YouTube channel go small live large all about the campervan travel experience enjoy this video he's made some really interesting modifications you're not going to want to miss a single one of these we're going to jump inside in a few minutes but first we're doing around the outside Roger Jane's off camera and just thank you again for sharing your van with us today and what are we standing in front of what is this van so you say that she's a 2021 Travato GL Winnebago Trivago GL she's on a 2021 ProMaster chassis oh okay oh so she's she's the uh the last of the uh old floor plans let's say will be nice and um what's striking to me right away is it's white which is really kind of unusual color was that by Design or just by accident or no where you actually ordered we ordered it and we ordered a white um I like the white I like the look of the white but primarily was I wanted to reflect as much um uh the energy as possible from the Sun yeah so it reflects as much as you can from the sun which keeps it cooler yeah that's the Hope um see orders where'd you buy this from we bought it from Winnebago motorhomes or Rockford Illinois Nick and the team they're fantastic highly recommended Roger would you mind showing us around the van on the outside first so the first thing we gotta notice right away is the Discovery decal what's the story on that well like I said rainbow Discovery and uh I'm an aerospace nerd yeah I love love space love flying I'm a pilot I fly just for fun and uh so we made our Discovery after the Workhorse of the Space Shuttle Fleet and also Discovery your exploration that's kind of her mission for us so it all fit in really well and she's black and white like that's so great and so here's the last year they had the two speakers right yes yes 2021 when it came to 2022 either way with this I did the speakers I use mine all the time I love those and then they're nice to have these are what are we looking at you have the uh you know outside 110 all right and then you have um if you want to put a TV out here you can actually connect the TV there and plug it in for 12 volt okay everything else on a 12 volt uh we can have external uh solar that you can plug into the side here and this is your black tank flush black tank flush and let me just kind of back up so everyone gets a little view of the van here so again it's very distinctive by being white but it's also it's got different tires and wheels and looks like it's been lifted and maybe just talk to us a little bit about that yeah up Highway Vans um did the did the lift for us and they also put on their ride control they call the right control um suspension system which really is the Bilstein shock shocks hard to see there but let me show you this real quick yeah this is that's the big yellow thing well that is that's sexy let me tell you yeah it look good but they also they really control the um the especially like you feel it in crushed compression and rebound it's just much have very much private control these things are heavy yeah right we're loaded so they're good the tires are the are the Michelin LGS cross climates um these are the uh the C metrics um we've got we got to switch our directional you can see that they are the directional tread yeah um so they are they're kind of a cross between a you know a little bit of an off-road but really good on-road and they have a real good you can see they got a really beefy uh sideways which is what I really like absolutely Roger what is this thing that is uh we have a tire um pressure monitoring system okay set up we can look at that when we go in yeah for sure this is the sensor for that they just screw right onto the to each one of the tires uh okay has an awning yep just like mine power running so you got the nice wide running board okay I just love the weight so I'm seeing a brush guard here what's the story and lights very jealous what's the story on the brush guard got a brush guard we also got it uh at off Highway Vans they put it on for us um they're fortunate enough that we had one my wife wasn't real thrilled they had one but we've got it and put it on well anyway we were there so so that was really nice and then this spring I put the uh I had the lights on they're just Vision X off-road lights just give a little more illumination if you're going someplace right yeah if you're off on some you know when you get off on somebody's side roads or right you know the night when it's dark yeah just to give some elimination and they look pretty cool too well that's yeah that's the other side of it the brush guard has some you know some functionality to it but it really is that it looks cool yeah it looks cool to me anyway yeah I'm not totally with you yeah we opted for you can see we opted to not get the painted and just left the uh the standard the standard black you know plastic which gives it kind of a rugged look right it gives a little bit of rugged look and the other thing is you don't have paint chips and that going on yeah this is just a plastic so when things hit it you're not getting many paint chips or anything so it's really more durable than if you painted it and if you get the full body paint you actually pay a couple Grand to have this painted white in this case so help us understand this a little bit so we've got we've got our two water hookups so