hi I'm Sheila and this is my trailer it's made by Intec it's called the Luna I've had it for about four years only used to do weekend trips and then I decided to take a year off and travel through all the western states hiking and camping with my two dogs sound asleep over there make sure you stick around until the end of this walk through as Sheila will be sharing the three things she likes about this trailer and the three things she thinks can be improved plus she'll share a few gold nuggets near the end of this video about the lifestyle and some tips and tricks for you the thing I loved about the Luna for me coming from a tent it's hardly higher than my car or wider so very very easy to tow very easy and I only needed my Explorer I think it weighs about 2 000 gvr or whatever that coating is it does not have a bathroom so know that up front but from a tent I didn't care inside here it has two doors so nice breeze that comes through plus it just makes it easier to get in and out of course windows and if you come around here can I open the how does this window work it's a oh it is just a turn if you're in here it just that's as far out as it will open okay and then it just goes like that okay yep and I like how it sits flush yes that was another thing I like too there are disadvantages to it though the rear kitchen which for me was Heaven electric cooler no more ice if you're on Shore power there's a microwave and if not under all the dog stuff is mine is a three burner propane stove top the newer ones are just two this is where the battery is housed in here and then in here if you open it up is where the air conditioner it's the back side of the air conditioner heat pump so I got all these just clear things so I can see what's in everything and it doesn't fall out all the time when we're driving to come through and of course it does have a sink with I believe an eight gallon I have never used it yeah I don't want to have to bother so it's been winterized and I've never unwinterized it so can you show folks it's hard to tell on video this is massive so I think we're six foot wide on the galley right yes and then look at the size of this hatch can you put your hand up there so people can see this is I think the biggest hatch in these oh yeah okay it's ginormous yes I love it sometimes you do have to use your stepping stool so that you can get it and not jump and I'll tell you I even sometimes when it's raining it's really nice because I can stand here and make my dinner and I don't get wet because it comes out so far yeah so I I do really like that speakers here because there is a stereo we will see that when we're inside but you can hear the music inside and outside or separate it and the best part of the outside for all of us which really makes it feel a lot bigger inside is this beautiful window which this is a bra that you can buy and it I think it's very important to absolutely get it it protects from the rocks that flow up because you don't want rocks chipping or doing anything to the glass it's like winch car windshield glass so I also from another YouTube person added this I don't even know what it's called the foil insulation not for that but it's another protection from a heavier Rock hitting that it gives it a cushion so you did take this in one time to be fixed ah I when I first bought my tray train rinse I jack knife right into and so shattered it they tried to fix it at the dealership with the regular glass guys you know that do your car they could not get this where it was under it was sticking out the lip the actual glass it wasn't flush like this and that's just not acceptable when you're vibrating to do it so we actually had to send it back to intact were they in their Factory under their pressure mechanisms to me no matter what they say a regular glass person cannot replace us and you're probably the second or third person who's told me that but the beauty of this story is the power of insurance right yes so State Farm even though they had to take it to intact in order to properly fix my vehicle under the covers did Cover that added expense of going down they're having to send it back down there and them doing it now the newer models this is not true they switched it this is where my propane tank sits and the newer models it's sitting well because they did that fireplace option and a toilet it sits on the back and it's this is a 20 pound the newer ones is only 10 pound pro paint because it's a smaller space I also feel I got this Arc yeah um what are they called This is called a jocking jack because you're able to move it around without bending your Jack this is worth every penny that it is I've been in sand and still because this trailer every day when I would when I would come home in my old house because it was elevated and I could not back up into there it was a narrow from a busy street so I would have to drive in and then turn unhook and turn this trailer around to get it off to the side so you can move this trailer very easily and this makes it so easy even in sand as long as you're level any trailer you buy I would be getting an arc to do that above you do have the max air fan which I love and it has the cover so it can be open even when it's raining and then those two little rabbit ears are so that you can auto scan to see if there happen to be any local channels for the TV first of all it has that slant forward and then just having that outside come in makes this feel bigger it's hard to explain but it's got like in yeah uh a nice curve in it yes a bow and from the front instead of being straight