I watched this at a friend's house. They were huge Lion's fans, as I grew up in Michigan. They decided that they would cheer for the Packers because they wanted the NFC North to do well. It was one of the best Super Bowl parties I've ever been too. People who wore their Megatron and Stafford jerseys joining in the "Go Pack Go!" chants. Hope we can do it again.
My life was all downhill from there
Best day of my life. Hope my wife doesnβt see this...
I made the local news in Austin Texas because I was at one of the few Packers bars in Austin and when we started our winning streak, I realized the last time we had lost was the last day I shaved. So, I said that I wasnt shaving until we were out of it. I was on the news drunk, talking about how I hadnt shaved and we didnt lose. I still have a beard to this day and havent been clean shaven since.
If you had told me that that was the only one we would win with Rodgers for nearly a decade, I would have called you a liar. I remember feeling like Rodgers would win at least two more in the near future and the 2011 season furthered that expectation.
Love the memory but itβs been a long, frustrating, and ultimately disappointing road since then.
The whole Packers @ Falcons divisional round game used to be up too, but I can't find it right now.
It's just been too long
Time stamps are on the YouTube video if you know what you're looking for.
Man, time sure does fly. I was still in high school...I remember watching it with a few of my friends and all of our girlfriends at one of their super nice houses in Oconomowoc. We all went nuts when Jarret Bush tipped that ball 4th down. And then right after the game, the girl somehow lost her dog outside and we had to look for it in the freezing cold, but it didn't matter because the Pack were Super Bowl champs once again. 8 freakin years ago...