the bottom one is the uh they call it the city fill but really that is that's if you're gonna just put pressure to the to the water system you know and not use your tank or your pump so like pressurized City water goes exactly and then the top one is your fill for the tank so we throw a tank we always fill the tank up and we run off the uh the pump so you can hear it running stuff we just always do that and don't hook up very cool propane down here um looks like 30 amp yeah yeah your typical 30 amp you open it yeah 30 amp connection what's this little guy right there and that is for um or cable TV cable TV which I'll have to be honest with you never have used I know in all right I've never even I don't even know if it works quite honestly and this is the outlet for the effort of truma love truma we can talk about that maybe more inside yeah and then your black tank hose here we won't open that yeah and they're coming around uh you got your your dump valves down here yep you've got your uh your gray water and your black water and this one because of how the uh how the gray water tank is positioned um the water it's in front of the axle so it has so the water has to go over the axle to dump so you've actually got a they call it a it's a macerator pump is what it is but also really do is just pumping the water up and over over the axle on that out so when you do your gray water you just pull the gray water and push the button in the city for a few minutes and it pumps it out not a big deal no no no it works really well grab it look at this boys and girls this is cool thank you all right this is a little different back here for sure um we got some cool stickers but obviously we've got a tire rack so what's going on here so we I wanted a spare tire I just just it's Insurance to me you know probably hopefully we'll never ever use it but it just makes it feel good that it's Factor especially when you're off-road someplace you know in the middle of nowhere or a long way from a big city just totally get it we have this thing sitting here yep um the bike rack is um it actually mounts right excuse me the uh the um Tire mounts right to the bike rack mount points on the middle points yeah yeah so you remove the bike rack and you put this into it and you bought this at where we got that it's just called a company called chassis Fab uh Jeff Morris's name he's in Southern California so we'll put that resource down for you below them in stock even that you can order okay so we like about it is we want to have our bikes we can just easily take this off put the bike rack on and we got and we have our bikes going and we also did a the brake lights on you know for a big machine like this yeah the brightness got little bitty brake lights on it yeah so this is a quiz for the audience um she's got a big old button like you say but where are the actual brake lights you'd think it's this right no it's this little guy right there so you get this big old hunk and rear end and uh it's got Teensy light so you kind of I want to solve for this myself yeah so it is just uh yeah all that is it's right off of Amazon it's a good thing you know a cheap bright brake light and when the brake when you put the brakes on that light ups up too it just plugs right into the to the trailer harness into the hitch in the uh right so now up here is the the backup camera what's this other thing that's kind of different yeah so this has a um it has an electronic rear view mirror oh so what so what you see up there one looks like a horn yeah that's what I thought that's actually the uh that's the uh the camera for the rear view mirror and it didn't come with that horn on it they come without that but there's a there's a guy that makes the 3D prints those so I bought one for him and it kind of It kind of Shades it makes it a little crisper and then also keeps keeps the dirt and water off of it so you're not a geek are you guys yes that's so cool yeah I would not have thought of that for sure okay last thing is um this little thing here uh we talked about this yesterday at Winnebago motorhomes what what is this and is this something you edit or is it standard equipment um that's uh Summit makes those and some it makes a ladder right yeah I make the ladder they make the bike rack okay and they make they make these and uh um they're standard today if you buy a travado today that's what they use in this one if you when you open it up you can see this one they had these cables in here that that were to stop it but this thing is heavy and the wind blows and I got worried about that and that's what I went so now these so it just stops it so you can't the door won't fly open and uh and RAM the tire or whatever else into the side of the van so it kind of acts like a doorstop but the bathroom door just so you don't hit the wall with a bathroom door handle it stops it it's a much stronger than having just those tethers in there yeah they used to have yeah a little wire there like I said that's actually standard now if you buy it if you buy a Travato today okay um since you had the door open before we jump inside let me just show how you guys organize your utility closet because I think it's kind of impressive so I have a little towel this is this is my little towel that just if things are wet you know I can just wipe it off and