Wow it's unbelievably beautiful hope you're having an amazing day it's mark Wiens and I just got back I just finished a two week it was a life-changing trip to Iran and during my trip to Iran we traveled from the north to the south eating amazing food meeting so many incredible people and learning about the history of Iran and we filmed videos along the way I can't wait to share with you this entire series but this video this opening video is gonna be a little bit different I'm gonna share with you the very first day when we arrived we immediately started eating street food we had celebrations we'd hung out it was an incredible time and then we're gonna fast-forward all the way to the last day I'm gonna share with them the experiences we had the people we met the celebrations and all of the food so let's rewind to the first day let's get back to Iran [Music] thirty minute drive to get to the base of the Milad tower and it looks huge from far but when you're at the base of it it's just massive and that like cup at the top is huge one on 235 man there's a 35-minute I've been this into a thousand seven so we're not actually going to go to the top because we don't have so much time and it's already starting to get kind of dark but it is it would be amazing it is really high and what's just impressive them about Tehran is just the the magnitude of a city it's such a huge city and especially with the snow-capped mountains in the background which you can see from our hotel it's the mountains are spectacular okay we're gonna move on from here [Music] as ID monument and we're gonna cross the roundabout to get to the center not easy to cross the city when you see a photo of Tehran this is the image you see this is the monument you see this represents Tehran and it's just an impressive architectural wonder with the gates that represent the gates entering into Tehran it's almost like taking four doors and four like clusters and almost like twisting them this is the actual center right here wow that's unbelievable the architecture the like simplicity and this just yeah this represents the architecture or Indian architecture hey Ron look at the name of this place darren darabond yeah darwin and this is a area of restaurants yeah there are many rest' was everything from the Azadi monument we took a drive through Terre and then we came up the side of the mountain we're in the or actually next to the rock we were like somewhere in the mountain and this is an area at Thresh counts with street food with just life happening and so we're gonna walk around here will probably eat and we'll just explore this area all sorts of different preserved fruits dried fruits in like candied fruits it looks like oh well bunch of awesome has this like salty sweetness to it is that it Carrie Carrie okay yes really good personality ah sure said it's a noodle like a noodle noodle severe okay oh that's ready okay so we're stopping quickly for some sugar beets you'll see them like kind of like braising that display is awesome it's really hot yeah okay Cheers [Laughter] it's so sweet but like slightly bitter because anything it's really good for when it's getting cold like winter it's also nice to be standing in the steam of the the noodle soup yeah that warmth in that aroma is great as well oh that's great though like the juiciness of those beet ha ha these are broad beans yeah so it's like a snack thank you you feel this good you're just gonna kind of look pop them out you can eat the skin too by the tenant hardly anything given either yeah inside is like a starchy deck finished our yeah from the video hmm really good it's almost like snacking on peanuts style because you just kind of like addictive it's salty and yeah really good dugong to Tarshish there the noodle seal yeah yeah sure yeah eternity virus base so there is curtain air and some mint okay you can see the Kirk you normally mixing it like this yeah look at that you kind of smell the mint and care together look at that it's for you Wow it's awesome I love the mint in there the noodles are so soft that they just melt in your mouth yeah like it almost just completely dissolve into like a gravy texture soup the herbaceousness of it is what makes it for me though and there's also some beans in here as well yeah being a them chickpeas [Laughter] [Music] that's good that this is the perio roots actually made from yogurt to get different page six oh that's amazing yeah you don't even expect that like explosion of tartness the tartness it's so sour and like syrupy fruity mmm yeah that's like addictively delicious and tart is it for me have one oh thank you do you want salt on it very fresh walnuts which are soaking in salt water and that's amazing how they crack out the entire walnut wow it's so like milky milky and crisp though yeah no it's good it's good and it's good with salt in the fresh milk initiative it was one of the best walnuts I've ever had [Music] Oh how me does it only open at night time or you know full day a whole day okay many people are going to the mountain morning actually so you can like hike up the mountain from here and there's no didn't acts along the way okay the stalls have stopped and now we're coming to an area where it looks like these massive like Courtyard restaurants in the gardens in the side of the mountain but beautiful like Tyrus restaurants and places what's the name of the coop are you cool for your restaurant right Scott yes we're stopping here to eat and to celebrate yeah which we will see it we'll see it later owner is amazing and he said appetite flag the Iran flag at the end of the table that's awesome pomegranate juice Wow cinnamon thank you very hot and it's hot too hot well that's cinnamon this smells incredible Wow well that's just the pure pomegranate juice just infused