goldman was deeply disappointed with the verdict feeling that Justice was not served some people thought that Nicole and Ron were romantically involved but it was only confirmed that they had become friends recently Ron had gone to Nicole's house to return a pair of glasses she had left at the restaurant investigators concluded that Ron's death was sadly an unintended consequence although it was clear that Nicole and Ron had been stabbed to death an autopsy report revealed many shocking details that were not known to the public before before we get into the shocking information who who really was Ron Goldman Ronald Lyall Goldman was born on July 2nd 1968 in the United States Ron grew up in Buffalo Grove Illinois his parents divorced in 1974 and he lived with his father Frederick Goldman and his younger sister after that Ron was Jewish he went to adlay e Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire Illinois he spent one semester at Illinois State University where he wanted to study psychology and join the sigma new fraternity when Ron was 18 his family moved to Southern California and he went with them he stopped attending college and started taking classes at Pierce College in Los Angeles he enjoyed surfing beach volleyball rollerblading and going to nightclubs before moving to California he worked as a camp counselor and volunteered with children with cerebral paly after moving to California Ron Goldman lived independently and supported himself by working various jobs he was an employment Head Hunter a tennis instructor and a waiter sometimes he even modeled for Barry's eldis who owned the z90 49 store in Brentwood Gardens before his death Ron had gotten a license to become an emergency medical technician but he decided not to pursue that career instead he told his friends he wanted to open a bar or restaurant in the Brentwood area he had a unique idea for the venue he wanted it to be known not by a name but by the ank an Egyptian symbol of life that matched a tattoo on his shoulder according to his friend Jeff Keller Ron was eager to learn all aspects of the restaurant and bar business sometimes he worked as a promoter at a Century City dance club called trips for Memorial Day he joined a group of event promoters to organize a party at Renaissance a club and Restaurant in Santa Monica Ron also had dreams of action and being on television in 1992 he appeared on a dating game show called studs hosted by Mark Dar Carlo before his death he had been in a relationship with Jackie Bell for almost 2 years sadly she ended their relationship just 3 months before Ron's death before we reveal how Ron lost his life did you know that Nicole was the one who called the police to arrest Simpson in 1989 it was the ninth time the police had been called to their house the assault fault on Nicole should have led to simpsons's ninth arrest we can't even imagine how many times women are abused before they call the police in 1993 there were 300,000 calls to the police in New York City alone regarding domestic violence wife beating is not a hidden problem as some say feminists have worked hard for 20 years to bring attention to domestic abuse they have worked to provide shelter support systems and change how law enforcement deals with the these cases thanks to their efforts wife beating is now seen as a severe crime wife beating is sadly familiar because some men believe they have the right to control women they want to dominate and control women and they do this through brutal violence for 4 million women in the United States it's something they face every day every 15 seconds a woman in the United States experiences domestic violence what many people don't understand is that the problem lies with the perpetrator not the woman a woman can change everything about herself become stronger and become more independent she can try to escape using any means possible but if her husband is committed to violence and she is not she cannot guarantee her safety or Freedom even with the current legal system victim Advocates and counseling it's often not enough to keep her safe from his aggression this is a harsh reality that many women face every day stories of wife beating have often been met with disbelief and judgment as people wonder why she didn't just leave but sadly more women are killed by their abusers after they leave than while they are still with them Nicole Simpson was in her own home when she was murdered even though she had finalized her divorce in 1992 regardless of whether her ex-husband was the one who killed her he continued to assault her threaten her stalk her and intimidate her his supposed desire to reconcile hid the terrible reality of her situation which is the same for every woman who manages to escape but cannot completely disappear even after ending her marriage Nicole Simpson still had to negotiate her safety with the man who was hurting her Nicole Simpson had to be very careful not to upset her ex-husband she knew that any sign that she wasn't happy to be around him any threat to expose him or any insult to his pride could make him angry and violent although it might seem like there's a clear cause and effect relationship where something she did lead to his violence it's not that simple he chose when to hurt her threaten her or follow her despite this she tried her best to keep him calm the pictures of them smiling together after their divorce should have been a warning sign not seen as a sign of his desire to get back together Nicole tried to keep the peace because no one else else could protect her from him during the trial for the domestic violence Nicole experienced while she was alive OJ Simpson's defense team asked the judge to use different words to describe what happened between them they didn't want to use terms like domestic violence or