up and down they angled out so it gives a little bit more if I do like that maybe you can see and of course this does have the shade that you can pull down is that a pure blackout yes on my model right under here as you saw from this a is the propane tank on the newer models you have a choice this opens up because the propane is on the side and you can get a porta potty put in there one of the fetch words so that you at least have a toilet because there is no bathroom here each of these seats actually opens up to give you more storage in here also besides a place to sit now in here I leave the bed all the time but this is actually if you can see this split right here it is actually two futons that fold in half so that you can make a chair two chairs with this as your back on there so if you fold that in half and then put this there you have your reclining part and when you do that that's so you can watch this monster TV if you really want to the newer models are not that large they're still pretty big but they don't take the whole wall it also has your stereo that you could do DVDs in here also I honestly have only used this one time but with those antennas if you're at places you can scan for the channels and watch your local TV if you want I do use this with Bluetooth to have music you see the speakers on each side and then you have them outside in the kitchen too so that you can hear it there and here's the air conditioner heat pump in here only works with Shore power the newer models have an option over here that you can get a fireplace that's on propane that will heat your thing and then you just have your air conditioner I as I say I leave this bedding down all the time because I have the two dogs and I have a clam shell that we use as our living room so I'm going to put in the stuff that I usually always have in here because I'm traveling for a year so I had to have clothes for all that okay so what I did first clothing I am very anal and I can't stand creases in my shirts so I got those little command hook things and my shirts on both sides I put them here they stay hanging even hiking and camping I know it doesn't matter but it bothered me so shorts long pants pajamas little jackets bathing wear these are the greatest things they're easy to lift if you ruin them they're cheap you go get a new one every time when I go to move it's easy to lift them and I just lay them on their backs on the bedding so with all your boondocking how efficient is this like the LED lights like what are you running for a battery amazing um I have a I did change out the battery and got a 100 amp lithium battery for that very reason but if I run the LED lights because I'll read in here so let's just say I read for about three hours at night I'm 100 I read about three hours at night I run the max air fan of course depending on the percentage the higher the rate the more it uses but I usually keep it about 30 until it gets too cold but if I do that and the electric cooler is running I might use up 25 over through the night but then my solar easily kicks it back kicks it back in even if it's not even that bright out if you were to do this again would you suggest to people putting some sort of rooftop solar or do you absolutely I actually two months ago about three months into my travels I was in Colorado and I called a company unfortunately as with all of them they're about a year out undoing stuff like that so it was like well then I'll stay with my portable solar until I am done with this year grounded and can wait and how about this toilet if you were to get the new model would it be something you actually use I personally would not that'd be us too I don't like you can use a bucket for urine to me that's easy and then you just you know if you go a lot at night and then you just take it into the Vault toilet and empty it and clean out your little bucket I don't want stool in a small space like this I don't care if it's only for a few hours I I don't want to empty it either I tent camping I know how to do cat holes and to me that's much more sanitary agreed agreed but that's everyone's Choice yep exactly and then we got the his and hers reading light back here yes I just use the LEDs because that's not enough to me to read by not the blue and that one is Pitch Black does that make sense you wanna you wanna know a trick turn that off and hold it down for two seconds oh do you know how now I'll be using even way less battery oh my God seen why did they never tell me that I personally feel it is perfect for me but that I don't care that I can't stand up fully because as I say I have a living room in the clamshell for my dogs and myself it gives us all the floor space and then everything else is in the back away from you not taking away from your breathing room inside of there and that's what I found in a lot of the other ones I looked at I love them for other reasons but I felt trapped and I knew if I was going to be in here with two dogs I didn't want to feel that way so far I see no reason that I if I choose to could not continue to live in this I love it I love it that much I would do the solar panels I would get the solar panels on the top the fixed ones maybe add another lithium battery just for safety's sake to have 200 amps total then you I don't think I'd ever have to worry I could Boondock for weeks between the solar and having that power nothing you know and how about the lifestyle is it doable if somebody wanted to do this like was it a stretch did you have to really work into getting used to this or was it more natural than you