Firehouse 45 - Station Saturday

oh hello it's you again lieutenant dan wills here on uh station saturday you like a tour come on in follow me [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] california so [Music] foreign a few moments later yeah so uh up front we've got our community room here where all kinds of different events and groups meet make reservations through our our main office and you too can have your event here at station 45 we host all kinds of things weddings bar mitzvahs you know sunday brunch you just come on by uh bathrooms for public use if we're out here using those we might not hear the tone so we we try and stay out of that and then we've got our off space uh everybody's gotta do their reports and their target solutions chief that one's for you we want to keep up on those make sure everybody's up to date a little station history and department history here on the wall we kind of chronicled as the old parker fire 45s this was the house that got my academy hired sorry all those that don't necessarily care for my academy but you know and jeff pepper made us this colorado flag out of fire hose when he was stationed here years back and we've got a little history of all the different battalion chiefs that have served battalion 4 in the recent past and then the cornerstone of every good truckee is physical fitness follow me on into the fitness room i think we got a couple titans moving mountains in here now working we're good oh hey it's here again ah as a lieutenant tell you fitness here at south metro is very important as you can see it's a light day here at 45. uh we take fitness very serious especially being on the tower we get to do a lot of cool stuff oh wait where's our lieutenant an engineer oh they're outside taking safety naps i'll let them kind of take you around see you thanks kevin you know safety naps are an important part of the beauty regimen here at 45s you be the judges of whether or not it's working where we spend most of our evenings and just kind of relaxing hanging out after a long day if you take a look at the wall we've got our logo up there which is uh mammoth which came from mammoth elementary school so mammoth elementary is named after an excavation that happened when they were breaking ground to set the foundation and found mammoth bones so they kind of froze everything for a while and uh had to excavate those and that's where uh we take our name from the beast from the east kind of represents a tower and our and our collapse unit and uh kind of a fun little logo for the the station but you incorporate it in our station table as well you'll see a lot of different fire houses make their own uh dinner tables and just kind of build some station pride through through those kind of projects some of you might have noticed the the dog crate over here as well this is our dog tag he's a rescue dog hashtag rescue tax handler is uh adam cooper who's a member of the crew and is probably out in the base how about i take you out there and we'll take a look around the bay and see the apparatus [Music] as we head out to the bay just a quick mention of this space here it's a simple laundry room and and uh muck room so that way we've got somewhere to uh wash truck towels and mops and everything for uh taking care of the station if you follow me yeah there's gonna be a vehicle fire or that yeah just gotta run this quick uh vehicle fire and we'll be right back with you with segment two of our station tour i think it's in the front right there like yeah a few moments later so follow me out with me where i think engineer adam cooper might be working oh hi it's you again let's uh take a look at our the vehicles we have in 45s we have a tinder uh three thousand gallons of water we take in our unhydrated areas and uh right now we're in our reserve uh tower our frontline tower is now in the shops waiting for the engineer promotional exam they're gonna be using that one for the promotional exam and then we also have our collapse rig 45s is a technical rescue house and we house this bad boy here uh this will be uh the feature of another uh fleet friday so uh welcome to 45s well thanks adam if you want to follow me i'll show you our bunk rooms it's after a long day of working the streets and training and taking care of rigs and working out and such we do have the advantage of having our own bunk rooms so everybody's able to bed down and try and get some good rest be ready for the next call second day some guys don't necessarily make their bed their mothers would be ashamed and then on the other side of the room yeah there's those who are taking care of their bed and keeping everything tucked and neat [Music] [Applause] [Music] that was a draw really i mean actually it's adam well no because i don't know he loses to this so you know one so because i i eat adam and then you i cut paper okay so i guess if you want to pick we all lost [Music] and one of the two are [Music] station 23.
