i know you guys are always asking for updates  on some of the older stuff and there's   two of the seven out of virginia there's one of  the two out of houston and then the uh we talked   about this one last week this one came a long ways  this week you guys helped it on this thing as well morning you already got your  coffee huh i did outstanding   but we got a good old-fashioned coffee  walk today we do and that uh we've got   three of our old school cars we rescued  months and months and months ago   and we'll update our couple jeeps that we actually  showed recently but we have seven warehouses that   are now officially full that is true so we've kind  of cut down on our travel schedule a little bit   and i hate to say we're cutting down on buying  because we're not but i have to be more selective   right now because we've got to get some of  these in up and running and driving and on to uh   the next owner for somebody to enjoy the next  museum but alex has been hard at work on three   of the vintage cars recently let's go check those  out first which one do you want to start with   uh you to tell us what you do the  el camino first cool el camino   uh i don't know if you guys  remember when we first got it now the bumpers and everything when they  stored this car we're all wiped down   in vaseline to preserve it okay the underneath  side the car is clean um back in two things hi but we tried to fire it up it wouldn't fire no dice so we ended up winching on the trailer  well it turned out to be the points so went   ahead and changed that spark plugs plug wires just  fluids went through it all really um you read off   the carburetor too didn't you yes i did now this  thing was untouched until eight years ago when a   shop which will remain unnamed a local shop there  kind of messed with it and did some pokey stuff   yeah they did so we went ahead and undid what  they did made it a lot nicer than it ever was uh   got it running and driving beautifully like  it runs and drives as nice as our core niche   and i believe yeah it's crazy how well this thing  it drives like brand new we've got a driving video   for you but they changed the hose class which  drives me crazy yeah me too they changed the   belts and hoses so you found some date coated  belts and hoses i did got the right hose clamps   rebuilt the carburetor it just runs and dries  fantastic clean the engine bay which it needed   if you remember we were there we first  picked it up and had seat cover on the   seat that had never been removed it's  had a seat cover on it this whole life look at that seat steering wheel is perfect it's  not cracked that's perfect   it's gonna be great to get  this one out in the public   of course you removed that as soon as we took  that off wow these seats are amazing and zach   has got an incredible set of photographs you  did on this truck so there'll be a link to those   um we've tested i've driven this thing home four  or five times i really drive anything that much   i notice you've driven it quite a few times  it drives amazing it is so much fun to drive   the paint's original on the truck we found one  touch-up that was back here that was poorly done   it had been touched up right here so alex went  inside the tailgate you can remove this panel   removed this panel pulled this symbol off  these letters off took it back to gustavo   the color match is insane because all  he did was fix this area and then he   lightly sanded the whole thing and just blended  this spot yeah you can't even tell from this panel   into this panel even in the sun you can't tell  his blend but other than that the paint on the   truck's original and that drove me nuts yeah  so i don't know if it was done at the factory   at the dealership or what but somebody had done a  touch-up right there it was just just not nice the   bed is is exceptional in this thing and like alex  said it runs and drives just fantastic fire it up so the motor i mean look at the ipod  it's just it's like a brand new truck now the only thing that we couldn't find was  the spare we do have the jack and the jack   handle which is not in it now because it requires  a spare to hold the jack of the jack handle right   the other things we changed is the guy put side  exhaust on it eight years ago yes he did we pulled   it off put duals on it never did find the hubcaps  in the warehouse unfortunately the guy just makes   it helped us with all this stuff he went back  and looked and looked still confined so we   found a new set of hubcaps we went ahead and  put new tires on it even though the tires were   eight years old and they serviced it last time  um and we had to do the headliner because the   headliner had a big cut in it but it's perfectly  done but i still think it's one of the most   original definitely the lowest mileage el caminos  on the planet it just turned out fantastic i   noticed you have a big smile on your face when  you're driving because i love driving this stuff   and when you drive one like this and you're  sitting it's just like brand new yeah it's like   it just puts you back into that era at that time  it's when they first got a new rolled it off the   showroom floor it's just it's just amazing this  guy took care of this thing right yes and then   it had the vaseline on all the chrome  all around the lights everything 1402 actual miles unbelievable well we our plan on this is to make it  look exactly like the day you guys got it   it will look brand new just like  it rolled off the center line that is okay we're going to the left turn turn turn you got it so the first time it's seen  the light of day since 1972.   