he is the man behind one of the most beloved characters in Hollywood history a role that became a film that has landed on countless best of movie lists for decades literally here to present the Hollywood career achievement award to Sylvester Stallone is a man who has worldwide fame but many many many moons ago he was my co-star in the debut episode of moonlighting as well at yo yes that long and storied acting career of mine hmm well as well as another good friend who just happens to be the governor of this great state of California would you please welcome to the stage Bruce Willis and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger thank you very much it's wonderful to be back at the Beverly Hilton which is the only hotel really left where you can smoke a stogie yesterday let's be honest right out by the pool but anyway I'm honored to be here today to present my great friend Sylvester Stallone with this year's Hollywood career achievement award 35 films 35 monster films rocky it's red it's red very exciting but what is really greatest it has been nominated two times and Oscar two times what a terrific honor think about that I mean as if I would know but anyway that's it that's besides the point now I hardly know anyone as multi-talented the sly is a distinguished actor a fantastic director a producer and a wonderful writer fantastic is a great looking guy yes I did not know you're going that direction are you guys doing over there he got me but anyway he's American dude no no he is the embodiment of the American Dream and but anyway as a young man as a young man as a young man as a young man he came to Hollywood from New York with the empty pockets but full of Dreams full of Uzziah he had that he had that fire in the belly that was the great thing about have that fire in his belly I can't code governor good so he sat down and in longhand wrote the script for Rocky and the rest is history the wretched residues it his characters have become embedded in American culture Rocky Balboa John Rambo John Rambo exactly the list goes on and on and on now those roles with action heroes are all about yes in addition to his success he's one of they on a screen he is one of those great guys that has a beautiful wonderful personal life very successful personal life and owes a professional life you should see man we have seen it many times with his kids as a family man asking about this wonder great father great inspiration was both I would say and I'm also proud to have sly as my great friends great friends it terrific as a matter fact he helped usher a new era of action films with more special effects more stunts more action more dangerous stunts some epic people always competing remember with him who had the bigger guns who has the most dangerous stunts and all of the stuff remember this Bros nicer clothes I do remember the exact thing that's how I got our our start in the action business was was watching Sylvester Stallone two action films his his newest blockbuster Expendables we're both in for well I mean in one minute and 40 seconds and you I think that you've beaten that it's two minutes and 15 seconds in 15 seconds so we know what we're talking about but what it's amazing is is that that movie for the first time we got together to this movie and now I think because you and I are in it it is gross to hunnic worldwide worldwide 260 million dollars exactly and how much money did you make in that you see what I'm saying I see you saying so I bought another house up there he said that's what's going on here but anyway but it said it's a lifetime of accomplishments and and we are both very proud to call him a friend let's please have him come out mr. Sylvester Stallone tonight's honoree all three straight dude haha thank you very much hello daughter hello Mike all right thank you oh thank you very much I know it's been a long night so I'll keep it short I just want to say I hope you guys never win this you know you've got enough look you don't seriously I know you're envious that's what drives me and you're actually I think you're not old enough to get this or talented enough so go did I say I want to say it it's been a fantastic ride to be literally I won't say born in the same year as these guys I'm is really great there's one thing to have you know to be in the film business is it's another to be flanked by two of the greatest and never be replaceable action guys actors personalities of all time so thank you very very much guys appreciate truly truly incredible individuals and generous and work real cheap real cheap appreciate that since you've been getting so much more than me lately so much more comes form anyway I want to thank everyone for for this and most of all I want to be able to thank my daughters and my wife because they forgot what I used to do and they thought I was like a bad golfer for a living and say I I do those things I hang from trees and jump and try to entertain people but most of all I'm really really proud to be part of an industry that I think is the greatest industry in the world because what you do entertained people and God knows the way the world is we do need relief now and then and and like what Sean Penn is doing we also need levity and we need we need a focus on what we can provide through our industry which is help and understanding and relief for people self for all of us thank you very much I love you and I love you guys forever appreciate it thank you
