Terrible Sonic Scratch Games Are Bad

so there's this website called scratch where you can basically program games and stuff for other people to play and it turns out there's actually a lot of sonic content on here so today we are going to be diving into the sonic games on scratch if you enjoyed the video make sure to hit the subscribe button it helps me out a lot and you can always unsubscribe later and with that let's check out some of these games so here we've got sonic advance and sonic advance 2 both of which i'm very interested in to see if they're anything like the original games this project has 131 000 views that's probably more views than this video's gonna get okay here we go yeah i don't know what i expected they have a tiny chow garden can i race my level one preparing race oh my god i'm gonna chat this is not what i expected but i am so down for this go go go all right so my child isn't you know what's even the point what's even the point okay i i've clearly lost this race please help okay thank you geez okay game start this okay it's sonic advance oh they actually kind of got the loop working that's kind of surprising i figured we would just go through it i don't know what's happening right now man oh and we can't roll i don't really remember sonic advance being like this what what wait what okay wait i just want to try and stay on the top path here if possible this jump is so scuffed and i like i don't even know that is a very oddly angled spring but also pretty convenient i didn't know he was gonna like get fat okay we just need to be careful of this enemy here in fact i think i'm just gonna take him or no we can just go over okay is that it let's go i am the sonic master so if we go to the the chow garden yeah we can use the animal that we collected there see i know what i'm doing that is he's having some like night terrors there that is quite the fast sleeping animation here we have sonic xtreme uh the cancelled game for the sega saturn i assume just remade in scratch is what this is nope please play my genesis sonic okay you know we'll play that next gotta give him a fair chance you know what's this okay let's do ice hill i guess hey wait yo hey this this doesn't totally suck okay i mean obviously it's not perfect but like it's on scratch you gotta give them some credit like for being on scratch this is pretty cool so we beat that level it was really short so let's play future city oh great this music's really loud and nice and good egg beta zone the f we beat it to the final zone of the game let's go i mean it's got the spin dash it's got it's got everything we're straight moving we're not straight moving anymore oh do you see that spike boost oh man i'm building up momentum oh there was no flagpole i just won the levels are kind of short but hey hey it's pretty cool i'm gonna go check out the genesis sonic thing so this was made by the same person apparently and apparently it's better so we'll see we actually stick to walls here dude dude this is like actually sonic i i am thoroughly impressed with this you've got him to like stick to walls when he's going fast you've got the spin dash you've got decent momentum physics yeah it's not perfect but for scratch this is very very impressive so nice job here we've got sonic 4 which i'm assuming is just a port of you know sonic 4. wow it looks just as terrible as sonic 4. it's incredible how they captured it oh oh it's okay it's like a screen based thing i you know i don't think this is how the geometry is but we'll just keep going i guess i don't really remember checkpoints looking like that in sonic 4 or being able to hit them multiple times but you know we'll just go with it that's the end of the level wow they really did a good job of showing just how garbage sonic 4 is i mean that was basically a one-to-one recreation i that was the entire game it's just as short as sonic 4-2 real real big props to this person so this is a modern sonic engine similar to the classic one earlier i assume uh already i mean sprites are a bit off but and you know i did just fall through the i you know i'm i don't know what's happening okay so let's hope i don't clip through existence okay i did it again you know i feel like this would be good if i didn't keep clipping through the entire world oh we got we got a nice little stepping on buttons usually makes stuff happen do it okay well i i fell through the man i didn't know there were so many ports of official sonic games on scratch because here we've got sonic mania whoa i can't believe they completely reanimated the title screen for the support incredible character select sonic tails knuckles okay i don't know how to select a character but i just pressed a bunch of buttons and i hopefully picked one oh i'm tails i've got zero chaos emeralds oh those tails are looking a little bit a little bit bigger than usual there but it's fine you know it's fine with that noise can i even fly i don't think so please tell me i'm gonna get a bounce off that okay good all right awesome i won oh wait there's more levels here different music i think the background looks different i almost oh i think i died okay i don't think characters have special abilities at all so i don't think i can glide okay well this game takes a thousand years to load and there are no checkpoints so i'm not going to be playing more of it okay this is sonic 3d if this is real and if there is actually a 3d sonic game on scratch i i don't know what i'll even think okay here we go you know this title screen is giving me really high hopes does this count as being 3d uh yeah i think so actually no this definitely doesn't count as 3d i can only move on two axes uh so overall uh false advertising bad game our score just went over a thousand you know this hasn't got any harder in the entire time i've been playing it so i don't think there's any difficulty curve whatsoever or that it ever gets harder so i could probably just sit here and do this for the rest of my life here we are with classic sonic dash this is giving