The Xiaomi Pad 6, the Oneplus
Pad and the Tab S9 Ultra are 3 of the best Android
tablets that you can buy today. But which one is the best and
which one is the best to draw? Well, we are going to
discover that in this video. By the way, this is not the
Tab S9 Ultra, it is the S8. But the S9 Ultra, except for the
processor and a couple of details, is practically identical, so it is
the same for the comparison. The same for the S9 and S9 Plus. In addition, you have the review of all
the tablets in this video on the channel. I'm going to divide it into 3 tests. Performance, screen and pencil. I think they are the most important. And at the end I Will also say a few extra
things about each tablet in particular. Now, let's go to the comparison. First, performance. And here we have a bit of everything. The Xiaomi is the least
powerful with Snapdragon 870 that is already a few years old,
but it still performs very well. Then the Oneplus Pad
has a MediaTek 9000 and the S8 Ultra a Snapdragon
8th generation 1. The S9 has an 8th generation
2, which is even more powerful. The S9 has no problems
at all to move this illustration that has 100 layers
and is 2880x2160 pixels. And to test how they move, I'm
going to time how long it takes to render the 16 adjustment
layers that I put at the end. As a reference, I'm going
to put on my tabletop with an i5-3600KF, an RTX 3070
graphics and 64GB of RAM. And my tabletop takes
about a second to do this task. And the winner is the Oneplus Pad,
taking only 2 seconds, followed by the Tab S8 Ultra and finally the
Xiaomi Pad 6, which takes 4 seconds. It is also incredible that
the three take so little. And this is something that I only do
to speed them up to the maximum. Honestly, it's not something
I normally do when I work. Here I am showing you how one
of the heaviest brushes of Infinite Painter moves in a size of 1000
pixels, which is a huge brush. And the three do it
without taking off their hair. It is also true that Infinite Painter
is a very well optimized app and there are other applications
that do not go as well as this one. But still, the normal performance
that we can expect is the same in all. One of those applications that is
not so well optimized is Clip Studio Paint, but it also works very well
in all, more or less equally well. Here I am showing you how a simpler brush
moves, such as this pen in large sizes, and also how a much heavier brush moves, which
is the oil, from small sizes to larger sizes. But as I say, Clip Studio Paint is
not an application that is especially well optimized, neither in iPads,
nor in Android, nor in Windows. Even so, we can expect
very good performance. I did not think to include the iPads
Pro in the comparison, but one of you has asked me about Clip Studio
Paint and iPads, and also in Android, and I found this video in which another
person does a very similar test with the first generation iPad Pro and the
iPad Pro M1 and I decided to include it. I'm doing the same test as him
with the Tab S8 Ultra and you can see that the difference in
performance is practically Zero. I would have loved to
include an iPad Pro in this comparison, but it
could not be in the end. But in the future I Will try to make a
comparison between iPads and Android tablets. As for performance in games, the three
can move Genshin Impact in the maximum configuration at 60fps in a sustained way, so
the three Will give a very good performance. Of course, the Tab S8 Ultra is
the most uncomfortable to play for its size, while the Xiaomi Pad 6
is the most comfortable to play. In Nomad Sculpt, they all
work more or less equally well, just like this sculpture
I made of a Bulbasaur. The three do it perfectly, even
with the post-processing activated, except for the Tab S8 Ultra that
works a little better than the rest. Likewise, the three work perfectly
to be modeled with this application. And finally, editing in VN Editor Video 4K, which I have
accelerated 4 times, the Tab S8 Ultra wins by taking 1 minute 23 seconds, followed by the OnePlus Pad that takes 1 minute 25 seconds
and finally the Xiaomi Pad 6 that takes 1 minute 28 seconds. So there is hardly any difference,
where there are differences in the viewport, which is not fluid in
both the Xiaomi and the OnePlus. The only one that gives a fluid
preview editing is the Tab S8 Ultra, so to edit video at least in VN Editor, the
Snapdragon 8th generation 1 wins by far. Now we go to the point where there
may be more differences, the screens. And I'm going to divide
it into two parts, screen quality and screen size,
since each one has its own. In terms of quality, the three are
very good screens, and you might think that the Tab S8 and S9 Ultra have the
best screen compared to the Zero LED. And yes, but no. Samsung usually calibrates
very saturated screens. In terms of resolution and
sharpness, the three are very good, do not be fooled by the 4K, in
these sizes it is not necessary. But the sharpest of all is the Xiaomi,
with 309 pixels per inch, followed by the OnePlus Pad with 296 and
finally the Tab S8 Ultra with 240. And yet, in practice, this difference is
not noticeable at all, only if you look at it at 10 centimeters, which I do not recommend
you do if you do not want to be blind. In terms of color reproduction, the one that
reproduces the most color ranges is the Tab S8 Ultra, but it is also the one that, even
though it is good, has less precise colors. And does it show up a lot at work?
