life's too short to drive boring cars so the suv market is growing dramatically in recent years sales are massively overshadowing anything in the sedan marketplace today why well because they satisfy a variety of needs they're all wheel drive four wheel drive they have toll ratings you can haul family friends dogs pets the whole nine yards you get five seaters seven seaters unibody body on frame options for every market every niche and every customer but unfortunately not every one of those can go the distance a lot of them are garbage and other ones will certainly run well over 200 000 miles so i want to do you guys a favor and i want to share with you guys seven suvs that will run well over 200 000 miles let's get into it now so reviewing studies where they reviewed 11.8 million vehicles back in 2019 it actually revealed the top suvs but before we get into the list let me know in the comments section below if you guys can find the commonality here as to why every one of these will actually run to over 200 000 miles there is actually a unique trait to all of these but the first vehicle on our list is the toyota 4runner and it's good for 3.9 percent of these will make it to 200 000 miles and beyond as a matter of fact 0.2 percent are already recognized to have exceeded 300 000 miles and here's why toyota's always a great brand they make a very sturdy product primarily because they don't fix what's not broken right now you have a 4 liter v6 engine doesn't make a ton of power but it's robust you have great ride height you have a body on frame design so it's good for towing a lot of packages you can get a five passenger by default or seven passenger platform you've even got sunroof and you've got a lot of the luxury amenities they're also very very attractive come with a lot of great touches they stay just current enough to not get boring i mean even look at this you've got color matching flares you've got upgraded type headlights chrome accents you can get these vehicles all packaged up with different accessories they're very very well supported in the aftermarket because they will last the distance people know that they can put accessories on them and they'll last the test of time night shady edition i reviewed a couple years ago great vehicle where it blacks everything out from the rims to the forerunner the decals everything's all blacked out the retractable running boards it's just a great vehicle the next vehicle is odd that it fits this list but because it's a lexus it's essentially a toyota brand and the gx model is really the exception to the rule kind of unlike that vehicle there for example but here the lexus gx 460 we have in front of us here is absolutely a beautiful vehicle and these vehicles are still built in japan which gives them a bit of an edge from some of even toyotas now getting built in the united states now you can get a 4.7 v8 4.6 v8 like we have here and you can get a 4 liter v6 under that hood now they're all naturally aspirated which adds the additional reliability to these equations makes them run for essentially ever the older versions had a 5 speed the new ones now have a six-speed automatic and of course they got four-wheel drive you can get either the five-seating arrangement like this one has or you can get the seven seating arrangement now of course all of the bling that comes with lexus applies here i mean you've got great little chrome along the side very interesting alloy wheels chrome on the handles glass sunroof some pretty interesting tail lights slightly futuristic but there you go and it's the gx 460 so that's a smaller v8 engine and as you can see you get more chrome on the back of course here you've got that sharp overhang it's basically very utilitarian and this vehicle is essentially known as the land cruiser proto in other markets so it's you know it's robust anything land cruiser typically runs the distance now approximately eight point five percent of these great vehicles make it over two hundred thousand miles that's three hundred thousand kilometers and up to three hundred thousand miles you can expect about point two percent have already exceeded that value so at the end of the day not too many luxury vehicles get the grade but the lexus gx series prado certainly does and the next vehicle that will go way over 200 000 probably close to 600 000 miles if you treat it right and is the lexus lx right here the lx is large and in charge but you know the lexus is essentially the toyota land cruiser and the toyota land cruiser and lexus are almost tied for reliability now normally luxury doesn't necessarily equate to reliability but lexus knows how to put it together i mean look at that they've got these great gunmetal gray rims you've got running boards you've got chrome accents there chrome chrome all the way around you've got chrome this thing is blinged out you've got kind of a conventional lexus grille looks more beefy than the current style that they've got going on now look at these great headlights actually quite impressive and some chrome trim fog lights and here we've got a great little marker light lots of great amenities inside you've got glass on the ceiling space and you've got rugged luggage racks for anything you want to haul around now here you've got the oversized back end very very large and in charge these vehicles are always very recognizable by that massive back end and here we have the lx570 that's the 5.7 liter v8 but you can also get a 4.7 and a 4.6 liter v8 as well equipped in these vehicles they also happen to come equipped with a six or an eight-speed automatic depending on the generation and they're massive and they're heavy and they're strong and that's why they can tow 8 500 pounds in the latest revision of the lx series and the beauty is they have all the luxury amenities you've got adaptive steering and all the safety nannies to keep this thing safe but it's also got the all-wheel drive system that keeps this thing bouncing along when the road conditions get a little rough and off-road you also have a third row that's actually power seats because this thing is decked right to the nines every possible feature in lexus world is tucked under there if you ever wondered oh i wonder if that one comes with that feature guaranteed this suv does and as a result over 16 percent of these vehicles have made it over 200 000 miles and almost 2 percent have made it to 300 000 miles already that's 500 000 kilometers i love these things they're massive they're goliath but they'll take the family and the friends along for a trip around the world five times over now the next one on our list isn't one that you would normally accuse for being overly reliable but they last a long time and the main reason for that is because they're cheap to fix and they're fairly robust they're simple to work on there's been more than enough experience in the brand to make sure that the consistency is developed and here it is it's the chevy suburban right there as you can see it's massive now let's circle around here's a new one love the new look love the new grille you've got these cool little vents on the front there it looks massive large and in charge look at that powerful looking grille headlights that are really really cool huge wheels almost escalade style chrome there chrome all the way there and there's chrome running boards look at the amount of you could put a couch on top there if you want to haul it or four sheets of plywood pretty cool you've got these snazzy little door controls and again all the way around suburban there's your antenna and i love