Shocking Interrogation of Husband Who Refuses to Believe Wife is a Murderer

is there going to be anything that hems you up or ties you absolutely nothing nothing nothing none on the 8th of September 2017 things were looking bright for Taylor Wright a 33-year-old recently divorced private investigator although she was dealing with a stressful divorce she had just moved in with her girlfriend and was excited about this new start in her life on the day in question Wright went out to spend the day with her friend Ashley MacArthur Wright and MacArthur as well as mathur's husband Zack all knew each other from their work as private investigators as the day progressed Wright's girlfriend found it increasingly difficult to get a hold of her until communication ceased entirely this caused considerable worry as this wasn't typical for right when it was discovered that her young son was also unable to get a hold of her it was clear to her family and friends that something was seriously wrong Arthur told police that Wright had become increasingly distressed throughout the day and eventually left in an Uber MacArthur later added that Wright had given her $34,000 to hold for her earlier during her divorce proceedings and had picked it up that day once Wright's ex-husband was cleared as a suspect attention turned to the last person known to see her alive Ashley MacArthur during a search of wri's phone the police discovered that the records of wri's location did not match MacArthur's story authorities zeroed in on MacArthur and and began searching her and her husband's bank and phone records They soon learned that on the day that Wright was last seen alive Ashley had made numerous calls from another property owned by the MacArthur in a different part of town than where MacArthur originally claimed to have been additionally authorities learned that MacArthur had deposited wri's $34,000 check into her bank account after 2 months of investigation and paperwork they were finally able to do a thorough search of the MacArthur's ious properties with great sadness and very little surprise it wasn't long before they made a gruesome Discovery a human skull with a bullet hole right with you thank you not a problem he that that's fun huh yeah damn a lot of shit's going down in here right yeah I hav been in this room interrogate anybody in here years I mean I've been with people yeah yeah yeah it's been a long time now I left in like 2012 what C you live um I had to use the force incident and the sheriff didn't see how everybody else back me up but really yeah the sheriff somebody Di no I just was coming in the jail and I had a guy resist to me he basically tens I had him under his arm tenses up on me and kind of turns at me and then I take him down and had to have some bu and had to have some stitches and FDLE backed me up I mean everybody but the sheriff just didn't Jesus dude yeah that's it dude I had I didn't think they get sh about I had an exemplary career nobody ever complained just the sheriff had a problem with it and he want to did he have something else against no he just he just he just really know law enfor experience you know he just shit he don't know you know what is his background Air Force he he was never a cop no and I mean I get I appreciate what he did in the Air Force you know anybody in the military that never he's never been a cop ever never well how can you be the sheriff if you've never anybody can run well I understand that but practically speaking it's like yeah he's a nice guy just is he yeah he's been nice to all of us what's he uh what did he do in the air I don't remember I'm suing him right now yeah false arrest bullshit case for a friend of mine shouldn't be sing shouldn't be calling any attention to himself if you know what I mean but they kind of did him dirty Deputy p he's a k even want to get this done so who is who's 7771 1266 1266 says Prestige next to it that's uh that P investigator that was there earlier it was where at our your office earlier with us oh okay okay that's the phone number mhm got it okay MacArthur waits for the interview to officially start chatting nervously he knows he wouldn't be there if the police didn't have any kind of evidence to go on but at this point he cannot wrap his mind around the possibility that his wife is involved in a murder how long you plan on staying here I'm supposed to be in court at 1:30 um so we'll see okay I've got depositions at 140 so something's going to end up probably having the flex but he said he thought it wouldn't take more than an hour I thought that was kind of long well taranda was the girl that came in with you yeah that's it well who's Prestige that's her business oh okay my bad my bad and she does she's a PI right mhm got it okay okay it's Prestige investigations or whatever yeah okay I was losing my mind was else probably being recorded right now M always yeah there it is she said if we need to get out and talk anything and go to the yeah for for what's up buba hey buddy hey there bares nice to meet you all right all right well I appreciate you coming in here obviously you know what this is all about um you know we're trying to get you in and out as quick as we can I know you got things to do I know we've got things to do yeah I actually have to be in court at 1:30 but if we get past that I'll figure something out I know that we were late so all right well just um I lose track of time just let me know and I know me a little heads up okay um you know we're going to kind of go over just what all information you may have for us to help the situation out what um so I'm just going to jump right on into it um can you tell me how you came to know Taylor um through working uh Pi cases okay and when was that that you met her um I don't know it's probably been over a year maybe um she she was working she and I both were working with Greg sers MH um we worked some cases together and then I worked