[Music] hi my name is chris tom i am a voice over talent here in nashville and also have been an audio engineer for the last 20 years both live and in studio and uh the other day my friends over at shore reached out to me and they said hey we have a new mic that's coming out next week and we would love you to you know come grab it for a few days run it through its paces and you know just give us your thoughts and that mic is this guy right here this is the mv7 this is their podcast microphone um on the packaging here it says uh for podcasting home recording and streaming so obviously they're marketing this toward podcasters and twitch uh streamers and things like that um and plus other platforms i know people stream on more than just twitch these days um but yeah so this is the mic right here as you can see uh the form factor basically it looks very much like an sm7 which is a very popular mic as far as podcasters and streamers are concerned um uh the measurements are six inches long uh the barrel is about two and a half inches in diameter it's it's pretty cool mic um you know and the nice thing about this so the sm7b um is basically like i said it's pretty much the go-to mic a lot of people choose for podcasting and things like that uh which is a dynamic mic so is this um but the thing is about it is in order to have that you have to have some sort of external audio interface uh be it a focusrite or something like that because it's xlr so you have to have something that's going to translate from the xlr to your computer the nice thing about this is it's usb and xlr as you can see on the back here let me show you so you do have the option of going either way um you can either do uh xlr or you can just go do uh the usb which right now that's how you're listening to me right now i'm going out of the usb into my laptop uh recording into adobe audition and um when you go usb they have um some software called their motif software software um that uh you know basically lets you control the mic a little bit more you can do gain compression eq and things like that um later on in the video i'll get into that and kind of give you uh how that run how that sounds and works and stuff like that um one of the things i want to say straight away i am not being compensated by sure whatsoever for this i am not being paid by them they are just literally letting me borrow the mic and that's it so i'm gonna be as honest as i can i warned them i said hey i'm gonna be honest if it's crap i'm gonna say it's crap if it's great i'll say it's great but you know and they're like yeah it's all good no worries so there we go um so i did an unboxing video which i'll show you in a second uh kind of go through the process and then also too um unfortunately i wasn't able to get an sm7 from sure because they were out uh when i went by the office but i did borrow from a friend of mine who does podcasting in town uh he uh uses an evre 27 which i know is another popular uh podcasting mic so i borrowed that from him and uh later on in the video i did a shootout uh between this and the re so you can kind of get an idea as far as audio uh quality uh between the two of them stuff like that and then like i said and then finally we'll go through the uh the motif software that comes with this uh we'll show you the features uh listen to uh what the different things you can do because you have on uh you can do uh they have auto level mode which you're listening to right now basically it sets the level for you it's literally just plug and play i haven't touched this thing um but also too they have a manual mode whereas you can get into the gain you can do some eq stuff you can do um compression limiting also too that one of the features they have in the motif software and once again we'll get into that is right now you can see i'm pretty pretty on top of the mic right now and being a dynamic mic and so like i can get up on it and i can have you know really good uh you know um proximity effect i forgot the name for a second um but also too i can get off it a little bit and still have a good presence but then they have a feature in the software whereas you can choose your distance um so like uh they have a close which is up to six inches and then they have uh one a distance setting which is uh six to eighteen inches so we'll listen to both of those um and i wanted to set up here in my living room because i figured this is the place i'd be normally i'd be in my booth but this would be the place that a lot of podcasters might be in or they'll maybe streaming while they're doing their games they'll be in their living room you know watching their tv what have you um but you can hear i mean there's a lot i mean i'm in my my living room which is not sound treated i do have a carpet and my sofa here but there's not a lot of sound absorption and i when i listened earlier i didn't hear a lot of reflection coming through the mic when i was in the in the uh close proximity mode but we'll listen to that later on but um yeah so we're gonna run through the paces i hope this is beneficial if you like the video please say so leave a comment if you don't be quiet because no one wants to hear what you have to say uh that's it uh let's get let's do this thing see how she uh see how she runs okay so we are now at my craft desk we have the mv7 we're going to open this sucker up and uh see what we got um while i'm doing the the exciting unboxing part i will put up a