2025 Toyota 4Runner | MotorWeek First Look

motor week is made possible by autov value and bumper-to-bumper and ti.com [Music] earlier this week Toyota took the wraps off the allnew sixth generation 4Runner and now we get a chance to take a closer [Music] look as before the 4Runner shares most most of its bones with the Tacoma that means it's rocking and rolling on the Tundra's full-size truck frame with a multi-link coil spring rear suspension and double Wishbone front with stabilizer bar disconnect in some models it also has the same 2.4 L I4 turbo under the hood both in the standard 278 horsepower version and the 326 horsepower I force Max the new exterior looks great probably the most rugged the Forerunner has ever been lots of ground clearance chiseled body workor and exaggerated fenders apparently people really liked the wrapover glass of the original 4Runner because they made a point of bringing it back for this gen TRD models are packing mostly the same upgrades as the Tacoma so its off-road credentials are as strong as ever both parttime and full-time four-wheel drive setups are available so yes that means there will also be an aftermarket packed Trail Hunter version loaded up with goodies from ARB old man emu and rigid heading inside the original 4Runner was based on Toyota's hux pickup and you could say the interior throws it back as it has become quite high luux this is limited trim but a platinum trim will be available which means you can treat yourself with fancy materials a head up display rain sensing White ERS and heated seats for the second row plus play with a 14-in touchscreen if that's not your style there will be eight other trim offerings to choose from a third row is available and second row seats now tumble forward for more flexibility inside Max Towing up 1,000 lb to 6,000 and not to worry a power rear window is still standard power operation for the whole lift gate is optional Toyota did not let us drive it just yet but that day will come soon enough expect the 2025 4Runner to start showing up in dealerships this fall and probably a few Trail heads shortly after that no word on pricing yet but stay tuned as we'll have plenty more 4Runner info soon on motor week [Music] n [Music]