me some this title screen's giving me some crazy flashbacks back to the sonic flash games i don't know why so it's it's kind of like why does i was i boosted somehow oh you can stomp and then you get a boost apparently here's something i appreciate uh they're using the sonic 2 beta running animation because the sonic 2 beta running animation looks so much better than the actual sonic 2 running animation look at how cool this vortex looks i have no idea why they changed it this was quite a while ago on my channel so i doubt anyone remembers this but i made a sprite animation one time and in that i used sonic 2 sprites and the only beta sprites i used were the running sprites because they look cool as heck so that's my rant about the sonic 2 beta running sprites yeah this is pretty fun i guess i feel like i could just do this forever because the stomp is kind of like broken you can pretty much just stomp the second any hazard goes under you and you'll be safe oh oh my god that's absolutely brutal okay overall i mean that was a little bit boring but for what it was it was pretty fun i got 449 let's see what other people got 258 oh my god frat frazzy mac from four days ago i like almost doubled this man's score 256 i am so much better than the average player 389 wait did i beat that yeah 449 all right snoofy i beat you too sonic forces yet another port of an actual sonic game on scratch it's not a game it's just like artwork which is cool you scroll down first comment is tara finn ben 10 saying personally i think the game itself is the best sonic game ever terrafin ben 10 is absolutely insane this is really just like a reminder that there's actually kids out there who played sonic forces and enjoyed it because like that's just crazy to me sonic lost world this one looks kind of cool actually all right here we go windy hill one whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa even better than sonic lost world sonic 2 expanded this actually looks like some pretty cute artwork so let's check it out all right here we go i'm i'm excited okay i've always wanted to play sonic 2 you know first time ever playing sonic 2 on scratch let's go i'm excited hey this doesn't suck oh my god when you go to the file select screen it like adds a new instrument to the song that's really cool wait mighty ray mighty and they're adding more characters when was this last updated let's just play sonic i guess all right here we go i am i'm i'm pumped oh okay the ground is just black i think this literally is the layout for emerald hill zone though and the artwork is like pretty nice like this looks like sonic too and it is the layout for emerald hill 1. i don't really know the limitations of scratch when it comes to like tile sets i mean tile sets don't exist but like i i don't know if they can actually get the artwork i don't know but yeah this like this is emerald hill zone it just doesn't really look like it they've got parallax in the background this is so cool signpost it goes straight into act two this is act two now what the heck okay this is actually so cool because this is actual emerald i know it doesn't look cool it looks terrible they even have a little effect when you go in the cave or was that i don't even know i don't think there's a boss okay i know i've said this a thousand times but this is like this is really cool whoever made this like you did good this is scratch i don't i don't even know if you guys understand this is scratch okay it sucks okay i'm gonna level with you all here the reason that i respect what people are doing here uh i might have made my own scratch sonic game one time so my old name on youtube is billybob9876 in case you didn't know and a lot of people on scratch do like animations instead of just games so i may i made my account name billybob9876 underscore games because i plan to make a separate account for like animations or something that never happened but if we search this we get we get my projects so this was my first project magical cat uh this is just some random thing i made with the assets but if you note here i'll say my next program will be a sonic game here's what it sounds like in case anyone was wondering really really good stuff here but here you can see my ultimate masterpiece sanic notes and credits all sounds made by sega i made a game ooh why did i say ooh i was like three years old no this was only four years ago that isn't that long oh no so here we go this is before i knew anything really about programming before i was really good with anything like this i was like oh i'm gonna make a sonic game on scratch this is this is my glorious title screen uh for sanic press space to start i think is what he says next except it takes a thousand years all right here we go so uh you can hold down left and right to move and yep and then you can press up to jump except then you like fall this is gonna take a couple tries i think this you lose screen is really glorious though i tell people to look at my youtube channel that i currently have 2 500 subscribers and then i left a link but you can't click on links in scratch so you'd have to type that in manually okay so the weird thing is i just like move you a certain amount of units when you like press it i'm pretty sure so then to jump you have to press up and then press like right or left to move also i think i'm gonna die here yeah that's really fair and fun okay wait i'm actually doing pretty good this time so you can't be moving and then press up because then you don't go anywhere you have to press up and then move and then you like fall i didn't know what i was doing man and i remember when i was making this game after i finished it i like i looked up like sonic games on scratch to see my competition or whatever to see if mine was better so i'm pretty sure that classic sonic physics thing we played that one earlier in the video i think i played that around four years ago which is it's crazy so yeah i don't know i'll leave a link to this in the description if any of you are interested make
