how's it going everyone after years in early access subnautica has finally been completed so to celebrate this fantastic occasion and the full release of subnautica I'm going to be doing this build video to show you how to build your bases in subnautica there's plenty of room to make other guides like this I can't wait to see all the new people playing subnautica now it is finally being released so join us as we crash-landed on planet for 546 B and attempt to solve the mysteries of the ancient aliens the kara virus and explore the beautiful ocean planet of subnautica the centerpiece of every base in subnautica is the multi-purpose room the multi-purpose room can be built for six titanium and can be built fairly high up above any ground surface once you have built it the legs will extend which gives you a small spherical room with six access points to add corridors hatches and windows too you will need a hatch in order to get into the room however once that is built you will get this message when you enter excision production of life unfortunately these rooms do not have oxygen in them by default in order to get oxygen and lights you will need to get some power if you're in the safe shallows the solar panel is a fantastic way to get reliable power you go ahead and put that onto the roof and it will slowly start to generate power to your base and produce oxygen for you to breathe however if you have some thermal Jets near you you can create the thermal plant and the thermal plant is a very efficient source of getting power to your base wirelessly just place it near the hot Jets and it will generate power however if it's a bit too far from your base if the Jets are too far you can actually build power transmitters and daisy chain them all the way back to your base to get wireless power you can see where the power is going by looking at the blue lasers that are coming from the power transmitters and just link them all the way back to your base another means of generating power is to use the bioreactor the bioreactor is an engine which can take any biological substance and turn it into electricity this includes plant life coral samples or even fish you can throw them into the reactor and then you will start to generate electricity this is very useful if you are building a base in a cave for example where there is no sunlight and there may not be any thermal Jets nearby and your final option is the nuclear reactor the nuclear reactor is a fantastic source of electricity it gets you a lot of power and it gets it to you very fast however the nuclear rods used to power it take a lot of resources to build and it does use those rods fairly quickly so honestly my recommendations are to use for solar panels all the thermal plants if you are able to so now you have built your first multi-purpose room put a hatch on it and put oxygen into it now it's time to build your base you can actually stack multi-purpose rooms on top of each other in order to make multiple stories on your base this is very useful if you are trying to build a base in a very confined space and you can access this second floor by using a ladder in the interior of your first floor you can line up the ladder using the black mats that you can see on the floor in order to access the second floor once you have gone ahead and done that you can also add extra corridors to all the access points around your multi-purpose rooms and these corridors can go ahead and a half other multi-purpose rooms attached to them so you can build a little network of tunnels not only that but you can also go ahead and add windows to these corridors if you want to get a look outside you have three access points on these corridors so you can add two windows and also hatches as well or even reinforcement plates should you need to and for those of you out there who absolutely love to admire the graphics of this game you can go ahead and add a glass compartment a glass corridor and these are fantastic for admiring the scenery inside subnautica unfortunately you only get one access hatch in order to add extra corridors or rooms or windows but they look glorious and they really do give your base an awful lot of character if you want to have a quarter on your base you do have these corner compartments and this is very useful if you want to be able to turn a corner but not use the multi-purpose room to then add another straight corridor to helps kind of make it look pretty and really does do a good job another thing you can do is use the vertical connectors to make other stories to your base and these vertical connectors be chained together in order to get more height to your base I often use these to go ahead and build an extra story above the ocean surface if I am in the safe shallows and it really does give your base a lot of character not only that but they're very quick and easy to make and you can go ahead and throw a ladder on them the same way you build ladders on the interiors of the multi-purpose rooms and then you can go ahead and enter the surface level and under the water at any time you want one addition to the base which is almost essential if you want to complete the game is the moon pool the moon pool is a vehicle docking station and using this moon pool you will be able to store your vehicles charge their power batteries and also give them upgrades such as depth compensator so you can get to all of the sections of the game you need to there are multiple access panels in here so you can add reinforcements and windows and hatches and all you got to do is take your vehicles such as the seamoth or the prong suit and then glide it straight underneath the moon pool and the little arms will grab your vehicle automatically it will automatically fully charge the batteries and you can go ahead and add any upgrades here however the moon pool is a very heavy if you go ahead and add this you will often break your base and if this happens you'll start to notice there are leaks inside your base and it will start to flood and also have no more power in order to fix this use reinforcement panels the reinforcement panels cost a small amount of resources but they add structural integrity to your base once you have added a few of those you will be able to weld up the holes using the repair tool and then the pumps in your base will slowly start to drain the water making your base habit ill again it will also go ahead and turn the power back on and you will basically need to do this if you add too much stuff to your base not just the moon pool there are ways to prevent this from happening however for example you can go ahead and add foundations to all of the sections of your base these cost a small amounts of titanium and lead and they just add a flat surface for you to build on but the best thing about this is that it actually adds structural integrity to your base so if you just keep throwing these onto all the sections that you build you won't need to worry about those leaks as often not only that but you can also go ahead and throw reinforcement panels as you build your base and this will ensure that such leaks don't happen and you won't need to suddenly rush out and try to mend your base before everything inside it breaks no only that but the foundations actually do tidy up an awful lot of the legs around your base making it look neater another great addition to your base is the observatory the observatory can be made using titanium and enameled glass and doesn't actually serve a purpose but looks gorgeous it gives you a full 360-degree view in the entire bar in your in which is fantastic and similar to looking around you can also create the scanner room to get a good look around your base and the scanner room is not the same as the observatory in the center you look out of a window but it is actually completely remote and you can go ahead and use the electronics inside to find what you need you have got some controllable cameras in here which you can pilot manually in order to go ahead and take a good look around in the environment you can go ahead and check for some resources inside caves take a really close look at that deadly Leviathan you don't want to get too close for the sake of your health and really start to admire the scenery in subnautica just be careful flying them around the little stalker fish unfortunately the stalkers do like to collect anything metal including these cameras so if you take them near those make sure you go ahead and remember where the camera was left so you can go ahead and grab it later because they can take it pretty far away not only that but the scanner room can go ahead and automatically scan for important resources in the biome to say if you really need to find some metal you can go ahead and tell the scanner room to start scanning for metal fragments and then you can go ahead and use the scanner room heads-up display chip which can be made using the fabricator inside to go ahead and find them in the game it is a very good way to find some very difficult resources such as in some of the rarer locations of the game and it will actually help you in your scavenging an awful lot so that is how you do some of the basic building in subnautica everyone building in subnautica may look simple but actually has a huge amount of depth to the mechanics no pun intended and you will really spend a long time adding to your base and improving it maybe removing that room there so you can build a new type of room here and improving your base slowly over the course of the game by the end by the time you finish the you might even have multiple bases so you can go ahead and have easy access to all the equipment no matter where you are in the game and I haven't even touched and all of the furniture you can add into the basis and all the decorations such as the posters on the plant pots and all the usable equipment that can upgrade all of your items I haven't touched on any of that if you want to see a full video on how to add all the furniture and decorations please let me know guys subnautica has just been released from early access it's been in early access for maybe three or four years if you enjoyed this video I urge you to give it a go it is one of the best building and survival crafting games that has come out in a very long time and I can't not recommend it enough I absolutely adore this game and you will as well so everyone if you enjoyed this video please make sure you give it a like and leave a thumbs up remember to check out all the cool patreon people in the description below they help the support the channel a huge amount by paying for the editing software and paying for games and if you want to go in and support the patreon you can as well you actually get a locker in my playthrough of subnautica if you want to go ahead and watch that as well and I'll see you around this had been the final render and you've been the audience until next time farewell get out there and build something