screenshot of the back of the box to kind of give you an idea of the features and as you can see um it got the vice voice actually i voice isolation technology auto leveling uh it's basically streaming ready uh customizable sound signatures it does have headphone output which we will check out um and it's compatible with standard mic uh stands so that's kind of cool so here we are well welcome to better sound oh that's nicer alrighty so typical sleeve looks like we just kind of fold it up like this cool we have a quick start guide which we'll look at um so quick uh yeah quick start guide we'll look at uh usb touch panel shortcuts so we'll definitely take a look at that and here we are this is the mv7 sweet let's see here so um like i said the form factor pretty much see very similar to the sm7 let me grab my ruler here and we'll get some measurements so as we look at this um hopefully i can't really see it's really dark hanging on so i'm gonna pull this light over um so uh measurement wise it's about six inches in length that's six right here can you see that you can kind of um so six inches in length uh the barrel is about about three inches let me grab my caliper see if i can do it better than that uh actually not actually even less is like two and a half inches almost um you know as far as the uh the uh the diameter um yeah it's pretty cool um the let's see oh yeah it does so the my uh these wins sock does come off here's the basic element uh element shield right here i have a feeling we'll take this off and we'll play with this um see what's in there um but yeah there you go pretty cool pretty straight away so yeah so here we go so um xlr input usb input which we'll definitely play with and then the headphone out uh it's got a eighth inch uh headphone out which we'll also listen to at some point um here is the top of it uh so i guess this i'm guessing this is a mute right here um let me see if i can zoom in a little bit for you guys there you go oh this will be much better as soon as i get the camera to operate there it is there we go all right so here is a mute uh here this looks like your level input level and then monitoring i don't know it's got a headphone and a microphone uh thing so we'll check out what we'll see what that is um we'll put this back on for now but here's an easy way to find out um actually we'll look at the guides in a second but we'll pull out the rest right now um let's see so we got our cable pack as you would typically have let's see we got in here this is this is a usb a to a usb mini standard it looks like about a six footer on this so that's that's pretty that's pretty good length on that one uh we got that uh this guy will open up here i have a feeling this is our usbc yep i'm pretty sure let me grab my uh my knife again and yeah so this is um usbc to usb mini so you got that so that's pretty cool so that's that and a little tray here oh and then of course we have what do we got here um your basic something in arabic which i do not speak um let's see safety precautions blah blah blah information for user fcc compliance all that stuff okay and then of course your limited warranty card right in there too so that's pretty straight away so yeah let's um so let's take a look at these two um guys we got here as far as well let's first look at the quick start guide and let's see so basically let's pull it over here so mv7 quick start guide um first off connect it go figure um ns stated yeah so if you're going to use xlr standard go in the xlr in put it obviously go to your interface and then going straight to your computer and then um the one touch panel on the micro will not be activated when using xlr okay which makes perfect sense and then of course then they have the sim uh simply connect over here which is uva and the usb so obviously you're going usb directly to your laptop or computer whatever and then you have your headphone in so that's kind of cool um oh so oh here we go so using the usb you will need to download the shure motive app for ultimate control so we'll play with that obviously okay so here we go our touch panel so our touch panel it looks like okay so we have mute as we as i kind of anticipated so this is our mic input which i guess will adjust with the plus and minus and then a mic lock indicator so i guess you can lock it so you can't adjust it we'll find out and then toggle between mic oh okay so oh okay cool so this button here you'll switch between either your mic input or your headphone out um and obviously there'll be led to show you which one so using the same metering on that um oh cool so it's not necessarily a touch screen it's a slide screen so on this on the shortcuts so slide the green dots to get your mic gain up slide the orange dots if you're using headphone mode um and then tap between the two modes here uh tap uh tap to mute hold for two seconds to exit auto level mode and revert to manual mode so yeah so if you want to manually adjust your input level then you'll have to uh basically switch that then hold both to lock or okay so basically you can lock and unlock the touch panels by holding both the mute button and the selector button if the headphone icon is flashing please see the trouble selection because troubleshooting because you've done something wrong um okay so now we have uh here we go so this is the motive app interface which we are going to download shortly and play around with that so basically it seems like a lot of the