SUBLIMATING SKINNY TUMBLERS WITH A $20 DOLLAR OVEN

hey guys how you doing this is fun with liberty graphic designs and today we're going to be sublimating skinny tumblers so don't go anywhere [Music] okay so i'm pretty sure you've seen everybody you know doing or a lot of people are doing uh tumblers the skinny tumblers 20 ounce skinny tumblers well that's what we're going to be doing today or that's what i'm going to be doing today and i have uh several ones or several templates that i printed out uh and you can buy these templates on my etsy account uh if you go to the description below you'll see a link for my my etsy store i'm gonna be doing a coca-cola one we're gonna be doing a starbucks in uh corona and i'm also gonna be doing another starbucks and this is gonna be for my wife so i put her name on this one and i you know i kind of put a little eggs on the coffee that she likes and then she's always getting some weird coffee so that's what we're gonna be doing today uh i actually went and bought an oven just for this and i actually paid 20 for an oven i just hooked it up and it looks like it's working pretty good so we're gonna put it to the test on this mugs so let's get everything ready together and uh throw it in there and see see what happens okay so the first thing uh you're gonna need is uh obviously your tumbler you're gonna need some heat tape well in this case i'm actually not sure if it's gonna work if it'll work but let me face this because if you see the artwork actually overlaps in some cases uh this sample templates they don't overlap all this all the time but like in this case it's overlapping so i'm not sure if you put regular tape i'm not sure if it'll if it'll mess it up because you're not usually we use uh heat tape whenever we're gonna apply it directly on the actual um what do you call it on the actual substrate in this case a a mug you see you can see right there it's actually overlapping i don't know how good you can see it but it's a good a quarter of an inch uh overlap um you can resize it i didn't resize this one but you can resize it to finish right at the at the seam you're gonna see another one that i'm gonna do with lysol and the one will lie so i actually resize the artwork so it'll it'll meet right that on this one is overlapping the lyso one is not it doesn't overlap so again i'm not sure because this one is overlapping i'm not sure if you really need um what do you call this um heat tape you just want to make sure that it's it's nice and um flat and then we're gonna add the heat tape that was not very good so make sure the artwork stays exactly where we want it so it doesn't move just like that and you don't need a lot of tape because we uh we're gonna put one of these sleeves in there and the sleeve is actually going to hold it in place so let me get the other ones ready and then we'll come back and do this leaf make sure that you clean them with the alcohol and then now we're going to shrink wrap um this thing's in there so here's the one with lysol i already did this one this one i did it like three days ago but i did not have an oven to to try it out so that's what it's going to look like so all you got to do is take your sleeve we're going to slide the cup inside let me adjust it a little bit so we're going to slide the uh the mug inside and when you get these leaves they look oversized but trust me they're not they shrink really good so you'll see how much um overlap there is i mean there's a lot of overlap so but don't worry about that it actually shrinks really good and then just grab your heat gun whatever heat gun you got this one i bought at a lowe's or home depot you can buy it it's like 20 bucks so just hold it like that and start shrinking it let me pull it so it'll start shrinking from there and you'll see how it shrinks really good it's gonna look really nasty like right there see how it looks really bad watch i still got a lot of a lot of uh excess shrink wrap right here so mainly what you want to make sure is that your your cup or your mug is in the center and you have plenty of overlap don't worry about how nasty it looks it'll it'll shrink really good you see that see how it's shrinking really good if you want you can use gloves for this because it gets pretty hot and then just make sure you're getting a good you're getting it nice and tight and you can see how all the wrinkles are disappearing see that it's getting nice and hot yeah this thing is hot it's like really hot i don't have any gloves on me so just gonna use this towel [Music] yeah make sure you use gloves okay so you don't want to burn it burn yourself so this is still pretty hot but that's what it's going to look like you see how the wrinkles i look really bad and see how nice it ended up being just like that so that's what you want to see measures and um make sure it's nice and and and tight so we're going to do the other one okay so let's do this other one and this uh shrink wraps we're gonna have them on my etsy store uh we're still waiting for delivery so as soon as i get them i'll let you know again see how ugly it looks again don't worry about all those ugly wrinkles they will go away okay so stop right here so even though i didn't even though it already looks like it's nice and tight i only heated this part i didn't do the back side yet even though it looks tight go ahead and do it so it actually gets really tight i'm going to switch over to this to this towel so i can hold the other side that's done so if you're wondering where i got this mugs and the shrink wrap i got it from waldo 2413 i'll see if i can link his channel somewhere in here um but yeah i got the uh i got the mugs and the shrink wrap from waldo but he doesn't have that many uh i ordered 25 because he only had 50. i didn't want to order all of them but they haven't gotten here yet so as soon as i get those um i put them on my etsy not the 25 but we ordered a bunch of them i think he said i think he said he placed an order for like 10 000 of them i'm gonna try to get a thousand of the sleeves so i can put them on my etsy account and as you can see right now i'm making sure that i have enough plenty of overlap on both sides that way they end up like that okay so again you see how much overhang i got this i mean it's a lot look at that it's like a i want to say about an inch and a half so all together is about three inches and then but you saw how well it actually shrinks you see that see how well it's shrinking and again we're going to have this shrink wraps in stock on my etsy store i want to say within the month let me grab this towel i should have gotten a glove i don't know why i didn't get a glove oh it's right there yeah here's my glove well now i can get the rest of the wrinkles off and like i was saying even though it looks tight measure because i don't know if you can see that on video but this is the the fold or the seam right there so you can actually see it when the wrinkles go away not only you can see it you can actually hear the the shrink wrap grabbing the the mug because you can hear the where it's shrinking so that's it that's the four that we're going to be doing today okay so another thing you can see like this how much i bought my my oven for i don't know if you can see there you go 20 bucks i paid 20 whopping dollars it used to be 50 bucks they lower it to 20 bucks i was like man you can't go wrong with that so anyways another thing you want