spousal abuse which are already softer ways of saying wife beating they also didn't want words like battered wife or stalker to be used it gets worse the judge refused to change the language because he knew it was important to describe the situation accurately but some media Outlets did change their language for example on Rivera live they started using the term domestic Discord instead even the lawyer who successfully defended William Kennedy Smith against a rape charge used this term but where is Nicole's voice in all of this where are her words Nicole told her mother a few months before she was killed that she was very scared it didn't matter where she went he was there the gas station the palis shoe store even when she was driving he was behind her Nicole's simple words of fear Despair and Terror which she shared with her friends and the detailed descriptions of the physical attacks she endured written in her diary are being kept from the jury these words might have seemed unimportant when she was alive because they couldn't save her but even in death they are considered unimportant they are excluded from The Trial of the man accused of killing her called called hearsay and not allowed as evidence in a legal system that has often ignored or protected the violence and abuse women's suffer at the hands of men especially their husbands 5 days before her death Nicole called a shelter for battered women the jury won't hear about this but we must some evidence of the attacks on her by Simpson that were witnessed in public will be allowed at trial but most of what he did to her happened in private the worst beatings the acts of cruelty that went on for a long time had no Witnesses only Nicole knew what she went through to refuse to listen to Nicole Brown Simpson is to refuse to understand what happened to her there's more there was a time when the law including the FBI and social scientists didn't believe that wife beating was a problem in the United States it took a long time for this to change eventually the FBI estimated that a woman is beaten every 15 seconds in the US and the justice department reached the same conclusion in 1984 this change happened slowly at first there was a frightening silence that lasted for centuries during this time men were allowed either by law or by society's unspoken rules to beat their wives then with the help of a strong political movement women who were abused began to speak out about what was happening to them and who was hurting them they broke the silence eventually enough women had spoken out sometimes using words sometimes by running away seeking Refuge fighting back or even killing in self-defense that people started to pay attention social scientists studied the problem and found a pattern of injuries and experts described it the words of these experts were important they were listened to carefully and they were often asked to give evidence in legal cases but the voices of the victims still didn't have much power they still weren't taken seriously by Society or the legal system they still weren't believed enough that everyone including the law felt compelled to help them now you're caught up with why the world strongly believes OJ Simpson killed Ron and Nicole according to a Los Angeles Times article published on June 15th 1994 just three days after his death Ron Goldman met Nicole only six weeks before they were murdered when he borrowed her Ferrari in the weeks leading up to their deaths they became increasingly friendly occasionally meeting for coffee and dinner despite this both the police and their friends described their relationship as platonic one article mentioned that Ron had borrowed Nicole's car when he met his friend Craig Clark for lunch Ron told Craig it was Nicole's car but he didn't say she was his girlfriend instead he said they were just friends according to to the book Killing Time the First full investigation into the unsolved murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman written by Donald Fred and Raymond P Briggs in 1996 lipstick was found on Ron Goldman's cheek after his death in an interview on Larry King live Ron's father called into the show and criticized freed about the book on the evening of Sunday June 12th 1994 Ron was working as a server at metaluna Tratoria in Brentwood Nicole called the restaurant to report that her mother had accidentally left her reading glasses on the table when they dined there earlier that evening although Ron hadn't been their server he agreed to drop off the glasses at her home after his shift at Nicole's request according to the Los Angeles Times Ron finished his shift and punched out at 9:33 p.m. but he stayed an extra 15 minutes to have bottled water at the bar before returning the glasses to Nicole he stopped by his apartment in Brentwood located at 11663 Goram Avenue he had plans to go out with Stuart Tanner met Sal Luna's bartender later that evening after leaving his apartment Ron walked approximately 10 minutes to Nicole's condominium now here comes the heartbreaking part Ron and Nicole were brutally stabbed to death on the walkway leading to the condominium at 875 South Bundy Drive their bodies were disced discovered shortly after midnight the police reconstructed the events and came to believe that Nicole and Ron were either talking when they were attacked or that Ron had walked in on Nicole being attacked regardless the police believed that Nicole was the intended target and Ron was killed to silence him a witness named Robert heidstra testified that while he was walking near Nicole's house that night he heard a man yelling get Thrice the man was then shouted at by another man Ron's family believes that Ron was the one shouting hey and that he may have tried to save Nicole by intervening in the attack Ron was only 20 days away from