I hang it up here like a clean water hose or something like that it'll dry and then what I do is I put really all the wet stuff the water in here um so I got your filter you know your uh your fresh water hose this is the this is a separate hose for the uh the black sanitation flush you know flush lines so there's no separate so this is similar to my setup so command hook with a uh velcro strap but what the heck is this thing with a filter that's yeah that's just all that is that's just a uh uh like a broom holder oh no way no that's just one of those broom holder okay that you buy to put on the wall and it just happens to work really well for this no kidding missed like a Velcro on it so this little things don't you know don't bang around and you got a cap here so it doesn't yeah drip all over the place if you don't have one of these boys and girls you want to get one of these maybe Roger being the engineer what is that's a water pressure regulator so it drops the water pressure like 40 45 PSI because somebody's somebody's uh um Parks will have they could have up to 100 PSI because they're trying to disperse water over a whole big area Acres yeah so you never know what you're gonna get so that just keeps from blowing your water lines apart yeah always have those I also use it on the on the black water flush you know just just to make sure you're not going to blow something out yeah you know it's a safety thing all right and then you can see it's on her back here you know while we're here you can see the big throttle comes with a uh with a nice you know hose it plugs in here both hot cold cold water so you can hose off whatever your feet your dog your bicycle whatever you want to do cool down Jane if she's a little hot right water pump got a water pump back here and you got these are these are lights you got a light up top and then this is the dump light on the side okay you know so uh and what was this one again oh this is the light up top okay so you can see what you're doing it is nice so it's dark it's nice to have with a dump light yeah I totally agree in the dark it's really nice to be able to light up both sides totally agree with you and this little doohickey here this is what is this I put that strap on here because when you're when you're when you're in bed if you ever needed to give an emergency I actually got a back you can't really reach this it's really hard yeah so so with this here all you got to do is reach you can reach easily reach this and then just pull on it got it boom you can pull it yeah I need to do that um yeah wait a minute you see it's extremely just put a strap on here and are you saying even I could do this yes this whole this hole's already here you know you just pop pop this out and you can reach back there and all they do is put a big big washer behind it and put a bolt on it now is this an aftermarket or is this yeah this is um van made van made gear makes things okay and we have them for the we haven't slam them for here and it'll stick on with uh with magnets magnets yeah and uh and the other nice thing is you can if you want to just put them up some yeah you can you know let's put them up a little bit a little bit of insulation looks like some thermal break and they fit really nice and we leave them in the back ones in we're just leaving all the time I never take them basically hardly ever take them out yeah yeah because again with the rear view mirror yeah it's super neat yeah it works it works really well so yeah so we have those so we have them for the cab as well and we really like them they they really seem to do a good job of blocking uh as far as we go this was this was a uh uh Scott idea you know to put this back here and it works really well you know put it just as it is as your you know mat the doormat doormat to trim off and when you put stuff back here everything stays where it below yeah it's pretty amazing right super simple slide around then I always keep this here so I do put some back here I want to make sure to go anywhere I can just attach that you know just attach a bungee to it as well so you just put water or whatever back here so organize you guys still have your original bag yeah well we we originally we're going to take that off but we found that uh we like to put our uh our laptops and things like that go into really nice so that's where we store I always put our laptops in there you know iPad you know things things thin things like that it's really really handy to put there they're easy to get in and out and they're out of the way yeah wow like that of course they're chairs you know damn chairs he's so organized you know it's so clean it's just so great you know one thing it's just so striking about your van is the interior color um this was not available when I had my choice and I really love this what they call it walnuts Walnut yeah they call it Walnut and it's just so beautiful and the contrast with the white floor you'll see inside when we get in there but it's just a really a lovely color combination it's just um just exceptional thanks we like it we uh we originally um were thinking light colors a small space right a light color but we saw one that had this in it and really liked it now having it we like it a lot yeah it's just Rich Super Rich it doesn't seem to really close it down like you think