Spartan Body Armor Shooting Range Test with Thompson | AR15

you've probably been playing a ton of call of duty war zone like myself but we decided to finally get outside because a few things about the game have been catching my attention mostly the way the game portrays body armor and i'm not talking about carrying around eight plates while you're sprinting and swapping them out but what really caught my attention in the game was how many rounds a plate could potentially take before it cracked or before it became unusable unsafe and you had to swap it out we reached out to spartan armor we asked them a bunch of questions they gave us a bunch of information and essentially they said we'd run out of ammo before we broke it yeah so we're gonna put that to the test today we have our uh best friend right here we got petey we're gonna suit petey up we're gonna get pd plates and we're gonna blast rounds at pd and see if it's true can spartan body armor handle multiple rounds to the chest and keep you safe spartan armor systems made all of this possible by providing us with their american-made spartan ar 550 level 3 plus steel core body armor unlike ceramic plates it's rated to handle multiple hits from a range of rifle caliber rounds that include xm 193 m855 ss109 m80 ball and 762 by 39. if you're a first responder veteran or active member of the military head over to their site now and get 10 off your first order you'll regret it if you don't now we're going to throw some 556 into the steel core plate because let's be honest no one brags about stopping 308 [Music] yeah that was definitely all it [Applause] [Music] the plastic is a little cracked right there that's it but yeah no deformation or anything on the backside so we're gonna keep pushing on it we're not done yet uh the next round that we're gonna move to is nine millimeter dude look at that we got one that embedded in there but you go to the back side here nothing absolutely nothing no deformation whatsoever i'm sure if you were wearing this plate and got hit it would rock you just in terms of impact however nothing's going through your system so the game is definitely using ceramic plates and not steel core because i shouldn't be swapping my plate so often it's unrealistic in the other way right why are they breaking if they were sparring armor plates they would be you probably need a medic you probably need like to swap out your internal organs not if you do i do a lot of ab crunches man i'd be good i think honestly all right we're gonna give a couple of shots from the 45. [Music] still nothing on the other side yeah completely no deformation it's still catching every round too yeah like we're not getting massive fragmentation at all like that coating is hugging it perfectly yeah let's put a couple more of the i want to fire do a few more look what it does to just a regular metal boy man did i you got a little excited there oh no nice and you put a round through after the plate fell down i'm sure it absolutely did yeah again completely safe on the back nothing the coating is holding up well for the pounding that this is taking right now i mean because this is not a light test by any means i'm thoroughly impressed right now very so we did it we took spartan armor steel core plate this is threat level three and we filled it with five five six nine millimeter and forty five and it's safe to say that call of duty war zone is completely inaccurate if i'm gonna be wearing any body armor i would definitely go with a spartan armor call of duty warzone uh expect an email from me and hopefully we can make some updates if you enjoyed watching us shoot up the spartan armor system steel core plates be sure to subscribe so you can watch episode 2 where we discuss the difference between steel core ceramic and composite plates and of course we shoot them as well you
