[Music] welcome back to where's wisan Matt here and today doing a little gear review on our Slumberjack Roadhouse tarp we've had this for a couple years now absolutely love it mainly to its durability versatility and just the massive coverage area that it has we mainly use it for a teardrop camper however there's a zillion ways you can set this up and uh we've used it in all different weather conditions including some pretty windy nights as well this isn't the typical awning you'd see for a teardrop or a camper or even a truck camper but we just love how versatile it really is and how we can set it up a multitude of different ways and we don't necessarily need the camper to set it up we can uh set it up with a few trees or set it up behind the Jeep so that's one reason we haven't uh mounted a permanent awning yet maybe you guys can let us know in the comments if we're wrong or if there's an awning we should try those 270 awnings look pretty sweet but uh we also like how lightweight this is we don't like to add too much weight to our trailer cuz we have the two-o Jeep it comes packaged in its own carry bag Two Poles eight steel Stakes a bunch of guidelines that are high quality and reflective and a 68d polyester tarp which is very durable we've actually had poles just holding it up in the middle no issues there and the grommets are really strong as well like I said there's a variety of ways you can set this up and I think we found just adding a couple extra poles to have in your uh back pocket make it even more versatile oh my God that's amazing loving that now uh we shouldn't have any issues with water collecting on the canopy just adding one pole is a game changer in this situation where we have snow or rain we typically use one pole and use the A-frame setup that way everything just Cascades down the side you don't have anything collecting except for on top of the trailer but I think having this right here is actually going to help keep water from collecting over the Galley Hatch as well the two poles that come with this are super heavy steel poles I don't think they're ever going to break another thing that makes this canopy unique is their wheel straps these give you so much flexibility one to connect them to the rear tires of a car or the tires on your trailer but you can also hook these around trees I it's kind of Limitless what you can do with this nice long straps very durable nylon one thing that's great about Slumber jack is all their gear has a lifetime warranty for the original owner of course maybe not your lifetime but the expected lifetime of the product as I said we've had this a couple years zero issues no tears waterproofing is held up I don't see how this thing could leak but uh very high quality product when compared to other mounted awnings in the industry there is no doubt a lot more setup involved with this tarp if you're full-time on the road it may not make sense however we are okay sacrificing an extra 5 to 10 minutes to get the exact layout we like someday though setting up an awning in 3 seconds sounds pretty amazing as camut claims with their crosswing awning yeah let's uh get this puppy set up the rain's starting we're on a quick weekend trip out here in the Northwest and uh just going to keep us dry tonight for the galley setup we pull the end over the trailer and attach the wheel and roof rack straps accordingly and tighten them down we then open our Galley Hatch which can be a little cranky this time of year we then set up our first pole with two stakes straight back and straight off the side at a 90° angle once this pole is in it's pretty easy from here one tip that we love is to stake down the sides with bungee cords it makes it quick and provides a little give in case the wind picks up if we are in rain or snow then we throw up our Center Pole and then one last check and tighten down and we're ready to relax in bad weather we typically want coverage in the morning so at night we just put the tarp down into what we call mullet mode I think you can see why all we do is shut the galley and lay down the poles it's that easy if you're looking for a quality low priced awning we hope this video helped thank you for watching and make sure to subscribe for more Gary rev viws and to join us on our next camping or travel [Music] Adventure