things are same thing but you do have presets available you can do you mic muting within the app um monitoring and then it has some eq it looks like um eq presets so you have flat it looks like um see oh sorry so let's see if we can figure out so we got a flat it looks like it looks like you have a high pass uh probably around 60 or 100 or so uh we have a high mid bump i'm guessing probably about 4k which is usually where most voices uh kind of sit so they want to emphasize that and then we have a combo of a high pass and a high mid bump um you have a built in limiter and compressor which is cool and then auto level mode which we got really to figure out what that is um it's just auto gain basically um you have your presets again muted and then basically you choose what your mic positioning is if you are really close to the mic if you're far and then you have your different tones you can choose which is very cool uh monitor mix okay so uh mix between uh basically modern mix so you can hear yourself obviously through your headphones mic position okay so in the near setting is uh up to six inches away oops sorry i need to keep keeping an eye on that so i can see where i'm looking um so my position in the near setting if you're up to six inches away from the microphone far setting if you're six to 18 inches wow that's pretty good 18 inches i mean that's that's that's pretty pretty good distance that's that's about where my shotgun is right now in the near setting an auto level can prevent accidental clips and handle changes in level in the far setting auto level will give you more of a gain in lower noise than than manual allowing you to be further away from the microphone and better performance and much more consistent sound which is a great thing um we have our tones uh preset tones uh in dark tone it emphasized low end uh for that classic classic broadcast sound uh natural um natural to benefit the auto level mode by leaving your voice uh tone unaffected and then bright it brings clarity your voice uh mic input adjust your uh level uh recording level eq obviously we did the presets we'll look at those limiter apply uh apply to prevent clipping to your recordings or streams and then compressor keeps in your audio levels consistent by applying compression to suit your needs cool there you go basic quick start guide and then they get i like it they have like a little um little cheat card here and is this oh oh my oh wow this is cool it's like um it's got like a backing on it like a little double-sided tape back in so you could like stick it up on the wall or mud your monitor or what have you so it's kind of cool so it gives you a little shortcuts as to uh you know basically all the stuff that we talked about as far as like you know uh when you're in green mode you're doing the mic orange and your monitors blah blah all that stuff that we just looked at very cool that's fun i like it i like i like the little uh quick start it reminds me of uh you know sometimes you'll get a little uh quick start guide in certain games and things like that cool all right so that's it um yeah the i will say the mic feels very solid i like the fact that it's got the u oak uh uh the u-yoke i should say um so it's very much like um you know like the the sm7 would be standard mic um adapter so you can put it on top of my stand obviously if you're in europe you need to have the euro adapter um but yeah it's pretty cool pretty cool like i said it's it's beefy feeling mike it doesn't feel doesn't feel plastic at all feels kind of really nice um actually hang on for two seconds i'm gonna i'm gonna uh let's go let's get let's get a weight on this thing hang on for two seconds okay so we're back here i got my little kitchen scale and see we'll do tear and right now it's in grams so this mic is about 552 grams which let's find out what different uh measurements that would be so it's about a pound and a quarter let's see uh 19 19.5 ounces excuse me yeah like i said 1.21 pounds so yeah just just over a pound you know just under a pound and a quarter which is pretty good and like you know it should easily fit if you have a you know like a a table boom like a lot of folks do yeah it'll fit really nicely on that so very cool i like it very slick looking we'll plug it up here in a couple minutes and see what we got okay i couldn't fight the temptation so um first off it looks like this cap here just basically screws off and you can just like see the element from here pretty standard element curious how this compares to the um the sm7 element and then also two then i pop this guy here um yeah so basically you have your ad converters whoops where are we going that way and then left there you go so um you know your 80 converters uh you can see direct on the bottom there you can kind of let me see let's even get a little better light in here give me two seconds i don't know how that would work there we go so yeah you can see uh your xlr connector on the in right in there you can see um your uh you might kind of see oh yeah there you go right there uh on the upper right uh you can see your usb connector which is soldered right to the board and on the other side will be where your headphone is so there you go so i thought i would go ahead and plug this up to my laptop real quick just see how it uh how the all the lights and interaction work so stand by there we go cool all right so we've got a little turning on sequence okay here we go so um