it's the best jeepster commando i've ever seen  this was a kaiser jeep's answer to the ford bronco   and the international scout there you go the  kaiser jeep chiefster commando that's a lot   it is most people call them just a geekster  but it was kaiser jeep and this is a jukester   commander so was this a fight to get running uh  it really wasn't uh all i did was change all the   fluids from the back drain the gas tank rebuilt  the carb spark plugs and cleaned the points   and it fired right up now in something like this  we we put avgas basically race fuel because they   do sit forever in our warehouse yeah it just it'll  it'll fire right up it cleans everything out yeah   gas and a little bit of regular high octane  fuel now in talking to his widow she said that   he bought this in 1967 brought it home took the  hubcaps off and it was brand new put it in the   garage or barn if you will whatever you want to  call it covered it up it didn't drive until 72.   so it basically had no miles and then in 1972   look at this engine bay real quick  because i'm going to lower the hood   it's absolutely incredible it has all the markings  on the firewall chalk markings on the firewall   the fact that the hood installation  pattern will never see that but we'll start this up real quick and  we'll go back to the 1972 story yeah but   you can hardly hear this run when it's running i mean it started immediately  listen to that it's like we can have yeah i mean it's running you  can't even hear it run yeah   and again driving this one the problem with  this one is still got the 1967 date code tires   and they are flat spotted i highly doubt anybody's  going to drive this this is in the condition it   needs to be in the museum i think it's good but if  somebody's going to drive it everything does work   transmission shifts great  brakes are good clutch is good   i mean everything's working as it should  i mean you literally cannot hear that run then in 1972 he decided to go ahead and get it  running again and he had it inspected in 1972   and had the license plates done in 1972 right  prior to that it still had the original paper   tag on it yes it did which alex found behind  this so this thing actually what didn't wasn't   ever even inspected or registered until  72. it just sat there with no miles on   67. yeah that was cool when i found that so here's  and we've got that photograph which we'll send   you the link to all the static pictures of this  because we did chassis pictures on the el camino   extensive chassis pictures on this inside and  out and all the documents are scanned but if you   look on here here is the only inspection that  was ever done which is 72 and you'll see the   license plates are 72. and what are the miles on  it now alex it's around 1400. i believe it is two 14.05 1405 miles so these two are done out of  the warehouse detail cleaned up service   ready for the next owner or museum to enjoy and  this one's got some really neat options all right   another part of the story which is amazing is  the top's never been put down on this jeep when   you look inside look at the top bows you can  actually tell it hasn't even been unlatched   yeah it's amazing it's it you couldn't i don't  even know that you could restore it to that level   yeah now this is a true convertible and it's got  roll up and down windows not a roaster with the   side curtains okay and then the back glass is  actually glass another really neat thing that   we've noticed is the plastic is the delivery  plastic is still on the spare tire surround   yes and you can still see this little inspection  decal over here which is absolutely nuts oh i hope   it looked bad but look at the condition of the  the animals just everything is just amazing you   would i don't know that we could duplicate this  in restoration if we did it it would be crazy   i mean just look at the carpet and the  pedals and stuff it almost i hate to even   get it get it in and out of it it's just  crazy nice continental kit was an option   the the dual hubcaps was an option four  wheel drive is an option am fm was an   option the chrome kit was an auction which  that option includes all the side trim and the hood latches hood hinges and then the driving  lights are optional and the chrome bumpers are an   option so this is a heavily optional 67 juicer  commando it's got to be the best one in the   world i'm just going to put it out there on the  limb yeah i mean absolutely 1400 actual miles   now gto from houston so this is a one-owner gto  see if you can see what the color code is on there but just by looking at the car it looks  like it's burgundy burgundy no it's not big beaver burgundy how cool is that that's cool the first  time i've seen a lot of day in a long long time   yep uh we took junior on that trip thank goodness  oh my gosh there