with its actually there's so much cinnamon in there it's like spicy from the cinnamon it's very warming and nice when it's cold outside soup in a bread bowl and then he sprinkled on some pepper try some of the soup a little machine to pick you it Marley Marley song well if you like it believe them fall months ah come again walnut gainst walnut paste yeah olives in there yeah and pomegranates yeah that's amazing you call it they to empower are there and you just eat it like this or do you put it on bread no just understand okay Wow there is amazing look walnut butter smoky walnut butter the briny olives and the sweet and her pomegranate so this is mr. vasami catching about them John post obg is from the tomato garlic and egg and this one with courage and also you can see mint on top - same as Marc beans [Music] aubergine and mint lien on top yeah and then like the smokey oiliness of the above I love it let's go for the second monitor it's got garlic aubergine egg and that's it and let's go [Music] yeah a smoky and so smoky and like almost like meaty tasty yes we're smoking anything eggplant I love although and the garlic you can taste the garlic as though wow that's up hosenki fathers fire coming out of the tomato lamb chops she can either be a koobideh and she can come and she can care of lunch on shish kabob it's ribs on the saffron rice and just literally just pulled out the bone just like a flaming steamed bone just comes out completely clean and then you just cut it like a birthday cake you just let's let's do that meat like a cake you know inside you are thinking oh it just keeps on coming so none behind us yeah sizzling okay oh thank you is that my to be get you up there yeah a beef ribs you ready thank you [Music] Oh largest search in 30 days this is to modern motorized and it's a price what would be more saffron why she would be there or normally go for under pop Irish as in Paris if it baby all of a sudden it turned into a meat feast yeah what would be go shish kebab ease oh sheesh kebab is the way these are like the lamb yeah [Music] Oh it's so tender it all stays like minced meat I looked at the fire at another it's just completely juicing and caramelized it's so juicy and I'm sure naturally good you is attaching kids rice egg and saffron [Music] the melt-in-your-mouth with a bat is like a lamb aromatisse to show the perfect it's so perfect okay okay yeah now it's the time for the coup be dead take the bread the bread some of the kebab like this oh it's just like look at it's like a string of kebab well just pile it in yeah have some tomato two Tomatoes video on and some onions were talking some onions okay and take some lemon lemon yeah oh I forgot so much oh look at that little lemon a little pinches on that ready [Music] Wow look and earnest of it didn't well clam also the slurm will get sometimes mix it with beef as their oh wow this hundred is gonna meet the juicy partners of the tomato and just that squeeze of lemon yeah bring out everything that just melts in your mouth again the kebab and Iranian have lots of memory of the ski boat they're all sitting together and having kebabs every night with the family with the friends a fron like that are my eyes crunchy top and bottom with a pink its egg just kind of like curl those curl the holding it together [Music] [Laughter] [Applause] Pompeian push them and said I see a blue tinge this is the real night for tonight the real reason for tonight's dinner is thank you celebrating mister tasters saluted and I can guarantee blazing a love last blue tick party two three blue tick cake is served I got the tea with rose petal the whole rose in it and then they brought over a whole plate of desserts but I'm beginning to realize that everything is like an entire food festival here the portions the beautification of the food is just it's spectacular oh yeah - but you really taste that floral rose rose in it we tried the cake no not yet each love Instagram [Music] bananas in there yeah from Castro pass three [Music] [Music] [Music] okay we have come to the end of this day and this has been this was just the first day in Tehran this was that was brewing my first meal big meal in Tehran and it was just my first impression my first initial thoughts just an outstanding afternoon immediately what strikes me about Iran about Tehran is the people and just how welcoming they are and how hospitable they are and just the the friendliness and like a family attitude of everything that's what made it there it is that's my first my first touch ever of the Caspian Sea [Music] [Music] we are back in Tehran after traveling around Iran for 1301 13 days almost two weeks we traveled around the country this is actually our final day in Iran our final day in Tehran tonight we fly out but today we're gonna have a special day we're gonna eat a few things there's gonna be a few special surprises great to be back in Tehran the view of the city the cool breeze it's fantastic yes mr. taster we're gonna miss you we're gonna miss all of you [Music] Nancy this is actually a an Italian restaurant in time we came upstairs and it's like an entire party that they have set up for us and this is a surprise this is an amazing need it's a Persian carpet our family on it what a unbelievable memorable gift from Iran from the amazing people thank you all so much something to cherish for my lifetime that's for sure that one is name is banded Union name is banded okay so the chef has prepared all they're all egg dishes they're all like omelette dishes there's like a massive trough of an omelette there's omelette trays like the bait that's not bread that's omelette on the base and then my favorite one you can call it the the bacon omelet pyramid bacon omelet pyramid the bacon bacon bacon omelet bacon cake like a bacon bacon