Well, the truth is that no. I have used this tablet for a year as my work
tablet, and although when you switch to another better calibrated screen it shows up, it has
not been a nuisance to me to work with it. Then there is the Xiaomi Pad 6, which
reproduces almost the same amount of colors and is also the one with the
best color reproduction of the three, entering what we could consider a
photographic monitor, excluding the distances. And very close to the Xiaomi is the
OnePlus Pad, which also has very good color fidelity, but it is the
one that reproduces the least colors. But hey, and all this, what does it mean? Well,
it's very simple, the Tab S8 Ultra is the one with the most color reproduction, so to watch
series, movies and others, it Will be very grateful. It is also the only OLED, so in low
light environments it looks very good, but when you work with good light it
is something that is hardly noticeable. Then the Xiaomi Pad 6 is the one with the most
balanced screen in fidelity and color reproduction, and finally the OnePlus Pad has a very good
screen, only that it is the worst of the three. But for me the most important point regarding
the screen is the size and format, because in the end it is not just any screen that you have on
your desk, you have to be holding it and using it. And here the winner without a
doubt is the OnePlus Pad, and if the iPads were in this
comparison, they would also be. The truth is that I am very defensive
of the 5/7 format on tablets, but I would continue to win the OnePlus
Pad because its size is simply perfect. I explain, the 11-inch iPads are very small,
it seems that no, but that extra piece of the OnePlus Pad makes it feel much more like
a Tab S9 Plus than like an 11-inch tablet. While the 16/10 format tablets of 11 inches, such as the Xiaomi
Pad 6 or the Tab S9, are very narrow and as soon as you take them, you are putting your finger in the middle of the screen or they do
not have enough height to be comfortable, especially when drawing. But in multimedia it does not contribute anything
in this size, because in the end you see the videos of the same size and if you want in the OnePlus Pad
you can see it much larger without losing anything. I almost always see them enlarged
and absolutely nothing happens. Where this format can make more
sense is in the Tab S9 Plus and Ultra, which being a large screen does not
have that problem of being very narrow. And if you want it especially
for that, it does contribute a lot in multimedia, so for that tablets like
the S9 Plus or Ultra are great options. Although in sizes as large
as the Ultra, the problem arises that it becomes
cumbersome and not very portable. When I bought the S8 Ultra I
thought that since I was going to use it especially at home, this would
not be a problem, but it has been. In the end, as it is cumbersome,
I do not carry it on or at home and since I do not carry it on, I do not
use it as much as the OnePlus Pad. And when working with it, I end up doing it
especially in my studio and I work in the center of the screen, so I do not gain as much real work
space as the OnePlus Pad or an iPad Pro 13 inches. But they are not all glue,
of course this screen that the S8 Ultra has is a joy
to work and for everything. Of course, taking into account that you sacrifice
the portability of a tablet much more than with an iPad Pro 13 inches, and it is uncomfortable to use
as a tablet to take it from one side to the other. I have been very entangled by this point,
but I think that being ultra-portable is precisely the main point of a tablet, and
there the format and size are something key. And finally, the most
important thing, the pencils. All three have a battery, but the
Samsung tablets really only need it for Bluetooth functions. The technology it
uses to paint does not need a battery. And at this point, Samsung
pencils are the ones that have the most
functions in the distance. They have gestures in the
air that some applications like Krita or Clip Studio
Paint allow you to configure. In addition, they are
the only pencils that their button can be configured
in any application. Apart, it has the advantage that there
is not only one pencil, there are a lot of very cheap compatible models and if you
don't like one, there is surely another one. In other words, in
functionalities, design and validity, Samsung tablets win in the
street against any other tablet. But honestly, I don't use these
gestures that I use the Tab S8 Ultra with the Wacom One pencil,
because it is more comfortable for me. So, in the end, the fact that
the Xiaomi pencil has two buttons seems to me the