maybe a couple for her out of Pensacola here yeah okay I mean but we worked in Santa Rosa and where you know where wherever the cases were that's it we just became friends okay and in that time did you guys ever have a fallen out or never um I from from doing this job for so long I just Taylor was not the she just wasn't like I would just pick her up pick up little lies from her so and it just stuff just didn't start seeming right and and uh she would disappear for days that you couldn't get her on the phone Greg and I would try to call her you couldn't get her on the phone and um so she she'd come over to our house every now and then she met my wife they became friends and um I remember asking my wife I'm like you think she's got a MacArthur his wife and the victim were all involved in private detection or work in connection with law enforcement which has the potential to make this case even more difficult to solve since they are familiar with the procedures and methods and the best way to get around them MacArthur doesn't paint a flattering picture of right but it is too early to tell if those were his genuine Impressions or if he is trying to make her disapp appearance sound like it would be in character drug problem she would go in the bathroom for a while I mean longer than than normal so I started figuring out that maybe maybe she had a drug problem I don't associate with that I'm still trying I'm still trying to get on with an agency I don't I don't go around that I for years I didn't talk to my own brother because of the lifestyle they live like I just don't I mean you know me I I don't associate with with people that so I cut ties with her I took her off my Facebook and I quit talking to her okay when's the last time that you think that you talked to Taylor um I remember I know when I was in DC and April or March Ash and I were in DC and she she was wanting to go in our house to either do a report or print something out and I was like no you know you're not going in our house I mean just I just had bad feelings about the girl something um and I I just didn't I didn't want to I didn't want her you know go in our house if we wasn't there and and uh Savannah was still there with a friend so I told Savannah to lock the door because a lot of times we just left the door unlocked at the house and I didn't want her to just go on in there so um and then I she the last two texts that it was probably a few months back I don't know how many months she text me one time hey can you call me I never responded to her and then one time she text me said hey I got a job somewhere so I never responded back to her so I just I cut ties with her now do you know if Ashley and Taylor continue to keep a relationship they did and and Ash is the kind of person that will go out of her way to help anybody um I know Ash was helping her move from her girlfriend's house you know or move from one girl's house to another girlfriend's house and I know they stayed in touch like that and I told Ash just you know just don't bring her around me cuz I don't I'm trying to get to hir on I just I thought she had a drug problem um Ash kind of thought she did you ever see anything though that no she carried a bag she had a little bag bag that she just kept with she just guarded with her and I just knew something wasn't right um I knew um have y'all talked to Jess wood at all about her I have not they were hanging out for a little bit how far back does that go I don't just before Jess started dating this new girl so um and I know that there was a night that that Taylor was staying at Jess's house and she just disappeared for hours and me and Jess both were like something's up with her I mean something is just wasn't right with the girl um and we just didn't trust her and me and Jess were like man you know Jess is like yeah we we don't need to be around her so well do you know how recently Ashley and Taylor were still friends hanging out talking on the phone whatever I thought they were trying to help I remember Taylor she said Taylor move used the her her box truck to move stuff and just ended up leaving leaving her belongings in the truck and I was like when is she going to come get all the stuff out of your truck you know and it was still I think it's out at the girlfriend's house from what Ash told me for a little bit until they took it to the to their office on Pace Boulevard okay and that was kind of around the time that she ended up going missing yeah yeah I guess so yeah some around then now when did you find out about that that she went missing mhm uh when the city come by and they were like hey she's been missing and they said the ash was one of the last ones to to be around her so they just wanted to come do a walk I was like come on in and I told them then I like man I I think the girl's got a drug problem you know she's she may be off somewhere doing some dope or whatever I said but I said she's not quite honest and and I think she's got a drug problem you know was that P troll that came by or detect what you know will height in uh big I can't remember giggly ATI yeah giggly ATI super nice guys um I love will heide he's good dude um they come through walk through the house and and uh then ash left with them to go give a statement and that was it okay um was that when she ended up they took her phone or whatever I think so okay I think she volunteered and gave it to them or whatever okay do you know if Ashley and Taylor were in a romantic relationship didn't like girls Ash did not like girls but now Taylor Taylor said I mean I know she was married married and I've heard her say she dated dudes but I never saw her nothing but all she talked about was girls that's it um so no they no no Ash didn't she didn't she didn't like girls I mean had I mean no she no I don't see that MacArthur strongly denies that there was any romantic attraction between his wife and Wright but given his relationship