expected no I think it was more natural and I'm not I am a very minimalist person anybody would tell you in my home like when I sold and moved it was so easy to box me up and pack because I don't save everything so in that way this was nothing for me it I don't have a lot of clothes I wear scrubs to work didn't need to bring those and other than I've always just been shorts and blue jeans before we go back to that let's talk three things you like about this trailer and three things you wish were different all right well the three things I absolutely love is the ease of Towing this trailer um I don't I didn't need stretch side view mirrors it's barely taller than my vehicle barely wider I can get in anywhere and do anything I can Boondock anywhere make corners I'm not limited by anything other than my skill that would be the only thing my backup skill I I just love the ease of everything I love having that kitchen maybe I would change the space for the electric cooler because now Dometic has that combo you can have it cooler refrigerator freezer because I do miss having a freezer I can't my dogs used to love to eat frozen green beans we can't have that anymore it's nice maybe sometimes have a little ice cream or have a frozen pizza to put in your microwave if you're hooked to shore power but I can't do that because I only have the refrigerator so if they could maybe make a space that still slid out that would accommodate that Dometic life would be perfect then you would truly have everything you would because I don't need a bathroom you don't and nowadays by the way everybody if you join which I haven't done but you can join Planet Fitness for I guess cheap and they're all over the United States I myself uh even little towns have community centers rec centers that offer showers usually for three to five dollars I have found that the Flying J's and the truck stops they have them but they're I'm cheap they're a bit more expensive they can be anywhere from 10 to 15 that's a lot of money for a three four minute shower I just took one last night four dollars for eight minutes at the laundromat floor and it's over on the coast that's the other place laundromats are have have them now so you do that and then in between you're out here in the middle of nowhere you have the Privacy to Suds up as much as you want and then stick your head in the bucket to wash your hair and number three is there a third one I will say I know nothing is perfect in its build or quality but I have found for me in this I have hardly had any issue so I've been very impressed with fit and finished yes just everything how they did it you know and it's a thing that's jarring and moving all over the place and other than me doing the jackknife and they had to replace my stereo that's not really them and you replace the Jack which you have to do on any trailer today because they give you just that's a standard RV industry yeah and to me it was not sturdy enough and I felt much more secure moving this with that and it did make it the dual wheels also to me made it I think it's the dual wheels that made it easier to turn it to yeah because it doesn't sink into yeah so yep all right okay this is the one three things that just get you three things that you wish were different on this all right the windows I love their flush and I want them to keep it flush but I wish they had a mechanism like they do with this that's on the Hydraulics I don't see why you couldn't do the Hydraulics inside here where the screen room is there's a space then you could still have the flat window and hydraulic it all the way open so you could get Breeze that cross Breeze because the cross Breeze I get with those two doors is amazing so it it would be out of this world to have it with the windows too I could see you're struggling yeah it's hard to find three things that yeah and it isn't that I don't like it and they have changed it that TV size is ridiculous but they have made it a little smaller but you know it's not anything you can't just take it down if you really hate it yeah exactly so that's that's two that's two yeah but we're gonna have to really work for this third one how about the price how did you feel about the price of what you paid well what I paid but I bought it pre-coveted what they are now I think they're too much but that's because I paid 13.5 and I was okay with that for everything that came um although 13.5 it should have had a lithium battery let's throw that in there how about that um but now I think their base is 20 to 21 and just like all other RVs I think that's a little steep for yeah but that but it's the market so when you're looking at like you and you're living in this full time it has more value at that point oh gosh yeah and you know I got a living room for 200 yeah which we talk about to everyone get yourself a clam tent oh you have to at the Wind and Rain panels because you could I've been in there in pouring rain with the panels up and other than my dog being nervous about the thunder we were fine any words of advice anything you'd tell anybody getting into this lifestyle I will say one thing uh everything that you do at home is so much easier in a stick belt home is so much easier and faster so plan on but that's the lifestyle too relax has it helped you slow down oh yes if you anyone who knows me would tell you I was anal planned everything down to the earth I just am out here freewheeling it and it actually feels really good if you can take a second and thank Sheila for sharing her story with the community I would greatly appreciate it and for those of
