[Music] why another long trek from all the way across the country this is a Subaru but not like any Subaru I've ever seen he took all the bad parts of a Subaru out of this I'm gonna get flame for saying that but what's up boss how's it going tell me what you got going on here man I have a 2012 WRX with an r34 GTR drivetrain swap see I told you r34 drivetrain swap that's amazing and visually I mean it's beautiful from the outside you have so much going on is almost everything carbon mainly just what you see here is carbon everything else is just regular paint starting from the hood front bumper and the over is what do you got going on so the front bumper is a verus bumper got the carbon hood and the carbon fenders with the flares I really like that and then what's what's the paint from that's a custom color it's actually a mix between a Subaru base and a Cadillac mid coat oh really I wanted to go with a little bit of gold and the white pearl yeah it looks really good these are pretty cool too like the little hood pins and then obviously got some really wide wheels on here yep those are 18 by 12 18 by 12 up front are they square set up square shadow so both 18 by 12 this is a 315 in the front our triple eight that's impressive do you have steering issues with that it can be a pain it's worth it they grip like they should so it's it creates quite a big look for it there's the stance of how wide everything really is this is a test of the emergency advertisement system hey Harry Finnegan we like to be transparent when we get paid for an advertisement like this Cove speaker we also like to be transparent about where the money is going because we're gonna put the money into this so support our advertisers like Cove and Karl get a new engine that great for activities rights actually great for working out cool scrip close-grip jacket around riding my bike barbecues skateboarding you know I like this thing because it plays the classics and it's easy to connect powerful xbase subwoofer delivers superior sound connection smartphones tablets and computers eight hours on a single charge get 65% off code speakers using the code 965 pretty simple to remember even though I can't the track worth is just insane how much wider is it than the factory front I believe it's about four to five inches wider well in total awesome so I see just a little thing snuck in as well you have little rain guards carbon-fibre turns virus as well yep that's really cool so this took a lot of time to piece together of what you wanted just something very true I bought the car brand new in 2012 as a daily driver turned into this years of constant work of just evolving it to what it is now yeah and with picking out the body panels and stuff this is something that you just sat back and looked at and then oh I like this piece in that piece you said your yeah well casing different kits together the flares themselves I think at the time there was only one company making the flares for this car so the flares were from them but otherwise bumper hood and it's a Dodge Viper defuser oh really yep so since there's no rear exhaust I had to fill in the gap somehow so uh wait wait your Viper I'm not sure to be honest that's pretty cool though just so Robin parts from another car that's a pretty good fit too well guess you don't see that every day some Viper parts die line powered Subaru exactly the width of the wheels I notice from the back how wide that is kind of hard to see without the shadows they're pretty awesome and the brakes are there are undo setup they're kind of like a sister company to Varys it's a neat pop front six pot rear it's a good look to the car so you wanted to keep the carbon look as well just to create something different there yeah before the motor swap I had the same carbon set up for hood and fender and I just kind of wanted to stick with it and I very rarely have the hood on the car but where the carbon hood it actually makes the car flow very well yeah it looks really nice everything fits really well too so that's always good to see let's talk about the incense our six point cage it's a Bolton yeah that's a Bolton it looks like everything sleeved it's kind of cool where does that come from that was an auto power cage I don't know a little bit of customization because the actually the front seats were pushed back out four to six inches center console was extended steering column was extended Takata seats Takata harnesses leather seats reclinable - you're like the street look to it as well just to even kept the back seats and the stitching really cool yep I wanted to actually keep the car kind of looking as factory as possible yeah of course with the different accents of the diamond stitching and whatnot but I wanted most people to look in there and say oh that must have been an easy swap yea of course there's a lot more entailed than most people yeah so when you get in you actually look at it there's a lot going on the carbon trim pretty cool - you got going on there yep that's a name MXG - full color display it's really sleek it's more like an iPad than anything and it's speaking of get a little iPad Mini in there that's really cool so is that just for stuff to watch were using that as a display for I was gonna set it up for some like diagnostic stuff I can run everything off the dash now yeah so there's not really much sense in the iPad so you're watching youtube pastime yeah and then you got a different pedal setup going on here yeah that's a floor mountain pedal setup I had to do that because the only firewall okay so the firewall had to be changed they have completely cut firewall and trans tunnel everything was notched and patched to house the motor entrace the gauges are nice as well is all this custom made or is this ordered out the carbon fiber trim pretty much all the carbon fiber trim was custom made by a friend of mine a carbon fiber element he he's on that the defenders a lot of interior stuff so it flows pretty well on the interior looks really outside are the seats carbon as well you have their carbon backs from Takata that is and even some of the trimmer inside the door there's a rear doors open yep well so you have the whole door car described well door korzos actually came from Poland so there's a company and pullin that makes the rear carbon covers that's insane on the seats you just get that leather diamond stitch it's really cool yeah but there's a factory back seat research to to match the front seats it looks really good so I guess these seats came from Takata but were they wrapped somewhere else oh yeah exact art in Philadelphia did the rear seats headliner all the Alcantara on the pillars and stuff a lot of the small trim pieces like to got you like the armrest yeah and that's I mean even the detail of that you know I didn't even notice at first but having that match with the seats and everything on it's incredibly detailed even down to the stitching and the steering wheel you know so that's pretty cool and carving on it so you kept that theme throughout the entire day exactly do you have anything going on in the trunk yep trunk houses the dry sump as well as oh wow fuel fill filters or my pumps in there the pumps are all in here I can pull it back alright how's everything that's really cool up at the pump super slick and then that's just a battery box beside it so the fill is back here then yep that's cool and some reservoirs for center diff and power steering