it is unlikely he would be able to admit even to himself that it was a possibility ility no evidence supports that scenario but every motive must be examined no matter how weak well I mean I'm sure now you've read the news and everything so you know shit's flying everywhere and I've read all kind of yes so you kind of know the date that we're talking about have you had a chance to go back and pinpoint where you were on the 8th of September it's very I can't remember shit but I've tried to do the very best I can so I could tell youall the best I can um I know I ate at lunch at the seafood um I went to the bank yesterday to pull my statement I know I ate lunch at the seafood place at n Mile in Pine Forest I ate there and I remember eating by myself and I remember Ash not being able to make it because she was tied up with work so I ate by myself um I don't know if it was Bull for before after that I went by a friend's house Jennifer Rolland um back up just say how how did you end up pay you pay for cash or did you use my debit card that's generally what I use is that one that's the only thing I got is that debit card and and and who is that through Wells Fargo okay so you had to use your debit card there yeah okay now what were you doing up in that area I mean I I eat there all the time I mean I I'm from up that way so I know people everywhere up that way um but I I did go to by Jennifer's house I think before before that now Jennifer Jer R yeah and you think that was before lunch I think so yeah is that just a friend of yours yeah do you have a phone number for her I don't okay um how long do you think that you were with Jennifer maybe an hour and I I don't remember maybe maybe an hour now where's her house at off of uh Bowman go down Bowman I think starts with a w I can't remember I mean I can remember how to get there but how do you get there um you turn off mile mhm go north and then you go up a couple streets take a right and then you go is it waldridge maybe waldridge you remember probably walri walri something like that I was there maybe an hour and I think that's when I I went to eat and um before or after I don't remember if I went I'm I'm thinking I went to eat after I'm not posit I'm not 100% so but I I I went to the bank yesterday pull my statement um to to try to figure out the best I could did you bring them in no I forgot them okay you have them though yeah you willing to hand those over absolutely okay no problem all right so were you trying to make arrangements with Ashley to meet up for lunch yeah I just always you know if she yeah I mean I love you know would have loved and she just said she was tied up with work okay all right and do you remember what you did after eating lunch um I guess I went home um I I have a charge on there for popey's that night so I I remember at some point going to Popeye Chicken on Cervantes and I remember I had the doors off my Jeep and it was a little chilly um and I remember having to weight on my food for a little bit so um I went to popey's and I was by myself I wasn't home so do you know where she was a lot of times she would uh hang out the pool hall up there at sticks or whatever with her girlfriends or whatever so maybe there I don't I mean I don't I don't remember okay um do you remember if she well first of all I guess you have a grandmother that lives out in Milton is that right did she go visit her very often just when we go over there okay do you know if she went out there anytime without you back in September okay um would your grandmother have told told you would it have been unusual and she said yeah yeah she would have told me okay um do you know anybody that lives out in Milton just my parents and H daddy hland you know um I mean yeah I mean I I don't know anybody else off off my head but yeah I mean yeah well while we're on that topic um at one point in time uh uh the family or you there was a farm that was out in mil that's her family that was her family's Farm out there who Ashley's yeah I mean but had you ever been out there you um the farm out there in Milton it's been years do they still own it her family does yeah I guess her uncle owns it since the farm is owned by his wife's family it is reasonable to believe that mathur has access still it would be odd if he was found there without his wife which still leaves the question of whether or not he took that risk was an accomplice or has no idea about the crime whatsoever where where is it East East Milton out off the by by by the railer tracks down there okay kind of where the sheriff's offices yeah like you go to heral or whatever y yeah um do you know anything about this money that Taylor had given you all no absolutely not she's never given me anything absolutely but I mean I I've read in the online or whatever what what you're talking about no I've never got anything like from that no okay do you do you know anything about your finances no to be honest I give her when like when I work a case or like and I I got a uh uh settlement for my attorney I hand it straight to Ash she takes care of everything how much was that check for uh one check was almost 50 and the other check was almost 10 so almost approximately 60 I handed it straight to her you didn't ever you don't want I've never even logged in yeah that's what I'm saying never looked on the account or gone to an ATM and pulled up account balance or anything the only time I've ever went to I've went to an ATM like if my if I got a new ATM card cuz I I've had something that went bad or whatever and I no never I don't I don't mess with it whatsoever she always did and those checks that you said that were yours that you signed over when was that um one was in March and the other one was in July uh the big one first or the small big one first and then the small one okay and who was the attorney on that John Gan is he here yeah okay all right do you know anything about your bills as far as