yeah so like i said in the touch so this will be the mute over here your mic is and is not muted and uh these that's pretty cool so basically just kind of slide along like if you're bringing it up and down stuff that's pretty cool and then uh your different inputs so obviously we're in mike or i'm sorry headphone input now and so now we're orange and then we're in mic input again obviously and then i guess is like hold these for two seconds that would have said and now we're locked there you go and i can't adjust it oh no oh that's cool so when you try to adjust it if it's locked it says hey stop it dummy very cool all right just wanted to show that real quick all right let's uh let's go make some noise okay so this is the eevee re27 uh this is a dynamic mic for those of you who don't know and this is also the little brother of the eevee re20 which has been basically a pretty much a staple of radio stations forever i know uh years ago when i interned at radio um you know basically this was the mic we had in studio so it's been here forever great sounding mic very full to the voice and you know um but because it is a dynamic mic you have to crank up the input just like i'll show you on the on even on the mv7 we had to do that but uh yeah so what i've done is uh as you can see i set the two mics uh next to each other and basically i'm recording both mics at the exact same time um i'm going into my universal audio uh apollo twin tracking both mics simultaneously each on a different channel and um no processing whatsoever i'm not even using a preamp plug-in i'm just using the the raw processor and uh preamp of the interface itself just uh so we'll have a fair baseline so there you go let's see what we got oh and by the way i'm cold reading this so just ignore the mistakes and all that stuff so thanks fleet battles in particular obligate players to think unselfishly if you plunge headlong into a firefight savior foes are going to pound you into oblivion which costs your team morale points and brings the enemy closer to achieving one of their three stage goals teams in fleet battles must first win fighter superiority via a dogfight in the middle of the map then press on to destroy two small capital ships succeed there and players will be tasked with taking down a star destroyer or a mon calamari cruiser should the attackers lose too many fighters when fighting the capital ships they'll need to retreat to the defense and recapture the advantage before renewing the attack the format is exciting and rewards photon torpedoes are more effective against bigger targets and complementary gadgets like tactical shields and jammers can help defend your squadron variety in both ships and loadouts is critical to success okay so i just listened back to the same thing you just heard and um you probably picked up on this too it wasn't dramatic but the mv definitely was a little bit thinner sounding on the low end uh compared to the eevee mic um which makes sense because the eevee uh the 20 the 27 and the 20 i mean that's a dedicated instrument mike i mean that's really what they're designed for um i know for myself i've used an re20 on kick drum and bass guitar cabinets and things like that and it's been really great um whereas this one obviously since it's geared towards podcasters and streamers and things like that this is more of a dedicated vocal mic especially for speech um but even with that though um it sounded thin compared to like well even right now you know when we were recording earlier so i had an idea and i wanted to do another experiment so what i did is i pulled my laptop in with the mic and connected my usb to my laptop and then the xlr to my normal recording computer uh to basically record both of those at the same time which i found out you can do and primarily to see what a difference the the motif software uh is doing as far as the the character of the mic and stuff so um yeah we'll take a listen to that and uh yeah see see what how that sounds like so hang on fleet battles in particular obligate players to think unselfishly if you plunge headlong into a firefight savior foes are going to pound you into oblivion which costs your team morale points and brings the enemy closer to achieving one of their three stage goals teams in fleet battles must first win fighter superiority via a dogfight in the middle of the map then press on to destroy two small capital ships succeed there and players will be tasked with taking down a star destroyer or a mon calamari cruiser should the attackers lose too many fighters when fighting the capital ships they'll need to retreat to the defensive and recapture the advantage before renewing the attack the format is exciting and rewards players who put thought into their loadout and squadron composition if everyone wants to fly an a-wing or a thai interceptor the fastest and lightest ships available they'll have a hard time taking down the well-shielded capital ships and need to return to their own to resupply okay so i'm sure you could hear the difference between the xlr and the usb um yeah definitely the usb was a lot fuller sounding um had a lot more body and also if you think about it though it makes sense because on the xlr basically it's coming straight from the element to the recording and that's it uh in the motif software it's doing some compression you could you know it's doing some limiting and obviously the level and stuff i mean you could hear i mean you know