these new tail light assemblies chevy boom suburban massive you've got the quad tail pipes on there makes it look very powerful mean large and in charge now if you're walking along the side it's gonna take us a while because this thing is so long and we keep on going but these are great because sure while they're not the fanciest and they're not a toyota but they certainly are a body on frame design this is based on the chevy pickup trucks half ton trucks and they're sturdy they're built to last you can run them a long long time sure things break cadillac escalades they're known for handles coming off there's infotainment issues there's all kinds of little nickel and dime things that go on these because they aren't necessarily the top quality materials but they are cheap they're easy to fix and they're affordable and that's why they keep running plus the large v8s and here you get a 5.3 liter v8 or you can upgrade to a 6.2 liter v8 there's also a inline six-cylinder turbo diesel available in certain markets so there's lots of great engine options but the engines in these things are large they turn at a low rpm they don't work really hard and so unless you're really towing they can essentially run almost forever they're a sturdy engine just do your maintenance and approximately on average 4.9 percent of these vehicles hit 200 000 miles and beyond you can easily hit 300 400 000 miles if you really service them and really take care of them because these are simple vehicles they're cheap to fix and for a seven passenger vehicle they're very practical and they will just run forever and the next vehicle on our list is this land yacht yes it looks nothing short of a school bus or a greyhound bus that's right but it is the ford expedition right there as you can see this is the equivalent of the chevy suburban but ford has a version too and it's the expedition as you see there four big and aggressive now again the front end is a little bit smaller it appears a little smaller than the chevy suburban but it's still a very large vehicle they've got their own touch or ideas of accents and all kinds of interesting grill pieces but essentially this is a truck and it's built on a truck platform as in the ford f-150 again you get some great wheels and you've got these drop-down running boards here that just bop down so you can hop on in and again these have some pretty cool little detail as well the tail lights a little simpler than what you see in the suburban but there you have it and then expedition on this piano gloss black and this was the max so the max edition beautiful love the looks of this the overhang looks very clean it very much looks a little european and then the tail pipe is taped down there nothing too fancy it doesn't have the quad exhaust like you see in the suburban but it functions very similarly you have that very very long luggage rack up here and some little interesting if not slightly plain handles mirror lights here are pretty simple as well the interior is actually very very clean but again looks very much like a pickup truck and they don't come cheap at 91 000 canadian that's a whole lot of mula to buy this thing but with a 3.5 liter turbo ecoboost v6 engine it makes a decent amount of power 375 or 400 horsepower it's good for at least seven passengers it also has a 10-speed automatic transmission which means it's always in the sweet spot and likely maximum fuel economy and performance but the main reason this thing lasts forever is because it's on a pickup truck frame you've got body on frame design again so it's meant to take the beats it's meant to drive over humps and bumps and potholes and it can do it all in pride because it is a pickup truck through and through and the reason this makes our list is because 5.2 percent of these vehicles make it well over 200 000 miles and even numerous ones make over 300 000 miles mainly because they were built to last they're not over stressed and they're well made they're not overly reliable they'll never win any reliability records but again similar to the chevy is there a simple vehicle built with simple parts relatively easy to repair in most cases although the ecoboost has its challenges these vehicles will last the test of time and one of our best rated vehicles is the toyota sequoia which actually is about 9.2 percent of these vehicles hammer over 200 000 miles or even 2 300 000 miles in small volumes so what's so great about these other than they're just absolutely gargantuan i.e the sequoia which comes from their giant redwood forest these vehicles are awesome here we have a limited version this one's pretty much loaded to the nuts you'll see we got the nice little running boards some cool little fancy wheels and we circle around you know they're pretty true to their design they're not over the top fancy and this is a brand new suv but look the rear taillights are still robust and simple down here we see we actually have a different opportunities there's different you've got the seven pin and you've got the four pin and of course you can tow a whole lot of weight to the tune of about 7 400 pounds and did you know that you can haul seven or eight passengers in this giant of a behemoth you'll notice we've got a giant rack on top you can haul a lot of junk up there as well and you got a little chrome here to just make it interesting and chrome along the sides and we cycle to the front and of course because it's a newer version we've got leds now for this year and we've got the big bold grille which still shows that is very very powerful by its very nature now over the years you can get a 4.7 liter v8 5.7 liter v8 you get a five-speed automatic back in the day and now a six-speed auto is tucked underneath here now these vehicles are loosely based on the toyota tundra as these essentially are a body-on-frame design again which is a major reason for their durability they'll last a long long time they're designed to hit the off-roads and take it like a champ so again in true toyota fashion if you want a winner you want a vehicle that's going to last the test of time right here the toyota sequoia now one of our top pops is the toyota land cruiser now they've been around since 1951 and you found many different variations of the land cruiser you can get diesel gas engines manual gearboxes autos throughout all of the years but the one thing that's consistent is their durability they're ruthless they're absolutely unbeatable undestroyable unflappable and unrelentless and to say they last the test of time is a minor understatement they're truly one of the best and do you realize the toyota land cruisers last to the tune of about 15.7 of them make over 200 000 miles and then of course there's a whole pile of them that can make over three and four hundred thousand miles and that's only because a lot of them are used on short very rugged trips a lot of them were used off-roading and they could still last they were a tough body on frame design and they were lasting the test of time now the latest land cruiser doesn't exist in every market but the ones that do it's more or less the equivalent to the lexus lx so the lexus lx and the land cruiser are essentially the identical vehicle and if you could even find one hold on to it because it's worth its weight in gold as these cars are absolutely amazing and looking back you can find lots of them in auto trader with huge miles and sellers still want huge dollars for these things because they are in fact so robust and so durable can't go wrong with a toyota land cruiser and just in case you've changed your mind about