most useful thing of all pencils. At least in the applications
that can be configured, because they cannot
be configured in all. And the least useful is the
touch button of the OnePlus Pad pencil, which in most apps is not
even useful at all at the moment. The fact that it is tactile
makes you press it sometimes unintentionally, but this
for me is really superficial. Let's go to the important
thing, how do they work? As for the pressure, they all work
well, but the best is the OnePlus style. It is activated by just
touching the screen and gives you a lot of control in a
very large range of pressure. In the Samsung it is also good and gives a lot of control,
but the pencils do not detect such soft strokes and all the Samsung tablets that I have tried have areas of the screen
in which the pressure varies without you doing anything. This is not noticeable unless you
look for it, but it is a bug that is there. The Xiaomi one, on the other hand, is
activated by just touching the screen and being good at this point, it is the one that
gives the least control in the pressure. And it is that you do not need to press
a lot to reach the maximum pressure. On the other hand, in the
installation, the winner is the Samsung that detects it
perfectly without any problem. It does not matter how you tilt the pencil or how
you change it, but the only thing is that the tip of this type of pencil is not so good to draw with
inclination like the Xiaomi pad, OnePlus or Apple Pencil. The OnePlus style, on the other hand, detects
it perfectly, but there must be some problem with the software because once you start drawing
it takes a while to detect abrupt changes. It is not noticeable in
use at all, but it is another bug that is there and
that I have to comment on. Of course, there are no errors in the detection
as it happens with the Xiaomi one, which detects it well, but the inclination fluctuates randomly,
which is noticeable and is annoying when drawing. In reality, this is only noticeable
when you draw slowly, but it is something that I have noticed
in the normal use of the tablet. But as soon as you start moving the pencil a little
faster, these changes in the inclination are no longer noticeable, unlike the OnePlus or Atavis 8 Ultra
errors that I only notice when I am looking for them. And it is that in reality there is no pencil that when
you look at it with a magnifying glass it does not have any fault, the important thing is that these errors are
not annoying, but in the case of Xiaomi they can be. About the lag, none has absolutely nothing when the applications
take advantage of it well like their own note apps or Infinite Painter with the low latency mode, which I do not recommend
using because it is in beta mode and it is still very unstable. Right now the lag that there is in
Infinite Painter is already very low, but when this mode is implemented
well, it Will be absolutely nothing. The key point for a pencil to be
good is that it detects the stroke, and at this point it wins the
OnePlus Pa, it simply does it perfect. And I'm going to take this opportunity to talk about one thing, in my review I only use the rule to
show that a pencil works badly when it really works badly, because this test is useful to show that there is no human fault, but if I judged the OnePlus Pa with this test I would say that it is not
perfect, because it has very slight waves, but the reality is that they are not noticeable when drawing. And if I want to make a line I can do it perfectly without using any
stabilizer. And I say it's perfect because just like the Apple Pencil, they have solved a bug that practically all graphic tablets have, and it does not matter
how you insert the pencil, it always appears below the tip of the stroke. And it is that the fact that it
detects the stroke perfectly is applicable to Samsung
pencils except for this point. All Samsung tablets have that problem that depending on how you place
the pencil, the calibration fails, it is not something very annoying but it does bother me personally and makes me be less precise, but again it
is without going into detail and in general use it is not noticeable. In reality the Xiaomi pencil does not have this
problem either, but that is the least of the problems of this pencil, because here I do not even need
to use a rule to show you how to sharpen the line. And this is the biggest problem of this pencil, you do not need
to draw very slowly for waves to appear, and with a stabilizer they are concealed, but unless you put it to the maximum,
which is not very advisable to draw, it does not disappear. But it seems to me that although
they improve the drawing experience, they are acceptable and I have