how much you owe on credit cards or anything like that she pays everything she takes care of it all every single bit of it is there any indication that you guys are in financial trouble no I no I thought I'm living off my uh settlement I just gotten plus she works every day I mean I haven't worked in a few months doing the pi stuff but I no I didn't know we had any financial problems at all no I mean I just got $60,000 I don't have you checked to see if that money is from what I understand everything's gone where do you think it went I don't know when when did you come to find out that your money or the money that was in your account or y'all's account was um I guess after all all this investigation started in in the room were I don't know if I don't know who said that hey all the accounts are dry and I hear she's got like 13 accounts I didn't know that you know but I mean she runs she runs her business so I don't know I don't I I don't have any clue about the our bank account other I she pays everything every single bit of it do you know how much money she makes I heard her mother say one time that her mother said 45 her mother told my buddy Derwood Derwood told me that she made 45,000 I mean I thought thought she did well we've never really talked about it you know I just never I just thought she did well with that business they've had that business forever and you know that's it I feel stupid now not knowing you know well think think about this in Lan's terms of reality I mean the things you were able to do and the things that you have you think $445,000 would cover that I'm just assuming that she did very well with the business cuz I I mean she was she ran that business you know it used to be her dad's business she ran the business and you know I knew I got my money from the my uh settlement so I didn't think we had any any problems whatsoever what about prior to the settlement Financial wise prior to uh March and then whenever you said I just thought we were living off the money she made okay we really I mean I I don't think we've been doing much in the last years or so I mean I've been going off with my sheep dog people you know and they they fund all of that they've done a lot for me you know they they foot that so I haven't and and all I've been trying to do is like I've been out of town trying to get some jobs at some other agencies and stuff like that so MacArthur has very little to do with the household finances while it is a foolish Choice it isn't Criminal and if his wife is guilty it was probably something she took into consideration when she was making her plans okay um the property up on Brit Road M and that's owned by her aunt and uncle mhm have you ever been out there yeah when was the last time you think you were out there the last time I went out there is when I traded my fourwheeler for a side by side and that's the last time I been before that it was I couldn't tell you um when was that a couple months back do you think that it would have been before this happened or after probably before probably before okay yeah and do you know anything about a trailer I've got there a little bitty trailer that that is uh my side by side wouldn't fit on it so I just left it out there I was going to get her cousin to maybe replace the wood on it or whatever okay now her cousin Kyle yeah do you know him not very well no have you met him a few times yeah yeah yeah I mean I've been around him he's come over to the house you know and we went to a wedding out there you know I don't know beginning of Summer whenever whenever his brother got better um but that's it okay when do you ever talk to him on the phone um I talked to him he called his mom called me after Ash got arrested and she told me something about gave me Kyle's number and I called text Kyle and said here's my number if you name me your whatever and that was it prior to that have you ever spoken to him on the phone I don't believe so okay do you have his phone number saved in your phone not until the other day okay all right um now that property on Brit Road I understand that Ashley has a horse or maybe Savannah has a horse out there do she go out there and check on the horse ever from when I yeah I mean Ash would go out there all the time and check on the horse or feed you know I mean yeah I mean I'm yeah Ash go out there and feed the horse or whatever they could do with the horse you know I didn't never fool with it so how often do you think that she would go out there you just got to guess I don't know I couldn't tell you do you remember the last time that you knew she was up there um I know she had to bring me a key to get in the gate to get my four-wheeler out when I traded with that guy um you been trade no I I paid 1,500 bucks and my for weather you're out of check mhm out of your account yeah that's the only one I Ed and it was made out to an individual yes yeah yep do you remember who that was no but I I remember him living off a n my road did he own a business or something here in town he said he buys and sells shit all the time I don't I don't remember what he said he did okay um your phone number the 554 number do you always keep that on you yeah I reckon do you ever loan it out to anybody no okay no would you ever loan it to anybody or no do you remember Ashley ever using it taking it with her no never okay did it ever get lost or stolen or anything anything and get replaced no not that I recall okay um do you know a friend named Audrey yeah it's Ash's friend and do you know how she knows Audrey from from the pool hall have you ever met her before did she come to your house or she's come over a few times with Ash would you say that they're close friends yeah yeah okay have you spoken to Audrey at all since all this happened no who else does she hang out with at that pool hall Jessica I've heard her Jessica and uh the guy that owns it's Brandon and um she She and Him kind of hooked up