hello and welcome back if you're new here my name is Aileen Senpai I'm a streamer on Twitch an amateur singer and a lover of Arkansas Music and today we're going to be continuing our Deep dive of Chris Cornell's vocals and another group you all let me know he was in is called sound garden I cannot wait as y'all let me know that he was in so many various different groups and we're going to tackle them all together I really really just want to continue to educate myself perioda's Legacy and really appreciate one of the greatest voices of all time to be honest I I really did I have enjoyed this journey so far and it'll have been so incredibly helpful along the way and I just can't wait to continue this with you guys but if you do enjoy this content please be sure to leave a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe and hit that Bell so you never miss my videos ever again with that being said let's get started with today's video thank you [Music] nice little tempo foreign [Music] [Music] blackness [Music] okay I I love how that you're very prominent in the drums in the beginning it's a really nice Tempo the guitar and the drums are really doing some good magic there and obviously when Chris comes in it's very uh I don't know how to explain it you get this very somber especially if you read the lyrics uh you get this very kind of like somber aspect of it and when it went to the the actually saying the line fell on Black Days I noticed the bass went up a little bit it was a little a lot more prominent I really loved that you know little riff there I thought that was so nice uh I love this so much it is a different side of course from when I saw the Audio Slave uh version of him in in that group I don't know if that was before this or for those after let me know in the comments below I'm not really sure on the timeline of that but it is very different but I'm really loving that kind of like almost groovy somberness I know that sounds kind of weird because groovy and sad put together is not really something that you would imagine but it really makes that message a lot more powerful uh yeah I I really do I am enjoying this but let me know let me know in the comments uh which one which order was what um I do believe that earlier stuff you guys have said was a lot more grungy so I guess we'll just continue and find out with the journey together so yeah I went back a little bit I'm gonna go back one more time uh that way we get a nice little I transition to the next part but let's continue through [Music] this thank you [Music] okay I feel like I kind of want to watch a little bit more of that I loved especially if you listen to uh I think it says the lines uh how could I know this would be my fate but the way he's kind of sinking it it almost feels like you're going into this like uh Mania hysteria and then he goes and does the little like ooze in the background uh to add like a nice little Harmony it kind of really feels like a whale it's so interesting when you hear the whole context of the song and he has this he he picks and chooses his moments to really really Elevate songs you know he doesn't always have to be out of 10. you know he can be there for sure but he doesn't always have to do that and when he does those moments it makes those moments that much more special I really really love how he plays around with songs he really likes to dance with notes and that's something that's so incredibly special about his voice and something that I've come to learn and love in just a very short amount of time so I really want to just hear that last part again because I love not even just his voice but instrumental everyone was really going well it was like a nice little harmony with the instruments and I thought it was so damn cool but I'm gonna continue [Music] foreign [Music] give me [Music] [Applause] something that you want to fly him [Music] soon [Music] settlemented [Music] let's go this could be mine [Music] be my friend [Music] all right I I truly loved the whole song being so it felt like almost like the Calm before the storm in the first you know three minutes of the Sun and then it takes it all the way home we are just I don't even know how to even explain I feel like I need to lift my jaw off the floor that gritty vibrato that he had the way he was yelling and screaming and you just felt like he felt every single word and every inch of his body and it sounds so I didn't even know how to explain it just pierces through your body like you just feel it coming through the screen and you just kind of in shock and honestly all of the above I really truly feel like I went through all of the stages of just shocking the last minute of the song I just felt like instrumentally vocally everything was just so Controlled Chaos it was really truly just all over the place but in the best way possible and hearing him the way he was just kind of like looking at you with that dead pen stare uh staring at us right in the eyes and just kind of you you can just tell that this song was really something that was so powerful and he meant everything in there I really just probably not even making sense at this point to be honest I feel like this was just so much and I I just I can't I can't I can't believe that it took me this long to get more into Chris Cornell as I feel like I don't know I I feel I feel like an idiot honestly to be quite Fair because this is just something that I've really been missing for a long time and now there's so much out there I truly thought that Audio Slave was the best version of Chris Cornell and you guys kept telling me to listen to Soundgarden now I get what you guys are talking about this was grunge in its most purest form and I'm just I'm here for the ride I'm all in for this I have a little more to say I'm gonna try to stop babbling compose myself but I want to say a little bit more so let's just analyze this a little further one thing that I really truly appreciated about this song was honestly of course there was Talent there was so much musical vocal talent and that is just undeniable that's a given but what I really appreciated as well was the songwriting you know this was incredibly poetic if you really kind of look through I I went back and I reread a lot of the lyrics and it really hit so much harder especially when you start getting into the bridge of the song uh obviously I fell on black days I'm assuming it's supposed to be falling on depression usually you associate gray black days with being something like a bad mood or or going through a depression spell which I understand all too well I've dealt with depression my whole life and honestly knowing how his fate did end up turning out makes this a lot more powerful a lot more honestly anguishing you really see a man yelling these lyrics feeling every single word in these lyrics and there are just really describing the way depression feels you know it is Hazard down to a T and I feel like he needed that they wrote this song and I really feel like with the way that he sang it almost screaming at the end you really truly feel like he needs this as well like this was a form of therapy putting his words out on paper and a way to express himself and in the process he has helped a lot of people as well you know people probably listening to this back then in here in president myself you know you really feel like you are not alone you feel like you were hurt and you really truly understand why he says things the way they you know that he is he feels like it's almost like a a whale like a cry for help and especially the instruments as well it really did feel like a mental breakdown if that makes sense the way everything was just so chaotic it really truly feels like it's trying to depict the the you know voices in your head that feeling of being caught in this you know having a cloud over your head you really truly feel like everything was just it felt like pure Madness but it felt also incredibly good you know it was very cathartic at the end you feel kind of like you're out of loss for words you can't breathe and everything is just kind of like slapping you in the face and there's just so much truth and you feel like whoa this is exactly what I'm feeling and they really put that out there for us and it's just such a perfect depiction of depression you know it's you know probably not going to take away those feelings but at the same time it helps you with your process and it helps you realize like yes I I don't feel alone in this and I really truly appreciate you know him writing this or whoever wrote this if it was a collective group but it really felt like the way he was singing it that this was something that he was truly feeling and really needed to get out there uh but I know he is dearly missed we have lost so many incredible talents way too young way too soon and I really truly I'll honor his legacy may he rest in piece and I really truly hope that you know he has found his piece as well as I know a lot of people you know are still hurting over his loss and I see why as he was such an incredibly gifted person and he really truly I'm just you know sad that I got the best of him but thank you so much for recommending me this I now am aware Soundgarden was definitely living up to everything you guys said I love music from this time period you know I really truly want to dive more into it and we will I got a lot of recommendations so thank you again for that I really really can't wait to continue to discover and educate myself on the great that was Chris Cornell uh but thank you for that let me know which other ones you want me to do in the comments below I know I've been getting so many recommendations I promise you we're going to be doing so many different versions of them whether it's through Audioslave himself uh some more Temple of the Dog and of course sound
