what's up terabytes it's me Tara Tara Simon studios and today we're at my alma mater Palm Beach Atlantic University I thought I would walk around it's back in session and we're gonna check out some students at PPA and see if they're willing to sing it better in seconds with me and for those of you guys who are new to the series I basically go around to random places wherever I am and I ask people if they want to sing better in seconds with me so let's see here we go okay so it looks like the fields are ripe for the picking lots of students walk in to and fro I'm super excited about this I've not been here before first sing better in seconds so I'm gonna walk around and see who I get hopefully they're as nice as my friends were when I had class here here we go hi how are you good what's your name my name's Bobby Bobby I'm Tara nice to meet you so Bobby I used to go to school here actually I'm an alumni I was in the music department and now I'm a vocal coach and I have a series on YouTube called sing better in seconds and I go to random places and talk to random people like you and I ask them if they want to be part of my series and basically what it is is if you say yes which I hope you will I teach you how to sing better in seconds you're gonna sing a song like a course of any song that you love and then I'm gonna give you a few tips and tricks and then you do it again and hopefully you sing better in seconds you want to do it I probably will not just don't have time I'm very good class here pretty soon see I was afraid that students were gonna be saying that to me around here but you look pretty relaxed I'm not gonna lie but my class is right there so it Rinker one quick sprint and I'm there alright that's fair enough well yeah well she okay I might have to chase her down alright thanks Bobby nice to meet you have a good class alright okay so I see some other students over here who looks like who look like they're sort of settled so let's go see if they're willing to sing better in seconds with me hi girls can I interrupt you for a second stick a mic in my face why don't you I'm Tara what's your name Doreen and what's your name jamya nice to meet you so I actually used to go to PBA on alumni here I was in the music department and I have a series now called sing better in seconds on YouTube some a vocal coach and a singer and I go to random places I've never come back to PBA yet in one of the episodes but I am here today and I'm asking at random students if they want to be on the series and if they want to sing better in seconds with me come on jamya yeah so you're gonna sing like the chorus to your favorite song and then it's really quick like four lines no big deal rip the band-aid off and then I'm gonna give you just a few easy to attain tips and tricks on how to improve and then you're gonna do it again and you'll be singing better in seconds you wanna what time is it what time is all your fault you have 15 minutes now come on now it's sing better in seconds means seconds real quick you want to do it what you say okay I have that on camera he's recording just so you know what are you doing no you know you know how to sing Jame [Music] man I need to go to the music department you guys are bad sports I thought my my students come on guys like I'm one of you like I can't be better sports you can sing literally any song you want like your favorite song it could be Amazing Grace for all I care would be happy birthday it doesn't matter just anything that you feel comfortable singing my I know that your wheels are turning I know you're thinking about it look at you you gonna do it I shamed you into a denied why do people always seem so reluctant to sing with me Joyce Dean I brushed my teeth and everything today alright so jamya we're gonna go set her up to work we're gonna do it outside okay in the open air maybe maybe like on that lawn or something over there we have a little more privacy is that cool okay and then we're gonna be right back okay so we are back with Jim Maya my vocal victim ed pba so excited so jamya what are you gonna sing for us today I'm gonna be singing highs and lows by Hillsong young in Frey nice okay beautiful and Joe I just had a curiosity what's your major nursing that's right nursing nursing okay we did say that on the break awesome so what are you I'm on my sophomore year nice great and what do you have to do with it what do you hope to do with nursing what you want to do that's great okay so your friend said you had a singing voice I'm interested in hearing it and if you want to hold the mic you can if it makes you nervous I can hold it for you what would you like [Music] whenever you're ready okay hi those low two with me either when it goes [ __ ] her eyes are shut up fall even so watch your mercy is an even flow you're too good to let me go are you so nervous isn't that funny right how like you know you can have a conversation with someone like your friend me sitting there and then all of a sudden someone puts a mic in front of your face right like Ria's humans we just we just feel instantly judged right we feel instantly watch instantly critiqued and criticized even when we're not being criticized that's true like I'm in your corner like I'm rooting for you and yet like oh there's this pressure right and so many singers out there that perform feel like that I know that the guys and girls that are watching on the other end of this camera they're feeling your nerves for you because they've been there right so okay let's let's talk about that for a second alright let's talk about how to how does ground down our nerves alright so there's this thing in my eight-week course called sink smarter not harder that I talked about and it's a singer stance alright and it helps with these nerves because it helps us feel more grounded it helps us feel the ground underneath us alright especially for females if you're performing you might be in heels yeah gosh that's so hard right cuz you're on your tippy toes so grounding down is super important so I want us to actually think about how we're standing so I want your your feet to go hip to shoulder width apart all right a little wider than you are now there you go now what are you left or right-handed from right-handed okay right-handed I sure I'm glad I got a pedicure alright so right-handed so I want your right foot to go out in front of you just a little bit like that but make sure that you're still hip to shoulder with the part for me yep just like that that way if I push you any other way you're not going any way right first is standing still and you might lose your balance especially if you're in heels now bend your legs just a little bit and feel the ground right you're feeling the ground from the ground up okay yes now I want you to take your shoulders shrug them back instantly more space here okay and now you're in a power stance okay now okay so now I love the head voice vowel production that you're giving me and placement at the top but I want to just experiment with a little more power from you okay because you have a really powerful speaking voice it's very chesty okay but the way you sing is very very tiny like it's very sweet and very pretty I'm interested to hear what this sounds like so I want to lower the key for you a little bit I want you to start on maybe like a haizen know is that that kind of a sound yeah and I want you to bring because you're gonna probably be louder I want you bring the mic out this this picks up like a lot so keep it about right here for me yes this time and I want you to keep your legs bent and draw your power from the ground up like this yes yes and even spread your toes out on the grounds that you really feel the ground up okay and we're gonna draw power from the ground up instead of that head voice coming high and down yeah so highs and lows I want a lot of like lower tones okay and I want you to really drop your jaw for me yeah and get a lot of space on those vowels too okay okay do with me either way it goes shut our eyes or yeah Lord you with me every way oh do I continue you with me either way yes good should arise or should have fall yes good good even so Lord your mercy isn't even flow it's good to let you go now don't give up on the yurt so good to Lemongrab I'm done you're too good to let me go can you like color it and give me something something there you're good to let me go oh yes yes okay how'd that feel as opposed to the first one like the first time I did it it was like I was shy and like trembling yourself like this time I feel like I'm more confident and like I just let go yes confident and let go two key things and here's why those things are so key because what people don't realize is singing is 90% mental 10% talent which is why this series exists guys because so many people think like oh I just don't have a voice like its vocal magic like you're just born with it and while some people are born with amazing voices it doesn't mean that you can't work you can learn to sing and God you can learn to sing better in seconds so guys let me know if my girl Jim is saying better in seconds in the comments box below if you haven't subscribe this channel so that you can get lots of more notifications of these amazing series that we do I am so proud of it today you did such a great job they bought our audience for me bye guys [Music] [Music]
