you so much girl thank you so much because I just Jeffrey said to me the other day and he was like why can't you be like regular moms and have a nine-to-five job and wear your own hair oh thank you so I need to bring all y'all home with me when he starts getting on me oh man thank you uh from the BET series Average Joe my girlfriend Cynthia K McWilliams oh man John good morning Good morning Sherry Shepard you know your friend Cynthia I loved her when she used to be on Real Husbands of Hollywood yes when she was playing Trina Shaw based off of Nina Shaw yes yes but Sunny you know I saw sunny when I was in DC over the weekend during the whole White House correspondence Association weekend I was in a photo booth taking a photo and Sonny came and jumped in with it that's what's up White House correspondence Association party so she looks good I love me some Sunny looking fly living her best life living her best oh my God I always look at what Sonny's wearing on The View and I always tell Willie Sinclair III of the Milwaukee sinclairs and I always say to him I like what Sunny wearing can I can you get that for me in a 14 in it and it never happens so she be suddenly be fly all the time but yes so I just got back from Chicago because I performed I had four sold out shows in Chicago at riddles Comedy Club really amazing and I just want to say uh thank you so much to everybody that came out and bought the tickets I think we shut down like the fire marshal wheat was beyond cold and we were just trying to get everybody in there and at the last minute my auntie bunny came and she you know like family was mad at me because all my people are from Chicago and I didn't tell them that I was at the comedy club so they had to wait outside in the parking lot for me so I'm sorry all the Shepherds that I didn't invite my auntie bunny was there and um it was so funny because I have you know I've been doing standard for oh gosh since the late 90s and I have not gotten heckled in a long time I used to get heckled all the time and you kind of learned to deal with people heckling you and I got heckled at the club and it was so funny no it's not no heckling is good because it teaches you to think on your feet and um I was saying it and the guy was just heckling me and I'm going back and forth and I said oh I haven't gotten heckled in a long time but it's like riding a bike it is when you get heckled and I said to him I said sir you cannot out Heckle me like this is what I do and he said something I was like Lord where am I gonna go with this Heckler so I could get back to my regularly scheduled program and he said something that was so it made me laugh he said I'll tell you I could pay your light bill and um I thought it was so cute um and I told him I said you can pay my light bill sir I could buy you a Tesla a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley what I said maybe maybe I might throw in a duplex come on now like but it was so cute when he said I could pay your light bill and I was like oh that's so sweet God bless you oh man so you know it's so funny because hecklers just want to be on stage they want to be on stage but they don't have the courage to actually get and do what it takes to get on that stage so they do it from the audience or you got hecklers that just they love you so much they want to be part of the show and so it was just fun because I getting back on stage I love stand up so much because it just works my my comedy muscle so I I'm very very thankful thank you Chicago for coming out and showing up for me so much fun and if you want to see any of with my friends Sean Diddy Combs showed up to the Met Gala with his really his really good friend uh city girls rapper Young Miami now these two have been on and off for a while just two weeks ago young Miami said that's not my man so to see them show up together last night was a surprise and Monday night during vogue's red carpet coverage Diddy was caught off guard when Lala asked him Point Blank if they were a couple take a look do y'all officially go together real bad I'm asking I want to know you don't answer that no no it's official real bad I don't know what you're asking we definitely go together real bad then that's what it is then that's what it is she's my date for the night it's just a good date night date night day night we don't put titles on it everybody wants us to put a title on we don't put titles on tonight can I get like a little napkin for my four games and by the way maybe y'all onto something no titles might be it okay [Applause] okay sweat sweat Diddy was sweating that question brought the heat out see the sweat first he was stuttering so bad what you asked me out of Danny was sweating now you now we know what the p and pit yet P Diddy stands for it stands for Pinocchio and perspiration oh my gosh and young and this was so funny because young Miami she had a smile but she was standing there waiting for us like yeah what what are we what what I tell you a lot like you cannot put a man on the spot like this because if he took that Cape off the way he was sweating it would have been a whole rain shower coming up look at them too coming on Diddy's body this you know and they look amazing together young Miami and Diddy look at them but it makes me think because it was so like perfect it makes me think yum Miami did you call Lala