you could it's pretty clear you could hear the compression kicking in and out and that's totally fine because you think about somebody who wants to get this they just want to plug and play they literally want to just plug this thing turn on obs and start streaming you know they don't want to have to worry about levels and all this other stuff so i think that's again the beauty of this particular mic so um okay so next what we're going to do is uh go through the motif software a motif motiv um the motif software will go through all the different settings both both uh manual and automatic settings uh and we'll listen to them and uh you'll see you'll basically see my screen and see how everything looks so all right here we go okay so as you can see i have the the motif software uh up the interface is up um i have the um i have my photo up so you can see about where i am in relation to the mic especially when we get to the uh the near and far settings and also too i have audition open so you can get an idea about just what kind of levels we're looking at so right now i have it in manual mode let me go ahead and put it back to auto so this is auto level right now um as you can see so if i'm i'm i'm about six inches away from the mic and i'm speaking a pretty good volume at the moment um and it's peaking like about minus nine minus 12 somewhere around there um it is set for the near mode um so which is like i said it's about what they pro uh recommend about six inches from your mouth and so we'll do that so now let's go uh the first thing we'll do is um we'll look at this you can save presets which is kind of cool depending on like if you're changing your setup setup and you know okay i always have a setup when i'm doing this it's this so you can change it save those presets which is cool obviously we can mute the mic um but now that's back uh monitor mix when we're actually cueing off of the headphone out on this and then also to then the near and far so let's look at uh let's listen real quick so right now the tone is normal what they call normal and then now we're going to switch to what is considered the dark mode so actually you know what let me throw on some headphones right now and uh so i can listen with you all right so just to let you know um i tried using headphones monitoring this and apparently it doesn't pass it through um the tone change doesn't pass through the headphones i listened i switched a couple times i couldn't hear the difference on the headphones at least so um i guess it's only for for when it records but um as you can see from the uh the volume i mean it's a little hotter um you know it's you know i mean especially right here you can see it peaked up a little bit but mostly the difference is in the tone because it's still the input's still about the same the compression that compression that they have on there is still about the same so this is the dark tone and then we'll go here to the bright tone which is right here this is the bright tone so imagine this is to kind of you know make your vocals pop a little bit more on top and stuff uh just so getting uh you know especially like i said if you're if you're playing a game environment stuff like that whereas you have the game audio playing um you want your voice on top of that so this will probably help it pop through if you really if you needed to um so there you go so let's go back to normal now or natural i should say which is here and we're in natural tone so we're gonna play with the proximity so right now i am in the near setting and like i said it's about six inches or so um if you look at my little ruler here i am oops about six inches away and so what i'm gonna do is i'm going to push this back so i'm about so i'm about a foot away now from the element um and but then what i'm going to do is i'm going to switch it to far in three two one so now this is in far mode um and like i said the mic is about about a foot away from my mouth um they recommend six to eighteen inches um you know and and like i said twelve i figure it's like a happy medium and stuff um i can't i'm not listening right now i'm not monitoring so i'm not sure how much room sound you're picking up now if you get a little more reflection of what that is or how that changes uh let's once again we'll go through the uh the presets as far as the tone so right now we're in natural tone still and then we'll switch it here and now we're in dark tone in the far setting uh which will give you you know like i said it should give you a little darker tone i mean you're still losing some proximity effect because you're not right up against the element but it i'm sure the the software is making up for it and we're going to switch to the bright tone right now in right now and so basically this is the bright tone with the far setting um so this will pick up a little bit more of the the transients when you're kind of going sharp with your tone and uh yeah so so that's how that sounds all right so now let's go back to natural and near and we'll pull it close again and now we're going to go and we will go into the manual settings here so the manual settings uh basically whereas i can manually control the input obviously so right now i have it like about 36 db i can take it all the way down if i want to and obviously have it pretty low and then uh looks like 36 is where the what they're peaked out at and so i have this pretty much wide open you can probably see down bottom