it would no you know in a contrast like a set of contrast nice little light colors and a white van yeah so great um should we jump around the other side and into the sliding patio door let's do it let's do it all right let's uh jump inside Roger and uh he's got some really cool modifications in here I think you're going to really be interested in um so picture of Discovery Discovery and orbit half now Discover it I know right so this is the roll-off magnetic screen that people love or hate what you're I we love it we love it really quick because it only takes a second so we love this thing like it works really well and this came with or this uh this came this is now standard equipment what standard equipment 2021. what kind of still is enough what we really like about it is now that you're all closed bugs can't get in right boom we just opened this up oh yeah snaps right shot again there it goes there we go that's super nice so it does save I'd say a few inches here from mine that has the uh you know pull across um so I think you're gonna gathered a few more inches yeah for sure for sure you do you do have to deploy it like that you know when you want to use it but it's really easy and I said especially there's the going in and out is so nice you know you know just be able to climb it sure is so quick to put up and down now do you guys have pets that travel with you we do not we have a dog but our dog is much happier at home he loves it he loves to uh he loves to travel you know he loves he loves to go on Hikes and things like that but he's so he's he's a nervous he's just so nervous he just worries all the time yeah and that's not fun for him probably no exactly so he's much happier at home so and he stays with my son or somebody and the reason I ask is is this screen sturdy enough so that no no I wouldn't I would not listen I would not trust it I would build something and put here like a little Gator so you can see how easy it is you know this this is just magnificent it wouldn't take him too long to figure out if I push that in a little bit it's going to hold yeah okay let's turn some lights on and um again this is the 59g meaning floor plan and L he's got a Volta system we'll talk about that in a second um this was the last year that I made this so 2022 forward they have a very different uh great room as I call it the cab Speed Center uh the cab seats spin around right yes and we won't do that because we kind of what that looks like um but let's start with um I don't know just you got some sort of Lights these lights what the heck are these things so so uh outer space yeah so yeah yeah they look cool but somebody swap that hand they used to have you know just the same as these like the same same as everywhere else and they're really bright at night if you're sitting here if you're gonna watch TV or even just doing you know looking on your your work on your computer whatever it is they're just really bright and these are bright on now what we like about it is is you can you can dim them down you know so so you can get you know we're okay now they're not so bright and you can and you can do them individually so I can tap one off leave the other one on if you want if you tap it once it comes on this nice like a nightlight kind of thing if you want it that way you know so we really like those and the control and if you turn them you can use your switch you can do it that way but if you use your switch then every time they come on they come on that's the only thing it doesn't it doesn't matter you can do it either way okay so kind of a standard setup so the this can collapse into a bed about a four by six bed now it looks like you've gained a few inches here on this in between the seats what's the deal with the table do you guys remove some inches or how's that work yeah I cut I cut three inches off of the edge here okay you know just uh on this end took the brackets off just cut it off and then put the brackets back on again super easy and if I didn't tell you would ever notice yeah you would never ever know most traumatically but what that does is it just makes it much makes it easier to walk through here now with like you and I our legs are fairly long so we don't go to like my wife who's only five one yeah you know it's hitting her up higher so it's harder it is but it's just much easier squeeze yeah and we don't notice the difference you know this swings out which is great so you can still yeah and somebody can sit here and eat right just fine we do we do it all the time you know when we eat a lot of times like we like lunch or breakfast usually you know Jane sits here I'll sit on the okay on here at night a lot of time we got the return we're spun around and then then I'll sit here but Jane usually likes to sit you know she likes to sit uh let's see it here so it works and works great this is something you never see in my van because I have a rug here but um the throttles come with this little hidden storage lockable locker right yep um which is cool do you use yours yes yeah it's handy it had affect our is this where your gold and silver we actually have things like well the the all the packet of information you know the books and all that stuff that's a good keep those down there we got a big first aid kit that's down there so accessible right right exactly