his 26th birthday when he was killed Ron is buried at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village California the Los Angeles medical examiner conducted an autopsy on Ron Goldman on June 14th according to the autopsy report Ron suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by a sharp object indicating the brutality of the attack the report revealed that Ron sustained stab wounds all over his body including his neck face ears chest thigh hands forearm and abdominal area while some of these injuries might not have been fatal on their own the stab wounds to his neck and torso were what ultimately caused his death the coroner noted damage to a major vein in Ron's neck as well as injuries to his lungs internal bleeding in his AB abdomen also caused critical wounds that's not all the autopsy report also showed that Ron did not go down without a fight the coroner found dozens of defensive wounds mainly on Ron's hands face and upper body these findings show that he fought hard to defend himself although OJ Simpson was acquitted in his criminal trial the Goldman and brown families won a wrongful death lawsuit against him in 1997 the families were awarded 33.5 m million dollar in Damages but Fred Goldman has repeatedly stated in interviews that OJ never paid either family a penny of the Judgment Simpson was tried for the killings of both Brown and Goldman after a public trial that lasted nearly 9 months and presented both circumstantial and physical evidence that Simpson killed both victims he was controversially acquitted in October 1995 in 1997 Fred Goldman Ron's father filed a civil lawsuit against Simpson the jury found him liable for the wrongful death of Goldman and awarded the Goldman family $33 million the trial revealed that people in the United States could watch the same trial and come to entirely different conclusions it also exposed the Deep divide in the country especially when it comes to the criminal justice system and the police white people and black people experience these in institutions in very different ways for many white Americans OJ Simpson's verdict was seen as one of the great injustices of the 20th century they believed that someone got away with a double homicide but in Black America there was overwhelming belief that the police were corrupt and that OJ Simpson was framed they believed that racism tainted the entire situation including the testimony presented in court so what the trial really revealed was that people can have a shared experience but depending on the color of their skin they can view it in entirely different ways Simpson was later jailed for an unrelated armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel in 2008 both Fred and Kim Goldman attended the robbery trial and after Simpson's conviction Fred Goldman expressed his satisfaction and called it a Bittersweet moment in August 2007 the wrs to simpsons's book if I did it were awarded to the Goldman family the book is a first-person account of how Simpson would have committed the murders the Goldman family was granted the proceeds from the book as part of the multi-million dollar civil jury award they had been trying to collect for over a decade they now own the copyright media rights and movie rights to the book they also acquired Simpson's name likeness life story and right of publicity in connection with the book this made sure that Simpson would not be able to profit from it the Goldman family renamed the book if I did it confessions of the Killer and published it in September 2007 through bufor books it doesn't end there Denise Brown Nicole Brown's sister criticized the goldmans for publishing the book and accused them of making money from Nicole and Ron's deaths when filmmaker Ezra Edelman won the Academy Award for best documentary feature for his film OJ made in America he dedicated the award to both Goldman and brown in his acceptance speech Fred Goldman was one of the people interviewed by Edelman for the documentary in an interview with Barbara Walters Fred Goldman shared a shocking experience he said that shortly after Simpson's acquit a stranger approached him and offered to sell him an untraceable high-powered rifle to kill Simpson or to hire someone to kill Simpson for him Fred Goldman was appalled by the suggestion and refused in another interview with 2020 Kim Goldman Ron's sister recounted a disturbing encounter she said that sometime after Simpson's acquit she saw him in a parking lot in Los Angeles while driving she admitted that she briefly considered running him over as an act of Vengeance But ultimately decided against it in 2022 Fred Goldman requested a renewal of his old judgment against Simpson claiming that Simpson still owed him $96 million when Simpson passed away in 2024 Fred Goldman initially commented that Simpson's death was no great loss to the world but he also expressed that it was a painful reminder of how long his son had been gone and how much he had been missed later both Kim and Fred released a statement saying that the hope for True accountability had ended but they thanked the public for keeping Ron in their hearts Fred Goldman declared that he would continue to pursue Justice for his son despite Simpson's attorney stating that the Goldman family would receive nothing from the estate the Goldman family decided to contribute a portion of the proceeds from selling the if I did it book to the newly founded Ron Goldman foundation for justice this Foundation provides grants to various organizations and programs that offer support to victims and survivers of violent crimes one of the biggest supporters of the foundation is Mark Goldman a Las Vegas executive who is Fred Goldman's first cousin while Ron was unjustly killed do you think OJ Simpson really did it let us know in the comments if you enjoyed
