they're jumping right into breaking news in just the beginning of troubles for one of the guys from Pawn Stars shocking secrets the Pawn Stars did not want you to know there's some crazy behind-the-scenes secrets about the cast of Pawn Stars that they would never want anyone to find out about hey before we get into the video be sure to enter our brand-new giveaway will be giving away any of these items it's your choice to enter the giveaway leave a like cover the keywords subscribe turn on notifications and most importantly watch the whole video it's that simple they know what they are getting so what are we got here this is a very special book it's called and in Conable it was printed and 1484 given that attempting to film the actual day-to-day life that a pawn shop would result in some pretty boring television it should come as no surprise that the items you see brought into the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop on the show have been vetted beforehand granted this doesn't mean that the items are plants for producers in fact longtime shop manager Travis Benton told the Las Vegas review-journal that his brokers spot unique items and show them to producers who decide if they are worthy of broadcasting another shop employee Wacoal Andy said once an item is deemed possible TV material its seller is coached on how to act while on camera some people have a great item to sell but they appear nervous on film it can take several tries to get it right depending on the person producers have cut items from the show because the seller could not pull it together on camera but it doesn't happen often which is an interesting fact on its own when you think about it executive producer Brent Montgomery even admitted that the staging goes a little bit further than that in an interview with Odyssey Montgomery said that they have really smart scripters to feed the characters organic information and that he's coached the guys on buying stuff they wouldn't otherwise go for if they weren't doing the show he also said the production team pre negotiates pricing with a potential sellers off camera to make sure that these people will actually sell the stuff at a reasonable price otherwise they're just trying to be on TV and while this is somewhat understandable it's kind of throws off the true meaning of Pawn Stars so let's ask the on question does this actually mean that Pawn Stars isn't fully real not exactly through all the show does not need to be scripted for various reasons as all detail even more later on the show is still very real the only difference is that unlike what the show deems as real it's not manned by the for now three sadly members of the team and it's also bare that if they didn't do the scripted stuff a lot of weird things would happen so in this rare case the scripting does help the show even if it does make it feel a little less authentic Cory is no stranger to the law okay if I take a look at it Oh help yourself why don't you put your tongue on and see how junk you are from last night okay in March 2011 Cory Harrison was placed behind bars on suspicion of battery with a serious bodily injury in resisting the law police were initially flagged down by a security guard at a bar after Harrison had gotten into a verbal dispute with another patron however once law enforcement arrived on scene and spoke with bolt Harrison and the other guy involved Cory pushed one of the security guards and slightly pushed an officer Harrison was then arrested and held in custody for several hours until he was sober enough to leave Harrison's lawyers reportedly stated that the police wanted Harrison to apologize for the verbal spat but Cory refused as he felt he had done nothing wrong and maintains that he did not get physical with anyone and what we can only assume is an attempt to avoid any future situations like this Cory has since purchased his very own bar instead what this shows off in quite sad fashion is that while the guys have pawn stars from quite the characters in front of the camera they're still human beings and ones who are quite capable of getting into trouble now sure Cory wasn't arrested for too long but it's something that people like us will find out about and thus paint a very different picture of the guys when things like this happen and if he keeps getting into trouble like this it's going to bite him very hard in the future mark my words oh and did you think Cory was the only Pawn Stars person to get in trouble with the law nope Chumlee has gotten into some serious legal troubles how you doing pretty good how are you is that what I think it is yeah it definitely is if you've seen the show you know that Chumlee is something of a character he's a bit of a joke to the other main cast members but he does good work for the most part but like his fellow business worker Corey Chum has his slew of legal problems as well he recently got into some serious trouble when his home was raided as Las Vegas police officers served a warrant in relation to a recent case while searching his home they found several illegal substances as well as unlicensed firearms he was charged with at least one misdemeanor and a felony but pled down the charges to attempted possession of a controlled substance he was able to avoid jail time in lieu of probation and counseling the news of Chumley's arrest made the headlines but it's not something anyone was going to bring up on the show his work on the series wasn't interrupted so it didn't make history's airwaves without chump stars just isn't the same but on the other hand keys to clean up his act for sure word from behind the scenes was that this case was close to the breaking point for Rick in regards to having Chumlee on the show he felt that this was enough proof that he should be gone from but history wouldn't let that happen and he wasn't technically arrested for a crime has he gone off on charges thanks to the plea deal Chumlee knows how to stir the pot and whether on the show or off it gets a lot of people frustrated at they were sued by their original TV agents a guy called the shop and said