back in we kind of had an open relationship I'm I'm sure you already know that um so and I'm assuming they they would hook up every now and then or whatever and um and then so whoever hangs out up there at the pool hall I've never been in there so okay you never I take that back I went in there maybe over year maybe when I went out collecting with Ash before we had to go in there maybe over a year ago something like that okay did you never hung out there socially no no okay now this Brandon guy I mean let's let's be honest here they had a relationship I didn't know they had a relationship I thought they were just hooking up every now and then I didn't know they had a relationship he uh I talked to him before he he told me that she was lying to him she was lying to me and I thought they were done and then he called me when I was in DC and said that you know was telling me hey she got arrested and that they were um that they I guess they were still talking or whatever and I had no idea you know I mean I didn't care if she you know just was hooking up with somebody but I mean I I wouldn't want her to be in a relationship with nobody you know did he tell you anything about anything that she had bought him yep what did he tell you he said that she bought him a motorcycle giving someone a motorcycle is hardly typical of a casual relationship and such a large gift indicates that Ashley MacArthur is less than responsible with money eventually that sort of habit catches up with you there's a reason why money is one of the main motives for murder okay and you had no idea about any of that zero okay did he tell you anything else that she bought in no he said that she no but he just he said that she had bought him a motorcycle and was and and bought some of them other girls a couple things or whatever um and that was it the girls from the bar yeah and I'm assume them made her friends or whatever that that's all that's all I remember okay do you know what those items were that for the girls he said a laptop a laptop how S I don't remember did he say anything else about it I mean did he CU Brandon kind of likes to talk he just kind of says whatever I don't remember y'all I was I was so stressed out and upset like I I was so shocked when he told me that she had bought and I didn't know whether to believe it or not you know and I still don't it's hard for me to believe and swallow that she would buy him something like that you know and it I mean it it hurts me you know I I um I I don't remember him saying anything else not I remember have you talked to him any since then no I don't think so I don't think so have you heard from any of her friends no no no he did he said he he said he would was going to come to talk to the Sheriff's Office maybe he called me twice I don't remember it was either once or twice I I don't remember I I was very very upset so I really don't it was either once or twice and he said the Sheriff's Office wanted to talk to him and that he en hired so I don't know some attorney and I like all right you know when was that um I guess the evening or afternoon that she got arrested now how did you find out that she got arrested I think her mom called me okay do you remember what time of day that was it was during the day cuz I I think I was it was during the day and she said she had come home and then they come back over there and picked her up did you know that she was going up to pbd yeah she said she was going to get her phone back okay um I mean when you find out all this happens what did you say I mean I was just in shock I mean I didn't know what to do I was in shock I didn't know I felt helpless and and I didn't know what I was just man I couldn't I couldn't eat I couldn't I was just I mean it's my wife you know I I love her very much I I didn't I didn't know what to do I felt helpless did you ever think about maybe what happened to Taylor while she was missing I honestly just figured out I I I was just thinking I I knew I I I knew I knew that she had that drug problem I really thought you know and I remember her did you assume that or you her girlfriend told Ash that she did now that I remember her Cassandra girl yes so I was like damn I knew it I'm never wrong judging people ever ever I was good at this job and you know I was um so Cassandra told Ash and I was like I knew knew it I knew she had and I don't know what it was I don't know what she was on whether it was coke or heroin or what and cuz I whatever it was keper you know would we wouldn't be able to get in touch with her for days or whatever Greg couldn't get he would call me and have you talk to her I'm like no man you know I ain't talked to her either and um Greg had heard she had a dope problem too um and uh but Cassandra told Ash that and I I remember saying thinking to myself I knew it so I Taylor was strange I mean she would just disappear you know she disappeared from Jess's house that night and I figured she was off just doing some dope somewhere what kind of drugs I her I think her girlfriend said cocaine okay pass out I don't know and I just y'all I don't I don't associate with people like that whatsoever I don't want to be around them well I mean the one thing that that you know we do know is is for a period of time that Ashley was communicating and was pretty tight with Taylor at some point yeah McArthur brags about being a good judge of character but he shouldn't Pat himself on the back just yet as more information about his wife is revealed it's safe to say that he will be questioning his judgment for a long time to come so and was that done away from from you I told as I said just just don't I said I just don't bring her around our house I don't want to be around her and Ash is just ash is the type of person she don't like confrontation she don't want to she probably she you know she don't want to argue with nobody anything like that you know she probably you know um yeah I I I