are to thank the lord for and what to offer to him this mass remember you are praying this eucharist with many other fellow catholics during the mass stay in reverent gesture throughout the mass [Music] pray with the whole family join in prayers response and singing at the time of communion make a spiritual communion after the mass [Music] take some moments of silence to read again the compassionate father we ask you now to look upon us with love and by your healing hand dispel the fear of sickness and death restore our hope and strengthen our faith we pray that you guide the people past to find cures for this disease and to stem its transmission we thank you for the vaccines developed made possible by your guiding hands bless our efforts to use these vaccines to end the pandemic in our country we pray for our health workers that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion grant them held in mind and body strength in their commitment protection from the disease we pray for those afflicted may they be restored to hell protect those who care for them grant eternal rest to those who have died give us the grace in this trying times to work for the good of all and to help those in need may our concern and compassion for each other see us through this crisis and lead us to conversion and holiness grant all these through our lord jesus christ your son pray that we may become faithful disciples of jesus as we listen to god's word may we in turn proclaim the good news of jesus through our words and deeds and as we receive the body and blood of jesus may our lives become living witnesses to the mercy compassion and love of god for all so that we may become less unworthy to celebrate the mysteries of god's love let us now humbly call to mind our sins let us beg god's forgiveness and let us entrust ourselves to god's merciful love i confess to almighty god and to you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i ask blessed mary ever virgin all the angels and saints and you my hosts all the earth is filled with his glory at the sound of that cry the frame of the door shook and the house was filled with smoke then i said woe is me i am doomed for i am a man of unclean lips living among a people of unclean lips yet my eyes have seen the king the lord of hosts then one of the seraphim flew to me holding an ember that he had taken with tongs from the outer he touched my mouth with it and said see now that this has touched your lips your wickedness is removed your sin purged then i heard the voice of the lord saying whom shall i send who will go for us here i am i said send me the word of the lord thanks be to god in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord i will give thanks to you o lord with all my heart for you have heard the words of my mouth in the presence of the angels i will sing your praise i will worship at your holy temple and give thanks to your name [Music] in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord because of your kindness and your truth for you have made great above all things your name and your promise when i called you answered me you built up strength within me in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord all the kings of the earth shall give thanks to you o lord when they hear the words of your mouth and they shall sing of the ways of the lord grace is the glory of the lord in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord your right hand saves me the lord will complete what he has done for me your kindness o lord endures forever forsake not the work of your hands in the sight of the angels i will sing your praises lord a reading from the first letter of saint paul to the corinthians i am reminding you brothers and sisters of the gospel i preached to you which you indeed received and in which you also stand through it you are also being saved if you hold fast to the word i preached to you unless you believed in vain for i handed on to you as of first importance what i also received [Music] that christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures that christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures that he was buried that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures that he appeared to cephas then to the 12th after that he appeared to more than 500 brothers at once most of whom are still living though some have fallen asleep after that he appeared to james then to all the apostles last of all as to one born abnormally he appeared to me for i am the least of the apostles not fit to be called an apostle because i persecuted the church of god but by the grace of god i am what i am and his grace to me has not been ineffective indeed i have toiled harder than all listening to the word of god he was standing by the lake of jenesseret he saw two boats there alongside the lake the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets getting into one of the boats the one belonging to simon he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat after he had finished speaking he said to simon put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch simon said in reply master we have worked hard all night and have got nothing but at your command i will lower the nets when they had when they had done this they caught a great number of fish and their nets was staring they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them they came and filled both boats so that the boats were in danger of sinking when simon peter saw this he fell at the knees of jesus and said depart from me lord for i am a sinful man [Music] for astonishment as the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him and likewise james and john the sons of zebedee who were partners of simon jesus said to simon do not be afraid from now on you will be catching men when they brought their boats to the shore they left everything and followed him the gospel of the lord praise to you lord jesus christ please be seated my dear brothers and sisters i am sure that all of us in one point of our life have felt inadequate that feeling of something is lacking hindi [Music] the feeling of inadequacy [Music] and this feeling of inadequacy pervades our readings this sunday in our first reading the prophet isaiah was called by god to proclaim his word to the people isaiah was called to a mission of prophecy but isaiah was quick to admit his inadequacy and limitation he said to god i am a man of unclean lips living among a people of unclean lips [Music] the feeling of inadequacy and unworthiness hindi magawa this is also the same sentiment of saint paul in our second reading today saint paul was called to be an apostle of jesus and to be a missionary to the gentiles and yet saint paul was also quick to admit that i am not fit to be called an apostle because i persecuted the church of god [Music] [Music] i am not worthy i am inadequate and saint peter