some things like that and you can see if you look at this the reason I took three inches off of here and not anymore because three inches takes the leg to the edge here so I can still open this with the table if you take any more off then the leg is going to be on there and it's going to cause the issue so that's why I came up with the three inches that's so cool smart guy it takes a technician I would cut and then measure that's the way I do it so your setup up here is pretty similar to mine let's kind of move to the back but let's look at this real fast this is cool how many of you have hit your switches on or off by accident I do it fairly regularly so what is this little yeah there's 3D printed covers again that just guards so they can say we bang something into it you're not hitting the switches that's all and I've seen people with pets do this a lot so the dog will be wagging the tail and all of a sudden whatever carry stuff in your bag yeah there's all kinds of things so just hand you it doesn't you can see it doesn't stop now the other thing that I did we did as long as we're down here is I put in a switch for the awning so it's a lighted switch so it actually when it's off the audience just disabled and the the Bluetooth module this actually comes standard you know with with the uh with the awning actually has a a wire lead on it that's that's specifically for that but uh Winnebago the likes not to not to use that so they just they just tie it directly to a 12 volt source so all I did was put switching between that 12 volt source and when the when you take 12 volts away it it disables the awning so that is some some there's been some that have had the issues with the awning deploying deploying when I don't want it to like automatically go down the road yeah yeah so this in theory would kill that because it disables the awning yeah so so I want to use the Audio I turn that on then I use the onion like normal yep and it's a lighted so I don't remember it's on and then I turn it off and it kills it so smart and this is for the um the lights on the running board yeah that's like mine yeah exactly same as yours and yawning you got the awning in and out of course and then you got the lights on the awning still work even with the awning switch off the lights still works that's clever you can see that right folks yeah and you can actually dim those which is really nice using the app on the phone um oh that's cool and what's different than mine mine you have to actually deploy the awning a little bit to get the lights yeah to work this is nice because this is super nice you can you can dim them and you get this little bit of mood lighting a little bit yeah exactly yeah all right so let's move to the galley because that's uh you know it's just one of the greatest things about this floor plan is this ginormous Nova cool fridge um you're you're I guess carrying clothes or other things in your wardrobe this is our food our wardrobe holds our wardrobe holds food our wardrobe holds food like mostly I'm the weird one yeah this is great so did you have the shelves or does that come standard now uh I added the shelves you had the shelves yeah I understand now they come with they come with the option yeah but no I had the shelves in there the leather trash I'm so in need of a trash can upgrade uh I know we we like this one yeah tell somebody trash can this is different I've had mine literally since day one and uh I'm shopping for a new one fits in the space which is kind of useless space right yeah yeah no that's great because it's just it just it just hides there it doesn't go anywhere it's got a little rubber feet on it doesn't go anywhere you know because it makes it easy you can open up if you want don't use them on a foot you know you don't want to use the foot thing oh yeah you know so towel rack just kind of fits over the top here super great yeah oh we got this from Ikea Ikea that came from Ikea all right and standard microwave yeah um and this is the ceiling fan be of a cover over it yeah yeah just another that was another one that came from bandman gear You Know cover just accept it with magnets but I'm sure as you just do that but it helps it really blocks the Heat and also blocks the light and yours is so clean mine is so dirty yeah I like the white because it just went back yeah with the ceiling yeah for sure all right so looking at the galley there's some big differences here I'm seeing a ginormous sink yeah and faucet so there's some modification in there what tell us about that and then what is this thing you still have a propane underneath it right yeah oh yeah so tell us about those things that's pretty cool okay well let's start let's start the sink um you know it has the uh they had they come with the fold down Marine sink where the faucet folds inside and then the cover folds are it makes it nice and does make a nice um surface area to work on and do things if you want to but we found it was in the way for us most of the time we tried it for a while and just didn't just didn't like it you know we found we're always having to put it up and down when you want to do everything and when you put it up it blocks off all the stuff behind it yep and and the faucet's kind of small and to get stuff on it we just didn't like it you know we have some like I said