my peaks are a little bit higher i'm peaking more like you know minus six minus three on occasion if i really lay into it if i get really excited or something like that yeah then i'm leaning into it um you can see i'm peeking out um so the next thing we'll take a look at is this is the eq setting here so right now the eq is is flat um and but then we'll go here so this is our high pass filter here um and once again i don't know exactly where the high pass is i'm thinking typically it's like 60 or 100 um and so we're you know listening to you're probably hearing a lot of the low low end go away from my voice even though i'm you know pretty much on top of the mic here you're not hearing the uh the quite the low stuff as much uh we'll go to the next setting here which is a frequency uh presence boost i should say which is right here um this is the presence boost so around my uh vocal tone should be popping out a little bit more about two to four k i'm guessing is where that is so it's making my vocal pop out just a little bit further and then we're going to go to the combo which is the high pass and the presence boost which is right here so we'll give you uh get rid of the high end i'll get rid of the low end and also give you that presence boost so this is probably um very very bright sounding or pretty bright sounding at least at the moment uh because basically it's all it's all the intention is just to get the vocal just out there you know get the frequencies out there and stuff so so yeah so this is what the combination of the presence and the high pass sound like so we'll go back now to the flat setting um we will go to the limiter we'll turn on the limiter but i don't the only thing i have the only issue i have with this i don't know where the limiter is set i don't know how it triggers you know it's like okay because i mean i'm seeing volume wise i'm not really seeing any difference um you know and and i didn't really see anything as far as literature as far as what the the limiter was set at um yeah so i don't know but that's it cool um and then we have the the compressor here which uh will kind of you know balance stuff out um this is light compression just a little bit of compression just kind of taking the peaks off probably and just kind of you know getting the when i spike out pretty hard just kind of pulling those back uh medium compression here uh you're probably hearing it a little bit more in my overall tone it's kind of balancing everything out and what it may be doing too is it may be doing um some sort of makeup gain uh when it pulls it down uh so it's it's pulling the the peaks down but it's also bringing up the overall level and then so then now here is the heavy uh compression which is probably and i can see i mean just the peaks by themselves i mean they're i'm hitting around zero or so uh a lot more often so that's it so there yeah so that's all the different settings uh once again you know you can save presets you can say you know say if you got a couple of sounds you really like you can save those recall those pretty pretty easily uh i'm gonna go back to compression actually you know what i'm gonna go back to auto level and go back to near back to where you were and you see it basically as soon as i hit auto level it just automatically goes back to that that previous tone so i apologize that my tones are all over the place so there you go so that's the software um yeah i think i mean honestly if unless you really know what you're doing you really have a certain sound you're going for the auto level probably will do exactly what you need it to do you know just plug it in i mean this is this is here by default you know once you install the software auto level is the default setting and so it'll be right there immediately so this may be from a lot of people out there this may be sufficient and probably more than what you need um also too i wanted to point something out and once again uh actually you know what let me do it in manual mode here so we can see um so right now if i go silent uh watch my meter down below so i'm not in a perfectly quiet room um you know like i said i'm in my living room uh the the my laptop that i'm recording off of is you can't see it but it's right there um and i can hear the fans going right now and you probably picked up on that uh just now um but let me do this and when i go to auto level um i don't think there's a gate involved but watch the meters again when i go silent i mean that's pretty quiet you know it's like it's a minus you know you know minus 60 noise floor which is pretty great um but once again the the volume difference between when it is engaged and it isn't is dramatic also so it makes sense it all relatively falls so all right there you go um yeah that's the software um let's uh yeah last thing we'll just kind of give you for some final thoughts and go from there all right stand by okay so uh one last thing that i wanted to point out uh before um i wrapped up and give you my final thoughts um one of the reasons why this has a usbc cable is there's actually an android app that you can hopefully see yep you can um let me show you so right now i am the what i'm recording what you're hearing i'm actually recording onto my phone right now um these uh see if i get this set up at the same time yes i can so basically the the setup on the phone is exactly the same type of setup is on the uh the desktop app so that's very cool so really like