So The Truth Finally Comes Out...Kylo Ren Adam Driver

going to be smaller in the logo which I like looks nicer and the thread is actually brighter it's more luminous we could say and it's more reflective almost and it's just it's got a better Sheen to it I don't know if you can you can see on screen there but anyways all the hats have now been updated so if you get a new hat you got the old one the OG G one dope bigger logo maybe not as colorful this one is a little smaller more Sleek colorful packs of punch anyways so Adam Driver has a new interview on the Rich Eisen show and this video might get taken down I don't know if they're going to copyright it or what but you know falls under fair use because I'm giving my commentary on it so he's gone on this interview and he's asked about kylo Ren and he actually starts to open up about how kylo Ren's character was originally going to be entirely different than what we got which I think the version We were supposed to get was much more compelling and much more interesting so let's go ahead and listen to what he has to say and again this might get copyrighted and deleted but at least I can make a clip out of it eventually but we'll see so yeah um it's somewhere after this Mark here 17 minutes or so no did you know that at least you're you're you're playing Vader 2.0 like at least did you know that as conceptually I yeah yeah and I had an overall Arc that a little before that comes like after the 15minute Mark so let's go around here so many things of Star Wars are totally fault no no it was it was literally a thing of scheduling we we met and we were he he wanted to talk he talking about him and Mark Hamill not having met because it was a scheduling conflict essentially but there was a question where he actually goes into detail of what that would be crazy okay so I'm glad we're clearing that up yeah yeah what else you want to clear up else yeah maybe maybe well here's another one uh true or false you took home your costume and lightsaber from the Last Jedi when you filmed when you finished filming true that's true I have all that is that next to the a myself to think about it it was when we're shooting girls okay no so yeah he right here he's asked about if he was saying if he had an immediate yes when he got proposed the role of kylo Ren he said no I wanted to think about it it was when we're shooting girls and I was a fan of the I was a fan of Star Wars and I didn't want it to be bad okay and and there was no script to read that was that was part of the gig you you you could get the part but then the uh after you agreed to do everything then they put you in a tiny room and and allowed you to read the script for the first time what do you mean what are you talking about like like it's tough extreme top secret kind of stuff like you know cuz of all the script leaks and stuff that happened but I mean if you literally have the actors going into the room checking the script out supervised in like some top secret room with security and they don't get to take the script home I mean kind of makes me wonder how did they even practice the like rehearse the script I think John boa left his script somewhere once like under a bed or something like that and it was the the cleaning lady found it or or was it for rogue one or something I just remember hearing a rumor about this top secret is what you're saying oh yeah yeah yeah yeah JJ walked me through what he wanted to do with the character but you had so here it is this is a completely different kylo Ren we never were supposed to get Ben solo to sign up and be like okay yeah I'm going to do it and then once you once I did that you know I went to London to start for pre-production there was like there's a tiny room down the hall you can go in there and read the script and uh so I was reading it for the first time is that wild is like even before you do pre-production you don't you still don't know what the script is you still have no idea what your character is you have no idea what your lines are they top secret stuff I guess had to leave it there yeah then you had to leave it there yeah that was the first one it's like top secret oh yeah oh yeah it was massive massive we had special uh stuff and everything but did you special stuff it's probably like security guards and stuff like they probably have to like do fingerprints and all this so it's to make sure it's them no did you know that at least you're you're you're playing Vader 2.0 like at least did you know that as conceptual I did yeah yeah and I had a Vader 25 really overall Arc that in mind that he wanted to do which you know then changed but his idea was that and why did it change chat why did it change you guessed it m Johnson almost the opposite and it it makes me upset because it's like if JJ had just directed and written all three films I truly believe that the sequel Trilogy would have been so much better whoever Kathleen decided to put Ryan in there the reason he she decided to put Ryan Johnson in there and this is from an interview that Mark Fernandez that I did rule of two with one of my best buddies had with Ryan Johnson himself or ours the way Ryan got the job listen to this you haven't heard me talk about it before Ryan went into Lucas film to pitch an idea for an original Star Wars project and Kathleen said oh why don't you just do the next film he's like what episode 8 the sequel Tre like yeah that'd be a fantastic idea why don't you just go handle that she gave him full creative control he just did the whole thing just like that he didn't even he didn't even want the job he was just like oh sure yeah that'd be great the guy wanted to do his own Star Wars thing which is what he's been trying to do which I don't think will ever happen anymore journey of Vader where Vader starts the most confident the most uh you know committed to the dark side and by you know the um the last movie he's he's the most vulnerable and weak and he wanted to start at the opposite right so he's not talking about Anakin he's talking about Vader so he says the story of kylo Ren was going completely opposite from Vader Vader after Revenge of the Sith was extrem extremely engulfed in the dark side extremely powerful true to his resolve hated the Jedi all about darkness and then as time went on once he met Luke that's when thing started to break for him because he started to realize oh