told Ash I don't want to be around her so I don't want to be around anybody like that I mean I cut my own brother off because because of that so that ain't me I don't roll like that now the day that Taylor disappeared do you remember talking to Ashley on the phone or anything I'm sure we I mean we we talked periodically throughout the day do you remember talking on the phone to Ashley and hearing that Taylor was in the background sometime at that I I don't remember that I thought she was helping Ash or uh helping Taylor move those few days or or there was some time right then that she was helping Taylor mooved quite a bit and Taylor had to borrow the box truck or something like that so but do you remember and you may not remember what day it was but do you remember some conversation where you were speaking Ashley on the phone and you heard Taylor in the background and you knew Taylor was with her no I don't remember that no no um oh did Ashley start smoking cigarettes recently or something I don't think she ever quit to be honest okay she spoke um seems like some kind of generic brand I don't remember um I don't know if that was like Newports or it wasn't or I mean Salems or Salems it was Salem okay yeah all right go while I'm thinking about it um going back to the day we were asking you your timeline about when you went and ate seafood and then you went to this one girl's house or whatever the day of the eth mhm what were you driving that day my Jeep your Jeep Y and um where were the other vehicles I don't know I don't I don't remember what Ash was I know Ash was around that time using my truck to help Tay remove I know that I know I was driving my Jeep okay so there was a period of time that Ashley would drive your truck yeah yeah I know she was driving my truck then to help Taylor move around those days when Taylor was moving around those days and she Ash was driving my truck to help her move and you were driving your white teeth or your black tee white okay and then the black teeth was I I'm sure it was in whichever one Ash was driving was sitting at the house okay all right so it wasn't in the shop or anything like that I don't the black Jeep unless it was I I got a lift put on it at some point unless I don't remember I don't think so I I don't I don't think so and and on the the cigarettes that she smoke regular light menthols I think I I don't know much about I ain't never smoked no cigarette so I mean I think they were meths but I ain't sure but I've seen I mean I've seen her smoke different brand you know different brands you know but most of the time it was the uh s yeah yeah okay did you ever know her to drink during the day no did she drink beer no no no did she just she hardly ever drank she um she she um she told me she would have a shot up there at the pool hall every now and then but that's Ash didn't really drink did you use drugs no no I wouldn't have stayed with her I ain't down y' I'm not down like that I don't I don't I don't like I don't man I'm a cop through and through I don't I don't fuck around with that I don't want no no part of it I wouldn't know I wouldn't if I wouldn't have stayed I would not stayed with somebody that does that do you ever recall um did you ever sign any signature cards or anything to be put on an account um I mean the the accounts that I'm on I mean man I've been on that those accounts for so long I mean Ash could have brought probably um I'd never go to the bank very seldom so I mean I I never I mean I couldn't tell you the last time I've been I don't Ash deals with all of that every single bit of it did uh why did you end up canceling your credit card what what credit card you had canceled a credit card and it was reported stolen or claimed to be stolen of that nature my debit card I don't know if it was a debit or credit I've had a deit card all I've had is a debit card just just one I've had probably three over and it's but it's from for the same account so they just send me another one money is missing from their account his wife was using one of his trucks during the time of right's disappearance and MacArthur still can't connect the dots a bit concerning given the fact that he is a private investigator but sometimes when you're too close to a situation you're unable to see the obvious uh one of my strip kept stop working and it it wouldn't um it wouldn't it wouldn't what do you know about uh James Hayes who James Hayes is that that old dude that that uh that guy who lives at the shop helps him move equipment and shit how long's he been in the picture um I months I mean months she said he was she helps him move he helps move stuff at the at the shop and he just kind of showed up one day or what uh she met him he was working for that Brandon guy and he did he just did work for them just ond in jobs and I guess she got him to help at the shop and then kind of he's got what a little pallet or he sleep somewhere over from what I understand he stays right there at the shop yeah would you ever go to the business over there did you ever seen over um yeah I I had my uh my lawn more and shits over there you know stuff like that and I remember uh there were some pools table stuff in the garage I took to the shop and just anything I wanted to get out of the way of the garage I took to the shop you know just to get it out of my way at the house and then I would just you know put it there and he he I've seen him there before did did y'all pay him or anything like that I'm I'm sure Ash did um I'm sure she ate him too to do whatever the detectives tried to gauge how much MacArthur knew about the financial troubles he and his wife were having but it sounds like he has very simple interests in life and as long as things flowed smoothly he didn't pay much attention he has no idea what things cost or how much money was actually being spent his shock is genuine but it was avoidable if he had only paid attention what did did he