beforehand and be like lala we coming ask him what we are ask them where we are you know how you get her with your friends you try to set him up and she text and go la la we almost there okay we coming ask them and that's what you have to do with your girlfriends you get them together they got to do the dirty work for you but the worst thing a man can say is we don't like putting titles on it this is a man that got 62 names and he don't believe in titles P Diddy has been puffy Puff Daddy P Diddy Diddy Sean John brother love love and some rock okay not the liquor and you're telling me you don't believe in titles uh yo you better answer your man am because we can't take all that sweat Diddy you better go answer the question now this is another one something made an appearance on the Met Gala red carpet that stole this show a cockroach made his way up the stairs up the stairs on the red carpet [Applause] and Nick look at now unfortunately unfortunately for the roach he met an untimely end before making it into the party I can people this is a bad thing this is how you know people are crazy they would literally like get a picture of the roach get him and it was screaming at the roach what are you wearing who are you wearing only only in New York with a roach crawl the red carpet oh my gosh I bet you that roach was eating good too but I read in an article that said roaches are attracted to alcohol so you got a drunk roach on the red card the roads would got all the liquor they said roaches are capable of running three miles an hour and they're not scared of people as we really see look at this world wasn't scared of nobody because they stepped on the roach and the roach kept going it's like the Energizer Roach and you know and I look I'm I'm so squeamish when it comes to roaches and I know I said last time I said I had a roach in in the dressing room okay first of all who cares like a water bug supposed to make me feel better I still feel the same way they cousins really literally but it's like I don't know what I would do because I don't like roaches and if I had seen a roach I don't care what kind of gown I would have got on I would have pulled Giselle bunching down I would have pulled Diddy down lizzo would have been knocked to the floor because I would have been screaming trying to get out of the Met Gala oh my gosh and I got to tell you something just because I always tell my stories transparency I was doing a reality show one time and one time I ate wrote yes I did this is like it was a reality show that I was doing it wasn't like Fear Factor but what happened was I was in a restaurant on the show and they were filming me and I was at this highly rated restaurant had great reviews on the Zagat guide and we were there and they were bringing me all this food and everybody know me I love to eat so I'm eating my food and my two girlfriends Rebecca was sitting there she's just doing my makeup and Tasha doing my hair and I'm eating the food and I was like y'all don't want no food and they were like um and I'm tearing this food up and they kept bringing me food and I'm just eating the food and I said I don't y'all don't want no food so as I'm eating the food my phone vibrates and as I'm eating I'll pick it up and Rebecca had texted me she said a roach just crawled across your plate and I I literally I and my mouth is full and I sat back like this and I was like and I looked and I was like where the whole check where's the roach and they kept and they came and they were like would you like another plate and I was like um [Music] and I could not find and I don't want to make a scene on camera and I was like I don't see the roach I don't see where's the roach and then I said I think I ate the rose because we were on camera and then I was just like oh my gosh and then we had to go to realize and we had to go to the back of the kitchen and interview um the chef and everything was clean but then all of a sudden the road there was a roach that crawled across the camera and you know them roaches go fast like and I was like oh my God and then so the chef takes out the towel in the back of his uh uh pants and he hits it and it kept going and I was screaming the whole time and then somebody tried to make me feel better Rebecca was like well you know the roaches is protein and I was like yeah protein my ass I mean but my hair grew my hair grew I don't know what it was the rose protein give you a good some baby hair but I I don't play with roaches I don't like them I don't know how they let you know look one roaching got through on the Met Gala he gonna be like come on Sam oh my gosh so look a celebrity from the 80s just celebrated a milestone birthday it is Michael Jackson's pet monkey bubbles bubbles first of all I didn't even know bubbles was still here who knew I did not think that bubbles just turned 40 years old wow like literally and I don't know if that's like dog years because in dog years it's time seven so if it's time seven seven times four is 28 it'd be 280 years old and like human years but bubbles is old now and he lives at the bubbles is at the nursing home bubbles bubbles lives at the center for great apes which is that's the nursing home and so he got too big to be a pet so that's where he had his birthday he had a bubble themed birthday bash and look at look at bubbles bubbles over there look like he don't