my God there's this connection to Anakin Skywalker that's the my only connection to Padme and then the nightmare started to start again it was just you know figuratively speaking and then he started to break down and we see that through the transition of it all and then getting into Return of the Jedi where Vader is like it is too late for me my son right so it's like you see this massive transformation of Vader from boy who has dreams to Jedi that is completely lost and dark and wants more wants to do good but is doing willing to do anything to get there and then becomes the darkest guy in the Galaxy after Palpatine Darth Vader and then starts to lose his way with that too and falls back to the light and it was always always interesting with him is because he was so drawn to the darkness but he wanted to be good whereas kylo Ren was drawn to the good side but he wanted to be bad it's that bit of Duality there like a poetry that where this character was the most confused and vulnerable and by the end of the the three movies would be most committed to the dark side so that I tried to keep that Arc in mind regardless if that wound up not being the journey anyway because it changed I think that would have been so much better to be honest but let's listen to it again ardy he wanted to do which you know then changed but his his idea was that almost the opposite journey of Vader where Vader starts the most confident the most uh you know committed to the dark side and by you know the um the last movie he's he's the most vulnerable and weak and he wanted to start at the opposite where this character was the most confused and vulnerable and by the end of the the three movies would be most committed to the dark side so that I tried to keep that Arc in mind regardless if that would have been so much cooler I think that would have been way way more interesting than this Dilly dallying it seems like Disney likes to do a whole bunch of Dilly dallying with all of their characters and you know Iden versio Arc I think that was the first time that I was super excited for a Star Wars game with Disney with Battlefront 2 because I was like oh wow we're going to get a character that's really all in the dark side you know her dad is part of the Empire she's part of the Empire she's all about this she's super passionate about the Empire and then all of a sudden in the game she just switches sides after being lifelong Empire fan her whole life and her family it was ridiculous to me so it's like they constantly keep doing this like wishy-washy thing no have someone stick to it and follow it through not everybody has to be good you know villains are extremely compelling characters that wound up not being the journey anyway because it changed obviously as we shooting yeah right right but I was still kind of focused on that when did it change uh well with with Ryan he took it into a different direction but still it kind of still tracked with the character than the last one they it changed okay into being you know about them and the diad and and things like that and then again so so again no concise consistent plan whatsoever and I'm not saying this to on it I'm saying it because we need to really understand that these guys had no plan I think Adam Driver is one of the most talented actors of our time I really do if you've watched any of his movies the guy is extremely gifted and what they did with his character I think you know they could have done so much more so forgive me if it sounds like hating but it's it's really me just wishing we got great Star Wars you know something that had a linear plan 7 89 I guess it's backwards for you seven8 is it whatever so and Ryan coming in there and just changing everything you know so with the force awakens script JJ had the idea that Luke you know when Ray found Luke he was supposed to be meditating and these massive Boulders and you can find the concept art and I'll have it pop up on the screen here massive Boulders rocks revolving rotating moving he's just sitting there meditating Ryan calls up JJ before JJ releases the force awake and says hey I saw that you have this concept artah you have this at the end of the film I need you to do me a solid and take that out I also need you to not put R2-D2 on the falcon or something like that cuz he didn't want Luke to have Force Powers he wanted Luke to be celibate he wanted to have Luke cut off from the force for years which to me was the most stupid thing you could ever do to this character who has been training as a Jedi Master for the last 30 years you know after talking to mer I could honestly make an 8 hour long video about everything wrong with The Last Jedi from my point of view and I think by the end of it so many people would understand where I'm coming from that it would actually make a lot of sense but I just I don't know I don't really want to go into detail on that but hey who knows maybe I'll have maybe I'll have the energy to do that in like eight 1 hour long intervals and then edit them all together let's continue so you and and kind of evolving into Ben Ben solo that was never part of it that wasn't either no no no no cuz well Ben solo he was Ben solo from the beginning but it wasn't it was never a version where we actually see Ben solo when when I first signed up for it well I mean again so you're even this guy's frustrated Rich Eisen even he's frustrated it's like I can't even get I don't not I can't even get mad anymore man it's just it's it's honestly just looks bad on Disney just make fun of him at this point it's like dude you guys what are you doing what did you do what did you do dude I'm so dumbfounded man I I like I just I don't know it's just how do fans how do kids get this stuff but you know boardroom Executives that are handling billion dollars worth of companies and IPS just don't I would love to be in a boardroom meeting with them be like what happened how do you have one person write you know an outline for seven which I honestly believe that JJ would have probably had a really good episode 8 or at least something that was better than what we got cuz he set it up and then nine would have at least followed through with the last two and we would have had a conclusion something that would have at least made sense not you know a picture of a a horse's butt and then a chicken's torso and then a frog's head literally like an