hi everyone and welcome back to the channel now the garage is looking much cleaner to me I took the time to organize the mess that I had here last time I still haven't quite figured out what to do with all these cables but I'll get to it but anyways back to what this video is about today so I'll be installing my front and rear sway bars on my Shelby gt350 and a few reasons and benefits on why I'm doing so is to improve suspension and further diminish body roll during fast cornering and/or road irregularities so this will be very useful and helpful when I take the car to the track in turn it'll just improve how it handles and it'll make the car feel way more planted on the ground I already went ahead and place the car on the lift and I did have to back it up as many of you suggested just because I couldn't clear these steel ramps when placing the car forward because of a large splitter I'm still waiting on my aluminum ramps that I ordered and then I mentioned last video but they're due to get here towards the end of the month store I still have some time I also placed the quick racks under the car it wasn't much different as to when the car is on the ground the only thing I had to do for these is to actually get one side on the ramp and then the other side I'll go ahead and show you this once I remove the car from the fork post lift now I haven't opened up the box for the front and rear sway bars yet so let's go ahead and do that so using my front and rear sway bars and I went with I back just because they have a three-way adjustability so you can set them from either the softest setting the middle or the most if exciting when I install these I'm going to have both of them on the middle setting then I'll go ahead and take my car to the track see how it feels and from that I'll determine if I should leave them on the middle setting or move them to the softest or more stiffer setting not these bushings are made out of polyurethane so these are made for performance driving and they're better than the rubber ones that won't really last as long so now I need to go ahead and lower the car because I need to remove the intake and also loosened some bolts that are holding up the front sway bar and I need to access them from the engine bay the rest of them I need to access from the bottom [Music] so I just removed the intake now I have two bolts that I need to remove from here and they're both using an 18 millimeter socket so the first one is here on the driver's side and this is the most easily accessible one the bolt is right there I really can get to the one that's under the alternator but once we go to the passenger side so there's I'm not really sure if you can see it here on the passenger side there's a bolt that goes all the way down there this is going to be the most hardest one to get to I have to use a couple extensions to get to it but before that I'm going to go ahead and raise the list and the quick jack both to the first lock then remove the two bolts then the wheels then once I'm done I'll raise the lid to my desired Heights where I can work under the car so now I've raised both the list and the quick track on their first lock I thought there would be more to it or it would be more eventful but I mean it turned out being find it worked out just the same as if the quick track were to be on the floor and you can see here that it's on its first lock so it's not relying on the hydraulic pressure and it seems pretty sturdy now as far as the lift I think this is a pretty good height for me to remove the wheels mm no I think I think we need to put it on the second lock so let's go ahead and do that together all right here goes [Music] [Laughter] [Music] all right so now let's lower slowly okay now let's see if this is a better height yes yes much better I think I have more leverage here to remove the wheels oh by the way I never told you guys so these wheel chocks ended up working perfectly fine so this height is pretty good I don't need to get any smaller ones so now I just need to get up on the lid and remove those two bolts which shouldn't be a problem let me just get up here all right so I mean it's no different than if I were to be with the car on the floor and accessing the engine bay through here but now let's just go ahead and get these two bolts removed [Music] so now the wheels are off I have access to remove the bolt that's holding the sway bar but before I do that I need to remove the end link it's right here that's connected to the sway bar so on the driver's side I need to do the same thing and also remove the sensor [Music] [Music] so the front sway bar is finally off and it was a little bit complicated to remove the bolt that was here holding the sway bar just because of this plastic protective piece this made it pretty annoying I think that's just there to like protect the alternator from getting wet but I was finding able to get it off other than that everything was pretty easy to remove now the sway bar I did require some help because it's a bit annoying it might get stuck in there with the lever so I did have someone from the passenger side to push it and guide me so I would recommend to have a second person help you know let me just show you how the stock sway bar looks so this is a stock one and this is the front sway bar that I'm going to install so you might think well it looked pretty much similar just a different color but they're not the key differences are that this one has the three-way adjustability while this one doesn't it only has one and also this one is 34 millimeters thick while this one is 35 millimeters thick so now time to go ahead and install it [Music] so the front sway bar is now in it was definitely much easier than to take it out and that's because it didn't have any brackets like the stock one that would cause it to get stuck when I was trying to pull it out but now I just put these polyurethane bushings on the sway bar but first I loop them up with that's a side greeted here's the supplied grease and I'm just going to go ahead and loop them up as much as I can once I'm done with that then I'll just go ahead and slide them onto the sway bar and then I'll go ahead and put the brackets over them once I'm done then I'll go ahead and just finished up with all the bolts and that should be pretty much it for the front [Music] [Music] so the front sway bar is finally installed so it's pretty tight and sturdy I put out of the hold back in and I also did place it in the middle setting so it's in the center hole so next time I take it to the track I'm going to go ahead and test it and see if I like how it feels that way or if I need to adjust it I put it on the softer or more stiffer setting but now I need to lower the hood raise up the lid to a height that I can to work under the car so we can get started on the rear suspension so the car is now up on the bent pack for post lift and also on the quick jacks so essentially I turned my for post lift into a to post lift sort of so I did go ahead and raise it one more lock just because the first time I raised it I didn't have enough space but now I can stand up straight perfectly fine so this is the rear sway bar this is the stock one I'm about to remove so it just has two brackets and four bolts total and I also need to remove the bolt from the end link on each side so I'm hoping that this is going to be a little bit less painful than the front so let's go ahead and get started you so I just removed the rear sway bar and it was much easier than the front because there's just more of him to work with and it didn't get stuck but the bolts that were holding the brackets were a bit of a pain just because they have locked tight and they don't come out really smoothly but glad that I got them out now this is the stock rear sway bar and this is the iPAQ rear sway bar that I'm going to install so once again this one only has one hole while this one has the 3-way adjustability and I will place it on the middle hole this one is 22 millimeters while this one is 25 millimeters I will go ahead right now and lube these bushings and then just slide them onto the sway bar and then go ahead and install it once it's up there then I will add the brackets so everything is pretty much the same except it comes with these washers that they do want you use on the OEM bolts that hold the brackets it also has this bracket for the brake line so let's go ahead and do that you just finish the rear sway bar installation it turned out being pretty well so now I'm done with both now I'm going to move the tools from the ramps lower the four poles list like about halfway put on the wheels torque them and then I'll be pretty much done I'm finally done with my swaybar install all in all I have to say that it wasn't a hard installation it was just a little bit tedious especially with the front sway bar just because there's not that much room to work with and it might get stuck there so I do recommend getting and someone else to assist you in removing it they were also some boats that weren't so smooth to remove but now I do want to share my thoughts on using a quick jack on a four-post lift and I have to say that I have zero complaints it worked perfectly fine now I know it may seem a little bit annoying in setting up the quick track on the ramps but not really it's not that different than setting it up on the floor and using it there although I was a little bit worried is that the ramps would Bend at the middle just because I had all the way to shift it towards the center but it didn't bend it didn't bulged nothing happened and I mean the footprint of the quick track is rather large so it's not like I have all of the weight concentrated directly in the middle so I think it's safe to say that I will continue using a quick Jack until I eventually get one rolling jack and it's not like I'm going to use it that often unless I'm doing some suspension work I also wouldn't leave it like overnight just for a few hours with an installation like I did it seems to work perfectly fine but other than that I'll just continue using the fork post so I hope you enjoyed thank you for watching and I'll see you in the next one [Music] you