been able to work well with it. Of course, if your work has a lot
of lines, it is not your tablet, but in general in all respects the Xiaomi pencil
is a couple of steps behind the others. Of course, it should be mentioned that to take notes it works perfectly both
this and the other two, and also all can be used as graphics tablets with your PC using the Super Display, but the one that makes the most sense for this
use is the Atav S9 or S8 Ultra, because they have a real graphic tablet size. And now we go to the
details of each tablet. The speakers of the three are great, but
the sound of the OnePlus Pa and especially that of the Atav S8 Ultra is incredible, it
seems that they carry a speaker glued. The front and rear cameras of the S8 and S9
Ultra are infinitely better than the rest. The front cameras of the S8 Ultra
are the best I have seen including smartphones, so if you are going
to use them a lot, keep it in mind. In addition, the Samsung tablets are the only ones that you
can expand the storage with microSD cards and are the ones that have the most functionalities around being tablets, such as the
multi-windows, application bar, Samsung Dex and other things. In the OnePlus Pa the only point to point out again is that it
is the most comfortable tablet I have ever used, including iPads and it is the only one that does not have a video output, come
on, you Will not be able to connect it to external screens. And it also has another point, and that is that if the screen has 144Hz, but the settings
only let you put it in automatic, so the tablet directly decides which application it uses and which does not, and it takes away for example the 60Hz layer, making not
only that there is less refresh rate, but also covers the performance in the application. I do not understand very
well why this happens, but I hope I can fix
it with some update. But I have found a way to force the applications to
run at 120Hz, you just have to download the SetEdit application from the Play Store and from there you go to
the Pick Refresh Rating section and change the 120 to 60. Now you Will see that applications like Krita are also executed
at 120Hz, this in Krita not only improves latency but also improves the overall performance of the application, so I highly
recommend doing it even if it is only a patch at the moment. Ideally, OnePlus would allow
you to configure this directly. And from that I have one bad point to point out, and that is
that its gestures cannot be deactivated and give problems with most applications, making you unable to make the gesture of
re-do, change the size of the brush or go to the full screen. Those of the OnePlus Pad also give this problem, but they can be
deactivated from the settings, which I recommend doing, so really in the OnePlus they are not a problem, but it is that in the Xiaomi they
do make it very difficult to work with it and cannot be deactivated. And finally, the official price
without offers with the included pick is € 500 in the Xiaomi, € 600 in the
OnePlus and € 1340 in the Tab S9 Ultra. Which is better? Well,
none. They all have their little things and it Will depend
on what value you take. I think the best price quality
and the most comfortable is the OnePlus Pad, and the
worst to draw is the Xiaomi. In general, the one that seems best to me is the
OnePlus, and that is why it is my tablet. I do not care if it does not have the best screen or is
more powerful, it is the one that best fits my use. But on the other hand, the Xiaomi
is a tablet that in general is very good, which is not the best nor far
from drawing, but it is perfect for it. And although the official price is €
500 with the pencil, it can be found much cheaper, so if drawing is something
secondary for you, it is a very good option. Finally, the Tab S8 and S9 Ultra are
incredible tablets. Honestly, as a tablet, they seem to me the best there is.
Something better even than the iPad Pro. But only if we put aside
the difference in power and apps. But they are
very large and cheap. Of course, you can use them perfectly
as a graphics tablet connected to your computer and they are the only ones
you can use as a computer with decks. The use of them as
a computer is very "in quotes" because in the
end they are not the same. So in the end you
take a little 2x1. This is just my opinion. What
do you think is the best? And so far the comparison. I hope
it has been useful to you and do not forget to leave a like and
subscribe if you are not already. I remind you that you have links to
reviews of all these tablets and my social networks in the description.
Greetings and see you in the next video.