even know what's going on in today's birthday bubbles got Alzheimer's what bubbles got oh my gosh so he got a cake that was frosted with mashed potatoes and he got to eat it look at bubbles they got no teeth now bubbles just sitting there happy 40th birthday bubbles I remember bubbles you know Flo Anthony a Jackson family Insider used to always give me stories about bubbles eating at the table with Michael so I know but now he's eating at the table at the retirement okay bubbles was living the life well y'all don't go anywhere because literally part of a TV sorority and and how much do you love the view Sisterhood I love it it means so much to me and you mean so much to me I don't even know if you remember this but when I sign my deal sheet um you gave me a call I don't know how you got my number but you gave me a call or I could stalk somebody if I want you really did and you were like I heard you coming on the show and I was like yeah I'm joining the show she was like did they give you car stipend I was like no did they give you this I was like no I was like let me get my deal sheet out and you basically went over your salary for the entire time you were there and you also gave me Jenny McCarthy's salary yes I did everybody salary you gave me everyone's salary and I went back to my age and I was like you did not get me enough money there you go because I got a from Rosie Rosie O'Donnell gave me everybody's salary and hers and I figured you got to pay it forward it was very helpful Sherry yes that's what I'm talking about you gotta stick together that's right okay well you know in this speaking of sticking together you have a group of girlfriends I've never heard this term for a group of girlfriends but you call yourselves the machetes yes okay yeah look at this and you all the ladies here now where did you get the name machete oh my gosh I can't believe I'm gonna tell this story but um my grandmother who's from Puerto Rico used to keep a machete right above her couch okay I have that machete in my house as well and there was an affair that happened in our family yeah and my grandmother took the machete off and went to the person's house and was brought me along and was waving it around and basically said to the person don't show up around my uh-huh you know family right anymore and and the person did not okay and so it's for so I had told my my friends this story and they were like we are the machetes because we will take a machete out on somebody oh my goodness and they're amazing I mean it's Angela Rye Jamel Hill Latasha Brown Tiffany cross wow Brittany pagna Cunningham Aaron Haynes Alicia Garza who founded black lives matter um Joy Reid and then you know statuesque Carrie Champion I never stand next to Carrie oh my God to be tall and she makes me look short it's not even about the tall it's all of the successful beautiful melanin Queens in this picture they're amazing how did the machetes first get together you know it was Angela Rye she um we were friends with her but we weren't friends with each other okay and she said we need Biden to choose a black woman as his vice presidential candidate okay and she called me and I was like what do you want to do about it she was like let's write an op-ed in the Washington Post and tell Biden what he needs to do yeah because black women are the very backbone of the democratic party because we come out and we vote we get our husbands to vote we get our children to vote and we wrote an op-ed together that went viral I remember that we even got a call from the president the now president he wasn't the president then and he listened to us and I don't think we're solely responsible for vice president Kamala Harris but I think we had a little hand in it all right yeah he did and he called it [Applause] he wanted our thoughts yeah I appreciated that it's nothing like a bunch of black women and they next start moving the next star is moving we we did we did a video that accompanied the op-ed and all y'all had your next move in because you know you meant business we need a female vice president that is a black woman that's what I'm saying we did and I know this I love this because uh you attended the White House correspondence Center I did I love going to that I love how much fun did you have look at you how much fun was this I had a good time I'm not gonna lie I mean the drinks are flowing food is Flowing everybody's it's the nerd prom you know that's what we talk about journalism but it's about who you're sitting next to and who's in the room John Legend walked in I was like Donna Brazil was at my table she was like I'm about to stalk John Legend do you think it's okay I said it's fine so it's just it's fun oh my gosh because John showed a picture of you and he at the White House yes we were we were together yeah you say liquor flow and John is right there boy y'all we were at the after part after after party that's a good one oh yeah we would was the president there was vice president there vice president wasn't there but Diana Ross was there oh that's why when you get an invitation to go you go you go I RSVP very quickly right and you are there I RSVP before the rest of my co-hosts hello and you were one of the first ones there I was one of the first people there okay I could tell because you look like he was ready to party I want to tell you everything you have