Starfield on Steamdeck is great - here's why!

there's been a lot of press about if star field runs on the steam deck and if it's worth running Starfield on the steam deck in fact ours Technica even did an article about the fact of sure it runs but is it worth playing uh and I look into a lot of this before I bought Starfield and I wish I hadn't even looked because a lot of the information was pretty crap a lot of the videos showing side-by-side comparisons and how to squeeze an extra 10 FPS out of the game and showing how bad it looks in certain parts of the game to be honest it's all crap uh this game runs perfectly fine on Steam deck I mean this is my only gaming system I don't have a gaming PC that I also play with just the steam deck and my Mac um but I'm completely happy with this put in about 100 hours of Fallout 4 on the steam deck and really enjoyed it had no problems at all and to be completely honest this doesn't feel any different than that the frame rate the glitches there's no issues at all it's the same in my opinion it's the same as Fallout 4 ran on here which I think Fallout 4 ran beautifully on here if you're a hardcore gamer and you have a crazy graphics card and a gaming PC sitting in your office or something are you gonna be happy with this no I don't think you would be but uh why would you be watching this video I'm just gonna play it on your crazy gaming computer for those of us that are casuals uh which I think is the majority of the steam deck Market it's perfect um yeah I'm not gonna talk about battery life because I only play it plugged in on the couch I'm not going to talk about frame rate because I don't care um does it play does it play well absolutely um it's really fun and uh perfectly reasonable to play this on a steam deck these are the settings I've used they work really well and I think they look really good you might bump down your render resolution scale if you're going into a place that has a really low frame rate and that's easy to do um everything else is pretty low those are my settings it runs fine even in the city new Atlantis where everybody says that it runs terribly it's totally fine I thought it was going to be nearly unplayable in there based on the footage I saw and I think it's maybe because some people are recording video from the game directly onto their steam deck and pulling the video files off if they're doing that they're idiots because that's going to absolutely decimate your frame rate by trying to have the processor also record the screen or if you're using a video out and you're recording it to an external capture card or something also going to kill your frame rate because your GPU is trying to render the game and Export the video so the only way to really test this is going to be on battery or plugged in doesn't really matter I guess um on the actual console itself this is a great game and it's totally playable on the steam deck thanks for watching foreign
