[Applause] hi welcome to the fighting 15s I'm Bill and this is station Saturday [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey welcome to Firehouse 15. this is the front entryway to the door I'll let you come on in here it's a little a little tight so 15s is a residential type house built in the late 70s as a temporary fire station for the fire district the Littleton as you can see 45 years later here we are still so let me show you around a little bit we'll do the bedrooms first we'll go down the hallway down here so we usually have five people here it's a dual company engine and medic house three on our engine and two on the medic inside here is this washer and dryer and some a little bit of storage um bedrooms all the way down here um on my shift we try to do all the engine companies stays up here we keep the Medics downstairs it keeps the noise down keeps the guys somewhat rested and isolated from calls so bathroom number one in here both the firefighters will share this bathroom here and back here is the officer's quarters again nice and homey cozy back here uh with uh with their own bathroom and shower in here yeah it was built as a house uh it's a temporary fire station and then the idea I think was to probably sell it it Blends into the neighborhood and some other buyer in a few years could buy from the district and then use it as a house with an oversized Bay okay coming down here from the bedrooms here let's go into the day room there's a little Wall of Fame right here trying to keep some things alive here with Traditions these are all unit citations over the years uh from 15s the crews that were in and out of this station um your normal Firehouse Day room so it's nice and cozy in here um try to Spruce some things up in here a little bit of art on the walls here we have our newer uh mascot on the wall big old fat head on the wall outside this way is our patio it's a decent sized patio like the other stations a grill no smoker back there um coming in around the corner to our kitchen uh the firehouse table everybody's got their own Firehouse table their stations um as per some of the other videos this is where a lot of the world's problems get solved in the firehouse a lot of good times happens at these tables so I like that tradition in the firehouse coffee's still going the kitchen uh pretty tiny here um it's you know with with five folks here trying to cook their own stuff it gets pretty tight so um we'll talk about this later but we are getting an upgrade in this station so I'll mention it here in a minute walking out this way our district map right here kind of gets oriented here we can look at this thing study it whenever we need to just to find out where crews are running calls from the district behind here is our office so [Applause] really no privacy I guess for any other Crews this is where the officer does their work this is where the crew is going to get their work done copy machine here pretty simple basic office down in the basement there is one more computer down there too that the Medics can access to do their reports we'll walk out this way to The Bays all right coming out here to the base so it's pretty tight out here in our apparatus Bay it's big enough pretty much just for one pumper and we do have a medic unit medic 15 on the other side over there as you can see the quarters are pretty tight in here um again gear lockers over here that's where we keep some of our extra SCB bottles along this wall over here and this takes us back out to the front door of the station all right coming around the engine to the front here watch your step so and this is where our medic sits over here um kind of an interesting thing we did here last year we had to modify the garage doors here so as you can see the garage door behind you here is a little bit different than the one that's married to there this one actually it's a roll-up garage door and what they did they didn't raise the station but they took all that overhead carriage and stuff for the overhead garage door off in anticipation of having a larger fire truck here this is a legacy Littleton fire engine so it's a little bit shorter to accommodate some of the old traditional Littleton firehouses um so we remedy that by actually getting rid of the overhead up here this is the only bait this they can fit in so if we were to have an issue with this garage door here we can't really park it over here but we can with this engine but if we had another type of engine here we couldn't it wouldn't fit and then another issue we ran into when we completed that we had an issue with the length so some of these little 10 engines are a little bit shorter a more Legacy if you will type South Metro engine is a little bit longer and we had an issue with clearance back here so you can see the the South Metro pump if you will would come to right about here so there wasn't much room for Crews to get by if a medic had a had a call they'd have to kind of scurry across to get to their medic unit and this is our workbench back over here uh radio back here tools equipment and stuff hang on real quick here what is that noise back there hang on hang on hey whoa whoa whoa whoa what's going on here we're not supposed to be doing demo quite yet that's not for another couple more months okay what's going on oh hey we have some great news station 15 we're going to be relocating to station 37 and sometime in March uh we're getting a brand new Station construction should kick off sometime in July this summer we're approximately looking at maybe 12 months to 18 months time out so look for an opening of the new Station 15 coming to you sometime summer of 2024. okay we're working our way downstairs now down here in the basement is the two extra bedrooms for our medic units they have their own bathroom and shower down here the other computer I was telling you about our EMS storage and our weight room so follow me a little Corridor here here's our EMS supplies our covid coveralls to the left here some miscellaneous radio equipment and stuff down here because again the bays are pretty tight so this was probably the best place to store this stuff down here keeps it out of our way in The Bays um Sarah's in her room there uh bathroom number three down here and then the two bedrooms off to the right down this way and then that leads us into our as we officially call it the fit pit down here um it's decent down here it's a decent size setup we've had Wellness work with this on trying to get the correct complement of equipment down here making sure that we're staying up on our fitness and then these you closets back behind here is this utilities extra storage uh water closet if you will and then our ever so present Mr Tony palato so engine 15 was supposed to have a fourth but because of the size of our station we still have enough bedrooms to accommodate that with the medic company here that puts us at five or Max Capacity of our Personnel in this station so we've had to forego having our fourth on the engine hopefully the next couple years we'll get that fourth person added foreign [Music] [Applause] foreign let's see what the lucky station's gonna be for the next station Saturday yeah we've got Station 22 22s you guys are up [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music]