some love it that's great that for us it didn't work so this so I got this this is a bar sink yeah I got it off on online it's the same exact you know it fits the same hole as the existing took the old sink out it looks deeper though it is like an inch deeper it looks much bigger it does but it's only an inch it's the same diameter and only an inch deeper huh but it looks huge you know but you take out that you know the faucet and all that stuff so it's really nice is nice and big okay and then uh and uh the only real thing I did to it I took deal went out and I've made some shims to just you know just hold it in place you know so so it wouldn't move side to side in and just seal it down with uh with some adhesive caulk okay clear adhesive clock and then it's you put weight on it and just it's it's good with the shims it can't move anyway and of course it's not going to pop up so it it's held it's held strong I didn't even have to really modify the didn't have to modify the drain at all put this already offset that worked well this is a um this just came from and it was Home Depot you know but anyone else is a regular you know faucet for your kitchen you know it does have to pull down which is nice it has a sprayer which is nice but and you did have to drill a hole you didn't have to drill a hole in that and just and hook that up that's okay but yeah that was a that was not a big deal and I'm well yeah tell us about this so that this is just one of those it's a thin like a silicone mask you know and it just helps it does a couple of things one it just kind of helps protect this look how clean that is yeah that's that's the big thing out of it yeah yeah if you have one of these you know everything that you spill you know right up in the dry ends up in here you know especially right in here yeah it's just a given and this this just makes it nice is it so you got this here so whatever it gets you get anything wet or or whatever it just falls on here makes it much easier to keep it clean and it protects the glass you know and when you you know when you want to use a stove you just you know roll this up and stick it somewhere yeah right until you're done so you have a counter extension you have unusual countertop that's solid white which is kind of pretty yeah that's and that's that was the um the standard the option you know yeah if you don't see all any color you want as long as it was Pure White there was no option on that one um so what's missing is the basket here so you could put a paper towel holder that's pretty cool yeah so I did that the nice thing about this paper is Tahoe is a ratchet oh so it doesn't look so it doesn't have as much of a tendency it does once in a while when there's much of a tendency to unroll itself while you're driving and you've taken good advantage of this space here that is really nice space yeah as you can see you know we use our yeah yeah I do the same thing mine is very well used um a lot of mods pretty cool there's a few more little things back here that Roger wants to show us that's really simple really inexpensive that's super functional and I love these kind of tips wait till you see this okay so what we're looking at this is the Murphy bed we know what this looks like you've put a basket here it's a standard now standard okay these are these are great it's great to put stuff you know right okay as long as you're not having to get out of bed to get to it that's kind of cool you get your basket here but what we want to show the folks is what's back here let me see if I can zoom in here for you so what do we got going here is some extra things here so a couple things I did I added a 12 volt Outlet back here and uh and just and put the USB you know double USB in here so we can plug our phones in here at night and then uh you know Jane puts her phone in the little there's a little uh pack pocket down there where she can stick her phone or book and stuff in there and I've got them back you know just metal on the back of mine that I just stick it to the magnet and it can just stick there at night you know so out of the way and then the other thing we also like to read before we go to bed so we have your glasses so we so I bought these little glass this little things you just they just pop down and you stick your glasses you know any glasses in there and where they are yeah at a moment right right they're out of the way and and you don't have to get up and shove them somewhere even when you're done done reading or whatever it is pop up there turn the lights off and go to bed that is so go to sleep and this is the Luke shelf yep we use that a lot you know yeah right in your drawer yeah is again very different from the current 2022 Plus floor plan so we have extra storage that is not available and this is tons of storage down here right yeah yeah and what the one thing about the GLS today is you know the electronics on this one are all in that jump seat right which is this thing right here right water if you don't have a voltage system the water but in here is All Electronics All Electronics that are under here so you're you're losing a lot of this space right you know and this is real Handy space to put stuff completely agree with you you know like yeah just there's a lot of stuff in yeah out of the way and we use this this is all we use