oh because you have a center diff now if that's gonna work with all the skyline drivetrain so is it primarily all-wheel drive or do you buy primarily driving all-wheel drive that I can actually change a setting to go for rear-wheel drive that's that's one of the advantages of the skyline setup then you can get the back end listen have fun that's really cool that's one of the things that would just change the whole dynamic of the car see you got some little magazine goodies in there with another carbon fiber plate that's really cool alright let's get down to business now I want to see what's going on whoa man that is pretty man it's a tight fit isn't it yes where do you start on something like this there's basically to get the motor to fit had to get front axles to line up with the hubs once they got the front diff lined up good then I was kind of build a firewall around the motor yeah the trans that that looks wild to me like that sitting back pretty far I mean as far as the stock Subaru engine it would sit maybe here that would actually sense the actual summer this extended that's extended a tiny bit okay the Subaru trans the actual has come out of the trans themselves yeah so the motor actually sits in front of the hubs yeah but as you know there's just a small portion owner boxer motor yeah it was an inline six being back further it actually helps with the weight distribution a lot especially with the heavy trains how did the weight distribution work out in this car do you know I haven't actually measured it or weighted yet but I would assume that it's it's pretty well 50/50 especially with fuel tank or fuel cell mounted dry-sump battery box everything in the back now yeah for sure man this is just stunning to look at it's also smooth and what a tight fit that is even down there being notched in there yeah this was a an intake manifold from custom plenum creations we just got that in that all about carbon yeah that's all that's a carbon tank full billet runners and stuff so yep titanium welding yeah it's really good work anything like this last cuts out the roof yep so twin wastegates yep Davis Mart that's a big turbo that's an ef-4 91-74 it's actually not quite big enough for the head and camp set up I have to go a little bit bigger on the turbo now some has flown too much air aside from this fitting in here about the actual engine itself isn't just your normal GTR engine yep just recently I went to 2.8 stroked Porton polished head with 292 cams so it purrs purrs pretty good news yeah I could hear Rumble when we pulled in everybody came running out to greet you what size injectors are you running in with this now those are our D mm okay and are you running e85 yep pure e85 I don't care what the the hood dumps 93 just spits out too much carbon so the 85 works out pretty well right man and so the dry sump is really cool to look at how much oil system do you have now the tank itself in the back is about three gallons and I would estimate maybe four gallons total so does it keep pretty cool then the tank does get a little warm but it actually it holds its temp pretty well as far as we know this is built engine how much power you make it the last time I was on a dyno did right around 772 the all wheels and that's gonna be pretty modest for you cuz he said this terrible is kind of not big enough yeah well I started losing boost about six thousand nine thousand boosters tapering off and horsepower numbers stayed steady well I started losing boost what does this read to right now it's at uh I think 9,000 9,000 Wow that's getting the sport bike there no it has to sound wild now explain some of the differential stuff that we have going on here because you're just saying you you took everything from how does this work with the actual subframes itself like how do you mate this together so fast in Westchester the shop that I work with they help fabricate front subframe trans mount and rear diff mount to house this motor use the same subaru bolt locations yeah but just complete new subframe to get this to fit so that's something we got to see underneath yep we're gonna have to put this on the lift take a look at that [Music] this is what I'm excited about this is what yeah right he's gonna have to crouch down because I'm awkwardly short and this is as high as our lifts cuz this is what I want to know how did it all this work out how did you get this monstrosity of a skyline driveline which is kind of fun to say actually yeah well puns front subframe that's what get some magic done as you can see here oil pan was chopped one of the reasons you go drive so I'm clear steering rack so the dry sump freed up a lot of room yeah because that was actually the main reason for the dry sump was for that steering rack clearance and the steering rack is from the skyline that's a true burr steer with the Subaru ok so what all is still Subaru in this guy basically suspension steering and body so you have this subframe fill to house the engine and drive line of the skyline but you kept all the factory points from the serial correct that's really cool what's this pension do you have on here silver Zen a coil over just they just released some new two-way coil overs that I got hooked up with it looked really nice external dampening yeah two ways actually function very well we designed them for the heavier motor fits and handles really great now so and then this is all custom fitted for the dry sump itself yep that's all the dry sump lines the two big lines that run to the back of the car to the tank in the trunk okay yeah this is one of the other tough parts here getting a front drive shaft Boxton good for clearance Wow so did this have to get pretty well cut up into the tunnel for that everything was cut out in the center and then everything was pretty much built around center diff and front drive fares what clutch is running in this now this is an 80s triple carbon so is it pretty streetable it's actually very suitable it actually is very comfortable it's surprisingly comfortable for a triple disc it's great as a power grade and it's very streetable i'd saw you pull it in and stuff just fine without drilling its own yeah definitely yeah it's great it seems really nice what arms are these Voodoo's 13 lower control arms everything else there is also based off of a Subaru suspension so this is all based off the serial yeah that's crazy to me that you taking all the skyline stuff cuz this is all this job training with me from a skyline except for all the Subarus suspension yep correct this is centered if pump here this is actually what allows me to go all-wheel-drive to full rear wheel drive yeah this is a really cool build and I'm thank you happy to see this you know and and that you drive it cuz aesthetically it looks like a show car yeah you know and that's what everybody to think about oh it's just the ship and it's not just to show cars to drivers cars to yeah and it's really cool that everything has worked out for you and put put really well together and it just it looks great it sounds great it's a really well thought out carried out built cut to cut to some dyno polls from this guy because it sounds amazing [Music] [Music] and then out the rear wheel drive burnout behind the shot yeah the cut to that too [Music] [Music] yep so thanks again man yep thank you I appreciate it it's a high five low five thing can I feel like a just a loser that I can't build anything that's cool