build a deck yeah for time we went anywhere together I mean she used her card I didn't I never used mine unless she just left her purse in the car or something like that I I I guess too when I was going back to being oblivious like if if you wanted something if you were going to make a purchase over you know whatever standard grocery you know $2 $300 at Walmart for groceries or an outfit or something but I I mean you you never inquired about hey do we have the money to pay for this I would the only thing I would ever ask her is hey is this going to put us in a b can I get this or is this going to put us in a bond or what she's like no it's fine because you're trying to buy a truck right I was but evidently the financing and that truck was what 70,000 or 60 something 60 Grand 60 Grand where you going to trade your truck in okay but the payments from what I understand were going to go down so that's the only reason I was going to my truck have had some problems in the past and I was worried it's a Ford I was worried about it having some problems so I was like shit man maybe I can and the the financing for I understand that was going to be the same payments I thought you know why not or theay was going to be less is what what they said what or what she told me now and along those lines do you have any child support or anything like that how many children do you pay child support one one and are you current on all of that I am now okay what what do you mean well I mean the other day I I guess it's several times their computers is is absolutely ridiculous the child support people so evidently the other day they showed me behind or or whatever and then they they were going to do a uh shit I don't know what what are you call a purge or whatever so she went down and called it up for me now when would that have been I it was several weeks ago or so okay maybe maybe a month do you know how much money you owed they said I owed 1,200 bucks but we had just paid that's all the child support places it's always difficult what is your monthly child supp is 250 even every month 250 yeah and and who would pay that Ash by check by sometimes by check or sometimes by uh the last few times was by card and you just assume that monthly from the time y'all been together how long you've been paying child sport it's just done yeah would you ever intercept any mail if something came in that said get something now and then i' go down there and they're like hey your your child support um hasn't been paid so we'd go down there either I'd go down there or she'd go with me and be like we you know it was paid and we would just redo the uh written agreement and and that was it do you have any property at the I know you talked about the trailer uh do you have any other property there on uh at the farm on Brett Road just that trailer that's it that I know of just the trailer yeah and uh old piece of shit trailer and you said you had been out there in the past or whatever and they were using that as or the plan was to be a weding venue or something of that nature y or whatever yep okay and um I want to say by talking to some of the family or whatever they said that um I guess at one point prior to the wedding um you had a hammock or or something that nature that was out there by the when asked about property on the farm MacArthur says that he only has a trailer there with how little he pays attention to his finances it is not much of a reach to think that he might not be aware of his personal possessions either it is unlikely he bothered to check its condition frequently Gazo by the water or whatever that's probably Savannah's probably her little uh e e uh shit you know the little kind that you tie up in between things or something yeah that probably Savannah's do you remember what it looked like Eno is it a Eno I think what they're I don't know they're they're expensive ain't they yeah there savannas that's all I know I know she's got one anyways who who bought that she did or you did or I don't know if granny got it for her for Christmas or I I don't know have no idea no clue and that was just something that stayed out there whenever she come when Savannah in the case and says multiple times that he doesn't break the law or associate with people who do rather than helping himself he is just sending up red flags because these are statements that are commonly made by suspects who have broken the law this is an example of how innocent people can easily say something that could see them facing charges for a crime they didn't commit hell it's all over the news yeah you read it yeah I've read it read it and I'm I'm and I mean trying to swallow it and and and figure it all I mean it's like it it's terrible I it sucks but you've read it so you know at least some of the details and all I know is what I've read finish your question and just based upon that and your knowledge of the job that we do and the job that you used to do what's your thought feelings aside just logically we didn't just fucking show up at Brit Road I can't I can't I can't see her doing something like that I mean she's super intelligent you know she's got a criminal at one of her locations I remember I was like you know I was disappointed I didn't want her to have to go and then she left and she and I I wrote home a Milstead when when she said something like that or whatever you just take that at face to be true and yeah that's not uncommon for her to have to go fix a machine or or you know see what's wrong with it or if the Wi-Fi's out or whatever however that shit works and did y'all correspond at all after sure that night or whatever yeah I'm sure what time did you get home um Milstead dropped you off at home whenever Milstead dropped me off on rain know if she was with her or what I don't know but I know that I asked her to meet me for lunch and no she wouldn't have been with Taylor then raing up oh I no brother you're doing the best