this for clothes yeah you know because there's two of us yeah so that's our this is this this is Mike my closet this is Jane's closet um where's The Liquor Cabinet that's my question um the liquor stuff ends up going in there in here this is where all our food goes you know so that's where that's yeah we looked at that earlier but that's okay so that's where all that stuff goes you know these are good ideas to pull out yeah that's that makes it easy just to be able to uh you know put your stuff in there so you don't have to dig yeah back right handy um one more thing Roger so you might have been we talked about the sink earlier and with no cover it's kind of useless space so how did you guys solve that problem yeah so we just bought again bought this off offline and I just put I put feet on the bottom of it better to the right distance for the you know for inside of the sink so you put it on there it fits and it doesn't then it doesn't move so to cover a cutting board adds to the space um functionality of the it's not it's not nice and flat like the original is but still it does cover this up so if you want space you have and of course this will slide out of the way right right that's so smart it does that and actually rides we keep it right where it was we just leave it there and it really hasn't been in the way because we just you know for yeah if we're eating or doing stuff or whatever there we just use it as part of the table it becomes a cheeseburger if you're doing this and and crumpets exactly you can use anything like that or it says great cutting board or whatever you want to use it for it we find it really handy like that it's so great okay the other thing I can show real quick is I I like having this is the control for the for the max fan I like having it here because I can reach it I can reach it from my seat you know driver's seat if I want to turn or do anything with the fan for my driver's seat but at night you'd like to have it by the bed for sure and I put a piece of metal on here okay and you can just stick it I got two magnets up here I can just stick it to one of those like a one for my phone one for that right then it's right if I want it I grab it and turn the fan on and off or up or down so smart so this is a cool modification that most anybody even me can do um we have to close the door but any of you with Van patio sliding doors you know what a problem it is to slam the door shut Roger's got a really cool um remedy here watch this yeah so we did is we put just a regular pull handle there it's going to close the door you just grab that and pull look at that and all that is that's from that's from I think it was Home Depot it's just a drawer pull is all it is and if you take this panel off you have access to the back back here and then just screws in with a little bit yeah I just made a template and put in and a screw it I did I did put some big washers on the back in order to support the metal but and what what's the what's the why is that because you're just throwing this thing forward and the real trick is the geometry getting around this curve right right and then you pull it and you're not slamming your door then right right if you look at the way the door shuts you know it's sliding until it gets to about here where now it's actually coming in right so now what you're doing is actually helping a comment by just pulling it and you can see instead of having to yeah you know otherwise otherwise you're doing this all the time even then you got to look at half the time it's not closed already right which probably puts so much stress on this window I'm afraid I'm just amazing I don't fall out yeah but this is a genius move because you what about two hours and 20 20 bucks I thought I think it was less than that I think I think ten dollars like I think it was a six or seven dollar handle you know it wasn't much it's just uh so far after a year and a half it's holding up just fine yeah that is really smart so so watch this so we saw about pulling the handle from the inside but from the outside it's kind of same thing you're slamming this thing forward but where the pressure points right here right because it's coming around this curve to go in to the van body so maybe to show us that one more time yeah so if you actually if you actually push on it back here you notice I don't have to slam the door very hard and it shuts really different right Which is less wear and tear on the handle certainly on this rail system and the window um so I'm gonna start doing that right away that's a genius I think it works cost free yeah yeah um simplistic solution to make that a little easier so let's just take a minute talk about the Volta system why you chose that what do you have the uh well why did you choose a number one and how is it you know enable your rving um we love the Volta system I I spoiled a hell of us I wouldn't be I wouldn't be without it um yeah Volta is great it's uh it allows you to have you know full 30 amp power wherever you are sitting here we could be running the air conditioner running a microwave at the same time in silence and yes yes no generator running no anything else and it'll run it all afternoon or all night you know pretty much it's uh we love it it's got a it's at what 9 600 watts in this one takes a little more than what you had