abomination of what they did with snoke he was an Abomination he was sliced jeans put together in a lab the whole Ben solo thing I mean we didn't need to see that yeah sure it was cool but that's cuz what we got but there were so many inconsistencies with the three films because we just had different writers and directors and guys that were kind of just you know measuring their lightsabers the whole time pretty much right eight outdoing seven and then nine outdoing eight and just completely retconning each other I don't understand it doesn't make any sense I think kylo Ren thrusting himself further and further into the dark side is kind of shows his progression and it's cool because it's like with Vader at least he was you know Vader and then he like lightened up no pun intended literally lightened up I still think that Ray should have been the bad one I think that she should have fallen to the dark side and I think that would have probably been the most interesting but above all you would have had to have had Finn to be a Jedi to be a for Seer someone that probably trained with Luke maybe even with other Jedi somewhere else in the Galaxy there were other Jedi there were other Jedi temples and other parts of the Galaxy and then have him mind wiped by the first order and then have him come too like he did on on the planet when lur Santa died and kylo killed him and then he doesn't really remember who he is or anything like that and he's FN 2187 but then he starts to come to eventually and then Luke finds him with Ry he's at at the end there and uh he doesn't even know who Luke is but Luke's like oh my God you're alive and we end the film you know that I think would have been probably more interesting same with the KY the whole diad thing oh my gosh what was that that was so stupid and then they started to write in this book that Vader and Anakin were like a diad no enough with the diads stop pulling diads out of your bum diads are stupid okay get them out of here you want to do a Chosen One prophecy okay fine we've already done that we don't need to do it again diad what's so when these two people fuse it's like go tanks they like come together and it's like what Vegito no this is Star Wars this doesn't make any sense wa and then paltin sucked their energy so he was like super powerful but then dies the same way that he almost died against ma Wu no dude come on you're a Star Wars guy just like you know most everyone in the human race right so what was it like for you Adam Driver when Harrison Ford's on the set and you know all right so the rest is about Harrison Ford if you want to see the full interview you can go to it it seems like more information comes out about the sequel Trilogy and it's just like the the less and less people can really defend this thing how how can you def If you defend the sequel Tru it doesn't mean that you're wrong it means that Disney messed up it means that Disney didn't put the proper time and Care into it so let go of that has nothing to do with you personally if you're a huge sequel fan but you can see like hey if you liked it cool but if you you can see that like this wasn't really thought out very well there were things that were constantly changing which is fine but it wasn't changing organically it was changing by force because Ryan stepped in and wanted JJ to change a whole bunch of crap and then wrote his own version it's like you have JJ going this way and then Ryan went this way he didn't even go that way he just went completely the other way going completely the other way and then JJ tries to like hook down or take it back with nine it's just I don't know dude it it's uh it's unfortunate but I truly think that kylo Ren going further into the dark side would have been so much cooler so much better than what we got and if he would have done that then you know there would have had to have been a bigger bad which would have been snoke I don't think snoke was supposed to die I think K I think Ry Ryo Johnson uh Ryan Johnson just killed them off for no reason just to be like hey here you go you deal with it now like dude why didn't you guys communicate ever why didn't you guys have like a proper out line in theme and idea and I really have zero respect for Ryan's film making when it comes to Star Wars as a person I don't know him but I can kind of Judge the fact that like he really didn't give a at all and knowing that there's so many fans and he kind of just wanted to create a movie that was so divisive that it would be talked about forever and it still is right but not in a good way it's not good publicity you have people that genuinely really dislike what you did to the franchise that's not good karma man that's not a good feeling I don't know but hey you know he's making few hundred million dollar deals making his new movie so I I don't think gives a right so um he wanted to create a movie that he found to be very compelling and amazing uh I just don't think that he really understood that this is the middle part of the end of a saga of a nine-part Trilogy and you needed to take better care and kind of communicate more with JJ and I don't think there really was much of that right so and that that all falls on Kathleen Kennedy it all falls falls on Bob Iger Chek or whoever the heck falls on Disney at the end of the day you know and I'm hoping now with Dave filon being as high up as he is we can now have some proper oversight going forwards with Star Wars because I really want it to get back to where it was man like I I truly believe that it can it just takes the Right Moves and we can't have boneheads running the show running the stories and things like that we have to really move with caution we have to move with respect with George in mind and with all of the stories and characters that we grew up with and if you have you know three films you want to make you have to have a very constructive well-planned thought out script story you know you can't be hiring this random guy to come in there in the middle and just change CH everything no he's got to have a he's got to be guided right with no guidance it's just hey here here take the take Dad's keys and just take the Ferrari have fun comes back all busted up 50,000 miles on the freaking odometer dude where you been oh you just said go okay JJ got to come in and trying to clean up the mess but he didn't really he just kind of took
