hi I'm chess and you're watching Tessa's crazy creations [Music] with just a quick trip to the dollar store and grabbing a few poodle noodles and some other supplies just wait till you see the hacks that I'm creating today we're taking some pool noodles and not using them outside but inside for hacks let's get started okay so I can't believe I did not come up with this sooner so this is our mop bucket it has wheels so it's easy to move around right but sometimes like it's really hard to get in a sink and then how do you get the water from here to here because sometimes it's really heavy to lift out of here so I have a hack to get the water from here to here that you're not going to want to miss so here's my faucet and Standard faucets are just as great but here's the secret every pool noodle comes with a hole inside or at least all the whole noodles I've ever seen so I'm sticking this pool noodle onto the faucet like so next I take the other end of the noodle and I place it into the bucket like so next I'm going to turn the faucet on like so and I want to start slow and then allow it to increase flow through here if I turned it on full bore I might be spraying out the top of it if I'm not careful so I'm just going to turn the water on and let it fill the bucket and now I just wait for it to build a bucket up until I get the desired Mount now I can use cooled or warm water or hot just important to add it slowly so it doesn't spray out the top so look at how easy this is it just connects from here to here fills my bucket with ease and you could make an extension if you want you just want to be very important to seal that whole thing with hot glue or tape or something where you'll end up with extra spray here but I don't think it's any problem for me to just stand up and press this down and hold it in place now I'm ready to get mopping now fortunately we're pretty lucky and our doors seal pretty great on the bottom but I know a lot of people have drafts that come in at the bottom of their doors and so we're going to talk about a little hack so I'm gonna go ahead and place a pool noodle down and I'm going to measure my door and then I'm basically going to make a little Dot on where to cut it now again using any cutting piece you choose I'm using my serrated knife I'm just going to go ahead and cut all the way through my pool noodle now if you wanted you could buy a pool noodle that represented the color of your house or you can buy those black insulation tubes from the hardware store that might be more attractive but we are going to do something else to cover this up I picked out this pillow case from the dollar store for fabric can't get any cheaper than that right so I'll be using this now I can't wait to show you just how easy this is and my favorite part about this is you might have this as your basic idea or the thing you have up most of the year but you're going to be able to do this with ease for holidays and I can't wait to show you so I'm going to take my pool noodle and I'm basically just going to stick it inside the pillowcase now if you have a bigger door you're gonna need to use different fabric but for this one this is going to work so I'm gonna draw it all the way to the edge here so it's on the edge I'm going to lay it down here so that it's on and now I could cut it right around here there's lines even for me to go and then hot glue it like fold it over and hot glue it so it can be a seamless thing but I'm going to show you just how easy this is to do with a pillowcase so the next thing I'm going to do is just roll it up like so and now all I'm going to do is hot glue this Edge to the Noodle so that's my next step so now that I've got it all rolled up I'm going to add a little hot glue and I'm gonna run the hot glue along both sides it's great no-sew project and now I'm just going to hold that in place until it cools completely so this end is open because this is the top of the pillow case or the one end the other side is covered so all I need to do now is stick the pillowcase into the hole just like that and that end is all ready to go so remember these velcro pieces like before I'm going to peel the back off and stick it right here and I'm going to do it on the ends but you could also hit the middle as well so I'm going to go ahead and place that on and we're ready to move to the next step so now I'm going to take it and I'm going to place it I peel the backs off and I'm going to get it centered up and I set the pool noodle so that it presses and I press the stickers towards the door and I need to press for 30 seconds to get a nice firm stick now I want to be careful that I don't push too hard against the floor yes we're trying to block that draft but we want the door to still be able to open and close so I'm going to press this and I'll show you how it works here it is on the door and I can open and close this door with ease now a lot of people are able to fit things like brooms and mops in their closets but sometimes you're limited on space or in our case in Colorado coats we actually use our closet for coats because we have winter spring raincoats you know every coat you can imagine because our seasons are always shifting and we need light sweaters even in the summertime because it cools down at night so this is just not going to work for me so let me share one of the things I'm gonna do so I've got to cut pool noodle here from another project I always keep my scraps because you never know what you're going to need them for and all I'm going to do now is kind of place some of the things that I might need space for on the pool noodle and that way I can customize it to about whatever size I need for spacing I should say I need so um that's the great thing about this project is it's really customizable then using a pen or a pencil you're just going to go ahead and Mark where each kind of item is placed like so and then you're ready to move on to the next step so now you can use an X-Acto Knife or whatever but you're just going to go ahead and cut into about the center of the pool noodle like so okay so what I'm going to do next is I'm going to flip it over to the other side and I want to make note of where my little slits are because that'll be important for this next step next I'm going to use these little picture holding strips um this actually came from the dollar store and these are great for so many projects especially if you're a renter or can't put things on your walls or choose not to put things which is kind of my case when you open them they come like a Velcro so one side's harder and one side soft and basically you take the two strips and you stick them together and press hard and then what you're going to do is you need to put these on the back of wherever these slits are so on the back side I'm going to place these strips in those three locations and the reason they're on the back of the slits is that is where the weight is primarily and we want to make sure to reinforce those weight spots in the right places so I'm going to carefully peel off the back of one of these I like and then next what I'm going to do is find the slits so they're right here I can feel that and I'm going to go ahead and place the adhesive right there and let it get nice firm attachment and as you can see I already did this one so I have one more to do and then this side will be attaching to the wall here we are in my laundry room which has a little bit of everything it's our coats it's our mud room it's our shoes and it's you know laundry so it's a little bit of everything so I'm going to be hanging right here all of those brooms and such because this is an empty space where it really won't be in anybody's way so someone who lived before um hung something here and I've never covered it up so this is the perfect place to put this and I start by just peeling the back off the back so I'm gonna place this on the wall like this and I'm gonna make sure to give it nice pressure for 30 seconds make sure you always follow the package instructions for how long to press and for how long to wait for the adhesive to be solid before you hang anything up now that this is ready I open up the noodle like so and I press my item into the space here this is all completed and I couldn't be more happy with how easy this was and how it turned out I hope this inspires you to try some cool middle hacks of your own I'd love it if you'd subscribe to my YouTube channel and my blog at chesscrazycreations.com thanks for watching and