that's right a little bit that's right today you can get a four you can get a four um pack uh this has a three pack three actually got a four pack on it which I can't remember is eleven thousand so it's a 13. they're literally about 13. it's quite large if if that was available and we ordered this one we'd ordered it yeah me too I would have done it totally so we haven't really run any any issues that being said either with what we have but we just love it it's total freedom yeah we've gone to you know we tend to stay away from campgrounds a lot and go park you know go we like Hollow Harvest hosts and boondockers welcome things like that so we tend to stay away but even even sometimes we do Park in fact this last trip we were on and we went to because I need to dump tanks and it's handy to do that you know stay tonight and everyone plugged in yeah isn't that great plugs right there but I didn't it was It was kind of rainy in that I what you know I don't need it don't need it no it's all the power you had some cool things we talked about the tire pressure monitoring system maybe show us what's going on up front yeah there's also there's some cool gadgets here what's going on here well this is uh this is a tire minder it's a tire monitoring tire pressure and temperature monitoring system okay and we talked about earlier you know the little just a little uh little sensors that screw right onto the the airport on the tire and uh what it what I like about it is it gives you you know your current you know pressures and temperatures you know of your tires all the time and it also monitors it monitors it monitors for you know slow leaks for fast leaks for pressure and for temp high temperature you know low pressure it's monitoring nice of all the time and if anything were having to Beeps so hopefully the idea is if you hit a nail or something you can know it right away because this is going to come out and tell you hey you got a slow leak going on before it gets down to the point you know where our Warriors higher pressure you're gonna you're gonna know about it right away to give you a chance to go someplace and do something about it before it becomes a big issue and what's this little dude and that's a that's a scang gauge two to call it actually it's a it plugs into the odb2 port which is price which is right here you know which is a which is a computer port you know for the for the engine so it still monitors things what I like about is I can look I can monitor the actual water temperature you know exactly what it is you know the water water temperature gauge on these things is is a glorified Idiot light you never you notice it never moves it never decides when it moves you're when it finally jumps to being hot you're really hot now you know or this I can tell I know exactly what the water temperature is I know what the oil temperature is I know what the transmission temperature is all the time so I know I can watch as I'm climbing Hills I can watch them all go up you know as the engine's working hard and I know if I'm pushing you know pushing her too hard or whatever what's this little dude here oh that's a um that's a dash cam oh okay so anytime when I see the camera faces forward exactly yeah that's the screen right which is most of the time it's blank you know but it uh so anytime that the ignition's on is recording so a couple of things nice about that if you're driving in a really neat area you know you know through Arches National Park or wherever you could pull that you just got a Carter you pull the car down you can transfer it to your computer and you get a really nice video off of that yeah and of course the other thing is if anything bad happens you got a video record of it you know so it shows us two functions and this came standard and then this is a new rear view mirror so the 2021s um so when this is on it acts like a rear view mirror except you can see everything instead of trying to get out and see to the back of the van which is really Troublesome yeah to say the least hey Roger's going to start the chassis I think if I just turned on oh yeah give it a second here and it'll uh [Music] so everything's gonna go so you can see it's just like looking it's like looking in the rear view without having all the stuff behind all the stuff behind you so again because you know even with the window shades out it's pretty minimal at best right and this here I got a whole view back there so I know exactly what's going on behind me it's really nice which is really an improvement of what I have which is this little backup screen here and we have we still have that yeah you still have those yeah oh yeah and you need that because this is this is a this this makes a review yeah this is the backup this works better for that interesting but you can flip the thing off and now you're looking at what's behind you oh it's like I'm so I can see you know that's cool hey what's up yeah here we can see your tire gauge oops on on cool all right and the scan gauge will come on when the when they're in there to start the engine right right with that so and the nice thing about the scan gauge 2 it's also it's also a uh um a trip computer as well oh cool so it'll so it'll tell you all the things you know like your miles per gallon how many miles they have left all that kind of stuff