you can um know there was a little discrepancy there you know last time she was seen in an actual report uh being made um what what was at any time did you you know you talk with ask her what were her thoughts on any of that stuff I ask her every now and then I'm like did they has anybody ever said anything you know any any word on Taylor or anything like that she's like no nobody's heard nothing yet you then I got a call I don't remember what time it was that afternoon that I I failed that part of the test cuz of goddamn math on it like why do you put algebra on a fucking Police test you know what I mean like I don't remember remember fucking algebra you know I mean who the fuck what the fuck is point I mean shit like I ain't never seen on that motherfucker and I you know it's another fucking language and I was like my God I'm I think I only missed it by one or one point or something but fuck I don't remember no math you know I man I do good police work I I don't fuck with math I mean do fucking police work I don't I don't you know yeah so I failed that test and then I um I remember stay I love New Orleans absolutely fucking love it and um so I stayed that night um I ate at Mother's I walked down Bourbon Street there was a bunch of construction going on um and uh I had one hand grenade and um went back to the hotel got me some of them fucking cookies they give you at the desk I remember that cuz Ash likes to cook she's like give me some cookies so I got her some extra cook I remember the lady saying I'm like hey um the the lady said uh I said can I get a couple extra cookies my uh my wife really likes them she's like okay you know like assuming I'm my fat ass is going to eat all of them you know I remember that and I thought I remember telling Ash that but uh got her some cookies and I went upstairs and uh I didn't stay out real late and then I came home the next day morning time so that had been Tuesday yeah morning afternoon early afternoon come home I probably slept till 9 or 10 and then got up and um headed back towards the house and when you got did you go back to rain tree yeah yeah was anybody home when you got there um Ash's probably at work I don't I don't I don't really remember well that that brings up another good point I mean is it fair to say or does she have a set schedule you know like some people work Monday through Friday 85 or 9 yeah she would usually work she would usually get up at 9 or so then mosy on to work you know cuz she kind of made up her own schedule did somebody open the business for her or something no she never went to the office hardly ever they they they didn't go to the office she would just meet Miss Kay wherever and they go do their collection or fix machines or whatever that is whatever they do all the time MacArthur can't even give an accurate account of his wife's usual daily work schedule is fairly vague but it is the type of answer that comes from a lack of Engagement rather than as an attempt to hide information um throughout the week and um what's K's last name do you know Selman Selman I think it's Selman okay and you say she's a little bit older mhm my age older than you buddy I'm older than you are I know that all right uh is she pretty tight with K I wouldn't say tight K she's a fucking talker man she just sits there and just she just Rambles on about shit so it's fair to say then if she really didn't have to go to the office I mean she kind of has free rain to kind of go do whatever she needs to do she would meet Miss Kay off and on or help yeah or Kay would go collect some stuff here and ask would go to another location from what I understand that's that's how they they work sometimes they would go together sometimes they wouldn't depending on just depending on what machine needed what I mean since Ashley's running the business uh uh proceeds or income that were coming into the business from whatever you had whatever you know uh the family or whoever had out there um the proceeds I mean were were her mom and dad still get cut no from what I understand Ash hand I thought it was ashes you know I thought everything I think uh her dad would ask for some cash every now and then or whatever and he's kind of lost it you know he's not he's got dementia little I don't know what whatever he's got but every now and then she'd give him some cash if he needed it or whatever but it was from what I understand it was 100 it was ashes everything was ashes that's I never never question you know I thought she did very well with that business her her dad used to do very well with it so I had no reason to to question any of that you know does Ashley get paid from a trust fund also I don't know I don't know I bet there's a lot of questions you wish you would ask now oh my god dude y'all have no idea so all right I can't think of nothing else if we want to go out and uh get that phone uh let me get a form real quick okay and uh then I mean we'll give as soon the detectives have learned what little information MacArthur possesses and they decide there is no need need to continue the interview during Ashley MacArthur's trial the series of events leading up to Taylor Wright's murder was revealed Wright told MacArthur that she needed the $34,000 check back but by then MacArthur had already used the money to pay off her her credit cards and buy a motorcycle for her lover MacArthur then picked up right under the guise of going to the bank but she likely made up a story about needing to stop by the farm where Wright's body would later be found it was there that MacArthur shot her friend in the back of the head prosecutors claim and then buried her body underneath potting soil and concrete afterward she then used wri's phone to send messages to make it seem as if Wright was still alive as a former crime scene technician MacArthur knew exactly what to do to cover up her crime after a 4-day trial a jury found Ashley MacArthur guilty and a