he's got a ride that's gonna save my life and since I'm not looking to die anytime soon I figured I'd check it out in 2012 things quickly went south when all three Harrison's along with Chumlee were sued by their ex manager their network wasn't safe either as they were also being targeted by the talent agency that represented them venture IAB so how exactly did this happen you asked the lawsuit came to light when ex manager Wayne Jeffries claimed that the cast of Pawn Stars dropped him after an issue surfaced concerning his handling of their response to A&E spin-off show cajun Pawn Stars that isn't all though as venture iadies lawsuit alleged that History Channel executives worked with another agent to lure the cast away from them Jeffries wasn't just suing the cast upon stars over the incident but he was also suing Annie the History Channel and various executives for interfering with his management deals while no specific details of the suit were revealed Jefferies was asking for unspecified damages whereas venture IAB sued for more than 5 million eventually the venture I a bee suit was dismissed however upon asking Harrison for further details regarding the Jeffry suit he seemed rather dismissive of the legal drama and stated the more money you make the more times people sue you people are always going to eventually go to sue you for something the irony of this situation doesn't end there though the show Cajun pawn stars also got the Harrisons themselves into a flurry as they were told when they started making Pawn Stars that there would be no spin-offs made of them at all but lo and behold the spin-off happened it was basically just their show except new people in a louisiana location so you know the CSI Law & Order effect for lack of a better term things eventually work down but then that led to this situation and you'll notice no other Pawn Stars spin-offs of havin sense rick is losing interest what do you got here I've got some of these deals from the 19th century do you know anything about them I really don't after a while everyone suffers a little burnout from their career but the burnout that the hosts of one of TV's biggest shows is something else entirely Rick Harrison the face of Pawn Stars didn't know what he was getting into when the show went to air I figured that a show would mean free publicity and free publicity would need more business but everyone told me that no one wants to watch a show about for fat guys in a pawn shop well people obviously did want to watch for fat guys in a pawn shop as proven by the almost immediate success of the show however Rick never ever wanted a long-running series all I was hoping for was a season or two so everything that has happened is beyond my expectations it's insane after seven years he's gotten tired saying in 2015 that he was planning on drastically reducing his duties with both the pawn shop and the show within two years I promised my wife that after two years I'm massively going to slow down can't work 12 hours a day every for too long before it burns out so two more years and then I'm going to really slow down so yeah that kind of sums up what Rick fuels about the Pawn Stars business and to be honest without Rick the show wouldn't be the same but on the other hand this isn't something you can technically blame him for by his own admission he didn't want the show to be a super long-running thing instead he wanted it to help his business a little and then would it inevitably went off the air things would be okay for him and his family so now that it's a global phenomenon and many many people have heard of Rick Harrison it's no doubt that it's a weight on his shoulders many people leave long-running shows after a while because they want something new and want to spend time with their families that's not something to criticize that's something to praise Corey's weight loss wasn't natural if I was a wrestler I'd be like the bald bruiser maybe you should rename it to the bald loser one of the biggest transformations to be featured on the show thus far is Corey Harrison significant amount of weight loss as the star has since lost over a hundred and ninety two pounds despite seeing Harrison often partaking an exercise in the back of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop there's something that the cast have failed to mention about the weight loss in an interview with People magazine Harrison said that after weighing in at more than 400 pounds he finally decided to take action against his weight he stated I literally drove straight from the doctors and had the surgery almost immediately back then the surgery was too expensive for my bank account so I had to pay with four credit cards but it was something I had to do I was not going to get diabetes while we are happy to see that Corey is now fit healthy and looking fantastic it would have been great to see the star actually lose the weight naturally this would have been a perfect opportunity to showcase to his fans that do struggle with their weight that anything is possible if you set your mind to it so while it's easy to say that he cheated in getting his weight loss done you do have to admire the fact that he did at least get off his butt and get the procedure done most people don't even get themselves into shape because they can't get motivated enough sure it may have taken him getting a 400-pound frame to get it but he got it and he has kept it off and that's harder than you might think even with the surgery the store was sued for melting stolen coins like to sell this gold coin if I could okay this is a Spanish Dampier this is like the Royal Crest of Spain the show has been through many different lawsuits but perhaps the most newsworthy one was when they were caught melting coins that were stolen when you deal with the public for a living you never know what's going to happen Harrison was reminded of this the hard way in 2014 when his store was sued for melting down a collection of gold coins that the former owner David Walters alleged had been stolen and sold off by his niece according to UPI Walters claimed