got to stand up and do a turnaround because you look absolutely amazing look at you look at this girl look at you I the one thing I love about you sonny is you're always so open and very very transparent and you've been very transparent about your plastic surgery yeah and I mean you know a lot of people are not so why did you decide to make it public you know I was walking around with G boobs yeah young boobs was big they were big you know that they were sitting on the table I know and uh you know and my waist wasn't snatched anymore yeah my son turned 20 and I was like I'm getting my body back that this little boy took from me yeah I mean you know he was a very big baby he's six foot two now yeah and my body was never the same and I just felt so uncomfortable and I wanted to speak out because I had I had terrible back pain and I was wearing you know a minimizer plus a sports bra I was doing all these things to hide it I could never wear something like this because it would always open I'll always open that and I I just thought why don't I share this with other people to give them in a sense permission to make themselves feel better like it's about and it's not a choice for everyone right you know but it was a choice for me and I didn't want to hide that and I didn't want to I felt no shame about it I feel good you know I don't feel any shame there you go yeah I just I love because I like how you you know because me and you we was always like we always lean over like table because you know you got this one I would do a lot of this yeah I'm the only one doing it you're not doing it anymore I was like I want them perky again oh they are very very they are smiling at me aren't they yeah so I also want to congrat this I'm very very excited about you I want to congratulate you on your new novel and it's called Summer on Sag Harbor thank you you gotta tell us about it thank you well it's a Trilogy that I'm writing okay and um this is the second book in the trilogy the first book was summer on the Bluffs and I this the first book came out during the pandemic actually and so I didn't have a traditional book tour so I've met with a lot of uh book clubs okay online and the women were like kept telling me what happened to Olivia Olivia got messed up in that first book what you gonna do about Olivia and I I just listened to them and so this this takes place in Sag Harbor yeah traditionally and historically African-American Beach Community and it's Olivia's story it's about women who deserve certain things yeah and they need to ask for them and they need to grasp it we deserve kindness we deserve to be valued we deserve to be appreciated and protected we deserve love yeah you know we we deserve a little something [Laughter] [Applause] was like this has more sex than the last book that's what I well then I'm buying one I think I like this now you I love this because you partnered with Octavia Spencer to turn the books into TV series I know it was it was really incredible I actually gave Octavia Spencer yes a manuscript it wasn't even the book yet okay and I just I don't know why I gave it to her I was like please read it's my first book coming out I thought she would maybe do an Instagram post for me and then she calls me like two days later she's like I read your book on the flight I read your book and let me tell you why I need to be your production partner and I was like what I the book wasn't even out yet okay so I was basically like I don't think it's going to be made into anything she was like oh no people are going to call you it's going to be made into something and let me tell you why so when an academy award-winning actress tells you that you you start to believe it yes and sure enough it's I can't tell you which streaming service but we're going to be streaming somewhere on the Bluffs and Octavia is going to be in it oh I love [Applause] happens when the Queens get together can I play a role when I'm having sex yeah no movie yes you can okay just I don't even care what character yes okay just um outside you want to be keeping the workout routine fresh too right you got me doing everything watering the lawn holes in the car there's a lot to do there's like oh my goodness all right beautiful and interesting so um this is the calorie counting jump rope from multiple so this is it's taking the spin on a traditional jump rope but giving it giving it a little bit of a text Bin yeah and keeping it fresh with your workout routine is so important and honestly I think it's okay to spend a little bit of money on gadgets when you're working out because it keeps it fresh and it keeps you motivated yes and so what this does this has a little screen on here you can see yeah see this screen turn it on what you do is you you would enter your weight and you would enter either the amount of time that you want to jump or the number of uh jumps that you want to do yeah it's going to track your calorie burn as you go really as I'm jumping once you're jumping yeah and it's it's a it's a three level four they get more complex and the idea is that if you can keep your dog engaged and occupied with trying to get the food inside of the toy they're gonna be less occupied with chewing up your couch right or your shoes yeah whatever the negative behavior is you're trying to steer them away from and so this is one of our favorites this