Springfield 1903 A3 Chapter 2

Haycock 45 and you're looking at a beautiful rifle I think you can tell that if you have any affection for bolt-action military surplus rifles this is definitely one to have some affection for the old Audrey Springfield the a3 this is made by Remington of course for world war ii the in 1943 i don't know if that's after a freedom group bought them out or not you reckon it is now there's an older remington i think it's safe from whatever freedom group brought up on remington right so we'll assume it's made pretty well seems to be and this is mine this didn't come from buds I've had this for a while now we do appreciate Bud's gun shop Tom helping us out so much so be sure you check out all the good stuff going on over there this is an older rifle like I said 1943 and we're gonna shoot it some more in a chapter two now we don't want to confuse you because that wouldn't be nice I stay confused I don't want other people to be as confused as I am you know recently we changed the naming of some of these videos for just a practical reason we were calling anything we did over on range to a chapter two yeah brought the gun out again and I realize the wait a minute okay yeah it's great shooter the smaller targets different kinds of targets but I'd kind of like to bring it out here shoot again sometime well like we do with handguns and some other things and so we're calling those range hood he went back and renamed them okay so anything done over there with a rifle it's a range to video even if in the video I said this is chapter two that's okay we can live with that so going forward now we're we're just going to if we want to shoot it here again we're just going to do it it's going to be the chapter two that's going to be arranged to over there okay so there's too many firearms that I wanted to shoot again right here and I wanted to get out again and I know you'd like to see again because you keep requesting it you know get out the all three again no Hickok and there's yeah something a great idea and I look at it one away man we've already done a chapter two so I got to thinking about it and whenever I get to thinking that's speaking of thinking please go to one of my favorite rifles this really is I the odd three in general is one of my favorite rifles and this one I'll let you guess a quiz what makes this one a step above the others I don't hear you yeah I do hear a couple of you because I shot a lot of rifles it's that sight isn't it having been installed or moved back here helps got a nice peeps ight there go string sight whatever and it's right here well we like it it's one of the you know I guess a lot of people don't talk about one of the cool things about an ar-15 of sacrilege is talking about an ar-15 with this in my hand but really one of the things that makes it so suitable if you didn't know this you might have grown up and have never really shot many other firearms but like an AR with the ghost ring or the peep sight on the back you pick it out to look through it find the front post shoot it you know and but it's such an improvement over just having a blade up here somewhere like an ache a dip eclis and they're kind of hard to focus on sometimes and all that well having a ghost ring or a peep sight back here closer to your eye and in a good front sight blade or whatever post it just makes a firearm a rifle more suitable I think for most people another exception some people preferably and all that at Buckhorn site or whatever but boy I just really like this and it makes it wonderful to shoot speaking of that why don't we shoot some okay shooting some of this federal what is a 150 grain Full Metal Jacket got a little fusion there on my sheet now I have it loaded and so I'm going to put one in the chamber and I think I'll just start out blowing something up since I have some power in my hands like that bucket right there I just felt the need to do that you know so now let's go over to the square sheets of Steel dot-com target see if I hit it you know what I was gonna well I'll wait do that I was gonna put the pan on my shoulder but I'll make do without it maybe I shouldn't make do without it all right rocks it 3006 hits pretty hard hi you know what our Gong is now ar500 why don't we just put one on it hopefully it won't damage it that's one reason I went to here we went ahead and replace it so we could shoot it with other things occasionally I'm not gonna just felt it every every day was something that's powerful but that's yeah what the heck you only live once right so yeah I was going to put this on again just as part of the information and instruction here I really don't need this with you know typical 150 grand I'm 60 grain ammo it doesn't kick that bad I don't think that badly but this gives me the length of pull I could tell when I was citing it there and I almost just brought it down and can't wear and put that on when I bring it up it brings my eye back away from that rear and everything it makes us sites work better for me that way more important than any recoil absorption okay so what's that a limb saver and that just works well yeah I think it's a world war two limb so pretty funny huh if you have not shot a lot of these old military surplus rifles you know get at it what's wrong with you and I know a lot of you and young people you you have interest in these with Somoza nor these Mauser and maybe it's because you learned about them in video games and you'd like to shoot them well I'm here to tell you if you enjoy the video game that's fine you would really enjoy them in real life you know non virtual life just as much there you know may I shoot everything from fully automatic to single shots and I enjoy everything there's really nothing I enjoy more than these they're just fun to shoot so if you think you would enjoy them you would you even if you think you wouldn't you probably would they're they're a dream they really are and there's a again I'll put a link to the first video on it was the the world war ii version of the aw three Springfield was used in World War when you know one and we're well everywhere for Rio you run on it through and then World War two but in World War two and that they started you know in the a3 version they moved the sights on it and that was really the biggest difference I guess and they saw use in World War two so anyway slowly mob lets you little fuse young you want to Anderson who knows how many people use these as hunting rifles even not that happy all that unusual so many other bids Porter eyes for that and it's really a nice bolt if you notice I'll put the bolt cutoff on let's see it's very smooth I mean it's just almost like glass locks up well it you know I think the Mauser might have copied this this was such a great bowl did you get that one haha yeah