that his niece received twelve thousand 375 dollars for his fifty thousand dollar gold coin collection and although pawn shops in Nevada are required to hold onto items for 30 to 90 days in case the owners want them back gold coins aren't subject to that law unfortunately for Walters that menĂs collection was gone by the time he tracked it down shut up spokesperson Laura her Levitch offered a pretty unsympathetic view of this situation telling UPI if the grader is not someone we trust the cases are cracked open and the coins are sent out to be melted down that was the case here I don't know for sure but I believe a majority were melted down they weren't worth what he Walters thought they were worth we're sure that devaluation takes the sting right out of being ripped off by his own family there are many layers to this that needs to be stated first while the pawn stars did do an illegal act technically they did not have any indication that they were stolen which was proven by the previous point about how the customers are vetted for rare items to have on the show clearly the producers and such didn't think that the niece was a thief else they wouldn't have had her on the show it also should be noticed that the niece was indeed arrested for theft and selling of stolen property finally despite their hand in the event the Harrisons were not penalized for what happened as they technically didn't do anything the pawn Plaza is in a lot of financial troubles as the Pawn Stars series continues to grow in popularity Rick decided to take advantage of the situation and expanded his horizons he decided to open his very own shopping center on plaza despite being located just south of the Gold solar pancha the palm plaza doesn't seem to be doing very well financially as within its first year of opening it seen five of its tenants close their doors former tenant Paul Weinstein owner of Rita's Italian dice said that his business along with others were forced out due to dwindling customers and overly expensive rent Weinstein claims that the tenants of the plaza were promised 100,000 to 150,000 customers per month but stated that he was lucky to get if 30 or 40 customers visited his shop daily with rent payments doubling in December 2016 and customer attendance dwindling maybe Rick should have just stuck to the pawn industry this is a lesson that everyone should learn about mainly knowing when to stay in your lane just because you're popular in one aspect of your career it doesn't mean that you're going to be popular in all aspects of your life or business many famous people have lost their fortunes trying to cash in on their names or make a long lasting legacy Rick was clearly trying to do that and pay the price quite literally they don't actually work at the store um this is pretty amazing so this is a rare fine than well that's if it's real the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is actually managed by Travis Benton not Rick Harrison or the late rich Harrison better known as the old man but they do actually shoot the show in the store only privately with customers who sign releases and agree to be extras this sometimes causes issues for Benton and the other sellers on the floor but more on that in a minute according to star chasm part of the reason the Pawn Stars crew isn't readily available to the public is due to Nevada's privacy laws specifically in regards to the fact that shop patrons would constantly be trying to take photos and videos of the reality stars which could violate privacy and others in the shop by accidentally taking a shot at them and that makes a lot of sense when you think about it because something tells us seven skulls in a duffel bag guy probably wouldn't be too thrilled to accidentally appear on some Vegas vacationers Instagram let alone a hit TV show and what's funny is that they try to act like they own the business but in reality they don't the show gets in the way of actual business I don't know if you're gonna be okay on this one dude who would have thought that having a TV show that is watched by millions of people around the world could hinder your business well that is exactly the case as the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is currently facing due to the sheer popularity of the show the store needs to be temporarily closed when shooting an episode store manager Travis Benton told the Las Vegas review-journal that sales can often suffer because of the show was filming takes place two to five times per day Monday through Friday the show schedule is often very hectic is Benton easing even informed of what the crew has planned for the following day until the night before usually around 6 p.m. not only does the closure hinder business but so do the fans as Benton is estimated that one out of a hundred people who pass through the shop are actually there to do business the rest are there just simply as fans of the show don't worry though the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop isn't about to close any time soon as the shop draws in approximately 4,000 to 5,000 visitors a day item evaluations are very unrealistic I have a 1652 copy of Elias Ashmont theorem Chemical Britannica if you have ever watched an episode of Pawn Stars you will be gobsmacked at the shear valuations that some of the rather odd items are valued at by the expert surprisingly despite many producers wanted to keep their show secrets under wraps one producer from Pawn Stars revealed that they use up to ten professionals to appraise the item to help determine its valuation what makes this so shocking is the simple fact that the producers always choose the one expert that is appraised the item at the highest price because the higher the item value the more drama that is brought to the show don't get me wrong though despite the items often being heavily inflated there's nothing quite like the suspense of waiting to hear just how much someone's unique item may be worth however if you're looking for a more realistic buying and selling show it might be time to brave the boring PBS version Antiques Roadshow