is a level three puzzle okay and so what the dog needs to do is move the bricks in order to get the food underneath but the bricks lock into place okay so eat dogs got to be pretty smart to get what kind of dog are you thinking gonna do this kind of Instagram celebrating your man's birthday yes we did recently girl we went to this place called um two-bit circus yes um two-bit circus in downtown L.A it was so perfect for him because he is a grown man but a big a big kid and it's like an adult arcade it's amazing it's like you go there and it's like a place a Twist on um your classic arcade games but also old school games like Hungry Hungry Hippo except you sitting on a hippo it was incredible and then also they have VR stuff so we got to literally be in a video game and like fight zombies one of our cast mates Tammy Townsend was there with us and when I tell you that I was upstairs in the lounge and I heard her screaming because of how serious this VR game was she was in there killing these zombies and but I knew her screams so I was like oh she's having fun especially you and Tammy Townsend together crazy to both of y'all love her like you you lived in Chicago and we bonded we're talking to each other you lived in Chicago I was just there you were just there doing the sold out comedy kids doing my comedy and thank you but Cynthia it's so funny because you say that Chicago has the best bad food yes that people always say that they go oh Chicago today because people come to me about the food scene anywhere and they said they have good food there I said well they have the best bad food that's what they do have yes they do because you can always get you can count on a good deep dish uh a nice polish basically all the soul food too yes yeah that's where you go to get good I know I had a camera girl I had the pizza on the flat but it was flat it wasn't the deep dish oh you had the phone where you folded up I'm on a diet right now I'm not supposed to be eating this but it was so good that's all right you just that you just get just the tip just that always does work doesn't it you know what I have known you for so long and I you have this thing called the brunch Squad and tell me who is in your brunch Squad well we um revamped the brunch Squad when we went to Atlanta when I was filming in Atlanta hey baby sometimes the brunch Squad is just us yeah but when I was in Atlanta filming I felt like you know it's such a great place to break bad and get look at you you are so silly it was good that that those grits were good to me I went on a search for the best shrimp and grits in Atlanta so I visited I think literally about 13 different places and that one might have been the real milk and honey because that was the winner that day the original real milk and honey let me get it right they were the best grits in Atlanta but yes while I was there I said this is a great way for the cast outside of work to get together break bread get to know one another and really spend time together it ended up being great I do think that everybody passed out on the Grits before I did I I was in for a long haul and I made it all the way to 13. because the best thing about going to eat with you because you love to eat is like I remember we when we were together we added a French restaurant yeah ate everything all the things don't know how to put none of them whatever it is you filmed your show in Atlanta yes so congratulations tell us about Average Joe um Average Joe it's a dark comedy um it stars uh Dion Cole um and we follow him uh he is just an average Joe what we do is we pick up with him right after the death of his father I'm not spoiler and alert anything that's how the show starts right um and we find out that his father had a secret life and in that secret life he um apparently stole millions of dollars from some dangerous people those dangerous people come looking for him and they want to know where is the money at but uh Joe does not know after a very violent uh altercation um he basically it pulls him his family and his close friends which is myself and Malcolm Barrett into a life or death race to find the money and find the truth you know this this it almost seems like this is a comedic version of like succession you know what it's like I say it's Ozark means black people oh oh yes that's what it is it's got that dark comedy tone though like a Fargo or Barry or something like that I think it's going to be so I'm so excited about the show it's beautiful it's written amazingly um you play you play Kathy Montgomery yes so you hate your husband okay which is played by your real life boo Malcolm yes so how do you bring comedy into that you hate your husband girl is tough it was hard I mean well now some days it works just great right because some days you do hey choke but no it was perfect I think um we did not that we were together before we got the show so that was very surprising but yeah some days it was hard because when there were lines that say things that are just terrible you know I would say oh no I can't say that to my man now y'all gonna have to edit that and soften it just a little bit for me I gotta go home with him there I just love it when you come because you are you so silly I love you so much I want to thank you for being here congratulations so much girl I want you guys to catch Average Joe on BET plus June