were so many parts and pieces   so we obviously collected parts over the years to  keep these cars going and or to restore the blue   car we got hood hinges we got the doors that's  actually the hood of the burgundy car it's nice   blue fenders for the blue car i mean  there's more than enough stuff here   cars are definitely 100 complete even got  bumpers up here in the rafters look at that   that's why i said make sure you look up wow  you never have too many pontiac parts though   there you go safety first that's what we're  doing don't worry guys i got this handled   i gotta figure it out so we  rescued these two gtos in houston   they were in light condition when they  were parked this one went in the garage   the other one sat outside with a cover on it  which absolutely killed it yes it did it just   it just baked it in there and the car was rusty  yeah it was it rusted from the top down the car   was not bad under on the bottom though right  you could tell it was a solid car before they   put the cover on it yeah kind of a drag now this  one has been in storage since we pulled it out   it has only just been hand washed we haven't  polished it so we sent the motor where'd you   send the motor uh wells racing jamie wells was  building it the original motor one of the yeah the   numbers matching motor that we found which oddly  enough was like the fourth one that we looked at   we were both it was hot in there we were sweating  we're certainly going to be the right motor it's a ys so that is not that is not   the motor we're looking for w-2  okay wt so that's it look at that money right there one of the big reasons we like to use wells  racing is he dinos them before they come to us   yep so we we know they're going to be good  we set him in he already set the timing   that he's going to rebuild the original carb  already set that up we're going to stick it   in put the transit hopefully the drivetrain is  already brand new anyways because he rebuilt the   trans right the transmission was rebuilt by the  previous owner a bunch of other parts rebuilt too   yeah now what's really neat about this car  is we've got almost three of everything   there's so many parts it's crazy but so far  you've steam cleaned the chassis yep so i   see him clean the chassis uh i'm almost done  the rear end side of the chassis is done the   front end is almost done i just got sway bar and  the new shocks so the brakes are new right yeah   i went through the entire brake system we got  the new master cylinder we got rotors calipers   we've got the hoses all brand new the rear  end has been detailed clean service new shocks   new shocks newer brakes new gas tank now on this  this is not a restoration what i asked alex to do   and we talked about this and he agreed this car  really shouldn't be restored it was so original   uh now when you open the hood the motor is gonna  look like a piece of jewelry which i think is neat   uh the undercarriage you did steam clean we're  gonna touch it up but if you'll look under here   there is no rust in this car it's amazing  this is where some of the undercoating is   bled off but there's there's no holes anywhere  right no anywhere no rust anywhere a one owner   we got the original license plates yeah 1969  gto with good with great paperwork i just   don't think it needed to be restored it's only  showing like 70 something thousand miles right   right in a manual transmission car which is odd  this is not a four speed it's a three speed car   without a posse though with a posi so i mean it's  got to be a great car that long leggedness will be   fun yeah so and the interior is very good original  which we haven't cleaned it yet let's just drop it   down look at it real quick we couldn't even see  it before there were so many parts in this car   and i'd like to look in the trunk too because we  were looking at this car in the garage the trunk   was so full you couldn't shut it remember right  let's slow it down and again we haven't cleaned   the trunk yet we haven't cleaned the interior  but this car is coming back to life but we're   doing this survivor style which means we're  going to leave this as original as possible   we had to build the motor because the motor  was out of the car has already torn down yeah now there are a few things we're  going to replace on the car like   the weather strips because  they're rotted from the texas heat   these tail lamp bezels those are so bad  we'll just go ahead and change those   but if you look in the trunk because alex had the  gas tank out so we noticed the trunk pan didn't   have any rust in it either which is right yeah  and so those are the new shocks going in the front   this is the original exhaust and i think we both  agreed that it deserves a brand new exhaust for   this car yeah the original exhaust was on  the car it wasn't terrible which is really   neat to see that but with a fresh motor  we'll put brand new dual exhaust right   right we'll take it down to ridge as you can  see down the sides it's really straight it's   got a couple of dings in it but those will  pdr out we've got some pdr guys that are   just absolute gurus oh yeah and if you look at the  interior which there's some really neat stuff it's   the