let's give you [Music] hey you all carpetbagger here coming to you live from the north more specifically the little hamlet of Sleepy Hollow New York home of the Headless Horseman of course this is it's this town inspired Washington Irving to write the story of the Headless Horseman which is the detail of a schoolmaster by name Ichabod Crane who travels to Sleepy Hollow only to be chased down and murdered by the legendary historic figure the Headless Horseman there's also a film directed lubos directed by Tim Burton the Sleepy Hollow where the swellest horseman was actually a demon controlled by a witch that comes out of a tree the different versions of the story but the town of Sleepy Hollow embraces the Headless Horseman much like Point Pleasant West Virginia embraces their monster the Mothman and here we have a massive monument to the Headless Horseman could see in this 3d sculpture gets the Ichabod Crane over there running as the Headless Horseman hoists is Jack O'Lantern the flaming jack-o'-lantern that he uses instead of a head poor poor Ichabod Crane that's not the only monument to the Headless Horseman here it's Sleepy Hollow this carving was dedicated 1974 as you can see it Chabad crane they're running from the Headless Horseman who's about to throw his jack-o'-lantern on him and end his life forever there's a little church up there on the hill given this gas station here pays homage to the Headless Horseman you can see him the horse very creepily turning his head from side to side and it's written by the headless rider here the headless horseman greets us Sleepy Hollow [Music] have some headless horseman themed March for sale [Music] and here we have the Headless Horseman bridge that's amazing that it's actually called that but this was described by Washington Irving in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow so this is actually the bridge that the Headless Horseman murdered Ichabod Crane on well not actually the same bridge this is a replacement to the bridge that the Headless Horseman used to murder Ichabod Crane they recreated it so we can all enjoy the murder scene here's the old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow here at this massive Cemetery there's a lot of people in this cemetery kind of just camping out on top of the dead bodies and all the old Dutch cemeteries I guess there's some old clogs you can see some headless horseman clogs right there I'm not sure what's up with these giant clogs don't quite fit [Music] a little hot dog cookout going on there's a beer tent let's say the first time I've seen just groups of people walking around a cemetery drinking drinking beers there are some truly beautiful graves here in this cemetery check out that the artistry goes into that says the grave of Reverend Tillis Smith I just found interesting that the grave gets top billing here is the grave of Reverend Hill Smith I don't think I've ever seen such a massive graveyard party in my entire life right now this here is locally known as the grave of the Headless Horseman this is a Abraham Martling who went by the name of Brom bones and in the novel he was Ichabod cranes rival and he may or may not have been the Headless Horseman in disguise you see here on the grave said he died after a slow and painful illness which does not sound Pleasant and here's the oldest grave in the cemetery Elizabeth duyan 1755 to 1755 though it was a baby but I guess she was the first to be buried here oh look who showed up the Headless Horseman fight through the crowd to see the headless horseman mister horseman please where's it going oops watch it there guess you didn't see that cuz he doesn't have a head oh my god I definitely feel like the horseman paparazzi right now all those kids having their picture taken with the headless horseman look at em and all his headless glory standing there with his horse the horse does have a head that is a popular misconception Oh [Music] parting the sea of humanity to all the people want to have their selfies made with the headless horseman see he can't tell you to you know get out of his way or not pet his horse because he has no head and therefore no mouth Oh headless horseman loves children [Music] okay there hey horse hey that's a nice evil horse here's the grave of the man that started all this russian irving the author of Sleepy Hollow and see his grave right there being illuminated by the sunlight I do have to wonder what incident led to this Minnie Mouse stroller being relegated to the trash it's very interesting here this mausoleum car with ivy but if you look at the door to the mausoleum you can see an hourglass engraved that's pretty pretty amazing likewise this mausoleum here if you look closely has an anchor engraved on the on the door so no food or beverage beyond this point you have to finish your beer before you leave the cemetery and for all you headless dogs men out there clean up your turds dog waste transmits diseases and this is amazing even the police here in Sleepy Hollow their emblem has the Headless Horseman on it all right here we have the Hudson River and we're actually standing right in front of Sunnyside this is Washington Irving's home or later tonight they'll be having a Sleepy Hollow play known as the Sleepy Hollow experience we have these cutout photo ops here you could be Ichabod Crane running from the Headless Horseman of course you can't stick your head and where the headless Horseman's had to because he has no head that would be ludicrous but you can be his jack-o'-lantern or if you're feeling lazy you can be Rip Van Winkle one of Washington Irving's other famous stories all right as soon as the Sun starts setting we will be experiencing the Sleepy Hollow experience so Sleepy Hollow experience will take place here at Sunnyside Washington Irving's home it is a moving production that the audience actually moves around the property as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow unfolds I'm really excited about this this should be really fun there we have Washington Irving writing hello sir writing his stories before the show [Music] we're in something [Music] it's not far from this city carried off by a cannonball top ten Knightly quest of his missing a head he cannot find it he takes the head of the first unfortunate soul to cross his path bury a man has been found Shawn at the neck you walked right but but would you give this a sniff okay okay now if you can't get ingredients tell me if you smell like emotionally where does this take you okay this is supposed to smell like Sleepy ha well that's up to you I've only been at City Hollow one day so okay any any notes you're picking up there any nuances overtones undertones because there is a difference I don't know is there is there a honey honey smell there's definitely I definitely pick up on a sweetness you know what I think you're getting a bit of like caramel hot caramel apple cider I care what oh yeah all right like Starbucks Apple the writer what about like a pump like a cider Dona it smoking maybe a little a little bit it smelled every time you say something it smells different it's like you're suggesting to me and there you're getting into my head but most importantly one last question if I can ask yet emotionally nostalgically when you smell this this is take you back to like child is bringing back to Halloween as a fall definitely a Halloween time a cold crunchy time crunchy as in when she leaves leaves freshly fallen fully actually fallen to the floor up there we go well I take it thank you so
