STOP BUYING THESE FROM TARGET! WASTE OF MONEY

hi everyone my name is arvin olano and welcome to my youtube channel so nobody asked but in today's video i am sharing some things that you shouldn't buy from target the first thing that you shouldn't buy from target is the studio mcgee furniture line and i know hold on before you get a little snippety down below in the comments okay i actually really love the studio mcgee line but there's something about the furniture where you really have to be careful i bought this black console table not too long ago i thought it was modern i love the black i love the rattan you guys know anything rattan i'm a sucker for but when i got it it was so cheap it was dusty it was cracking and it looks great in this photo right like i think it looks cool from afar okay but when you get up close the wood veneer is so oh it is so bad and you have to just be careful when you're looking at these pieces because they can look cool in a photo they can look cool in the catalog but when you read the description it's either a wood veneer or just like really cheap materials the quality was just not it and the shipping was horrible everything was breaking so if you're gonna get something from the furniture line make sure you're getting something that is um made of real wood there are some pieces that are made of like the mango wood and it has that more natural finish those actually look good um and just stay away from the wood veneer because it's gonna look cheap and then don't try buying the entire collection okay because the last thing you want to do is make your home look like a target studio mcgee showroom and trust me i've been there i've done that i always like to say that everything that i'm going to be sharing today is just my personal opinions and if you like any of my suggestions everything will be linked down below in my description box the next thing that you should absolutely not buy from target are their pillows okay they are trash they are so bad and take it from me because i have bought so much of the studio mcgee pillows and they are bad because they don't have a removable cover and inside is like a poly fill it's just not comfortable and when you put it in the sofa it looks stiff it doesn't look cute later down the line when the seasons change i can assure you that you want to change that pillow and you want to get something different and you either have to throw that thing out and it ends up in the landfill which you don't want right i'd rather save up a little bit and buy something that is awesome and have it season after season rather than just buying something that i'm gonna replace next season actually one of my favorite um pillow brands is jasmine interior she has a really cool shop on instagram if you like that traditional look she's your girl or if you like more of that rustic my girl at 23rd by diane oh she has amazing pillows i actually have a few of her kaleem style pillows and they are awesome by the way if you're not one of my favorite online platforms for unique furniture and decor i just like i i can't i don't know what to say and then okay are you ready for this next one my kitchen was featured on domino you to buy from target are those cheap plastic summer bowls and plates and cups [Music] okay you know exactly what i'm talking about it's always promoted in like a corner of target and it's like savings 99 cents for a cup or whatever i actually i don't know the actual price but these just don't look cute you guys okay these cups and bowls get you because they're kind of a cute color right they're really fun really bright great for summer but that's about it you're gonna have it for a season and i guarantee you you're gonna throw it out because it's gonna get ruined in the wash i feel like serving wear is could be really expensive depending on where you shop but i always say like buy it once and cry once instead of buying it over and over again i found some really awesome like artisan made plates on etsy from a small business i also have some really awesome recommendations from cb2 they have some really great stoneware options that you can use year-round and not just by the season i have this brown one ah it's so cool it reminds me of like the santa monica proper hotel one of my favorites the next thing that you shouldn't buy from target is the candles okay there is a candle aisle in target and it's really colorful it's full of like random scents and and honestly i really feel like it's just a glorified yankees candle you know what i mean like it smells nasty okay just trust me i smelled every single candle in this aisle to try and find something that is chic and different and luxurious no absolutely not nothing in that aisle is worth your money if you want to get a candle from target the casa luna line candles are awesome they have a really nice burning time especially if you get the big ones they're about 25 the next thing that you shouldn't buy from target is okay they have this new plant line by hilton carter i don't think you should be buying plants from there okay but hear me out don't buy the plants if they look dusty crusty and they look like they've been there for days because girl target gets no sun okay so if a plant is sitting there for longer than like two days it's gonna start to wilt it's gonna start to like it's just not going to be good anyway if you're buying a plant from that collection just make sure it's healthy and make sure it doesn't have any bugs the next thing that you shouldn't buy from target is those studio mcgee fake oil paintings now okay i know that these are very trendy at the moment which i totally get okay it's affordable you get that vintage look however okay it's mass-produced everyone's gonna have the exact same thing and you know what like these these like little oil canvas paintings if you go to etsy okay or ebay you can find similar that are in a smaller scale that will also look great in the kitchen i am not an art expert okay as you can see right behind me there's no art in here i actually truly love the negative space but oh my gosh if you don't follow me on instagram yet follow me there we have an ongoing joke about the small art pieces that i hang up in my office and if you don't get it i don't know what to tell you this next thing that you shouldn't buy from target okay this is crucial so listen up stop buying those rough looking rugs okay those really overly tufted rugs that look like they are pebbles on the ground they have the nastiest floral print they look like rocks and they feel like rocks okay these target ones are not it they look cool from afar like those they have these like vintage looking ones that look like vintage rugs from like 10 feet away but when you get up close and you like examine that rug okay it looks just like it looks like muddy fabric just thrown on the floor no absolutely not here on my channel we love a good neutral rug moment and if