before you start screaming at me that was a joke as most of you already know we actually copied mousers bolt designs so this is most of a Mauser bolt right so that's okay it's a great one and it works works beautifully so the cut off now the cut off if I have it I think I've probably shown you all that that is that just keeps the mag down and you can have ammo in there see now holds the bolt back but it keeps it from loading the next round so if you want to put a different kind of round in or something whatever load one round at a time you still have four or five in there you can do that alright so now it's all sure where I want it I'm gonna put some in this is the fusion we appreciate federal furnishing this great ammo save my clip that is a clip by the way let's go there let's try the middle plate red plate now I've got my pad on I don't have as much excuse for missing had to come up with another one I'm going low but on this okay I'll bring it up a little more yep open love I'm gonna try the little one of course I hid it before the video I'm jerking the trigger and everything else on that one we'll try it again yeah I just took one shot before the video just to make sure I knew where the hold so I hit the little one okay John I'm ready to go we'll try it again oh well those were fusion I wonder if they there we go I do have an excuse there 165 grain oh yeah it might even be a different velocity so I'm shooting a different bullet that maybe has a different point of impact I got my excuse I was looking for all right okay now this is the regular ammo so to come up with a different excuse again you know I enjoy shooting these so much I don't even care if I miss alright now if I were in battle I would let's go back to the big one work our way over I might have to adjust that get it up a little bit yeah I try the middle one again felt good all right I'll try the little one again I feel redeemed okay just got a slowdown just like what I'm shooting a handgun over there and I get the shooting too fast you know it's just the way I do sometimes gotta shoot the paper yet no let's put one on there I think we have one left bull's eye am I good or what I mean that was a good shot because you know even though it's a 30 out six look how far away that is amazing whoa man yeah it was amazing even without a scope at seven yards or whatever that is oh man I'm sorry little silly today I I just get extra energy when I've got such a beautiful rifle and oh it's funny I will have to shoot it some more well see was anything else I wonder if there's anything I forgot to tell you about it in the old video the first video probably not this just a shoot at chapter 2 like I said the I'm really pleased that we have changed the names of some of these because there were so many of our firearms I was just wondering shooting I do I come out shoot them that's a you know the viewers would probably like to see this again but what we're going to call it I don't really want to do a revisit yet maybe we just had shot it a month ago or two months ago it just dawned on there was a big gap there we need to shoot these on this range some more have some fun with them and then bring them out because I'm gonna do it either way and I knew you would be upset if I didn't invite you along okay so just try and be nice to you know hard made to be nice to anybody but you don't wat a part of rich environment right here let's see you do realize I could just push that forward I'll go do it with that fall and I'll pick it up and here's your safety so locks up everything and you know what I think I had it yeah I've got a clip in my pocket too okay okay so I need extra ammo so for that's pretty that's a pretty thing let's uh we've got some well we've got you know like target-rich environment right here so I'm gonna take care of some of this got the bowling pins from shrapnel whoa collateral damage ah I see two two leaders lined up here see if I can get two birds with one stone here the red and orange just trying to conserve ammo very careful I won't hit my steel here this guy man 30 aught six powerful round I happen to have a clip in my pocket yeah it's a rusty one look at that it's pathetic why would I have such a rusty clip let's just push him down let's come up and do a little pot smoking right here yeah and there's the kentucky two-liter I miss it when we don't have a Kentucky two-liter Oh what else here no what else oh there's a paint there's a faulty paint can right there it just won't work scare him I see a pot oh here it needs to be smoked nice I'm go back to the big old square shoot some steel target and shoot some steel got him on the last shot oh boy and I've probably shown you I don't know if we get it in focus or not but the the barrel there that gives the with my hands where they'll focus better but it's the Remagen arms and the the date March 43 that's pretty cool you know to have a firearm again that was used and you know made and used back in World War 2 era that is an excellent boat gun to have for whatever you might be doing today you know you don't get a action II better than the Mauser action of course that's what these are all based on and just a good old firearm like this it's got a great safety on it and bring it up to be safe all the way over locks everything up of course there's nothing in it now pop it on your shoulder and go to war go to the hunting tree or whatever you're doing hunting woods and you got thirty out six which is a nice round as there's a an enormous number of different sorts of ammo available for thirty out six 308 you know for hunting just about any kind of medium I guess large game thirty out six has been used for a lot a lot of years as a there's a hunting around and offers a lot of power very similar 308 ballistically except the 3006 has a little bit more upward pretend potential because it's got more case space so not a lot of difference but you can if your hand loader especially as I understand you can get more out of it if you want to but by and large especially in NATO loadings there's not that much difference in the military loadings so for these old rifles anyway alright and these are really strong I still wouldn't want to shoot anything too hot Magnum eyes you know an old rifle like this just the standard loadings are fine they in great sight if you're ever in the market for something like the this is these are great because they get that great sight there's there's no downside that I can think of great bolt the Mauser bolt and a great sight system if you're looking for a bolt to action there yeah wonderful so I just enjoy getting getting it back out we handed out the the other day a friend of mine was out longtime friend of mine and we were doing some shooting and got it out and just took a few shots just just a wonderful rifle fit to