pyramid exactly thank you my point is small I better start with coffee too to start to jump-start the digestive system okay now we can move on to eggs and bacon the bacon pyramid my entire plate is just filled with bacon bacon an egg and just solid protein meat and egg I think there's porn in there and peppers too and just a spice like the herbalist of it the Thai chicken omelette [Music] on the behalf of the nation of the country very warm welcome to you and your family as a way to be grateful to you and for all of your jobs already done by you thank you so much bye-bye that's man and I got money from Tabriz Wow let's say gift for the very special people on the behalf of the whole nation mr. scanner is given this your family kiddush this is a very high quality carpet [Music] [Applause] thank you so much thank you so much I'm blown away and speechless right now the most precious the most memorable the most special gift I've ever received a huge honor and now we have come over to the next place this place is called BAM land hello hello good-good thank you nice to meet you [Music] it's a traditional Iranian Russia has set up so modern modernized everything so beautiful and I think we're going to start with a team but this is the courtyard there's the replica of the Teheran gate which has since been destroyed but replicated here brand the restaurant is old from a hundred nine years ago but the owner is his generations of food of Deranian food in Tehran and they've recreated this restaurant in a modern style of modern take on Iranian Persian cuisine in such a nice setting [Music] in the kitchen now this is where everything happens the aromas in different students and different meats the coupe's above meatballs are on the stove and he just opened up the it's like the jackpot that's like the boiling oven of BZ which is one of the greatest dishes of Iran made in clay pots crank up the fire their abundance they're boiling away in smell the lamb you can smell the chickpeas and all the spicy tomatoey aromas all man that is beautiful it's a treasure chest [Music] wow that's pretty high so many hot bubbling meat juices and oils just flying around the kitchen in hot Floyd pens and metal pans and I love how when they serve it they they gather all the dishes that they put them onto like giant tray and then take that to your table I'm just the displays so a hot steamy aromas of me just immediately make your mouth water [Music] like pink for this special occasion the final final meal oh what a mule in front of us though and these are like some of the dishes that we've tried throughout you God so gathering back being back in Tehran some of the dishes from Tabriz from Rashed from Shiraz from Isfahan some a range of dishes from around the country [Music] [Music] these young Diesel's no chickpeas cheesy chicken chickpeas and lemon what this is mashing beans chickpeas tomatoes and lamb and just that is the most satisfying sound is it like it literally like sloshes and squishes as he matches that into a feast so that the lamb is just disintegrating into the beans and the starch Oh oh I'm hot some green onion onions there onion will be completely yeah that completes one of the greatest bites [Music] oh well oh it's so incredible chase that with a handful of herbs [Music] it's like actually sweet from the lamb melted lamb fat absorbed into bread equals outrageous flavor poof - you're a zero no coup d'etat breezy breezy yeah this is the most known dish of Tabriz and there's their giant like balls of meat with a there's a walnut in the center in the center somebody food or creature okay and this one is with walnuts yeah [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] it's so soft and tender and just absorbed again with that sauce with the like tomato we showered as the department and the barbers so the firm touch incredible yeah and then balance with the freshness of the herbs if this oil is coming from the one line okay so Fez in June one of the greatest dishes of Iran and it's this one is made with chicken all of that oil comes from walnut so it's walnut oil it's a walnut flavor it's even a walnut paste and then pomegranate paste that make up the flavor of this like rich and hearty healthy luscious stew sweet and sour so you know you so walnut oil eat so much flavor in that oil and the fruitiness the fruity this would be their kebab coupie day one of the greatest above a set of balloons to me it never gets old it always is good mash that with tomatoes for that tartness that sourness and cheese it always have to have onion prepared to chase it [Music] Wow [Music] is super delicious run down a huge bite is for you to take it to Bangkok [Laughter] [Music] unbelievable flavor the nasty mamnoon he was like on thank you very much you're most welcome thank you so much yes you mom dude look at that detail lunch was spectacular and again at just an amazing display of hospitality from the owner from the staff unbelievable meal and we're gonna take a quick boat ride next this is actually more like an entire houseboat it's huge actually it's a restaurant but this is an entire day that I will never forget [Music] you got cold outside oh that is perfect Wow thank you first of all the carpet the gifts and everything that received it's the most precious most special most like heart-felt gifts that I've ever received in my life oh thank you and to everybody that was a part of it because it represents the thousands of years of history the culture the hospitals up the hospitality of the people of Iran and so I want to say a huge thank you to mr. taster and pega and to everybody that we met along the way to everybody that was a part of making this happen but without mr. taster without how many Thank You Farah so much we nothing would have been possible without how