in our gospel today also had the same feeling after that miraculous coach recognizing the lord in his boat peter said depart from me for i am a sinful man [Music] and yet jesus told him from now on i will make you fishers of men how could that be [Music] peter could not even catch a single fish walanga peter was not fit for the job he was inadequate and he acknowledged that i am not worthy the feeling of inadequacy but my dear brothers and sisters despite the inadequacy of isaiah paul and peter jesus still called them god still invited them to fulfill the mission entrusted by god to them at i think it is precisely because they are inadequate that is why god told them [Music] [Music] through their inadequacy god can work wonders through their inadequacy god could reveal his power through them and so what happened because isaiah acknowledged his own inadequacy because of his unclean lips god touched the lips of isaiah and removed his wickedness and purged all his sins because paul acknowledged his own inadequacy as a persecutor of christians god showered upon him graces that he would need for the mission and so pete saint paul could say i am what i am because of the grace of god and peter was able to catch many fish because of jesus who told him put out into deep waters and lower the net for a catch angdios [Music] my dear brothers and sisters we are no different from isaiah paul and peter like them we also have been entrusted with missions with responsibilities in life and many times we also feel inadequate in fulfilling these missions and responsibilities there are mothers and fathers who feel inadequate as [Music] [Music] [Music] even in our dealing of this pandemic we have all felt inadequate solution in our society in government in politics in business we could all see in adequacy maraming hindi you know my dear brothers and sisters a few weeks ago i was given an added work in the archdiocese of manila i was assigned as the archdiocesan spokesperson spokes dayan when cardinal advincola called me to tell me about my appointment i told him that i hesitate to accept the responsibility i even suggested other priests [Music] yes we have considered them but i chose you thank you but until now i feel inadequate because i am not really trained when it comes to media i am not media savvy in fact i am camera shy i prefer to work in the background i would prefer to write the script instead of delivering it before media and reporters but i take consolation in our readings this sunday god can work through weak and our inadequacy is god's way of telling us trust me our inadequacies are god's way of telling us allow me to take over and when god takes over miracles happen we just have to be humble we just have to acknowledge that we need god that we need god's help if we are proud we will not admit our inadequacy um [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] but when we are humble when we admit our inadequacy when we acknowledge that we need the help of god then god will surely come to take over to help us to do great things in us and through us the problem is many times we do not admit that [Music] let us take inspiration from our readings this sunday let us not be ashamed to admit our inadequacies [Music] god knows that we are inadequate that is why god is always ready to help us and when god comes to help us we will be surprised at what god can do look at isaiah he became one of the greatest prophets of the old testament look at saint paul he is considered as the greatest missionary of the gospel of jesus and look at peter is considered as our first pope the first leader of the church hindi anakahulika is [Music] if god can do it to them god can surely do it to us please stand let us all together profess our faith i believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in jesus christ his only son our lord who was conceived by the holy spirit born of the virgin mary suffered under pontius pilate was crucified he descended into hell on the third day he rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of god the father almighty from there he will come to judge the living and the dead i believe in the holy spirit the holy catholic church the communion of saints the our savior says come follow me calling us to follow this example to throw wide a net of prayer for others let us pray in that generous way as we say lord hear our prayer lord hear our prayer for pope francis successor of saint peter the fisherman of galilee let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for more messengers to be sent to call people to worship and love the christ holy god let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for all who works in oceans lakes and rivers to harvest god's bounty let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for a new evangelization to bring the good news of the risen christ to unbelievers let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer for the souls of our dear departed let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer we pray in silence for our personal petitions we remember the people who need our prayers and the intentions offered in this mass lord of all peoples through these prayers guide and order the lives of those seeking to follow your son who lives and reigns forever sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church o lord our god who once established these created things to sustain us in our frailty grant we pray that they may become for us now the sacrament of eternal life through christ our lord amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we'll lift them up to the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just it is truly right and just our jude and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god through christ our lord for by his birth he brought renewal to humanity's fallen state and by his suffering canceled out our sins by his rising from the dead he has opened the way to eternal life and by ascending to you o father he has unlocked the gates of heaven and so with the company of angels and saints we sing the hymn of your praise as without end we acclaim holy holy holy lord god of hosts heaven and earth are full of your glory hosanna in the highest blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord please kneel you are indeed holy o lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you [Music] in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me [Music] please stand the mystery of faith we proclaim your death o lord and profess your resurrection until you come again therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope and jose our bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god with blessed joseph her spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him oh god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and ever amen jesus taught us to call god our father