for i'm thinking like for in regards to voiceover i could bring this thing into my you know like i say if i'm traveling have it in my car plug it into my phone and record and send stuff because then once i record and once i get finished recording um i'll uh well i don't want to stop because obviously it'll you'll stop hearing me um but um i can save my recordings and i can share them uh you know i can email them i can you know save them off and stuff like that which you know so that's very cool so that's another really cool feature so i just wanted to share that with you guys before before we wrapped okay so let me put this down and uh we'll talk all right okay so um just to give you an update on uh the android app um i was actually able to um obviously since you heard it um i actually what i did is on the app itself actually i can show you real quick um so once i have the file here um you can see kind of yeah there you go um so basically once i have the the file um recorded then there's an option to share it you know so i just shared it and essentially i just emailed it to myself um you do have the option depending on how you have your phone set up you can share it onto dropbox or or whatever you need to there's actually some basic editing stuff too so if you need to you can clips uh stuff and make some cuts and edits and stuff like that very very cool so and the nice thing is you can go ahead you don't even have to own this you can still download the software you can't you know just get a feel for it obviously it's not going to work um but yeah so so that's the mv7 in a nutshell let's hopefully you know give you some really good information i think it's a really cool little mic uh for for 250 um you know you've got in my opinion a good sounding mic i think you know it's it's you know it's a dynamic mic so you know the volume recording volume is gonna be a little bit down but it hasn't been a problem so far you know i haven't really had to adjust the volumes terribly um but um yeah it's got a great tone it's got processing on board um it's got the usb connector on you can either go into your laptop or you can go into your mobile device so that's very awesome um it's a fun little phone or um well it's a fun little phone yeah it's a fun little phone too bad it's a microphone oh that's what i meant i mean it's a fun little micro phone so i should probably cut that but i'm not going to um yeah but it's a fun thing especially you know like for myself being a voice over person i could see myself when i travel just throw this on my uh my suitcase and that's it you know i in past i've carried um i have a 416 i'll carry with me uh with an interface but if i don't have to carry all that if i could just throw this into like even a backpack um that's great you know it's it's convenient and you know like especially because too i have this little fold up table stand um so between the two i think it would be a great option you know and like i said it's i'm it sounds great to me you know for for what it's going to be especially if you know while you're traveling you have auditions and stuff like that so yeah it's super easy stick in your car and just have it available um if you're a podcaster same thing uh you know it's super easy to to use if you're a streamer um you know like i said it plugs straight into obs i did test that offline and you know it recognizes it just like recognizes it just like any other uh audio device you know you just bring up your level like you would and stuff like that you know um but yeah it's a fun little mic i'm digging it you know like i said for the form factor in 250 i think it's a good value and a good deal so i think if you check it out you you will be pleasantly pleasantly surprised so that's just my opinion your your results may vary so anyways um thank you so much for hanging out with me all this time i am really honored and blessed the fact that you would uh choose to spend time to watch this hopefully you got something out of it um you know hopefully you got at least marginally entertained um you know and if you thought it was terrible i sorry my first time doing this stuff did the best i could but i had fun and uh so you know hopefully it'll get better over time um i know i've talked to sure already um and we're gonna start doing uh more uh things like this um with them they have one of their other mics they have it's a it's a very tiny mic it's called the mv88 and i'm going to get a copy of that uh within the next week or so so hopefully i'll do another video and then also too i'm trying to talk to um a retailer studio retailer in town that does a whole bunch of different mics and they have some amazing mics and uh you know just to kind of bring one in and do a shootout and stuff um i have i didn't do it for this particular video but i have a neumann tlm 103 i have a sennheiser 416 also i have access to a u87 so it would be kind of cool to pull in different mics compare those uh to what are considered standard uh uh voiceover microphones i hate that phrase but that's another story altogether um so yeah so hopefully we'll have a chance to do some shootouts have some fun um i just banged the table so hopefully oh i just did it again hopefully that did didn't resonate through the mic too much um but that's it thanks for hanging out uh i had fun you know first time doing this so anyways that's it i'm rambling now have a great night thanks so much we'll see you next time bye