fact that again we haven't cleaned  this yet but there's no rust up in the dash   area at all this is this common area for  the rust there's no rust up in the cow   the dash pad is not cracked which i don't think  i've ever seen that in the texas heat yeah well   this one was in the garage thank goodness yeah but  you see the engine bay is nice tidy cleaned up and   a good option car power steering power brakes yes  it is i'm excited about this car coming to life we   are not going to paint this car even if it doesn't  buff out if it doesn't buff out and it doesn't   look right we might not clear it or we might just  leave it like it is because it really doesn't   bother me like this yeah you tell us what should  we do yeah i mean this doesn't bother me i mean it   looks like it just came out of the garage i mean  you only just hand washed it once right right   so there you go we got the these three are coming  back to life and coming out of the warehouse and   they're going to be going to new owners we've  got a lot of really neat finds that we had   that we traveled and got not all of them we  traveled but i know you guys are always asking for   updates on some of the older stuff and there's two  of the seven out of virginia there's one of the   two out of houston and then the uh we talked about  this one last week this one came a long ways this   week you guys helped it on this thing as well yeah  george actually killed it on this thing so what   alex does if he's waiting on a part for one of  these he'll jump in and help the guys on the jeeps   as well so we keep all this stuff going but just  in the past week the whole exterior's been done   on this the lights the flares the rocker moldings  what takes a long time in these jeeps that people   don't realize we're tearing this far down is  putting the wiring the under dash wiring harness   back in it right put the heater box assembly back  in it steering column dash gauges dash pad that's   a lot of work i mean it's 16 hours to do that  yeah and you're taking your time and not trying   to mess up and like we restore the dashes off  the vehicle put the gauges in make sure they're   perfect and then we install them that's the best  way to do it yeah i mean the but the last thing   you want to do is get back in there yeah and we  always put new heater cores and all that in it   um the rear of the jeep is basically done you got  the emblems are on it the tail lights are on it   spare tire bump stop you know and since this  is an 80 that was the last year they actually   had these reflectors in the corner didn't know  when they didn't have that and then last week   we had we hit on the white 78 v8 golden eagle  in the booth we have the camera in the booth the   4k camera zach's camera because he's from  frisco and it's like super fancy yeah it   the lights freaking out in there like when you're  driving a late model car and freaks out anyways   the color didn't exactly look right so i want  to go back and look at that again let's go jack so last week when we saw last time we saw this  it was in the booth we only got to see the floors   right and the outside wasn't painted yet so  the outside's now done base coat clear coat   this is a g7 alpine white 78 v8 golden  eagle i mean this is when this jeep's   done with the strike counter this is just  stunning and look at this piece of jewelry bam i'm glad we have a customer that is willing to  let us do the work to make these the best jeeps in   the world when he picked up the scrammer last  week and his h-code 81 cj5 v8 he was absolutely   thrilled yeah he's got some ncrs corvettes and his  statement to kevin and i which was really great   was like this grammar's along the level of my ncrs  corvettes yeah i'm like well yes sir it is there   you go so this one's come along ways too yeah so  there's three classics and two jeeps you killed it   this week outstanding so please like tag share and  follow the 65 el camino is going to be for sale   soon on bat we'll put a link in our bio if you're  interested the 67 jeepster commando is going to   be for sale soon but it's going to be on the  collins motor site we'll put a link to that   yeah please check out the pictures that zach did  of these two they are phenomenal because there's   a lot of art deco type stuff like the horn button  on the el caminos yeah the pictures are amazing   and then a lot of the emblems and stuff in the el  camino are amazing zach's killer with the camera   so there'll be a link to the 67 jeepster commando  um on the college brothers site the gto we don't   know when that'll be done hopefully we'll have  the motor back in a week or so but i would say   that once you get the motor that car will probably  be tidied up the next two weeks so i think you'll   see a test drive on the 69 one owner gto which  again i love 100 cars so there's no stories   i think that car will be done in the next month  or so i think so uh we don't know if we can get   it done quick enough but if we do get quick  enough we'll take it to bear jackson houston   which is our inaugural auction in texas that  would be really cool since the car came from   houston that would if not we'll put it up for  sale so there you go we'll see you next time you
