[Music] I don't know that you don't know that song I don't think so man I thought you would know that what is it you're you're uh oh I'm you're mistaken I'm going to be disappointed in this that's rock set fading like a flower oh okay okay yeah I know the song Just man didn't recognize it Oh I thought you'd get that one n my bad I love Rox set I love rock my bad my bad I need to do better you know she died I did I didn't know that mhm mhm r a few years ago like 2019 2020 yeah yeah yeah tragedy yep sad hey everybody welcome back to Great measures my name is Richard this is Judson we are going to continue your journey of no I don't want the Rock and metal world with an introduction to a band I don't think you've heard before it's there called called Stone Sour they are uh it's it's Cory Taylor from slipnot it's his other band okay uh this one goes all the way back to the he's the Sanger in it too he's the Sanger he does some he does some guitar stuff I think in this on this band D good yeah yeah um so this is from 2002 this is from the debut self-titled album from Stone Sour song is called bother uh it was featured in the on the Spider-Man soundtrack I think that Toby Maguire Spider-Man movie 2002 is yeah um this was actually the second single released up but this was this song was my introduction to ston sour I had never heard of them until this song came out and uh I think I saw the video or something Stone Sour I think it's the drink I think it's a drink they named them after a mixed drink oh really I think so yeah H I don't know don't quote me on that but I think that's the case I just uh no well did you see the comment I was looking at your beard did you see the comment dude left or somebody left about your neckline no giving you like some compliments like how you get your neckline so straight really yeah yeah I don't know I I don't know who it was I should have looked that I just got to laughing about now I've been staring at your beard I mean it was a positive comment about your beard and your neckline for sure just out of know just do it in front of the mirror I don't know like hey Richard how do you get your neck line so really yeah I'll have to go see if I can find that comment anyway back let's get to Stone Sour this is a very mellow very chill uh lyrics are pretty dark but um means you can't read them yeah you have to have a flashlight right ready y ready to roll proceed [Music] Richard wish I was too dead to cry self reflection face stones to throw my Creator Mass K to which I cater you don't need to bother I don't need to breathe I'll keep slipping father but once I done I won't let go till [Music] it wish I was to death to care if indeed I car at all never had a voice to protest so you fed me sh toest I wish I had a reason my flaws are open season for this I gave up trying one good time deserves my dying you don't need to bother I don't need to be I'll keep slipping father but once I all done I won't let go till the place [Music] wish I died instead Liv a zombie as my face sh forgotten with its memories ties left with cred again trees and you don't need to bother I don't need to be I keep me Father the I Won't Let Go Tell it you don't need to B I don't need to be again I keep sing father on I know I know never let down my dece [Music] what do you think I was bored yeah yeah okay I mean I like the I like the strings yeah but you know you got to play that song guitar mhm I mean he's just holding it and he lets go right um and then he keeps the same chord and a couple of like hammer on and [Music] and and it does there he does that sound like some else doesn't it do it sounds like uh who's crying now from Journey who's crying out from Journey Conor yeah oh I didn't hear that those first two chords yeah that sounds like some El thing I can't get I didn't mean to bore you I just I thought this was a a good CU so this song was actually written and like he's full credited even though this is a stone sour song like he this was his song before it made it on the album I believe is how the story goes um and I thought this would be a good introduction to that band you know in hindsight I probably you know you're becoming more and more of a metal head so you uh get bored with some of this stuff you know but they have some big hits and I thought this would be the the best way to start into that Journey well let me revise I mean let me oh you said bored well and unless you go back and edit this out just just because uh which we don't do we do not do um just because uh you know we both know how to play guitar yeah so hearing hearing how it's played is kind of you know you know that song uh uh wait till tomorrow by uh Jimmy Hendricks I'm standing here free really I don't think so he does that little thing but he hammers on the whole thing and then and then goes down to so when when it's that first yeah Jimmy goes so I was listening to that processing that realizing that it was you know how to play it on guitar mhm and then just it's kind of it's not that difficult no it's not no which nothing wrong with that and I think it you know it's 2002 Cory Taylor's probably mid to late 20s at that point no excuse no but but I'm just saying like I I don't know how long he had been playing guitar at that point well I mean and I'm I'm not vocalist I'm just telling you why I was where I why I was saying I was bored well I'm telling you not to be bored with it all right I know uh I mean I like the strings I I always like the strings it was heavy on I mean it's moving song's moving yeah um did he write the song for Spider-Man I don't think so no uh from what I saw he I believe he moved from one state to another I think it was either to Colorado or from Colorado and he wrote this song about that time period and kind of the I guess the Despair and the um I don't know the the discomfort that came with that move songs about moving from one state well I mean I think it's just his his mental state at that point around that was that song was about leave me alone yeah you don't need to bother I don't need to be I'm I'm I'm going to tear it I'm going to tear it apart yeah um yeah those songs I like songs like that lyrically uh we listen to um Amy win housee right that was her lyrical thing like yeah here I go mhm nothing you can do about it yeah leave me alone I'm about to burn it down and I like that sentiment in writing because um mainly because there's two aspects to it I think there's a certain there's certainty so to say being recovering drug addicts as we are sure um if somebody's trying to help you just using that as a discuss you know the drug thing the dope right that they're dope um if you're going to be in it and you know you're not going to stop doing it and all these people worried about you and whatever you know screw off I'm going it doesn't you know there's a certainty there's a certain anything you say is just going to make me more resentful at you and it doesn't matter what you say no you already change my mind so there's a certainty of it but then going down that road of certainty or that through through the door of certainty leads to a path of complete uncertainty right which I like yeah um I'm all about or used to be all about self-destruction which I've learned now is more it's not just about self-destruction it's about it's about any self I don't want to say the word change but uh or mutation or a very good word but give me a better word here you know you where you you become something you you progression grow development some type of development whether good or bad I thought it was all about self-destruction for a long time so I think that's a beautiful thing you know there's a there's an idea of of love being that way that you you love something or love someone and you know that you do so then you tie yourself to that and and are cast into complete chaos of unknown so I like the lyrical content and I I think the music supports that yeah I just got hung up on the guitar sure I understand we'll do more from them um they rage yeah they've got some they're not slip not heavy but they have uh they have some cool stuff more radio friendly heavier music I guess some of their hits anyways uh they did a few years ago cuz we the reason I'm bringing this one up is cuz we just did this song recently on the channel uh it was a few years ago they did a special they released a uh just a few songs like an EP or something them fellas mhm uh for Record Store Day and one of the songs they did was a cover of creeping death by Metallica and they they did it justice yeah they did really good hm okay then y I saw slipnot got a new Drummer yeah you've been uh keeping up with the metal metal news here and there I mean I'm me I'm I'm in the metal algorithm so there's no way for it not to pop on me yeah but uh yeah I I mean the song there's some catchy lines in there I mean it's it is early 2000s the sound is but I mean the the strings are heavy I I dig that I got I got a little bit MH wow um I got a little bit lost in on the Rhythm every now and then kind of where it was and but that's what strings can offer you that you can you can dismiss Rhythm and right just go into whatever the notes are without worrying about the time um that's it cool we'll do more I think you'll like some of their stuff okay Stone Sour mhm that's alliteration Stone Sour anyway thanks for watching everybody we are great measures my name is Richard this is Judson great Mees that was bother by Stone Sour J did you ever say the name of the song mhm did you yeah huh I could have talk more about bother but have a wonderful day everybody bother [Music]