to make sure is i know you probably cannot see the temperature but it says 400 you want to make sure that your oven is actually giving you the right temperature so you need a thermometer like for example i'm using my thermometer from uh from when i do screen burning and i'm right now i'm touching the rack and see what it's reading uh i don't know if you can see it but it's reading 412. so that's good you want to make sure that your your oven is actually giving you a good readout more than likely we're gonna burn yeah it's burning that thing is gonna burn we're gonna set it on this rock extending off later on i'm gonna get a a different type of rack where i can actually prevent the shrink wrap from burning it's still gonna burn but there you go okay so we're gonna set a timer for five minutes oh i don't know if you can see it right there five minutes hit start and then we'll come back when this is done okay so our time is up stop that oops cancel so we're gonna stop that and now we're gonna get our mugs out oh wow they actually they actually look pretty good so make sure you don't burn yourself i don't have this glove okay so again make sure you use gloves get them out just so you know your rack is going to be all you know with plastic melted on it we're going to let that let them cool down and since we're not going to do any more sublimation or mugs for that matter we're going to turn this off you can actually see through it look at that the lyso actually goes right through the the shrink wrap this is the coca-cola one these are pretty hot okay so again make sure you wear gloves there's a little um i just noticed on this mugs there's a small sticker at the bottom make sure you remove it because i noticed that it's shrinking or it's burning see completely came off so yeah make sure you take it out because it's gonna stain the mug so we're gonna let this cool down they're 183 right now it'll still burn your hands but you know gloves you can you can grab them in some of the shows i've actually seen uh some of the guys at the shows like at the nbn and the iss i seen them whenever they do sublimation like on door locks or chroma locks they put it in water to cool it down i don't know if you can put this in water so but yeah let's let's open them up and see what it see what they look like just so you know guys this is the first time i'm actually going to be sublimating mugs so more than likely this is going to be a big time fail so again um this is the first time i have never done one of these before and i did some dual locks and the paper stuck to the door locks so i was i was actually you know thinking what if it was the paper that stuck to the door locks and not the door locks itself just in case if you don't know where a dual locks is or chroma locks it's a piece of uh aluminum and it's coated with polyester yeah polyester to receive the sublimation saw i don't know we'll see we'll see what happens with this mugs hopefully the paper doesn't stick to the mug if it does stick to the mug the mic will be ruined and i'm saying because that's what happened to my door lock so let's cut this tape oh it didn't stick that's pretty good cool this thing actually looks really good oh it looks really nice i'll show you in a little bit just want to remove this tape wow that thing looks really nice i'm impressed i get it i bet everybody's like well show us i didn't get the tape all the way out and that part it it's actually stuck to the to the mug so see this bottom part that that one is actually stuck to the mug but look at that and i notice on the seam you can actually see a line on the seam so on the next ones i do i'm actually going to be careful with that and make sure that it ends up nice and flat so i don't see that seam i'm going to try to remove that tape here in a little bit actually i don't think i need my gloves anymore they are a little warm but not to the point that i'm gonna burn myself so again this is the first time that i'm doing one of these mugs actually four of them um one of the things is what i'm checking for right now is temperature um time and judging by this ones i think i don't need five minutes looks like four minutes will be good enough but wow this thing sticks really really nice look at that it looks awesome it looks really really nice oh there you go that was easy you take the whole thing off um but see at the bottom [Music] the shrink wrap actually stuck to the mud where you can get it off right it'll come off but that's on you hearing right now is the uh shrink wrap stuck to the stuck to the mug but look at that the sublimation looks it looks very nice very very very nice i'm very impressed looks good let's open the lyso this is one of the ones that i really want to see so on the other one what i did is i just twist it again so see the bottom of it and the shrink wrap got stuck to it it'll come off but it's under pretty good so i guess what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna raise the the rack i'm gonna raise it up a little bit and then i'm gonna get a stone rack to put it in there kinda like the ones we use for pizzas like whenever you wanna make yourself pizzas at home but other than that i mean this stuff looks it looks really nice i can see where the seam was because you can see the little line it's a little white line right there but other than that this stuff looks really good now let me open the the last one this is the starbucks one the one i made for my wife this one is the one that i put her name on it okay so i notice the seam it actually looks kind of bad not the greatest look at that that's the starbucks there's my wife's name this is pretty good kind of like it really really good except the only thing is that seam right there see that right there that little line right there so i guess i didn't cut it all the way right but yeah i mean it actually looks like it's got a piece of tape holding the what is supposed to be a piece of cardboard so you don't burn yourself but yeah this is pretty good i mean i like these things it looks really nice it looks amazing i like the the results they look really really good if you want to get some of these guys um the ones that are ready to go like the ones that are already sublimated i'm going to have this on my etsy account if you want to get blanks you can get uh you can get them through robert or waldo 2413 his name is robert on his website bananas and pickles or pickles and bananas bananas and pickles.com you can get this uh blank sublimation mugs the templates which are this one's right here the templates you can actually get them either through waldo 2413 which is the same website uh bananas and pickles or you can actually go to my etsy account again there's a link in the description below and you'll see the you'll see the templates um spoiler alert while those cheaper than i am mine is broken into different folders so if you bought all of them together uh you'll probably end up paying a little more like about a dollar or two dollars more with me um that's because i have uh etsy fees and stuff like that but um again uh you can also buy blanks from my etsy account but um i don't know i took them down so on i don't know if i'm going to post them because shipping is very expensive and uh it's not working out for me so i'm losing money on this one so that's why i'm not going to post them anymore i'm trying to get the the stuff that's got stuck in there but yeah that's
